For now, there is no file in stable/rc/nightly download pages, defy doesn't appear in the left list nor as defy nor as jordan. And the forum and wiki don't seem to be created.
I don't trust in proprietary, but I trust what I see and right now it's like the inclusion isn't done.
Nevertheless, it would be an important help if defy could be included into CM.
Hoope they have fixed the battery drain issue. support the 720p recording and playback. I migrated to motoginger 2.3.4 just coz i hate battery drain issues on CM7
Differences will not be. Official or not. The developers are the same.
Many changes from CyanogenDefy are not merged into the official git.
After finishing the merger you will see forum thread and the ability to download from Сyanogen.

My defy can bear ~44 hours with CM7. It can be much more?

As long there is no official CyanogenMOD support on the Desire S, we must compile the nightlys from source for the Desire S.
I will compile a nightly if there are important changes or bugfixes in the cyanogen changelog.

I think the idea with nightlies(official ones anyway) is that the users find all the bugs so the stable version can be updated with only the things that work, although i may be completely wrong

Well I think we already have too many CM version to test...No Stable version exists for cm7 though 1.3.2 of superkid is mighty close....
Even nightlys do have specs if you go through the sites....

you are right. i test every release before i upload it. if i found bugs i will not release it. but mainly the users should tell me what they find.

Just my 2 cents, but I'm thinkig, there's no need of CM nightlies. We should focus first on a real stable version, like superkid's one.
We are all working together on making the cm... we are all on the same team.. and what he does can help me, and what i do can help him

Edit :: After testing found that ROM is totally unusable atm but its a good start....
ROM is super laggy and unstable ATM, but I hope it'll be usable very soon...

rom is a very laggy, and gsm doesnt work like said but good things are on the way. too laggy for me to test anything so ill wait till its stable

i remember in the early stages in the miui on the vibrant that you had to format the system a certain way and have cyanogenmod recovery...maybe thats the problem?

why should anyone try it? it's almost the same with miui 1.8.26,with a different skin and without voice recording in videos (which miui now support that)

I have the same Problem whith this ROM waht i have whith MIUI and Cyanogen
My micro is muted so i had to go back to Virtuous ROM
How' s regular MIUI different from Galnet MIUI?

Galnet has agreed not to promote rom's on XDA.
To answer your query though.
A new build will be available tonight, with camera fixed and some other tweaks (it's not just the same)
I'm also (as in on my own phone) trying a kernel that may fix the RIL issue.
Didn't checked fully but it seems galnet miui is better rom

After doing the sole development on the Desire S build, also doing the kernel work on SGS, I can tell you 100% that far more than just a skin is applied to MIUI.
You do know that Galnet was part of the team that initially ported MIUI to the Galaxy S, and most if not all of his fixes are now included by MIUI?
So it's just a Skin on top of MIUI... No!
Could you tell us what it brings over stock MIUI ? I've tested it and I have to admit that it's running decent for a beta.

So far the changes from Superkid's 1.8.26 build are more native saga libs, working 720p recording with audio, fixed some translations errors, ring & notification tones have default setting's after boot, flash player works.
I'm currently testing a compile of the HTC kernel that seems to have fixed the RIL issues, meaning no more mic mute when on a call or hang-up effect
Will you upload the fixed version in the near future ? And will you still support this project after your phone returns ?

First i was on CM7(Froyo Kernel) -- Everything exept. the known issues was working....
Then i Flashed the CM9 kernel wich could be fount in the upper links
and Everythings......... works .......
For me thats new because of in my last experiences with those Roms ,
there were two Versions with different Kernel usage :
CM7/CM9 version for Defy with Froyo kernel
CM7 /CM9version for Defy/Defy+ with Gingerbread Kernel
And now one and the same CM7 can be used on both kernel
And the gingerbread telephone network bug in 2nd boot is fixed!!!!!!!!!!!

When you write "Froyo kernel" and "Ginger bread Kernel", do you mean: "CM7_Kernel-signed.zip" and "CM9_Kernel-signed.zip" (Fritolays http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20148046&postcount=1624 )
or do you refer to some other Kernel files ???
(I guess the 2 filenames below are the same as the ones fritolays re-packed. I'll update here when i get answer )

I flashed CM9 over Feb 4 build, it bootloops.
ICS is working very good, but it has very little in common with CyanogenMod.
It is very AOSP-like now.
If you are okay with vanilla Android, then you can use ICS very soon (because camera will be working soon, I think).
If you are like me, and need the functions of CM that make CM so great, than ICS isn't usable at all (for now) for you.

there is no Kang but Fuzz.... kang means it's sort of before nightly version...
The only unusable functions fir the ics 31st nightly was the camera, other than that, all major phone functions work. Froyo kernel. but everything is better than cm7

ONLY the major functions of the phone are working.
The little things that make all the difference between CM and Vanilla Android aren't even finished yet.

