Bet ya that sucker takes a while to charge, if it's really a 3500mAH.

Is there a case that will work with this?

i'll buy one today and report in soon, does the rom need any tweaks to support aa battery with such higher capacity?

Once you get it, can you take pictures of what it looks like with the extended battery? I am just curious to see how much thicker it will make the phone look.
Thanks!

The nice thing about our fairly dumb fuel gauge chip is that there is no need for battery calibration in any case - even with a major battery capacity change. Our fuel gauge is based on battery voltage only. (Also why wiping battery stats does NOTHING in terms of fuel gauge on the Infuse.)
The only potential tweaks that might be beneficial (but not necessary):
1) Universally crank battery charge current to 800 mA in all charging phases. IMO it's only safe to do this at lower battery voltages with the stock battery, but with a 3500 mAh battery, you could keep it at 800 all the way to charge termination.
2) Probably charge termination current needs to be tweaked up a bit in the kernel if you want to properly terminate the charge. It may be OK as is.
3) The fuel gauge load compensation values will probably be different. A large battery like this should fluctuate less under load. Really this only has a small effect on battery percentage of charge reporting. You'd probably see a falsely high reading under load.

I received it yesterday and I have to order pouch since my ballistic case doesnt fit it.

Also, after looking through our kernel source - only the Vibrant does load compensation, and only when playing video or using camera.
So the only tweak one might want in the kernel for this battery would be a full-time bump of the charge current to 800 mA. (Which is possible.)

I too received it yesterday, and all I can say so far is that by now i'd be down to 35% and plugging in (4pm) while now I am at 62% on infused b3.

Yeah there's a ton of these type of devices on eBay and Amazon.com ... they're great and don't require the phone to power off to use. I carry the energizer 4000mah model in my travel bag for such cases where I need a boost.
Yours looks pretty tho, the white is nice.
Yes, for the reason that darker colors when they have scratches it is very visible compare to white.

I'd go with Energizer tho, the off brands tend to use crap cells inside, just like aftermarket batteries often do for the phones.

Our phones, unless they detect the iCharging resistors of the mintyboost as USB, will probably pull too much current for a mintyboost.

Current is limited to 600 mA without kernel hacks. This backup battery is, I assume, 5000 mAh, so it should be able to charge the phone for around 7-8 hours at 600 mA.
Although that may be 5000 mAh at the backup battery's pack voltage, which translates to maybe 4000 mAh at 5v output. (Conservation of energy... It's a bit better to rate stuff like this in watt-hours but everyone just advertises the pack rating, ignoring inefficiencies in the boost converter used to reach 5v output.)
Edit: Oh, this one IS rated in watt-hours. 19 Wh translates to 3.8 amp-hours at 5 volts assuming a 100% efficient power supply, in reality it's probably around 3.2-3.4 amp-hours on the 5v output.
thanx now i know what to ask for christmas lol

Why spend so much on one battery
As long as you dont mind switching batteries atleast once a day hit up Ebay and get 2 or 3 batteries depends on your use, and an external wall charger for around 10 to 13 bucks. they are also slim and after conditioning they last as long as stock batteries.

wow, 41 bucks on amazon and just as many 1 star reviews as 5 stars. Think I'll stick to my aftermarket batteries on the cheap.
One of these would go perfect with the otterbox.
I know a lot of these batteries that are labeled on amazon and ebay are actually stock knockoffs labeled as 1750, but truly share the same capacity as the 1400. I haven't tried or talked to anyone that's tested this listing so it could be a true claim. Just a warning for people to keep in mind. A lot of guys on ebay are even selling 1750 extended batteries that arrive still using the 1400 mah labels.

I purchased the Anker 1600mAh battery from Amazon for my G2 for $9 shipped and it works great. I would say it gives me about 2 or 3 extra hours than the HTC battery that ships with the phone. This is just anecdotal of course, not scientific. I usually take my phone off the charger around 5:40am and plug it back in to charge around 10pm. The stock battery would usually be at or below 15% at this time. With the Anker I'm usually at about 30%. Not a huge difference, but my HTC battery started going bad so I needed to replace it and for the price, you can't beat it.
I did do a review on Amazon after breaking in the battery and using it for a week. I have no idea why it was taken down though.
The OEM battery for the Vision is actually pretty good, which is more than what can be said for the OEM battery for the Doubleshot. Search around Amazon. You can actually find bundle packs of those batteries for cheaper and they come with a battery wall charger.
I'm happy with my purchase and since I intended to get the new Nexus, I didn't want to end up with a stack of batteries I wouldn't use. Plus, based on reviews on other forums, everyone spoke very highly of the Anker batteries. It has been reliable for past few months (I bought it on July or August).

You know that 1500 is only 200 more than the stock 1300. If you're getting drastically less than the stock battery It'd be my assumption that it has aged to such a point that it's no longer holding the same charge as a stock 1300mAh battery.

Anker or Mugen???

Probably already debated about this, but my question are 2 specific batteries. The anker 1900mah Battery, or Mugen 1800mah. They're both slim. But I see most people here only talk about the Anker, but nobody mentions the mugen. I bought the mugen supposing it's better quality, but really haven't seen a dramatic increase in my battery life. I probably haven't tuned it properly since I only let it discharge to 10 percent.
Although I need feedback from other users. Is the mugen better than Anker? Is anker better? Or are they almost equal??? Please help.
One more thing, would the 1950 slim Mugen battery for the sensation work for this phone?
i got the anker but will eventually buy the mugen too. i don't like the anker not having a temp sensor and requiring quite some force to get in.
also, the actual anker's mah is between 1700 and 1800mah so don't be fooled by the claimed 1900
You honestly are better getting the Mugen, better quality, its just more money which i didnt have at the moment i bought the ankers.
The sensation battery should work if im not mistaken.

