I looked around but couldn't find anything relative to my question.
I dropped my Asus Transformer and although nothing is damaged as far as buttons, touchscreen or even the performance. The only issue is the back as a crack on it. I have searched on Google and have had no luck but I'm looking for the back cover and maybe the frame of the transformer. I know it's easy to replace as everything is just a unscrew and pop it off. I have all the tools necessary just no luck finding the back cover and border frame.
So my question is does anyone know where I might be able to find the frame or back. I know these devices are in such high demand that Asus probably hasn't developed parts for it. Also the warranty doesn't cover "mishandling" of the device.
Any info would be grateful. Thanks guys!
I guess in the worst case scenario where you can't find a replacement part or get them to fix it for you or return it... you could always get one of those silicone or whatever cases? The ones where you put a hard cover on the back of the device? It'd cover up the crack.
Do they even make those cases for the transformer?
You might be able to send it to Asus for repairs.
They do! I saw a youtube video of a white one. I'd totally get it just for the color.. but I do like the copper tone.
Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I do need the same back cover plate for my transformer. I have searched and googled but no joy

No mate.. What op and i are looking for is the original back plate and not a rubber cover /protection

my screen has stopped responding...i have yet to try to get it fixed but if asus wont fix it ... i believe im going to sell the transformer for scrap ...so u may be in luck ill let you know what happens with Asus and the warranty
Awesome! Let me know maybe we can work something out
Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk
Maybe we can figure something out. Especially since Asus told me they don't sell parts. You have to send it to them and they will charge you for what they fix. I need the back and the frame so whatever we can work out would be great.

stryke504, All i need is the back camera lens.. Believe it or not, its only held by glue and mine fell off. If you know how to disassemble the transformer you can access it when you remove the back. I can just get the one from your cracked case if its still intact
Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk
Well mine is still intact. If I can get his, after I take my back off I'll give it you.

Your a funny guy BRO that would might work but I cant get any of my PCs to recognize my phone so Im not rooted.Thats why Im looking for a good trust worthy pay site to order one thanks for ya help though
Have you already downloaded the SG4G drivers on all of your PCs? It would be odd that not even one of them worked. You're best bet to getting your phone unlocked, other than from at home, is to call T-mobile and ask them for the code. I heard they will be hesitant to give it to you if you haven't owned the phone for at least 3 months though.
As for myself, I don't know any sites that do this, sorry.
Yes Ive tried drivers some reason nothing works I must be getting the wrong drivers I dont get it.
Try uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling them, then rebooting your phone and PC.

You don't need to have tmobile. Just an imei number
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Also, did the guy from craigslist give you a generic USB cord or the official Samsung one? Not all of the generic USB cord provide syncing features, so they just charge the phone.

When i plug the phone into the pc the phone just charges thats it.Not sure if its the right cord or not.
I ended up finding a unlocker the guys actually called me to make sure what phone I had now Im running with AT&T go phone.I left tmobile because of the service was just awful in the area that I had to move to.Now I can make calls and text with full bars.
I really want to get this phone rooted so I can try out some roms.I sure miss the G2x was fun testing all the different ones it had
you have to buy a new USB plug! Went tthrough the same problem on my old vibrant I thought I bricked it because it wouldn't turn on,I sent it in and tthey fixed it and sent it back.. still undergoing the same problem I asked a friend for help. He said maybe it was the wire And tthat's exactly what it was. It is most likely without a doubt the wrong wire. Buy a new one!

That does make sense. Thanks for stating the obvious
My original cable got hosed (dropped it in a parking lot...D'oh!) and I bought a new T-Mobile branded one from the T-Mobile store. Was $14 or so, which I felt was robbery, but it works like a champ. I've had no problems flashing ROMs or anything with it.
I just looked the cord over man Im dumb and feel really stupid right now lol Its a LG cord. They say when you hit 40 ya go blind
Honestly, one wouldn't think the brand would matter. And no 40 jokes...hittin' 41 tomorrow

Oh just figured it was for just LG phones. It doesnt feel like it connects to the phone to snug either.
Hi, broke my phone week ago, got a Q; can they in the warranty service find out i´m on Thaiz 2.8 custom rom? If they find out, lose my warranty ´-`.
Experiences? Anyone? PHONE IS OMAP BROKEN. PCB CHANGE IS THE ONLY WAY I THINK!
If YOU can't unbrick it, so do they I think.
I sent mine for a power button repair with cm7 installed and nobody cared. They sent me back the same divice with a fresh mainboard indicated by the change in imei.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
im pretty much sure they should notice it^^ but otherwise lg is stupid as f**k xD

i hard bricked mine with cm7 on it and they never said any thing
NiiiCCCe.... they did not notice it and FREE warranty repair whitout warranty fucck lg XD
While LG might be able to argue a custom ROM has messed up the software environment, they would still be obliged to repair/ replace hardware that fails during the warranty period so if the phone is in for hardware failure I doubt they'd care about custom ROMs.
They usually ask you how you bricked the phone. If you play dumb enough to fool the employee into writing anything, the engineers won't mind
My experience, twice
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
I'm pretty sure xda had a video not too long ago saying something along the lines of, they can't technically reject it unless they can prove that what you did is the source of the problem. Like, if you volume keys don't work anymore, a custom ROM has nothing to do with that.

