I hope TrevE doesnt mind me starting this thread first off. This is his customized version of the already sweet rom DarchLegend by DarchStar. Its been my daily rom since he put out it, I just thought Id make it a little easier for others to find and enjoy. And maybe inspire TrevE to share some more of his custum creations! I also want to take the opprotunity to Thank both DarchStar and TrevE for their most excellent work. This is just copy and pasted from TrevE's posts in the DarchLegend thread.
Awesome Rom darchstar. Over the weekend i made the plunge to 2.x, after the google sign in issues with the eris rom i came over to your legend. Already real optimized and usable I just have a tendency to tweak everything. I made a few changes to your v2 and figured id post them back if anyone else wanted, use any of it as you will. Ive been wiping and flashing all weekend so its probably safe but if your phone blows up thats your fault. This is now my daily driver rom thanks alot darchstar
heres the changes i rememberd i made:
-chaged a few icons
-Transparent notification bar
-Black dialer
-fixed apps2sd and threw in the script to do 'apps2sd off' if you dont want it
-changed lowmemkiller minfree to 1536,3072,4096,21000,23000,25000 making a huge difference in speed
-cleared lockscreen
-used nexus bootscreen
-made few changes to install script & init.d files
-added wifi tether & few more widgets.

the clear lockscreen, does it actually show the date on one line and does it show the 2 sliders? b/c when i tried the clear lockscreen on this rom a few days ago it was all eff'd up..

I really like the skin and icons of this theme, but the memkiller is set too strict. Navigation is terminated after about 2 seconds. It can run in the background, but as the app tries to pull up a full screen app it is terminated.

Just tried out the ROM and you did some pretty good customizations, now the real test will be to see how the battery life is.......
I just will give it a charge and test it out now.

Who is Rock Steady for?/About Rock Steady
Looking for the faster 2.3.3 hero cdma rom with HTC Sense Theme??!?! This is just for you!!! This rom is a developed by me and cyanogenmod and the cyanogenmod team. The name inspired by the Rock Steady Break bboy crew. They are the original bboy crew that inspired future generations to breakdance like myself, but yet they remain true to the dance. That short explanation reminds of this rom and how android went from 1.5 to 2.3.3 but this rom remains original to the default theme of android when you first bought your phone from sprint, sense ui framework. If you can't tell by now I like to breakdance so that is the basis of where the name came from. Please read on for more information.
What Needs Work?
- modify the lock screen pattern to have that same green streak like sense's lock screen pattern does
- modify the lock screen and notification bar "sprint" text to say either "gingersense" or "heroc"
- also i need to include a super circle battery mod as extra for those of you who would like a super circle battery instead of the sprint battery (coming soon )
Instructions:
1. Backup EVERYTHING (SD Card, Titanium Backup, Nandroid)
2. Wipe EVERYTHING (Data/Factory Rest, Wipe Cache, Format Boot, System, Cache, and Data, Wipe Dalvik)
3. Download and Copy RockSteady & Gapps to your sdcard

4. Flash RockSteady and Gapps and Reboot
5. Skips gapps setup and reboot into recovery and wipe data, cache, and dalvik again
6. reboot into system
7. After setting up gapps, in the menu > sense settings > ui setting > check tint ab and make the scale factor 1 instead of 7
8.Press menu > add > custom shortcut > then click the phone icon and use es file explorer and choose the transparent.png I provided for you on the root of your SD card. Change the activity to say phone by pressing pick your activity > applications > phone. Okay the custom widget and the drag and drop it over the phone button. Do the same for right sense dock button (choose a custom activity of your choice)
9. Add the sense clock by using the fancy widget widget i provided for you.
10. Press menu > settings > cyanogenmod settings > lockscreen > style options > lockscreen style > lense. This is the new modified lockscreen I've been working on Its not perfect yet but it's a start. This is just my way of saving you a few bucks from buying a lockscreen from the market. Although, if you'd like a sense-like lockscreen which looks slightly different from the stock lockscreen (in terms of shading/brightness/darkness), please see here about widgetlocker. Please purchase this app from the market to use as the sense lockscreen. I REALLY RECOMMEND IT. And you can easily disable the default lockscreen once you start using this app by going into the cyanogenmod settings > tablet settings > and checking disable lockscreen.

- i/o scheduler tweaks helped performance/smoothness A LOT
- boot time tweak so rom boot in about 20 seconds or less for me after first boot :D

I have used the data2ext before but my card is only a class 4. Causes much lag. I am fine with just A2sd. Right now I am using Jason's 691 uncapped kernel and it is working fine so far.

Is this real "HTC Sense" integrated with gingerbread, or is it just a "Sense theme" for gingerbread? I assume by looking at the rom size that it is just a theme. I really like the sense widgets: calendar, messaging,email, etc, but I assume that if it is just a sense theme then those widgets will not be available? I will still download and give it a whirl. Thank you for your hard work!

