Ok...here is whats happening...i go to bed and leave my phone on the charger for the night. Last night just to be sure it was fully charged before I went to bed. Woke up this morning and it said it was at 100%. Take it off the charger and place it next to my keys. I get ready for work (20 min. tops) and check my phone to see that its at 75%??? It does this every morning....any suggestions? And yes I recalibrated the battery stats after flashing the ROM. (using GummyCharged 1.5) 2.3.4 gb
Lil help please...
sounds like you have an app running that is pulling more battery resources then it should. OR you may just have a bad battery. There are a lot of accounts of people only getting 5/6 hours of battery time, no matter what they do. If you've calibrated and it's been going on a while. I would contact customer service about a replacement battery. But check your running apps first. .
I had similar issue. Not only that my battery dischaged quick, but it took forever to charge it. Called Verizon customer service and they sent me a replacement. Issue went away. Hope this helps.

ok, so I'm running faux's rom and I have run CM 7. I have tested this a few times and each rom and it seems to help improve battery life.
Since the drivers are screwy I noticed when I charged my phone it would say 100% but I would unplug it and it would drop down to 97% right away. I think the lower number is the accurate one, So the battery really isnt getting fully charged because the phone thinks it is so of course it will die sooner
So what I did was let it charge to 100% then unplugged it, it went down right away. I plugged it back in and it started charging again, in a few minutes it showed 100%, I unplugged and it showed 97%, so I kept repeating this then eventually I unplugged and it was 98%, then eventually 99%. After doing this my battery lasted a lot longer. I usually have keep an extra battery on me and usually have to switch but for the first time my g2x lasted the whole day! So give this a shot.. it could help if you suffer from really bad battery life.
Off topic.
Im From Southern California...be visiting New York on Monday. Good stuff...small world some times.
could unplug, then turn off, plug in and charge while off for a while, the unplug and turn on, then plug back in and let charge. then wipe batt stats and unplug. works for me.
I have one extra battery. I never charged my phone through the charger it came with. I always charge my battery with the portable charger. No doubt the portable charger takes 6-8 hours to fully charge my battery, but on the upside my battery lasts for more than a day.

I noticed a similar thing recently. I generally charge my phone overnight while I'm sleeping and use it for an alarm clock. One morning I decided to reboot my phone (my experience is that it needs a reboot every couple of days or various things stop working) before I got up, so I powered it down, still plugged into the charger. I then tried to power it on, but instead of the boot screen I got the device-off charging animation, indicating that it wasn't fully charged, even though it had said 100% before I powered it off. After letting it sit and charge while off for another hour or so, I booted it, and I think I got exceptionally long battery life that day (although my days are all so different it's hard to compare one to another).
I think bump charging does help, but its not good for your battery in the long run

well hopefully they fix the driver issues so we wont have to do it too much longer One can hope right? hahaha
I've installed the Yelp, Movies, and Amazon app, nothing else, and I'm losing around 15% an hour with light/normal usage.
I've let the battery run down to 0 and recharged completely, I've turned off gps and wifi, and still get really bad life. I live in the Bay Area and get a solid signal all of the time. There's really no excuse for it.
Please don't tell me to flash to a rom, because that's obviously not fixing the issue. Light browsing and the occasional Google Maps has my phone at <20% by the afternoon.
Battery stats just show android system and screen brightness taking up power. What's the deal?
I also constantly have at least 255 / 328mb in use even with all applications closed.

The mb usage is normal i noticed this on stock because of Verizon apps that run in background. As far as not using the phone and only getting 6 good hours of use. i would take to the store and ask if they could change out the battery. Hope this helps.
+1 for that, sounds like you have a defective battery.

Thats about how long my battery gets me.
And if I forget to power down my phone at night, or put it on a charger it is dead by morning no matter how much of a charge it has before I go to bed.
I have an extended battery starring me in the face and can't use it yet since I couldn't find a door and had to have one shipped from Samsung.
Hopefully the extended battery cures my issues.
(I am running Gummy Charged 2.3.3 Beta, currently waiting for the 2.3.4 release)

I am curious as to what you guys are running. And if you go to bed with your phone on , and its dead by morning I can PROMISE you there is either something going on with your phone, or you are doing something wrong (i.e. you have your phone set to never sleep, your screen is set to maximum brightness, your are leaving your phone in desk cradle mode, etc etc etc.) But it's not the phone. May be a bad battery, but without being at your house and seeing what you are doing, I have no intelligent answer for you.

charge phone to 100%, boot into clockwork recovery and wipe your battery stats, then use the phone until you completely drain your battery until it shuts off. Then charge back up completely. This will calibrate your battery. try running a customer rom such as gummy charged or humble to see if you get bettery battery life... thousands of users have reported great battery life with both
I had same crummy battery life. I followed the calibration instructions and i went from about 5-6 hr batt life to ( right now im at almost 11hrs with 66% battery left on wifi with moderate use). Ill test tomorrow on 4g only and see how it does. I would get like 4-5 hrs before.

I am running the latest humble and my battery drops really fast. If I go into task manager and clear my RAM, I get better battery. I calibrated per the instructions as well about a week ago or so and saw no improvement. Please note that I have not been scientific about it at all.
Stopping Data obv helps a million and clearing RAM seems to help as well.
EDIT: I am recalibrating in case it was not done properly before. Hopefully it will help. I am hopeful!
I charged my battery to full, booted into clockwork recovery and wiped my battery stats.
When I rebooted my phone it shows a 73% charge?