Has anyone whose phone was bricked by the pre-nightly cm 10.2 builds actually gotten their phone fixed via jtag?
I sent mine to mobiletechvideo on the 11th and I am still waiting for the phone. They contacted me yesterday to say that there was a problem with the repair and to ask for more information about how the brick happened, but I haven't heard back today.
I know H8rift mentioned that Zarboz was also willing to help out with his jtag device. So has anyone been successful yet? I haven't heard any reports from the martyrs for the cause yet.
I bricked my phone somehow a couple months ago (not via cm). I had the same story unfortunately. MTV refunded most of my cost and said they can swap in a new main board for $30 if I find a used evita that wasn't water damaged. Some day I'll take them up on that offer.
Anyone whose phone was damaged running cm 10.2?
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 4
I guess I will respond to my own post, again.
Apparently, mobiletechvideo can't fix it. They claim it is a bad power management chip. I am not sure that makes sense, given the circumstances.
I guess I will try and pm Zarboz and see if he has had any better luck with these.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 4
It might make sense seeing as there was mention of a power collapse commit causing the bricks in the 10.2 thread.

You could be right. What do I know?
I would like to find out if anyone else has been able to revive their phone, or if the bug is terminal.
Sent from my TouchPad using Tapatalk 4 Beta
What do you know? I hope you don't think I was suggesting anything mean there? Was just spitballing an idea.
I know Zarboz has managed to revive a couple of handsets from that group.

No, I didn't mean that sarcastically. I really don't know if their diagnosis is accurate or not.
Out of curiosity, how do you know Zarboz has been successful?
Sent from my TouchPad using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I talk to Zarbox regularly.

Well, I just heard back from Zarboz and he said he has run into the same problem mobiletechvideo reports. So, I guess that answers the question. How depressing.

Nope, Ill tell you what happened. I have been having problems with the evolution mods kernel rebooting my phone, after i tried the "fixed" version.
So i flashed the full firmware from the 1.55.602 update (im running a stock rom with bloating removed) and i removed the hboot from the zip. Since im running a custom hboot with the text removed. Thinking i could just reflash the stock kernel.
i flashed it, did a fastboot reboot and now its deader than a hammer.
no charge, no usb activity, no turn on. dead as can be. Ill take any and all suggestions. I know my way around pretty well, so im surprised that its bricked. But its the first M8 brick, unless someone has a clever idea?

In other news, i got a new phone, so i have brick with a good esn if anyine is interested, but i would rather find someone who would be willing to try and jtag it for the good of the community
My condolences on the device, but you sir should be applauded for not going the route of "warranty" on a device that died by your hand. Does seem odd that you can't even get it to charge though.
Sent it to HTC to get fixed out of warranty. I let everyone know what they charge to unbrick. Besides, they would have figured it out anyways then charged me

It's super bricked. I flash firmware on single board computers at my job for medical equipment. We have bricks occasionally. But we can jtag out of it. I assume the same can be done if there is a header location available on the processor board. Couldn't find anybody who has jtagd one yet to do it.

well, its at HTC (en route) right now. It should get there wed/thurs. If i get a bad case of sticker shock, illl get it sent back. If they can fix it for reasonable, then i will get it fixed. I am a big fan of your effort to free these android devices. So if they want too much, id be happy to send it to you. Maybe you can prevent the next one from occuring. BTW firewater is an amazing piece of work, i must say

No worries, hopefully you can get it fixed reasonable. Kudos for being honest about it, most people would claim warranty.
Actually I dont mind buying devices. Just for something like this I wouldnt feel good intentionally bricking a $600 device. I do it enough on accident

So i had edged up from my M7, ended up selling that for 400. Got the M8, had 2 payments made, bricked it. So i had to pay off the 500 on the edge. Now whats interesting if you early payoff the edge, you are out of contract, COMPLETELY. So i ended up with a free standard upgrade, so i was able to edge again. thats a FYI if anyone is interested. Kinda sucks, but i made my money back already fixing computers this week. Any idea what i did wrong, i have flashed M7 & M8's & DNA's so many times....I know my way around. Im still baffled
