Hello Everyone,
I found out that this section needs a decent wallpaper thread. Therefore I would like to share some HQ wallpapers. I hope you like it.
Notes:
1. The wallpapers are optimized for landscape mode. If you want to portrait the photo. Use your launcher or photo editing app to do so. There are many apps in the market that can help you achieve that.
2. I will try my best to keep the wallpaper categorized according to Genre (eg. Nature, Games etc). Each pack contains 10 (Ten) images.
3. Files sizes vary since I didn't want to compromise the quality of any photo.
4. Check Back for updates.

Really? I thought it's just me. So, there isn't something wrong with my eyes.
I use Quick Pic now, it's much more better in quality.
Its a known Samsung bug (pixilization on scaling via the gallery app). It's been there since Froyo they havent fixed it ever since. Use quick pick as an alternative.
thanks man. Its awesome
Thank you very much. Some nice pictures there.
Thanks for this.
Very nice pictures.
Thank you !

My second app!
This is a live wallpaper of Mario playing randomly generated levels. Every once in a while, a level ends and a new one begins. There are three themes for levels: outside, underground and castle. They appear in that order.
Have a look at wallpaper's settings! You might find something interesting there. Like the ability to change FPS, or to disable level background (making levels darker).
By default, this live wallpaper is in the playback mode. If you switch it to AI mode, it tends to waste a considerable amount of battery power because of the artificial intelligence, which is rather complex. The fact that the wallpaper is nice enough to be stared at for long periods of time, doesn't help that situation either.
By default, this wallpaper is set up to have a low priority. This is good, but not if your device is running a CPU intensive app. So - if the wallpaper is very slow on your device (something like 2 frames per second), consider looking at battery logs to find application(s) that waste a lot of CPU time.
And, at last, as all my work, this live wallpaper is donation supported too. So if you like it, consider buying be a cup of much needed cofee or a pizza.
See the video of how it looks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g58o9w0bg4
Issues? Read the FAQ in the next post below.
To get the live wallpaper, use this link from the android device, or this QR code:
<no longer available via market because of a legal claim by Nintendo>
Or, download this APK if you don't have the market on your device or for some reason don't see it there.

Frequently asked questions - FAQ
I've downloaded and installed it. How do I set it up as a Live Wallpaper?
Follow this procedure:
go to your home screen
press the menu button on your device
select "Wallpaper"
select "Live Wallpapers" *
search and select for "Mario Live Wallpaper"
select "Settings" to see the settings or select "Set wallpaper" to activate it
(* if you don't see "Live Wallpapers" option in the "Select wallpaper from" menu then your device probably doesn't support Live Wallpapers)
What is the difference between "AI Mode" and "Playback Mode"?
Playback mode uses prerecorded plays, so Mario doesn't think but just "plays back" one of the 1000 or so levels from memory. AI mode makes Mario smart, and he will use artificial intelligence to complete the level. AI mode uses MUCH MORE BATTERY, and also might not work correctly on some older devices due to lack of memory and processing power.
I've turned "AI Mode" on and this wallpaper wastes a lot of battery. What can I do?
That's just how the Mario's artificial intelligence is, very demanding on the phone's resources. Turn the AI Mode off or if you absolutely want it, you can disable course background and decrease FPS to remedy the issue.
Why does this Live wallpaper require internet access?
It's to download and show ads. They appear in the Live wallpaper's settings.
I can't find this on the market. Where is it?
Your phone is probably unsupported. If you're sure that your phone supports live wallpapers, you can try manually installing with the APKs that are at the end of the post above.
I can't download the APK. My phone says "Cannot download. The content is not supported on this phone". What to do?
Don't download it with your phone! The default browser in Android doesn't support downloading APK files. Try this:
download AndroZip from the market. It's a file browser app
download the latest APK from the first page of this thread, do it with your PC
transfer the APK to the phone's SD card
on the phone, go to Settings -> Applications -> check "Unknown sources"
launch AndroZip, search for the APK on the sd card, and select it. You should be offered to install the live wallpaper
later when installed, go to home screen, press the menu key, select Wallpaper -> Live Wallpapers, search for Mario Live Wallpaper and select it
This is so cool! How about you theme it like this game? Or make another like this other game? Or maybe that game?
This is not likely going to happen because of copyright issues. The Mario Live Wallpaper is made from free and open-source material (check About in the settings) while any other game (even themes from Super Mario) are a no-go because the vast majority is proprietary and copyrighted.
This LWP is very cool. Thanks! How can I contribute?
In a number of ways:
by contacting me if you have any issues, not mentioned in this FAQ
by saying thanks
by buying me a cup of coffee or a pizza
OMG
this is awesome!
GREAT!
i really laughed when seeing it!
really really great ^^
do you know how many battery it takes?
whats happening when there is a fullscreen app launched? i assume than the wallpaper is stopped?
edit: maybe a random difficult level could be good, so that he sometimes uses 1 or sometimes 15 every level different difficulty? randomly maybe?
haha thats really cool!
It lags a little though for me when I flip between screens, especially one with a scrolable widget.
Thank you for share with us

