Google+ Hangouts on the Xoom - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone figured out how to do a Hangout in Google+ on the Xoom? The android app doesn't support it and browsers need a Google talk browser plugin that doesn't exist for Android.

The stock browser won't give you all the functionality. You need to download Dolphin browser. Set the user agent as desktop in settings. Works after that.

You sure about that?
Flash, AFAIK, doesn't support the mic/video yet. The plugin architecture isn't there on the Xoom's browser that Hangout needs, either.

Nope, Dolphin still asks for the Google talk and video plugin.

[Q] Facebook Widget issues
the facebook widget force closes at every attempt to use. I am running the initial build (not update 1 or 2). Is anyone else having this issue? Btw, the app works just fine.
Will not work on mine either
Yeah doesn't work on mine either
This is a stupid bug in facebook code where they pass a null intent and Honeycomb won't allow this. Same issue as Google Voice. Can be fixed, but not really worth it. Facebook widget sucks, and the app is updated often
I can't seem to be able to access Facebook through the stock browser or through the Facebook app. Is this a problem for anyone else or is it just me?
I think it is a Honeycomb and Facebook issue. I have the same issue on the Acer. Use another browser in Desktop mode and you should be fine.

Kinda works for me. I sometimes get redirected to the Mobile site where it just doesn't load the page and pretty much breaks it. Facebook chat lags, commenting photos lag and facebook games lag.
Use Flow for facebook, I installed it last night and works like a charm
I'm using the standard Facebook app and I have no issues at all.

And default browser in 'tablet' view mode. Working fine. Widget for the home screen in the app doesnt work though.
I haven't had any issues with the regular FB app but I use Friendcaster instead. Doesn't have all the features but it is optimized for HC.
Here is maybe a more generic FB question:
I am technically logged on as my real name, but I use my photography bus. as my main account. If this makes sense? I go Account - Use Facebook page as - then my photography bus.
It seems like on every app or on this tab I can't "switch" to use my photog bus. Any idea on what to do here?

For me FB on the browser or on the app is pretty bad. Any app that does better?

Have you tried Friendcaster? It is basically just your news feed but looks better since it is made for tablets.
My Facebook app force closes whenever I try to view "Friends." I thought the latest update was supposed to fix this, and indeed it has on Gingerbread, but it's still happening on Honeycomb.
im using FriendCaster THD at the moment. Works great but the widget is a bit puny.

Weren't we supposed to have Google chrome ...

I don't remember what forum I had seen it on but on ice they were supposed to replace our stock browser with a Google chrome browser. I wonder what happened.??

I believe the stock browser on ICS is the Chrome equivalent for Android. It should sync bookmarks and whatnot with your desktop Chrome browser.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sync Chrome bookmarks with sgt?

So, is it possible to sync my chrome bookmarks with sgt stock gingerbread browser? Sgt browser supports folders, so it should be possible right?
Are there any programs that allows me to do that?

Try bookmarks to SD. It's for Dolphin browser It allows you to sync from Google account to stock browser too I think...

There is Chrome to Phone app on Market. If you can't find it, post here, I'll upload it here.

[Q] chrome bookmarks in stock browser!?!?

How the hell do I get my chrome bookmarks in the stock browser like my tablet has! I purchased the app chromemarks thinking it would do it. But it will only let me access my bookmarks not transfer them to the stock browser. So i have to open the app first then auto tranafered to the browser.
If someone can shine some light at this. It will be appreciated and thanked
Might be a part of the ics update.

I doubt the stock browser would do it, but a different browser can. Currently you can't use it on our phone because the browser requires ICS, but chrome for android allows syncing.
Even though I do use chrome on my desktop, I read about the firefox beta today and it has that feature between the firefox desktop browser, so I might switch back to firefox for now.

Where the heck are our LOCAL BOOKMARKS stored?

Ok, I want to import my Dolphin Bookmarks to be seen as the Local Bookmarks for the stock browser. Any ideas?

OK turned off my chrome bookmark syncing from my desktop but it seems the stock browser is automatically looking for them anyway which is slowing things down.
There doesn't seem to be an option to turn off this behavior.

Ugh this is getting frustrating. The stock browser give us NO control over our bookmarks at all.
I want to import my Dolphin bookmarks to be used as the Local Bookmarks in the stock browser. No idea how.
Anyone know?

I was able to use the Bookmarks to SD extension for Dolphin to export my Dolphin bookmarks and then import into the stock browser.

Yes. Unfortunately it does not preserve any folders.
