[Q] Sumixe 7inch tablet - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi all,
I have started this thread after not being able to find any information besides specs on my Sumixe 7inch tablet running 2.1 eclair on it.
I purchased the device from Chinavision (big mistake) and havent been able to get any info out of them regarding firmware.
In the insturction manual provided it shows you how to update the device, But because it was translated into very poor english it is like reading in brail (imposible if you don't know what your looking at). I tryed to follow there procedure to update my device. But this was unsuccesfull.
I then contacted chinavision to get the manufacturs details but they cannot provide me with them.
So i need some help trying to recover a bricked tablet.
First off all where can i get drivers for FWDN for a telechips 8900 arm 11 procersor?
Second can someone dump a copy of there original firmware online for me.
Third. Does anyone know how to get into get into recovery mode on this device after new firmware was installed.
The reason why i want this info is because chinavision want me to pay for shipment back to china which i think is rediculas as it was there crap translation that caused my device to brick.
I would also like to ask the devs to make this thread sticky as there is no info on the net regarding this device that can help. And i know that someone on XDA has a solution
Thanks in advance
Gazlufc

i came across this tablet on digg, and then wanted to find out more about this tablet and looked on google..i dont know much about it but i found a page where you can get some manufacturer details
http://www.eriktronica.com/sumixe-7-inch-android-tablet-with-wifi-and-camera..html
scroll down a little
about firmware you can try to manually flash same firmware you had before bricking.. or try(if there is such a way) to go to recovery mode factory reset it.
dont you have some sort of warranty?? to send it back or go to a service or something?
i hope this is useful for you, good luck with your tablet!

Hye pforlin,
Because i orderd my tablet from chinavision they want me to send it back. the cost of sending it back from the netherlands is 20% of the sale value. so not really worth it. I have tryed to do a factory reset, and tryed to get in to recovery mode but havent been succesfull.
I hope i can find someone who has had the same issue to try and get it resolved.
Thanks for your info and ill keep posting to let you know the update

[Q] Cyberpad iView 7xx TPC Rooting?

Anyone doing any "development" rooting, firmware flashing, CWmods etc on iView tablet/phones?
I found someone who did actually...named: eyeoncomputers (hey there!) who made a very comprehensive and excellent Youtube tutorial seen here (I hope this is allowed), titled:
IVIEW 760TPC Advanced Improvements - Flashing Firmware, Custom Scripts & more...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fATLTulwdQg
So now, at least I know it can be done on an iView....
I'm tempted to just go for it....unfortunately, a 760TPC spec is pretty much too far off from a 792 TPC model (dual sim phone capabilities + 2G/3G + GPS/A-GPS connectivities which will most likely get messed up) if I flash it...and without any firmware back-up I'd most likely brick it before I could say I have root!)
Basically...I just want the 792 TPC rooted (for backing up purposes Titanium back up needs root right?)....so has anyone done it yet? or knows how to do it? or maybe an idea on how to go about it? Anyone? :-?

My friend have an Iview-795TPC tablet but seems like a different story for them.
One of the kids or someone changed the lock pattern and one day the owner tried to open and locked after several attempts of trials.
Now, it asks for an email account and password of the (last) user who created and accessed the tablet but even the owner's account (email & password) seems like can't open it.
I also tried the HARD RESETTING of this gadget because when they sent it to me to do the remedy or fix it back to factory settings, I cannot undo it. Even I followed all the instructions and step-by-step procedures on the YouTube video, still cannot restore it.
Is anybody successfully tried to restore back to factory setting of this IView Tablet Model 975TPC?
I appreciate it to someone help me on this situation. Link or simple tutorial-instructions can do.
Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately, I cannot tell you about this tablet because it's my friend's gadget but I found out that it's okay to use for starters and I'm an ACER Tab user (A500),
I only brought this attention because my pal couldn't fix it. :fingers-crossed:

iview 797tpc
I just purchased the Iview 797 TPC with jellybean 4.1.2.
These just released mid 2013, and have been looking all over for firmware, etc.
Not much out there for these models.
I had it connected to PC and the phone icon on desktop through media espresso said HTC generic.
So possibly these are clones of HTC.
These tabs are excellent except for the sound, they are to quiet for playback and handset volume.
So my question is can developers put aside the higher end models and get some ROMs for a Iview.
I would at least like to get jellybean 4.3 or even a piece of that KitKat .......
Flash / install the firmware

Now that I have downloaded the firmware, how do I put on the device? I don't have Windows (or rather would like not to use it).
I did successfully installed Android 4.4 on a Transformer Prime not so long ago, so I am comfortable with adb and fastboot tools.
Does anyone know?