On my device it usually shows 10%. Yes, of course, the wallpaper pauses when it's not visible.
Good suggestion! I'll consider it. Right now the difficulty is actually random between what ever you set and up to 3 higher. So if you set 4, the difficulty will be random from 4 to 7.

It's supposed to lag. This means that it gives priority to your home screen and widgets. It you don't like this behaviour, turn off low priority from the settings, but then everything will lag. As I said, Mario's AI is complex.
can't find in market even when scanning QR code.
this is ridiculously awesome.
Awesome! Thank-you. It would be great if you made a version based on Super Mario World 1...

Nice job! *10char*
Very sweet and surprisingly smooth with Launcher Pro.
I downloaded the .apk from the first post and I'm running it on cyan 5.0.8. For some reason Mario is off the right side of the screen, so I can't see him actually jumping over anything or doing anything. Is this wallpaper supposed to be used in landscape mode or is something wrong with my install?
awesome!
found on market on 2.1
The best!!!
simply brilliant !

The view should align with homescreens. If you're in the center homescreen, Mario should be at the center.
He might be shifted to the right in the live wallpaper preview mode, since that is the "zero" position.

Initial impression is that its very confussing and difficult to use... it took me a while to work out what I was looking at. Don't get the widget folder as it negates what a widget is. I do like the potential concept, but this really needs a lot more thought into user experience.
To start with look at changing the folder controls to make them easier to select.
This is a very original approach and I'll going to watch this one with interest...

Often only shows black screen on HTC legend.
The dock icons are too big and there is hardly any customization possible.
But it is a really interesting idea and different from other launcher. I'll stay tuned.

We would really appreciate any more detail you can provide about Widgets. We are tweaking the UI throughout the beta program and any additional ideas or recommendations would be really helpful.

Unless I'm missing something the only place to add widgets is in the folder at the top of the screen. This limited the use of widgets... for example if I add a 2x2 clock thats all I can see and use unless I expand the folder. This is compounded by the difficulty in using the folder controls. Widgets are supposed to provide quick and easy access and viewing of apps and info you use most, currently this is lost in Claystone... If you could make widget use a little more traditional it would go a long way...
Like I said previously though the whole user experience would be vastly improved if you added larger controls to the folders making it quick and easy to expand/close etc.
Like ms_green says the dock is a little large and it makes the screen feel a little cramped.
A very short review, sorry for being blunt:
* On my Droid Incredible: great, now applications are even smaller/hard to read. UI is not very responsive. Toolbar buttons are too small but making them any bigger would mean even less real estate.
* Tablet: Ooooh now you're talking! The layout makes much more sense, especially in landscape mode. This is actually getting closer to WebOs' take on multitasked UI.
I think this app has a great future on tablets.
Ima dl right now

This is great!!! VERY GOOD!!! the concept is amazing
things u might want to improve:
The loading speed of panels are slow. Even opening the appdrawer takes no less than 3 seconds, not to mention browser etc
When u scroll vertically but a bit sideways on a panel it just pops u into another panel, very excruciating
Panels. seriously, all u can have is a home panel and a widget panel? i want to make my own (not just folders) for example media, games etc
"items" u can add. to be honest all there is is file explorer, browser and youtube (not to mention the youtube one really sucks). U need more of these "items", but i understand this is a beta
lol no offense
I could see this possibly having potential on a bigger screen, like a tablet maybe. But as it stands things feel too cramped on my 3.7 inch screen. Also things are a bit slow atm.
It's an interesting concept, but implemented in a moderately confusing fashion. The widget box resizes widgets oddly, making things look bulky, etc.
Great idea, though.
Opening the inbuilt contacts force closes the app for me.
But apart from that, a brilliant concept! I can't wait for new additions! Great job

You can create more panels ("folders") as well, you can copy and paste any item in any panel. In our next drop we are going to make it simple by adding applications to the "create" menu.

