Forget universal. go to a t-mobile corp store and buy them there, you get two and they cover the screen completely.

I was the same way. but I feel that the universal ones are of a lesser quality and tend to scratch easier. Also cutting them just right is a pain.

I got my G2 yesterday and bought the screen protectors from T-Mobile. Didn't have them do it in store because I was in a hurry and when I got home and applied them they leave the screen looking very fuzzy.
Anyone else noticed this?
I am taking them back tomorrow.

Yea I was just discussing this in another thread with someone else. I do like the feel of them plus they get no smears or fingerprints for me so good for swype and I'll wait til it goes bad then I'll go to ebay and buy like 10 for 5 dollars, they always work good for me from ebay and they take a while to scratch

Did you get the anti-smear screen protectors?
If so, how are they... i am still shaky on spending 15 dollars on (2) screen protectors
Yes these are the anti smear screen protectors and I am taking them back today. It bothers me to look at the screen for too long because it looks like it really gives a green or pink tint depending on how you look at the screen.

How does the screen protector feel with this product? It it kind of like the invisible shield? or it it more of a glossy "glass" like feel?
I had the MyTouch 3G and i could buy these awesome glossy screen protectors that felt just like the glass. Fast forwarded to the HD2 (just wanted a phone to mess around with) and the matte screen diffusers really irked me, so i dont want more of those if i can avoid it.

Not only are they anti-smear they are anti-glare. compare the protector to another glossy type and you will see that the glossy will reflect, while the ant-smear almost does not. you gain anti smudge/glare , but know the protector is disturbing the clarity of the screen. I just ordered Stealth Guards. I had this on my HD2. Its a copy of the invisible shield. It does not include the solution for install, but you can make your own, instructions included. It's free right now , only pay shipping (same deal on my HD2) 4 kits ran me $8.85. My HD2 has had it on about 6 months and it looks great and gives a nice feel to the phone.
I've read nothing but good reviews of this screen protector, had to get some for myself. I can't wait for that glass feel.

All anti-smear/glare protectors give a grainy look. it is due to the texture of the material. since it diffusing the clarity of the reflection it also diffuses the screen. ask an employee at a store if they can open a pack for you, so you can lay over the protector on your phone so you can get an idea.
personally its not that horrible. i just have it on until my stealth guards arrive.
Just ordered some stealth guards
I have had success with ebay seller dcmugen but don't know if he has our model yet.
You can get pre-cut sp's for cheap but if you really insist on cutting it like i did because i had an couple of hd2 sp's laying around use the plastic that came on the screen as a guide. take an exacto blade to it. i didn't want to mess with 2 rounded edges so i left the flat side and placed it above the menu buttons.
i tell you this much though, if you cut them the edges will be lifted slightly from the cut unless you file it. needless to say this is just a temporary solution for me until i either decide to return it or keep the phone in which case i would buy a pre-cut one.
I still have the original plastic film on the screen from when I bought the phone but it's starting to peel off on one edge. Can anyone recommend me some good screen protectors? I would prefer it they do not smear and don't distort the screen in any way (colors or clarity). Thanks for any help! Loving this phone.
I'm in the same position. I went to ebay and purchased this extreme guard for $3.99 with free shipping.
It was sold when I found out the material is for protecting exotic car paint jobs...

You know, the one from tmobile isn't that bad. I was skeptical at first, but its easy to put on and I am actually satisfied. I took it off once to reposition and then peeled various parts back to get dust off of the screen and its stuck like it was brand new.

Yeah I'm trying to find a good sp before I get my G2 also. There's a few threads here already and the Vikuiti sp has good reviews but I'm waiting to see if someone can tell me if it's better than the Realook sp. I had the Realook one for the Vibrant and it was great, couldn't even tell it was on (aside from the ocassional fingerprints).
i Have the ones from T-Mobile, a little high in price at $14.99 but if u mess up you do get 2. You also get a screen cleaning cloth. If you like to use Swype then ull love this SP! it makes it super easy 2 swype. Fingers never get stuck to it and its a much better SP than the ones for the Mytouch / G1. iF u can find a friend whos buying a G2 u guys can go half on the pack at that point its 8 bucks a pop. Not bad.

You guys should really try the ZAGG i posted, it's the best screen protector you can buy in my opinion:

I'd like to find one that isn't "rubbery" at all. The one that came with my wife's MT3G isn't "scratch proof" like the rubbery ones, but it's nice and smooth and doesn't give the "orange peel" texture and distortion to the screen. I really don't mind if the SP get's scratched, I can always replace it! I just want an experience that is as close to no SP as possible.

