I have installed Cyanogenmod 7.1 on my phone.
I tried to copy some files to the phone but everything was working sloooowlyyy...
I accidently (didn't actively search for it) fell over a page telling that one could change "the usb cache size" with good results...
The reason why I write it in "" is because I'm not sure that this was the name.
Ever since I installed and ran this my USB connection has been very unstable.
So I tried to set the cache size back to the original and uninstalled the program. Unfortunately I still have the USB stability problems and I am not sure if they were there before I ran the program (which I cannot remember the name of).
Can someone please help me?
The results I get from Google doesn't help at all.

I have successfully downgraded my rc33 g1 to rc29 and i have managed to unlock and activate it. I was also able to update it to rc33 using jf's update. All was good until yesterday for some reason i wasn't able to download from the android market anymore so i decided to restore to factory settings! so i thought i'll just repeat the whole process again but i was wrong! I was able to downgrade to rc29 again but my computer doesn't recognize my android anymore! i tried <enter>setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1<enter> multiple times but my pc is just not recognizing it! <enter> reboot <enter> works as expected but for some reason i cant make my computer access my android. I checked my hardware settings and there is no HTC dream device there anymore. When i plug my android to the USB it's just charging! Anybody help please
Make sure your phone wasnt auto detected as usb mass storage device. if you are running windows. go to the device manager. open up the section. then watch closely as you plug your phone in. if you see a mass device show up, you need install the android usb drivers.
I have been looking into that closely but for some reason it's not acting up the way it used to. When i first got the android i was able to see that usb device at the device manager. I've tried doing so in different pc's and operating systems ( windows xp , vista64 and 32 ) but it just wouldn't load. It's charging though but the device just wont get recognized.
kinda a dumb suggestion but when u plug g1 into comp are u mounting it from the g1??(notifcation that comes up) again i kno thats something stupid...
I appreciate your post bladepbc i don't think it's a dumb question. I cannot mount the SD since i am locked in the activation screen. Thanks for trying to help mate! cheers!
Try a Linux operating system. If it works there, you have a Windows problem.
Thank you for trying to help. Are you sure about linux i'm a little skeptical, because it worked with vista64 before i don't understand why it's not working anymore after factory reset. Thanks!
anyone? please? Jesusfreke please help me!
Really? Am I missing something? Activate, then mount. Put the files on sd, go blue team go.
Hello disonance i can't mount since i have to go to activation again :| <enter>setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1<enter> isn't working
mods, this thread needs to be closed/locked/ patmagpantay has started another one of these with the same issue.
patmagpantay - if you have JF recovery console flash ADP1.1 update, you can skip initial activation login - then connect to wifi - then open a google app (Gmail market, calendar etc.) you will then be prompted to activate (over wifi)
yeah, this other cross-thread is here:

My apologize I din't mean to offend anyone. Again i'm sorry.

Thank you for your reply! I now think that there is hope for my android! Where do i get this sir? and how do i do it? Thank you so much!
Hello guys!
This is the first time I'm ever asking for an advice online so don't judge me too hard, I'm out of options, been googling for hours.
I have SE Xperia X10 mini (not pro). A while ago I rooted it and removed some annoying system apps. Removed the apps that were labeled as safe to remove by people who have done this before. As a result market stopped working, been trying to fix it but nothing seemed to help. Last option was a factory reset. Did that. Now I have a phone with no apps, cant access web, don't have a file manager, no music player, no nothing And market is still not working.
Only good thing is that now market is just stuck in "Starting download" position as before it had this annoying error message popping up.
I'm wondering is there a way for me to reinstall the phone completely with market not working and not having a file manager either?
Thanks in advance
P.S. I use ubuntu, but will figure out how to run win files soon. BTW might this thing with adb.exe + usb debugging help me install apps through USB, so I can atleast install file manager and then it would be easier to figure out what to do next?
Have you tried fixing with Sony PC Companion? I had a similar problem where I deleted some things I shouldn't have and PC Companion fixed it for me.
did you use sd-ext? because i have got the same problem which is i have to do partition again to ext3
Market is stuck whenever i try to download multiply files, but it was solved once it's upgraded to Play Store
and yes you can install applications via USB, just be sure to activate USB Debugging in Development menu, there is an windows application that allow mass apk installation, just search it
Thanks guys for your responses. School is intense now but once I'm done with all that workload I'll get to fixing my phone You really calmed me down by confirming that it is possible to install apps via usb Really much thanks, from this point on I'll manage
Hi, a while back I rooted my T-mo mytouch Q. It was fine for a while and I
enjoyed the benefits of having a rooted phone, but some problems I can't seem
to find the answer to occured. First off, I can't install my phone driver onto any
computer anymore. It says failed to install driver. At first I thought this was my
old computer's fault (it had vista) but now I got a brand new computer with
windows 7 and it is still a problem. Second of all, I uninstalled some system apps
I didn't seem to find a use for (browser because I used dolphin, some widgets)
and Titanium backup will not restore these apps (spins endlessly). I have tried
manually pushing them to the system folder but it wont allow me to. Any help
with either of these problems will be much appreciated.
After having some issues with connecting my phone to my computer, I thought I might try uninstalling and re-installing the samsung drivers. The problem is that I can't get them to install. Every time I get a message saying "the device driver was not successfully installed". Can anyone help me with this?
EDIT: I apologize, apparently my computer is having issues with its USB drivers-it has nothing to do with the Samsung drivers. I'm not seeing a way to delete this thread. If a mod happens to read this, feel free to delete this thread.
Same Exact Issue...No Solution