Does anyone else experience on their TF an obvious slow down in overall performance when using a live wallpaper? The only time I don't experience the lag is when I am in an already third-party application BUT when I use the homescreen controls like settings and app switching...that lags. Stock browser performance is worse too.
It seems that the only live wallpapers that don't cause any obvious slow down are the ASUS offered ice cube in water and halo spiral.
Any ideas as to why?
I have downloaded live wallpapers that were specifically made for HC including the GT's for Touchwiz (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169061) and others on the market and they just slow everything down.
Well, not many are actually optimized for tablets. But beyond that, you have to remember it is rendering something at 1280x800 continuously, besides the launcher. So it will eat away at some performance no matter what.
The only one I've found that doesn't have much performance decrease is Light Grid. That one runs pretty great on my TF without slowing things down much. I have it set to cycle large black, gray, and white squares.
Makes sense, and thanks about light grid, I will try that out!
I tried the androidify live wallpaper, and although it is kind of lame, it works great too.
I use my beach hd no lag for me
don't forget to bring a towel!

The ones that were updated are the featured LWP.. Ive collected 148 in the past 5 months with maybe 10 of those that cause lag.
SwampWater is my favorite. I emailed the developer who just got a tablet and found interest in developing again ...I emailed thanking him and saying its awesome looking. He recently added colors and more bugs.
SwampWater
Text clock Pro
Symphony of colors
Stars pro
Seeds of life (sperm) lol
Rolling Cat ($2.99) Nothing special i just wanted the cat
Prismatic
Rays of light
Pretty wallpapers (uses 2 layers to choose from).2 Animations and 1 color
PolarClock Live wallpaper
Particle storm
Nightfall Live wallpaper (payed)
Photile Pro
Light Grid Pro (one of the best IMO)
Light Grid Holiday Theme
Nexus Revamped Pro
Moon Phase (free or Payed)
Jump gate (payed)
IBM Watson Avatar Pro (the one that has scrolling words in the preview pic)
The ones I listed are 1$ and some are free or have a trial version
Anything from developer XLLUSION, JASON ALLEN and KITTEHFACE SOFTWARE
The only one from Jason Allen that doesnt work is a Panda sitting in a cup (to new he hasn't upgraded the code yet).
The Bamboo and Panda does work perfectly .
There ares to many to list, those are the ones that work perfectly.. Your best bet is explore the developers other LWP apps. if 1 works, he has most likely updated the rest.
Most the LWP on the list have multiple that work on Tablets , for example Rays of Light. If you select the developer other apps, his other LWP appear I did not not add to the list. From Rays of light you could get 5 or 6 more that work.. Im very picky on live wallpapers. I dont buy just anything..
Please help us test 2 new live wallpapers.
1. Bleed - Screen will bleed. When you touch empty area a new bleed will start. (latest version) - release on Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.creativehandzsolutions.bleed
2. Balloon - simple floating balloon.
Respond on following events
1. Touch balloon body will make push it back
2. Touch balloon's bottom to blow it.
3. Touch string to pause it for a moment.
Question -
In balloon should we give background image choose option?
We have not tried these apps on tablets. I would appreciate if someone could test our wallpaper on droid tablet.
Any other suggestion regarding.
Great! Tried both and i like the balloons one. No bugs what i can find.

Realistic "bleeding"
I have tried both. I liked balloon the best but you could maybe make the bleeding wallpaper more realistic? It would look a lot better but don't do it if its going to cause a stir ( some people may think dripping red liquid is blood).
thanks for trying out guys
nice interaction.
Good job
Changed the bleed wallpaper according to feedback
Hi All,
Thanks for the feedback. I have uploading the new apk file with some modification. This should look better.
Let me know if this version looks better than the previous one.
I think if we want to make bleed more realistic we have to show some body part. But would not that much reality be bad for a wallpaper . Just a thought.