If you both need OEM cases, then there is a deal at T-Mobile stores where if you buy 3 accessories, you get everything for 30% off. It would make the screen protectors about $10 (and the cases between $17-20-ish).
I don't mean to be a troll, but why do people need cases or screen protectors? You can try to scratch the screen with a razor and have no luck. I've never used a case or a screen protector, and all of my past phones still look new other than some slight paint rub off and one has a tiny dent on the corner from dropping it 8ft. All glass is 100% scratch free, even after many drops. What are you people doing with your phones???

I think I could keep my screen scratch-free, but to be honest I just simply don't want to risk it. With every phone I've purchased, I've thought I could keep from dropping it, but shtuff happens. A scratched screen is highly annoying. I'd rather have a screen protector and never have to worry about it.
I have a bad habit of dropping my phone, usually on hard, unforgiving concrete. The last thing I want is to damage or scratch up my case--especially during the 14-day buyer's remorse period.
I've used martin fiekd overlays and its pretty awesome.

I dont know about you, but when i sell my phones, it usually helps when the screen looks next to new. Tiny scratches develop over time whether you like it or not, so a SP is good to use. Plus, i dont know who fed you the information about glass being 100% scratch free because it is not.

I was saying my glass on my used phones are 100% scratch free. I have sold many phones on eBay after using them for 2 years. Their screen all looked "next to new" despite never using a SP.
They seem like a good idea for a female that drops her phone in to an over filled purse, but my phone is always alone in a pants pocket or sitting on a table/shelf/etc. I have dropped my phones multiple times, but thankfully none of them have ever got a scratch from it.
The best SP I have found to date is the one from T-Mobile. It's anti-smudge, cuts down on glare and has a great feel to it. I paid $15 for 2 of them.

To be fair, I use screen protectors. Just to be on the safe side, and they are non-obtrusive. And a waste of money? I have to disagree with that. I got 6 screen protectors off eBay for 99p UK seller- UV protection, anti-grease, anti-dust, anti-scratch. They last for about 3 months.
I think if you want to be safe, get a screen protector. They might protect your screen from damage one day, and for pennies its a worthy investment.
I disagree with Screen Protectors being a waste of money. My phone was in mint condition until I bent over and my phone slipped out my pocket.
It landed face down, on stones. I now have a scratch going right across my screen.
You get really cheap ones. But don't waste your time with those. You won't be able to see very well through them.
Go with Martin Fields protectors. Way more expensive, but worth it. I have one now.
I've used a Martin Fields one since day they were released and, combined with my HTC pull cord case, I've not got a mark on my handset. Small outlay for piece of mind IMO
I got some of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/FoneM8-Desi...UKGK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305831209&sr=8-1
Crystal clear, cheap as chips and doesn't interfere with the phone in any way.

exactly the same as me since i bought my desire. perfect combination and my desire still looks like new.
I'm using Martin Fields atm. I like the fact that it comes with camera protector as well. On the other hand I find it more "scratchable" than Brando Crystal Clear I've been using before. After a year it's so scratched I gotta change it. I'll try either 3M Vikuti or Writeshield Crystal now - these are are said to be among the best.
I do recommend to buy a good screen protector and apply it properly - this is a really good guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015394
You'll never notice it's there, it'll serve you a long time, you won't have to bother with several ****ty cheapos that require frequent changes and worsen the overall user experience (worse screen clarity, bubbles, don't fit to screen properly, don't stick on the edges, unpleasant in touch etc.).
This is my take on screen protectors.
I've been using a Zagg protector for the last 6 months. Excellent protection but find the screen isnt 100% responsive or smooth.
Tempted to try another but worried that it wont go on and fit as well as the zagg...
Has anyone experience with the original HTC-Ones (HTC SP P360)?

I had a Zagg and hated it. It distorted my screen and was not smooth to touch and drag on. I have the Vikuiti (3M) one mentioned in the "perfect application of a screen protector" thread and I couldn't be happier. I've had it on for more than a month. If I didn't know better I wouldn't even know it was there. It's VERY smooth and crystal clear so it doesn't interfere with the screen at all.

OK, just noticed a bloody scratch on the phone. It's in my pocket (on it's own, nothing EVER goes in the same pocket as my phone) and when not in my pocket it's face up on my desk at work or on the coffee table at home so I've no idea how it happened
Would anyone here look to get it replaced as I'm tempted to?
Gorilla Glass is simply not scratch proof
Compared to other screens(displays) it is more durable, but it is still possible to brake and/or scratch it.
If I was within my 14 days I'd return it, they didn't check any of the phones I returned for scratches and what not...just for the problems I stated.

