[Q] Which folder app? - HTC Sensation

Thought it best to ask here, than to install/remove a thousand apps, till I find a good one!
Which app do you think is best for creating/ organising the app menu, perhaps as folders etc?
With the new Sense where it doesnt "fast scroll", its becoming tedious scrolling to find the app you want!
Thanks in advance!

I use application folder it seems to do well and easy to add and remove apps from the folder

Looks good, but doesnt seem to be able to create folders in the App menu (the standard android app list).
That is what Im looking for, mainly.

I use the Folder Organizer app. It's about US ~1.41 on Android Market or $1.50 on Amazon Appstore. It allows you to make widgets and folders which looks a lot like the iPhone folders. There's several good organizing functions to define label tags and shortcuts, etc.

Categories type app?

Anyone who has jailbroken an ipod touch or an Iphone may have come across an app that is called categories. It takes the apps that you want and puts them into categories on your home screen so it is less cluttered.
Is there any app that has this type of function, whether on the home screen or on the sense app list?
I don't know of any way to categorize apps in your app drawer but there is a built in option to make folders on your homescreen.
There is an app called Apps organizer in the market.

IS there an app folder that can categorize apps?

Is there an app folder that can categorize apps? Just like Iphone 4, where you drag the app to the folder, it automatically categorize it, so as to save space... Thanks
Where are you looking for this folder to be? Home screen? Application drawer?

I use ADW Home, and there's a great new feature where you can categorise your app drawer... basically means you can hide stuff you don't want to see... you can't just hit one folder to see the hidden stuff, it's like press munu, then activate a different drawer group, but it's easy enough.
There are also some aps out there that do what you want, but I can't say what they are, nor have I used them.
i have ihome, this app mimic the iphone 4, the folder feature is very disappointing. but atleast its there...(no auto cate on droid.)
the home screen is 89% like iphone. atleast they gives you the iphone homescreen only it isn't smooth as.
Try FolderOrganizer

Home screen, just like ICr*p 4 when you tap on the folder, the sub-folder appears.
You can add folders on the home screen just like widgets then drag the applications inside it.

There is an app I think called apps organizer that lets you categorize apps, then you can add widgets to you're screen that look like an app shortcut, for a particular category, and when you tap it a folder with shortcuts to all apps in that category opens. I think it is apis organizer, I will go check in market. I had it before the last time I reset and debranded, actually never thought to reinstall it until just now.

Is there a way to categorize apps into folders Within the App drawer?
i dont really like cluttering up the homescreens but i would like to neaten up the app drawer as its full of crap that i hardly ever use but would still like to keep on the phone (google goggles, wikitude, google skymap) things like that
I use the feature in adw. The only improvement I would like to see is an easier way to switch drawers, perhaps icons at the top or bottom of the app drawer.

Just saw this one... try "App Categories" ... never used it but remembered this post

What "notepad" do you guys use ?

Just a quick notes app that i can easily put reminders and stuffs in. Better if it can be synced somewhere.
Maybe Evernote?
I use Catch Notes.... have the widget on my home screen..... comes in super handy....

Catch Notes for me.
Mobisle Notes is the best notepad IMO. Try it out, free in the market.
I use the one preinstaled on my Fascinate.
Note Everything.
Tons of options, yet still simple. Great widgets, post-its, shortcuts.

Another vote for Catch notes (or AK Notepad same dev, but different UI - only text notes vs image/voice/text notes in Catch) which supports syncing to catch.com.
I use the very simple Epistle which is really great with it's dropbox sync
Mobilism notes, because:
- i can use checkboxes (with reminders)
- I can use indents or subnotes
- put notes on the homescreen as widgets (even edit checkboxes from the homescreen)
- automatically sync with google docs (so i can edit the notes on my computer in google docs).
Another good app that I use is: "QuickNote Notepad Notes"
AK notepad looks good. might try it out.
There's a built in text editor in explorer and root explorer. I used to use other apps but those can serve two functions so why not use it? I don't need anything fancy.
i dont really need one but i use jorte because it was the first one i saw and i think it syncs with this calendar im bout to start using
I use ColorNote, been using since. I got my android phone a few years back now. It backs up messages easy to work with and has a few nice features and its free. Check it out

Cm9

1) is there any app like hide it pro that works on cm9 ics!?! Hide it pro doesn't work :'(
Sent from my ZTE Blade using xda premium
Until it gets updated to work with ICS, the next best thing is to put a file called .nomedia in the folders in question. It doesn't hide anything from file explorers but it does hide them from galleries and other such media apps.
Unless, of course, anyone knows of alternative apps, but I've not heard of any.

I actually wanted an app hider. But not the basic one like go launcher / apex launcher has. The advanced one, which freezes it like hide it pro

I believe Titanium Backup has the ability to freeze apps, you might want to try that.
I'm using apex launcher can hide but without password

[Q] Folder Apps

I hate all the App shortcuts being in a big bunch in the Apps Menu. Is there any good apps that I can use to allow me to make folders I can sort them into ?
I would like to root my Xoom and put a newer version on but I don't get all the tech speak and jarganisum now.
Thanks
Most launchers support folders, but folders are only on the home pages. I don't know of any launchers that allow you to sort your apps into folders.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
Go Launcher did, but it didn't look as good on the XOOM so it went. . Was looking for a simple app.
Sent from my MZ604 using xda premium
It wouldn't be a simple app. It would have to be a launcher that supported it.
Well this one doesn't need a launcher. I tried it didn't like it. The layout was'nt what I wanted. Also it tried to be to much.
But deff no launcher needed.
''Application Folder'

For serious, I think you should the Nova Launcher, you can create "tabs" with it and organize the way you want the apps, these tabs are the "apps" and "widgets" by default, but you still can create a tab called "games" for example! Good luck.

I was going to suggest the MIUI launcher but then remembered we never got one that supports the Xoom.
