Woke up this morning to a nice 4G icon in the status bar. Speedtest pulling around 36mbsp down and 8mbps up, both on the phone AND tethered to pc. Where's your god now comcast?

I am visiting Orlando and have gotten much better battery life.
I am from Central NJ and work in NYC. At home in NJ I get a good 4G
signal but it keeps switching to 3G. I will lose 20% battery within an hour, and even with it on LTE only will lost battery. In NYC I get a sold 4G signal and it never switches to 3G, and there will still have to charge the phone within 4-5 hrs.
Where I am staying in NE Orlando Verizon coverage inside this house has always been poor for anyone phone. We need to go outside or the back porch for a decent call. 3G was getting no data so I switched to 4G. Even with 1 bar or no bars I had decent data. Yesterday we drove to Disney and I left the phone on CDMA+LTE so I would have data. As the day went on I was checking e-mail and also keeping an eye on battery. I had 3 bars in many places in Hollywood Studios and many time 1 or no bars. The phone stayed on 4G and I never once saw the phone change to 3G.The battery stayed all day. I made a couple of calls, texted lightly and received a lot of e-mail all day.
I had take the phone off the car charger at 10am, and at 10pm still had 45% battery left. This is far better than I have ever gotten in my home area.
Even though my usage was lighter I never would get anywhere near this in the NY/NJ area even with almost no use.
Has Verizon changed anything or has anyone else noticed a difference in other areas? Like everyone else I have been leaving my phone on 3G only to save battery.
Like the air quality, the water is purer and in turn.. so is the electricity!
Boom-tsh!

Had to post this somewhere!
Apparently Big Red is busy rolling out the 4G in my city tonight!
I work about 2 hours away in birmingham and as I entered the city where I live, I looked down at my phone and there was this 4G LTE icon suddenly. "Holy Crap!" I get excited and start doing a speed test, then I get about a .25 mile from my apartment and its GONE!!!!! ARGH!!!!!! So I turn around to make sure I wasn't seeing things and sure enough it reappears and then disappears at the exact same intersection.
and then magically 30 mins later, Im at my apartment and suddenly there is the 4G again!
only getting 10 -12 MBps right now, is that average or is it probably because the network might not be 100% in my area?
I capped out at 21 megs down and 4.5 megs up in the Minneapolis area. So you should be able to do better yet...but I'm sure not every area is different. Plus I was outdoors vs indoors, which will prolly have some impact on the speed too.
In the middle of my city where 4G is now provided, I can get about 23 down and 9 up on average. At my house on the outskirts I get about 12 down and 5 up, significantly less, however, WAY better than I get via 3G. And due to my shoddy internet set-up, actually faster than my desktop in terms of speed (not latency).
i live in the same area and it was here for 20 minutes and then poof gone. 30 meg down 8 meg up
In the Philly suburbs, I get consistent 10/2 4G service, pretty much regardless of how many bars are displaying for signal strength.
congrats shotgunsam. LTE 4G is AMAZING isn't it? I was seriously when i first starting using LTE 4G. Now I feel I can never go back to 3G. Spoiled with 4G but loooooooooving it!
It seemed pretty epic for the 20 mins I used it outside of my apartment.
However, about 16 hours after, its no longer reaching into my apt. Oh Well, at least I know they're working on getting it up and going in my area.
I got it in my town.. But as soon as I go into my neighborhood it's gone .
It's awesome when I'm in town though!

Woke up this morning to be greeted by the 4G notification on the title bar. Yippee, so turn your radio to LTE more and enjoy.

Congrats! Soon I will be able to make the drive to Milwaukee without ever dropping LTE.
Noticed mine last night!!
its been kinda spotty jumping back to 3g every so often,
but lovin the speed!!
Seeing as I work downtown, it would come on occasionally over the past month, but it was very infrequent and spotty at best (I think they were testing). Today it's been on all day, and surprisingly my battery life hasn't tanked like it did last month during testing. It's still worse than 3G, but it didn't drain in six hours like it had in the past (I still have 66 percent left with moderate usage). I am getting about 8 down and 5 up downtown - nice!
So far so good down in Racine it's been on all day for me. Now to see how fast my battery changes.
Awesome here in Brookfield and Menomonee falls has it too I guess. I'll find out after work

Does anyone else seem to have terrible wireless signal? Using Wireless N, the highest reported link speed (from android wireless settings) I have seen is 58mbps. But, averages around 35-40. Seen as low as 1 being only 20ft from the router. Wifi Analyzer reports signal strength at -83dbm from about 15 feet away. The signal seems so terrible that I normally switch to 4G just to browse the internet.
My old incredible was always pegged at 65+.
What gives?
Yeah, I don't know what's up the WiFi in the Charge. I had a Sammy Vibrant before and it always had 3 full bars of WiFi in my house, while my charge is only showing one or less. I wonder if they put that low-power WiFi in our phones, the same one that was put in the Nexus S 4G. They've had a lot of signal issues with those also.

Anyone have problems with their 4G while riding the LIRR to the city from Long Island?
My bars jumps between 2-5 bars and even with 4G up, my connection is either very slow or I get no internet at all while the train is moving.
Is this normal for a train ride for the connection to be on and off?
Yes pretty much the connection jumps around during the train ride.