Nope. Just not true. In CM7 everything works just fine AND the excellent configurability of a true Custom Rom is there. That is what I expect from CM.
The ICS Versions for the Defy are very good, but they lack those parts of CM that make it excellent. And that is not the Quarks' fault or Epsylon's fault, it just isn't finished yet.

Definitely sounds like an awesome plan
My first intention to open this thread was that its possible to run the new CM7 and CM9
on Defy or Defy+ --- the same Rom for both
But now im think its not possible , because i´ve tried to install MS2Ginger 3.0NG-RC which work very well, but my CM7Fryo in 2nd boot dosent...
I will try my luck with CM9ICSFroyo in 2nd, maybe 2nd boot need CM9/ICS

Just flashed it. The first bug that I noticed is that the sim card probably is not detected as I have no network connection (didn't ask for pin code and manual network selection gives an error).

Why that is bad? In my opinion it is better, so everyone can use whatever he wants, that is the meaning of open source.
Ok it may not good too have x1000 cm10.1 roms and x1000 avatar roms (like in gb times), but having 1(or 2) of each rom type is quite good in my opinion.

Ok it may not good too have x1000 cm10.1 roms and x1000 avatar roms (like in gb times), but having 1(or 2) of each rom type is quite good in my opinion.

Ok, seriously, this got sooooo childish over time. I really think nikez & the while team are doing an amazing job, fo' sure.
+ They are open source which is amazing.
So, why would anyone really rewrite the whole thing? Just to grow some imaginary balls? What would you do?
The only question is:
If they (Avatar & everyone who uses their sources) improve the existing stuff, do they also release the sources for everyone?
Have a nice day and please rethink your opinion about this and open source in general.
Sure they haven't mentioned Evervolv yet, but I hope they will edit OP soon and match the rules.
By the way, 99% of those you accuse of "kanging" don't even kang, so get your facts right.
Kanging implies that they use Evervolv code (in this case) and don't admit it.
(I don't even mention that they (EV) would be lost without CAF, Google, CM sources etc.)

We want to make sure the rom works fine. Once we get confirmation that it works we will make an official post with Changelog , credits etc. We always provide credits to all the people involved.

HI op if you want the avatar theme to be the theme applied when Rom is booted for the very 1st time add this to build.prop
persist.sys.themePackageName=com.avatar.theme.Denim
Then the avatar theme will be loaded up by default every time the phone is booted up thanks x

Not carrying on the rant over here lol but Come on guy's the whole Rom is not evervolv's just because they ported the Rom DONT make every single app or code in the rom theirs. Yes they may have coded SOME things but NOT everything. So what if the OP used most of the current avatar rom he HAS THE RIGHT to because android is OPEN SOURCE. I am fed up with members on xda all they care about is THIS IS MINE NA NA NA NA NA get a grip of yourselve's are you really going to act like a child for a few codes and a few apps ???? My 2 year old daughter would laugh at you for acting more like a child than she is. Come on guy's developers should SHARE not argue and point the fingers at eachother. And if people didnt KANG or whatever the hell you want to call it then where would most of the rom's on xda be ????? Every developer os sense Rom's KANGED HTC do you see them coming on here chucking their dummy's out the pram ???? because i dont see them doing that. I think it is sad it has to come down to developers arguing like children over some damn files when they should be sticking together like a comunity should. This is why most good hearted developers LEAVE xda because the developers are selfish and act like children. That's all i have to say on the matter. Now i tend to my CHILD. Take care xxxx

I don't understand why everyone starts to accuse people of basing their rom on others' source. Isn't that the whole poing of open source and sourse sharing?
This way, google should accuse and sue every single developer for using the Android source.
So lets just enjoy this ROM, and appreciate that there are still people who work for this device.
Okay I tested this rom and I have to say it's fast but 2 bugs : There is no signal ( probably simcard not detected but not sure) , graphical glitches ( everywhere, not only in YouTube app, the screen kinda tears and acts weird, everyone should know what I mean) . I tested it for a while and that's the bugs I found. It's fast ROM but the glitches and other bugs make me to not use this ROM for now.