Oki, ordered one ;-)
ok so it's been a couple days, been tuning the battery and so far its giving me 12 hours and around 20 min before it reaches 9 percent battery life so it is an improvement over stock batteries, just not what I expected. Although I am a heavy user, I'm using a not-so-battery friendly rom (cedde's Mytouch Lite) and it does get me through the day right. plus where I work, signal drops dramatically, must be the building structure, so that probably affects the battery.
Overall I am satisfied with the battery. I'm switching roms and giving some others a try, I'll keep the thread posted for anybody that might be curious on buying this battery.
Well!
It's been a couple days, I already broke in the battery and after many tests, I am impressed =]
At first I wasn't getting the results I expected but after a couple of recharge cycles and battery stat wipes, It's giving me what I paid for.
Being slim batteries of course you're not going to get insane battery life, but they definitely get you through the day without needing an outlet.
I'm a heavy user, I use Whatsapp, Live Profile, Go messenger for facebook, occasional skyping, twitter and of course texting. I make about 5 calls a day and work in a building with poor service. Check my facebook and news every now and then and open pandora for my daily commute. My phone never gives me less than 12 hours everyday. Not to mention I use my phone as a hotspot at home and sometimes at work.
So if you're looking for good quality batteries just to get you through your daily hustle and don't want to add bulk, and don't want to have to be switching batteries everyday (like the ankers!), this is most def the battery to get. It's worth the bucks.

Well, the battery is for HTC EVO 3D and HTC Sensation. Guess I jumped the gun here because the battery I got isn't working properly. Just a question mark and won't charge. Of course the neg and pos isn't switched. But how about the ones in the middle. Does anyone know anything about them? Switched?

They have such batteries specifically for the MT4GS. I'm waiting on my 3600mAh battery to come in.

Extended battery 4500mah

For those gamers, YouTube watchers, extended battery life is great here is a screen shot as you can see.I get a little over a day worth of juice that includes, playing an hour of video game, watching YouTube videos, using my hotspot, surfing the net, updating apps, opening emails, texting, voice calls, which I use for work,12hr shift, have to call every hour(security) which is 30 sec a call but adds up threw out the shift.overall this battery is awesome

Which extended battery did you get? Can you provide a link?
How much thicker does it make the phone?
I've owned extended batteries in the phone (as my last 2 phones hardly made it 4hr off the charger) but this one does fairly well I feel. However if I can add an extended battery and allow the phone to do more (more widgets) I may go this route again
Here's the info, ok couldn't put a link because the link takes you to my account, but the sellers name and info is in the pic,$8 is a steal, yes it makes it much thicker, but it doesn't bother me I only use it for gaming and when I watch another video,I might buy another battery.I'll try post to post as picture with the extended battery, my sg3 is blue and the back I got for it is white but that's my choice a two tone color lol.

Thanks!
It actually doesn't look all that thick I don't think, especially for a 4500mah - and like you said $8 is a steal for this. I'll have to pick one up thanks again :good:
no problem anytime and, this battery doesn't make my phone hot like the stock one.

Awesome thanks!
btw - can you confirm whether this battery supports NFC? I believe that was an issue with some aftermarket batteries before. It should say on the battery itself I think
no sorry no nfc with this battery, there's one that's,3000mah that has nfc, but I can't remember which company has that one, I don't use nfc,atm but when I do I still have my stock battery.

I've hit close to 36 hours with heavy use on Beans stock rom w/ the stock battery. You should be getting twice this with a 4500mah battery.
Jesus christ that battery is huge. i would get one doe.
I use the hyperion 4000+ battery and the matching case, it is totally awesome.
I stream audio (iheart radio or Sirius online) all day at work which is an absolute battery killer and the Hyperion lasts so long I never even bother to check my battery gauge anymore.
I only get a day because I just got the battery on Friday, haven't broken it in yet, I'm sure it will last more then a day++, but remember 4glte sucks battery, plus I play massive games, stream lots of video.so I'm very happy so far with this battery .and besides I'm still stock not even rooted or unlocked yet.

4300 w/NFC, Works Great, only $15!
I got an extended battery direclty from a Chinese Manufacturer. It's 4300mAh - works great - and has NFC. (The NFC works great too.).
The battery is on Aliexpress.com here: http://www.aliexpress.com/product-f...sung-Galaxy-S3-I9300-4300mAh-wholesalers.html
Or just search for 4300 Samsung Galaxy S3 NFC Battery on Aliexpress.com
I did a video review of the battery as well as the Hyperion extended battery case. You can check it out here if you want: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOZivj2__l8
Anyway, I highly recommend this battery. Can't be beat for the price and get to keep NFC!
I just hope Hyperion, Anker, Siedio, or Mugen release a 3000 or so mah battery. 4000+ is just too large for me personally. I mean on the stock 2100 mah I'm getting killer battery stats for only being 2100mah and pushing a 4.8" screen or so. If we could get a good 3000 mah batter I don't think the design of the phone will be ruined and also think I could mod an OB defender case to work with it. Not possible w/ a 4500 mah battery.