[Q] Indipad 10" Unblock or ROM

Hi, just recently some student tablets started to drop in my shop with problems, the latest one was an Indipad 10" made by LGS Caribbean, that is ALL the info I know about it since there are no labels anywhere in the tablet or the box, my guess is a generic Chinese re-branded tablet and it looks like is running ICS 4.0.1 but can't be sure since is locked with a number password. The client brought the tablet in cause her child was playing with it and activated the password screen lock and of course the child doesn't remember what he typed in. :silly:
I'm either looking to unlock the tablet, factory reset it or re-flash stock rom.
I already tried using the volume +/-/power combo for the recovery but it takes me to the android boot error screen, so I guess it has no recovery installed or it was deleted on purpose by the company. Also tried entering a lot of failed passcodes to see if it brings the account recovery option, but is a no go.
Did a Google search to see if I could also find a rom to flash on it but since I'm limited on the info about it nothing has come up.
Many thanks for any help.
No one?
Same thing right here. But i can tell you it is running android 4.0.4, and the build number is: crane_m1003h6-eng 4.0.4 IMM76D 20120921. Of course as you may know the 20120921 is the date so my guess is that it depends on how many updates those tablets have received already. Anyway, the recovery works, cus i have one in here working and you can access recovery from inside android(when you go to factory reset it gives you an option to do so, i did and it works perfect). But again just like you said, It wont work using hardware buttons. I was trying to find someone who can contact me from LGS Carribean but no luck at all. Just nothing, i have a working INDIPAD at this moment and thats how im telling you whats the firmware version and build. Like you said on your post, its an issue dealing with generic tablets it really is. I have not found even a similar enough firmware for the tablet to flash, but i can confirn you can use LiveSuitPack to flash them. Only issue is that i havent found a firmware to do so lol.... And ive look just about everywhere. Im going to run USB deview to check what the real hardware is and brand, if im able to find something ill let you know M8
Many thanks, client called in today and told her I'm still looking for a solution. Will wait for what you find.
Did you get this resolved?
Not yet, @home atm, so I'll check tomorrow for an update.
Seems we still on the black
Yes we are, so far i can tell you the processor is an A10, so its an A10 device. It shows as T10a for manufacturer, but so far thats all i can tell you. There might be a way to pull the firmware image from a working Indipad so that we have something to flash on the password protected ones. But for now, we are all waiting on something
Have same issue

My mother-in-law is an English teacher and has several students with the same issue with a password they forgot or they locked the tablet on accident. I haven't been able to factory reset, but when you mentioned T10a, a quick Google search led me to show that EKEN makes T10a tablets.
I hope I'm not leading you down a rabbit trail, but here is their support site with manuals and firmware downloads
Also, searching on XDA apparently there is a way to get CWM on the EKEN T10a and instructions to flash to their latest ROM.
I haven't had a lot of experience with flashing ROMs, but I have flashed my personal devices before. So please let me know if this is possible in any way. I wouldn't want to mess something up. Well, I hope this helps.

Sweet, I'll do a hardware comparison tomorrow with EKEN T10a and see if they are identical devices (at least from the outside), if they match I'll just try that. The device is a brick atm so it doesn't matter trying to experiment with it.

The one for T10A, version "T10 G-SENSOR6225".
I also had a bit of a problem at first trying to boot it into flash mode, but what I did was go to the device manager in Windows and saw that there where 2 copies of the special driver that the "LiveSuitPack_version_1.09_20111101.exe" installs, one with the checkmark like they said, the other I assumed was the tablet connected, so I deleted the one with checkmark and tried again, this time it went through and started the flashing process which took less than 2 minutes.
Straight after attaching the cable, and whilst still holding down the volume+ button, start pressing the tablet power button repeatedly. This (slightly frenzied) procedure puts the tablet into update mode.

