The missed calls cannot be cleared from the top notifications tray/drawer even after clicking them thru a 3rd party program. I've to use the stock dialer every time to clear them. I have seen this problem with many 3rd party dialer's i've tried. I use GO Contacts. Though SMS notifications get cleared but not missed calls. I have the similar problem with HTC desire S also. Any solution
PS- My Nexus S is not rooted
Thanks

Hey all,
My boss has a problem on his Moto Droid. In the text messaging app when he goes to compose a new message, and then type the name of the person he wants to send to. After the 3rd letter, when it goes to search for all the users, it crashes. It only crashes on certain users that are typed in.
When I use Handcent SMS, it does not crash at all. He does not seem to like Handcent SMS and still wants to use the stock messaging app.
This phone has not been modded or rooted or anything like that. I have tried rebooting the phone and doing a battery pull. A wipe would be the worst case scenario.
Any other suggestions would be great.
Ok, here is the deal bitaches =):
We seen Darky (ROM maker) implement GOSMS in his ROM. It's really good application. You can quick reply and all of other sorts of stuff that stupid stock SMS can't do.
Problem that I examined A LOT is the followoing:
Firstly, you shut down all kinds of notifications of stock SMS app. That goes well. So you don't get two SMS alerts.
But one thing stays and it's ANNYOING. Herei is screenshot: http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/3637/screenshotjm.png
Even if you read SMS with GO SMS this icon is still on main menu and it shows up SMS number that DOESEN'T EVEN EXIST. I mean, if you even delete SMS from GOSMS it's still there... it's ridicilous.
I tried to delete stock SMS app but then GO SMS lags (and every other SMS app that I tried, like 4 of them) and sometimes notification doesen't even pop up.
If I freeze stock SMS app that's like I deleted it so same ignorant stuff is happening. It's like magic circle you can't solve.
Anyone got solution how to have stock SMS app installed (so everything works properly) but in a way it doesen't pop up stupi number of SMS beside stock SMS icon?
Thanks.
It seems that it's TWLauncher problem. Installing something like GO Launcher fixes it.
Thanks, you can close thread.
Hello,
I have tried attn1's ROMS as well as Android Revolution 4G (currently using), and I have the same problem every time.
After an hour or so after a fresh reboot, my text messages stop notifying me about half the time. For example when I get a text message, about half the time I won't even know (no ring, no vibrate, nothing in the status bar) until I open the actual messaging application and it'll say I have a new message. Am I the only one experiencing this?
I have tried wiping the phone, clearing data, wiping partitions, clearing the Davlik (sp?) cache. Any help would be appreciated.
Have you tried a 3rd party messaging app? I use Handcent and it's notifications work wonderfully for me. I've seen a few other posts about weird things with their notifications in the stock messaging app, and it appears to be something devs are aware of just waiting for what they need to fix.
Now I love both these above software but a bug is driving me crazy.
The missed calls cannot be cleared from the top notifications tray/drawer even after clicking them thru a 3rd party program. I've to use the stock dialer every time to clear them. I use HTC Desire S Gingerbread 2.3.3. And surprising this bug is there on both the software.
Does anybody else also face this problem? Any solution???
One thing I liked about the stock Messaging app was the ability to tap a contact photo and instantly have it bring up the floating contact with address and so forth. So if my friends was texting me to meet at his place, with 2-3 taps I could see his address in Maps. Is there any way to jump to the contact in Hangouts? If not, I might have to switch to a third-party app as this is an experience killer for me.
There hasn't been away as far as I've found

Hmm so I downloaded 8sms as I thought it might be a suitable replacement. It looked great, just like the stock messaging app. Made it default. Came back and it couldn't load any of my conversations. Rebooted and it looked fine. Then opened it a second time and again lost my conversations. Switched back to Hangouts and my messages were still missing after a reboot. Opened 8sms again and my threads were there, went back to Hangouts and my threads were there.
Something very strange is going on with the 3rd party functionality in KitKat.