@EddyOS
HTC (or any other manufacturer tells operators "extremely high durability"
Most of them (80%) do understand that as : unbreakable, unscratchable , anti-fingerprints but this is simply not true. (Smart step form HTC )
as for the people who sell the phones. They are just simple sales man they mostly don't even know how phones hardware works or in this case what Gorilla glass is.
They have only one goal : To sell handsets

I know that! I wasn't conned into buying the phone but even the Gorilla Glass website says that it should withstand a bit of fluff (or whatever has managed to get onto the screen of my phone). I have had a lot of phones and always do my research before getting one and, as it happens, I won this Sensation.
As for screen itself, it is contoured as it should be but regardless the screen is ALWAYS face up so it shouldn't matter
Maybe they upgrade it to King Kong glass instead of Gorilla.

Gorilla glass is brilliant imo but its not bomb proof. I have the slightest little scratch on my screen but I dread to think what it would be like with normal glass. But I was still disappointed, so now iv found some good screen protectors and all of a sudden aswell as protection, I can't even see the scratch anymore.

As a fellow scouser and vodafone migrent i feel compelled to help.
I got my Sensation from their forum for an early upgrade all went well, the first 2 and a half weeks i had that screen problem where it wouldnt unlock.
i contacted the forum and they took too long to respond, so I took a step to call 191, they where fantastic, despite it being way out of the 7day cool off by about 10 days they exchanged it with out fuss.
my advice would be to call them and not use the forum as they are very slow to respond, and when calling do not mention a scratch, they will deem this as your fault so use the 'my screen is not working properly, when i touch it, 2 out of 5 presses are not registered'
i am 95% positive that way you will have a new phone by the end of next week!
edit: just realised you have insurance, I didnt so I am even more positive they will exchange it!

You will probably find the scratch is on the anti-glare/anti-fingerprint coating on the screen rather than the glass, assuming it has that coating on the gorilla glass like the GS2 has.
Let's be honest, a small scratch caused by yourself isn't really a justifiable reason for swapping a phone, unless you lie Vodafone will refuse it. And that goes double for the insurance.

But it wasn't caused by myself. I treat my phones like the most precious thing in my life, polishing it every other time I use it to remove finger prints/grease, etc. It lives alone in my pocket when moving between sites otherwise it's on my desk or coffee table with nothing else around it so I just can't see what scratched it.
Since I've had the phone I've even turned my pockets inside out to check for debris as I didn't wanna scratch it until I'd got a case. I'll see what Vodafone say and go from there. See Martin Fields have released a screen protector so I'll get one ASAP as it was perfect on my Desire

Unless it was on the phone when you bought it, it was caused by yourself, even if you can't think of an explanation of how it happened.
I know how you feel, I have a tiny scratch on my GS2 which also has GG and I can't think for the life of me how it happened -- I put a screen protector on it two days after getting it and changed it for a better protector about a week ago. While changing the protectors I noticed the scratch which could have only happened in the first two days while I was treating it like gold dust. Luckily, it's so small it can't be seen through the screen protector so I'm not bothered about changing it.

Cons:
-There is no hole for a lanyard (rope thing)
-Capacitive Touch Buttons are a little awkward to press, but you get used to it.
-Speaker calls are pretty bad and you sound like you are in a tunnel, but normal calls (no speaker) sounds good
-The headphone jack cover is a flimsy rubber piece that can scare you but it does indeed work so its just a con because it causes fear.
Thats all that i have encountered and really they arent bad.
I currently have it on my phone right now and even went to the pool yesterday for a swim.

I feel like it really doesn't matter. The quality of screen protect that comes with the Otterbox is great. The nuud also has an optional screen protector which I don't use but might start because my screen is getting scratches.

Okay cool, make sure you report back with some pictures and stuff cause I also wanted the Otterbox but chose this one instead since my best buy didn't have any Otterbox preservers
i think for the price of the otterbox the seidio obex is better
Hi,
Currently I'm using Seidio Obex with holster and it is pretty good case. It is really waterproof case (I've check it ), and screen protect is amazing.
But there is couple things which are not so good, first of all sound is a bit muffled and second thing is that some ppl will complain about it size, but for me it isn't so important.
As a conclusion, I can only say that, for me personally it was really good purchase and I'm looking to buy additional car mount to holster.
I have the nuud and its the best case I've bought. It comes with an optional scratch guard also in case you want to protect your screen without an annoying built in screen protector.