Actually, I am having the same issue ongoing. I have tried different USB cords, uninstalling USB device, uninstalling/reinstalling Samsung Kies, uninstalling/reinstalling most current Samsung drivers. Every time I reinstall the Samsung drivers, I get "the device driver was not successfully installed."
The OP might have isolated the source of the issue, but Samsung tech support (3 hours worth) and my best efforts cannot get to the bottom of this issue.
Anyone????
this is problem of windows registry not driver
i have the same problem for past one month..i am unable use kies or odin because, samsung usb modem will not be installed correctly..
then i found all usb modems(huawei data card) are not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers(error 31)...the i followed the following steps...i got it corrected
please take a back of the windows registry before doing..
1. Go to start menu
2. Run ‘regedit’
3. Open this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\
{4D36E96D-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4. In this key, find the “Installer32” string.
5. If the Microsoft Registration Key is missing, the key has to be added manually.
6. Create a “string” value named “Installer32”, and set it to “mdminst.dll,ClassInstall32”
5. Save the ‘regedit’
restart the computer.. and reinstall kies..it will work

I was messing with my galaxy core prime (android 4.4.4) using a app to remove system apps that you can't with the stock app manager.. (no reason for crap like smartcard manager, bluetooth, wifi sharing..etc to be running when i haven't authorized such things, seems like security risk imo)
Was also editing the autorun list and messing with Norton applock and phone encryption settings to try to further secure it.
Welp, I f'ed things up because phone crashed and now can't do anything.. can't access home screen, settings, call/txt, nothing. So I booted into the stock bootloader and tried formatting the entire thing including cache..
Didn't fix the problem, can't finish the setup wizard without it crashing, get message saying setup, hangouts, and keyguard stopped working and then my phone bricks and can't do absolutely anything. No backup either.
I have been googling and googling for solutions but everything I read says to either:
-Reformat from bootloader (tried a 100 times)
-Wipe with TWRP or CWM (don't have either and can't access play store)
-Use Kies (won't detect my device since I can't enable MTP)
-ADB sideload twrp or cyanogen (cant, usb debugging probably not enabled since I formatted and no way to enable it since setup of android fails)
Odin can't detect anything either.. probably due to same reason. (Cant enable MTP or usb debugging)
So am I totally screwed? What are my options here?
I noticed the stock bootloader has a option to install from external storage.. can I put my sd card in a phone that does work and download twrp, cyanogenmod, (or ANYTHING else to fix this) to that, then put it back in my bricked phone and re flash it that way? That way I wouldn't need mtp or usb debugging... or won't that work?
Wasted so much time trying to fix this guys, googling and even formatted my pc removing Linux and reinstalling Windows hoping suddenly my pc would detect it.. atleast on linux when I used "adb devices" command it detected my device (trying to sideload anything didn't appear to work though, phone says error about verifying it and tries again and says completed and reboots but no sign of the rom I just supposedly sideloaded anywhere)
removing Linux and installing Window seems to have been a mistake because on windows using "adb devices" returns a blank list.. Tried different cords, ports, kies 2 and 3, reinstalling drivers, disabling firewall..etc but like I said even if I do get adb to detect it, what can I do from there without mtp or debugging?
Sorry for wall of txt, just want to be descriptive as possible so I don't get all replies telling me to try stuff that I've tried 100 times or just flat out won't work for my particular problem because of the above reasons..
will be sincerely grateful to anyone that took the time to read this and try to help me.