Hi guys,
I have released a game called Flicky Circles. Flicky Circles is simple, fast and thinkful android game to play with your friends or against a computer. Originally inspired by OLO. Flicky Circles is free in a small size apk. Give it a try. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you for your support!
About:
Each player starts with 6 circles in 3 different sizes. Circle gets smaller each time it lands on player's starting point (white color). Goal is to flick your circles into same colored ending zone and achieve more points than opponent. With two or more same sized circles, player gets a bonus point...
Supported:
- any resolution from 320x480 - 1080x1920
- android 2.3 and higher.
More details on google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goranhorvat.flickycircles
FB fan page:
https://www.facebook.com/FlickyCircles
I hope you will like it.
I would like to have some opinions about Flicky Circles. Have you tried? Is there "missing" something in the game and would make it more playable for you?
Very nice, really polished and a great interface. Fun game idea. The text in the help screen/intro could use some polish.
"Each player starts with an equal amount of circles representing their moves."
"Each circle gives the player a point when it reaches their colored zone. If 2 congruent circles are landed, the player gets a bonus point"
"Reach the colored space and flick away towards the opponents circles to defeat the opponent."
"Player captures the opponent's circle if it lands in their starting area. The circle becomes smaller."
"Lock button freezes circles in place for one round. It can only be used once per game."
Feel free to tweak those for brevity if you need to.
Also, on the game pause screen, the text doesn't change colors when you tap it like it does on the main menu. This kind of has a jarring effect because you can't tell if it detected your touch or not.
Thank you for helping me with words. I will update these things including pause screen UI in the next version.
Downloaded
This looks like a fun game. Just downloaded it. I'll take it for a spin this weekend and give you my feedback
Lookout flags it as adware
I've just installed it and Lookout pop's up a message "Flicky Circles" is adware
See attached screenshot
EDIT: it also gives this detail:-
APP REPORT
CLASSIFICATION: Adware.Android.Rev.Mob.a
This app may contain the RevMob ad network. It may create push notification ads that appear in your notification bar. It may not be clear to you that this application is creating these ads. It also may send personally identifying information, such as your email or IMSI, to RevMob’s servers.
Hi fangthorn, I don't use Lookout, so thanks for detailed explanation. I'll remove revmob from Flicky Circles within 24hours.
I had a quick go at lunchtime. I can see this being very addictive
Apart from the popup ad it's a fun game :good:
Looking nice
Games looking nice, but not able to play in my defy.
My defy is running JB 4.1.2 (Quarx), when I open game menu screen will come and when I press single or double player again it s return to main menu with different color, is this problem with rom r .................
Thanks
Hi navin, I don't understand exactly what kind of problem you have? Can you play Flicky Circles? Colors are supposed to change each play.
graylowes, thank you for your feedback.
I downloade it just for giggles, but i really like it.
Its simple and addictive. And the 2 Player mode on one device is
cool. i´ll play it with a friend the next days and see how they like it.
Good Job! Hope for more cool thing to come!
Great job!:good:
game play is very good, a little fast i think but very good!
improving sound tracks would be nice and if possible adding some effects like Menu sound effect in OLO

Currently no plan for sound fx. But in the near future, I will try to add some levels where you can build some flicking skills. I hope players will like it.

My favorite game right now
I find this wonderful game to be so easy, fun, yet still has some strategy to it to keep your mind going. Bite sized games, but I keep going back again and again and again. Fantastic job! Five stars! Thank you, very much.

Hi guys,
I have released a game called Flicky Circles.

I hope you will like it.

Hi Harvey!
I'm a big big fan of OLO on iPad... and I was really missing this game on Android (and OLO devs clearly state they are not planning to dev their game for the android platform...), so I'm very very happy that you are here developping FlickyCircles... Very promising game, thank you
:good::good::good::good::good:
Just a a few questions:
1) could you add an online play mode? (hopefully not through facebook)
2) can you list all the differences vs OLO in terms of rules and counting points? (in particular coming from OLO, I'm a bit confused about captures (when and how))
3) I hate facebook (yes, I'm quite old fashion...) ... any other way to store and share high scores?
Keep the great work )
EDIT____________________________________
Ok, I've tested further and I don't like too much your capture method because:
1) the smallest circles can't be captured (thus limiting some strategic moves)
2) we end up playing with small circles only, which is also limiting because the small ones are much less powerful
I prefer the OLO capture method where all circles are not shrunk when captured but each circles can only be captured twice (circle that can no more be captured are flickering for a brief moment). Could you maybe offer this different capture method as an option?

I'm glad you like my game.
1. Not yet, but I'll spend some time in the future and try to implement it.
2. Please visit help in the game. All rules are listed there, except maybe that lives of the circles depends on their sizes. So therefore, the smallest circle can't get any smaller and you loose it if it lands on the white zone.
3. Currently no. I made sharing with facebook just for fun. If I want to add other sharing options, game would become much larger (in KB)...
But I'm thinking of having online scores inside Flicky Circles, if that's what you prefer?
Thank you Surfinette and ghostinrags!
thanks
Thanks for sharing