That was the tricky part, to make it boot into flash mode, it has to be fast between connecting and starting to press the buttons, I took like a 1 second delay between the two things.
Also, got to point out I didn't do the CWM or the root mod, just did the firmware flash cause that's what the client wanted.
Its allright buddy, and thanks. Thing is that i was trying to update it as it said on the Ekken website. But the tablet didnt accept the SdCard update at all. I told you it should be done using LiveSuit and yet i was afraid of bricking the device using LiveSuit ha ha.... Thanks a lot guys, case solved. It took all of us to do so but hey, we made it!!!!

Their server is kinda slow but I use Free Download Manager to download big files and speed up the download.
Also remember this was an experiment and it worked by chance, so no guarantee that it will for every indiPad out there, specially if the manufacturer changes the hardware, you should check the hardware info on the tablet just to make sure we are talking about the same tablet model or you could brick your device.
thanks bro, i know about rom experimental, i think same tablet from Puerto Rico, indiPAD, same eken t10a.
Can you tell me please what file worked on your tablet? i see some files

Ok. It is not fixed. I can not turn off the tablet. If I do it will not turn back on. I have to put it back in to Mask Mode and reflash. It will not keep it. Anyone has any help or suggestions?
Strange ... it's not that old. I looked it up out of curiosity and it was being reviewed as something 'new' at the very end of 2013.
You mentioned not seeing a download (of any kind) for your tablet on the AOC web site, but you didn't mention whether or not you've phoned the company's '800' number, or if you've spoken with one of their service technicians.
Did you come across this page, headed Centros de Servicio, for Chile?
For some reason, the "Q-series" does not show on their web site, but perhaps if you can get to speak with a technician, you could explain your problem?

Looking at the linked page, in addition to the company's '800' number, there are 13 AOC service centers in Chile, each with its own phone number and each with at least one technician? You don't need a warranty repair, just someone to tell you where to get flashing instructions.
If no luck in Chile, try contacting AOC in another country, where they may have better support for the 'Q series' of tablets.
AOC (Admiral Overseas Corporation International) isn't a 'shoestring operation'. The company dates back to its 1934 founding, in the US. Keep on trying, don't give up so easily.
I have also emailed AOC USA
Someone named 'Patricio' has a kernel for your tablet. You didn't say you needed that, but if they are working with your tablet at that level of complexity, this might be a source to find out why your ROM won't 'stick' after flashing.
There's also someone else, from Chile, working with your tablet's firmware. He also should know how to make your ROM flash 'stick'.
This may or may not apply to AOC tablets, but with the non-branded phone imports, it has been known for a manufacturer to keep the same model name but make hardware changes on later production runs. If you get an expert's flashing instructions and it still doesn't work, then look for internal identification numbers and see if that matches with the ROM's source.
As you may know, that match has to be 100% or the firmware won't work after flashing.
Yes Patricio has shared the stock images with me but when I tried to flash it it said that I need a rk3188loader.bin. I tried with a rk3188loader.bin from a ROM from Oma´s Pipo U8. It wouldn't go past the AOC Splash screen. So I flashed Oma´s Pipo U8 but it will not stay if I turn off the tablet. I don't know much about rk3xxx. I use too Samsung android. They are way different. The way the Roms are built and the way they flash.
???
I guess I need the rk3188loader for the stock ROM.
Does anyone know anything about flashing rockchip devices? Do I need a different rk3188loader.bin? Are they the same for all? I am trying to understand this.
Patricio gave me a different parameter.img than came in the KitKat ROM and I haven't installed any of the apps that came in the ROM. I don't know which one it is but I can reboot the phone or turn it off and it turns back on. I think it was me deleting the apps I don't use in the system like google+ mxplayer ( because I use mxplayer pro) but it works ? thanks to everyone for the help.