It's probably just the themed ADWLauncher and warez version of Fancy Widget that have been floating around.

Thats what I was thinking. Without the sense widgets, I'll just go back to launcher pro plus, the sense theme doesn't me do me much good in that regards. Other than that the rom looks pretty solid

I know that most folks that use Froyo or Gingerbread think that Sense is a dirty word, for some reason I always find myself going back to a sense rom after being on froyo or gingerbread for a while. I really like the interface and widgets. Thank you again for your hardwork

Fancy Widget is not warez. The oudated version that you've included here (the one that you've likely included without license from the creator) was taken off of the Market a long time ago after HTC sent a cease-and-desist letter to the creator for ripping off their work (if you crack open the apk, you can see pretty clearly that he blatantly copied the image resources from the original). It was later re-released after a code rewrite, sans the ripped-off bits.

No problem but my hardest work /problem I'm going to face is Widgets but I like challenges

So this is gingerbread 2.3.3 with an HTC Sense theme over it? does stuff work?! If texting, calling, and teh netz works, I'm down for trying this out.

Hi guys this is something ive been working for quite a while now, gradually perfecting it but there is still stuff to add. This is for people that like a minimal black and white look.
Now I have started in the xml stuff ive improved upon version 1 enough to consider this version 2.
Things i would like to change next are:
-Change some more inbuilt apps to match the theme(requests if you want anything in particular)
-Change charging colour on lockscreen (still currently green, think I know how to do this but having probs compiling stuff still)
-Improve/change more in app icons and colours
-Add Reboot, Recovery and Download to power menu option (main priority for V3)
-If possible enable the standard android lockscreen (got some nice sliders to use already in framework)
Any help and advice will be highly appreciated.

No Clock Patch Added To First Post

After wrestling about 6 hours with my crappy laptop to get everything together ive managed to make the no clock patch. This should work on all deodexed V10 based roms.

To install this, copy the framework apk and lge rs into the framework folder and copy the setting apk and application manager apk into the app folder to do this you must be rooted.
This theme is working on firmware V10D(stock) and WaterBear 1.0, i havnt tested on anything else.

Small update coming up soon guys and a slightly edited camera apk to match to rest of the theme. Also working on the contacts, phone and messaging apps too.

Im writing this to let you guys know that im leaving this forums. There are spme reasons for this. The main one is "I need to get my life back", this means that im going to spend more time to really important things like my girl, family, my self, health and school. I just got my life to a point that i was all lies. I use to lie to my girl that i was doing something when i was really developing. I use to get in problems with family and the partner as well as in school. Theres things i cant replace if i loose them and thats my girl, school and fam part. Im going to pay mpre attention to school and those who love me because im really loosing them. Im just loosing track of my life and well, good thing is that a while aqo, htccaly (yea that great dev, a person i really respect) adviced me to get back to live and spend time on those who need me. Now that i thought about it im going to listen to him. Thanks to him for the advice. Also, im selling my Sensation 4G because im going to get the T-mobile SGSII as soon as it comes out and i have the money. Some of you (US users) will get it so you will see me there. I wont completely stop developing but it wont be my first priority as it used to be. I tasted how my life was before i was a dev yesterday when i spent time doing something i like that is watching videos, from funny to educative videos and i really want to go back to me. Im also doing my school homeworks and stuff and im felling better. As you know, im the dev that never sleeps so im also sleeping more and getting better and im less tired and that really helps my health. Well thats about it for now. Hope you guys undestand my situation because i need to get back on track and keep my life from getting so messed. If you want to mess your life and loose weigth, dont sleep much, f up your health and get totally wasted and loose all those that love you i recomend android as a quick solution. I am 17 years old and i got to build a future for me and my future fam but if i dont do this i think ill just be working at a mcdonalds or burgerking or else.