[Completed] [Q] HTC One m7 - Unrooting issues

Hi everyone!
Terribly sorry this is my first post here and im looking for something, been reading through the site for the past few months but never registered.
I recently bought a HTC One M7, updated to 4.4.2 but rooted so i cannot get OEM updates.
It has ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.8 istalled, busybox and SuperSu.
Im trying to unroot it and get it back to factory standard, its not for the warranty that really doesnt matter to me.
I just need some expert guidance if possible and just to be pointed in the right direction would be more then enough as there is so much information to try and retain lol.
I have been browsing through threads but im terrified i end up doing something wrong and bricking my phone.
Im living in Ireland and my phone was supplied by an operator called 'Meteor' so im a bit confused as to what method to take and where to get the exact oem stock software that will enable me to get back and let me update past 4.4.2
If anyone could link me a few threads or help in any way that would point me in the guaranteed right direction would be great, and also any information where i could get the exact file file i need to flash to get it back to stock, i understand the radio etc needs to correspond with my network operator.
Many thanks in advance for this one
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I'd suggest you take a look at this thread:
[GUIDE] How to Return to 100% Stock
No response in two days, thread closed.

[Completed] Can Clockwork or another recovery program find and backup your truly stock ROM?

My question current is really about better understanding something in this whole Root and Linux learning adventure I think I am totally confused about.
Basically if no custom ROM exist or your device is not listed on the supported list of devices in any recovery program....
OR as in my case you want desperately to get the thing back running on it's true stock what do you do?
Your rooted, but stuck.
So my main question is:
What is the best way to bring a device back to stock if there is no stock ROMs available and factory reset will not work?
On any device in this situation. Mostly I am hoping to have it explained in a way I can really finalize this confusing hole in my logic.
Like can a recovery program find it if it is still on the device somewhere and if not, why not?
Thanks in advance.
Additional backstory if helpful.
I have a Wacom Cintiq Hybrid running Android 4.1 that is ( now ) rooted..
This is a very bad thing. The Real Stock ROM has palm rejection and all the drivers to make it work as a tool. So stock is the ideal but it is clearly not stock as my device supposedly came in the
box running 4.2 and with software and drivers to make it work properly with the pen. This has nothing. No software and the smallest amount of apps possible. Worse this is no custom ROM its on ( I think) as it would be the worst one ever and it was not rooted on arrival. I have no idea what happened before I got it. I may have made the mistake of rooting it really as I found out to my dismay there is no ROM support. So back to square one. I bought it ( very cheap for one of these ) "stuck and unable to go to the play store" and I did not realize until I got it, on a version of Android it was not meant for. Wacom is totally and woefully unhelpful in every way. They seem to want to quietly put this device behind them at the expense literally of their customers.
I have discussed this problem in another thread if more details on all this specific to this device are of interest.

Hello & welcome to xda-assist,
If you rooted the device you changed the system /kernel in the process, if root is all you done you should be able to unroot by using the unroot option in your root management application, if you did further changes like deleting system apps and so on it gets more complex, the best and easiest way to get back to the original state would be a copy of the latest firmware.. If it doesn't exist you're somewhat out of luck, please refer to this link for further help & information..

Thanks for the reply. So no way to get the extract the original firmware? I don't wish to un-root. The device was set to a very sad state of affairs when I got it, unrooted, with something very unlike the stock firmware and factory date reset not helping at all. Persistently locked into a lower version of Android than it was not meant for and not running the drivers or software it would seem I need to make it function properly that came with the device.
Basically it lead to my curiosity of how one goes about extracting or mining the data that is stored somewhere on the device if all I did was root. Which is all I did.
It should still be there. Basically how do I get to it?
The link takes me back to the forums for help, however I found no help there after much searching before I asked here but thanks

The intended of xda-assist is to direct you to the most suitable board of xda, we do not solve issues for you or do technical support, please be patient, it often takes time for exotic devices / questions to be seen by someone who can give hints and answers..
Edit: but it's not that the original firmware is stored somewhere on the device by default where you can grab it and reinstall it..
Sent from my OnePlus 2 using XDA Labs

Totally cool. It's a tough question.
The OG firmware thing is the toughest part to understand. Just wanted to make sure I was clear in my explanation and question.