- Things you should know? -
-I Removed bloat apps like gmail and flash player which you can download from market, makes life easier to me since i wont need to update them every week.
-The ROM comes with launcher2 (3D) edited to match the colors of the THEME - Removed the indicator Dots because i wanted the homescreen to look pretty clear.
-There is only 1 keyboard that is in the data folder, if you factory reset, you loose it
-I Really broke my back working on this ROM> The theme took alot of time, all the apps, even the zipalign and optimization took me like a day, i havent sleep well, havent eat well, havent even shared with my girlfriend because i was busy working on the ROM and now shes mad at me because i lie her all the time telling her im going to sleep and its to work with no one bothering. You all should apreciate the effort i put into my work, you all should know this is not like counting 1.2.3 and done.
-The boot-time on this ROM after the first boot is less then 15 seconds including the splash screen (WOW), first boot might take around 40 seconds(Duh-first boot)
-Almost all HTC checkings have been disabled so that they dont access your phone or anything like that, also for other things. Also this ROM has (pm.sleep_mode=1) in the build.prop so that the phone saves battery when not in use- thanks mike for it. Also EXT4 have been improved by (ro.ext4fs=1) in the build.prop. The ROM has Tweaks for better touchscreen responsiveness and for making it smoother and also better media quality. ADB notification have been removed from the pulldown since no-one needs it there- on first boot, make sure you go enable it because its disabled by default.
-This ROM has been tweaked for better network speed and signal also- Thanks to my man Master&Slave i now have over 5-MBPS download speed when here in NY the most i have had was around 4-MBPS on a good day - Its a big city, lot of users so its not as fast as other places where you get around 10-MBPS. About the signal- Where i live, most of the time my 4 signal bars are full, also wifi works pretty fast, you dont have to wait for long till it connects.
-By pressing power button and tapping Home, you can take a nice screenshot of the Beast and share it with your friends, or share it with us here on the Thread, Facebook Or Twitter. In this new 2.3.4 Build, we get some issues that can affect the screenshots feature. One Example of this is that sometimes you press Home and instead will take a screenshot- if you get that issue then just turn off and on the screen, This issue might be on my phone only but if you get the issue you know what to do.
-The so called AOSP Mms app. I got it to send images to other people a few minutes before releaseing this ROM. All works? Yes, only a minor issue im trying to fix, and its that when you click settings on the app, it will force close for some reason. I think we all can live with it until i can fix it, the app works fast and does the main work that is to send pictures. The app might show "message not send" alot but just dont pay attention to that since they get sent automaticly. Well thats all for the Mms app.
-The ROM might have some non graphical glitches- glitches, they are pretty minor and will maybe be fixed on the next version, so hope it don't bother you all.
-In this ROM, even wifi calling have been edited, changed some pink for blue, which will make it a little better looking eventhough some of you dont use it. Pretty much all the apps have been edited to look good and match the theme, there are some apps missing to edit like the camera app and some others but they are comming on next release. You may want to report anything that needs to be changed so that it gets changed by me.
- Issues & Bugs -
-You wont be able to go to gallery by the camera - this is caused because the gallery is not the one HTC puts in sense ROMs, its the AOSP gallery, you can get out the camera and open the galley app.

- How to check this MD5, CRC32 Or SHA-1 numbers? -
*Get this program here , and install it on your PC, after you done that, you are ready to go, you won't have any icon in the desktop or something like that, to use it, go to the ROM and right click it, then click properties and on top click file hashes and it will load the numbers in a little box, then after done, put any of this 2 numbers i provided in the bar that will be almost at the bottom, then hit compare, if you have a green check you good to go, if not you will have to redownload the ROM and check it again. Its really needed because if you get a bad download then you will suffer issues with the ROM, also in some cases it wont even flash so you see how important is to check this numbers. Hope you dont find it difficult to do and do it.
Place the ROM in your SD card - Not in any folder please
[*]Boot into recovery
Factory reset, plus wipe cache, then Flash the ROM
[*]After the ROM has flahed successfully go to Advanced
There you will wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions, then reboot your phone
[*]After the phone boots leave it without touching it for 10 minutes
After done, Reboot the phone and set it up (Note that is very important to do this)
[*]And last Step- I hope you did what i said or ill

I dont use that, it has stock kernel so dont spect over 3400 on quads like my senseless ROM on Unity kernel. Lets wait for the oc fix on dual cores and then we talk about quads. The ROM's Speed is not determined by the quads

This one looks even better to me. I looked through the threads and this is the latest. It is based on Fallout but says Sense 4 in the description. Downloading now to check it out.
And it was soooooooo big pain with the Chinese captchas!!!

Are you talking about the one in the OP or the one you linked to in your post?
I'll take this on recommendation and try it later for fun - even though I don't like sense and will probably just run FTL straight over the top of it

Yep the link form my post.
The tweaks are stolen from team Venom's ROM that is for One X but still the combination of Fallout base with them is just marvelous.
It has an option for AOSP lockscreen, configurable quick settings, but in a separate tab, etc. Worth checking just for the play

But if you copy the files from the attachment to the respective folders in /system/customize, before flashing you will have all languages
The keyboard offers you to download your language when you have internet connection
And it is Sense 4.1. I am definitely keeping this as a daily. It is based on Fallout so should be less resource hungry than Virtuous Infinity (just a theory at that point)
Hint: it comes with aroma installer in Chinese but there are not much options, so just click the green button (that should be Next) and it installs. At the very first screen there are 2 options - first is to wipe dalvik+cache, second is a full wipe.Then just next...

Yeah Chinese captchas are horrible..Used some website to read that took me 3 hr.. but now i feel worth it ..hmm