If you are on humble 1.x then that means your battery stats were way off. Basically your battery still needs 23% more charge before its full... thus better battery life... because you had a miscalibrated battery, your phone is erroneously reporting a full charge... charge it back to 100% then discharge fully then charge all the back up

I'm on Gummy Charge GRE, but I assume the same reason?
I exchanged my battery at verizon. So far it seems better. Ive let it drain and am recharging now. I will also try uninstalling g+ if the new batt hasnt solved the problem. I will post back with an update.

I switched out my battery 2 days ago, and I'm still getting under 6 hours with moderate use.
Has anyone had luck with ROMs drastically improving battery life? I can't imagine it being the phone itself, but I might try exchanging it too.
EDIT: it seems like the new battery charges a bit faster. My old battery would take around a minute for one percentage gain. Can anyone comment on their charge times?
Hey Guys
I bought my HTC Sensation about 3-4 days ago. No root, No S-OFF. For past few days, i followed battery charging procedure, drained battery completely, left phone off, and charged it. I did same procedure few times. Doing this procedure really improved battery life on HTC Incredible S.
Anyway, last night, battery was running low 30% after 14 hr use. I needed alarm for morning so, at 10pm i plug phone to charger and left it on. 4:30 am, got up, and orange led light (charger indicator) still on. Check phone, and it still charging. Checked battery and it shows 50% charge. Anyway unplugged it, fetched to work put on charge, after about 1.30 hr still at 60%.
Decided to restart phone, as soon i did restart, battery went back to 100%.
Does anyone experienced this?
Nope, that sounds weird. I would suggest battery calibration for you if this is a reoccuring thing.

Do i need S-OFF or rooting to get battery calibrated?
Is any other way to get it calibrated without root or S-OFF?
Oh crap. I think you do need to be rooted to use the calibration app. My bad. Try using the search button? I would do it, but I'm not on my computer now.

My battery took forever to charge the 1st couple of times... After about 3/4 charges it sorted itselft out. Good luck
I am kinder hoping it was one of software glitch, hopefully it won't happen again. Will report back after few more charge cycles.

Mine also took a long time the first few charges (probably 5 hours or so). It now charges in well under 3 hours.
Same here. When new & after a factory reset, it will take a LONG time to recharge. But will sort out after a few cycles.
Thanks guys,
I don't know what happens, but after 5hr use (heavy use), few voice calls (one about 30 min) emails sync every 15 min. Battery shows me that i used only 9%, impressive! I installed battery widget to see if some software issue, but seems to be only 1% out. Phone shows 90% life left, widget 91% (but still calibrating)
Hello Xda community!
I'm not sure why, but recently my phone seems to be draining battery life quite quickly over night.
The really weird thing is this time, my phone was on the charger.
I put my phone on the charger before I went to bed last night, and the battery was at 65%.
When I got up the next morning, my phone was off for some reason, and I find that I only have 3% battery left.
Not sure if my battery is lying to me, but I have been running off the supposed "3%" battery life for a good 30 minutes now.
Either my battery is glitched or something else.
Any feedback is appreciated.

First, use zeppelinrox's Die Hard Battery Calibrator, and then after you finish the steps it gives you an option to view what is taking up battery life, uninstall any apps that cause wake locks. Also, you're going to want to freeze the default android gallery and get a 3rd party Gallery (I recommend quickpic.) As the 3D gallery can cause huge battery drain.
Received my #Note5 last wed. Brand new out the box. When i got it the battery was at 5%. No problem. I turned it off until i got home. Good home. Charged it. I noticed after an hour of "fast charging" the battery wad at 93%. I fell asleep, woke up 2 hours later. Battery was still at 93%. I unplug and decided to let it discharge so i can try again.
Second charge, the battery gets to 100%, but then quickly drains down to 92%. (No exaggeration, the battery went down to 92% in 5 minutes). This happens again on the 3rd charge. Abs since then i only get about 4 to 5 hours of battery life with regular use. (Nothing excessive) it even dies quick on standby and on power save mode. Did i hey a bad Note? I've read reviews about the battery being pretty good, but I'm just not seeing it. Wondering if i should take it back to sprint. I'd it worth it?
Exchange the device. Won't hurt to try.
Please take it to a Sprint service and Repair store and have them look at it. This does not sound like the correct behavior. Thanks!
I did. The guy said it's something internally wrong. So I'll be getting a new one. ?
I am glad that worked out!
Smh. Same problem. New note, had it about 3 weeks now, battery still giving me problems. Im not doing anything crazy or putting any strain on the battery and thus is whats happening. Is it just me or what? Seems like im the only one having an issue with the battery life. Smh

Try this before taking it back.
plug your phone to the charger and wait until it shows 100% then.. Dial *#0228# unplug your phone and hit quick start, you may see a popup warning , just hit OK, unlock your phone and you will realize your phone have been lying to you
Plug it again and repeat until level 100% matches with your battery icon showing 100%, you may not need it, or maybe need to do it 2 or 3 times
I have not had any issues on my note 5 but it worked great on my note 3.
Ok so update.. monday when i got home i decided i wasnt going to fast charge my battery, instead use the regular charger adapter. Betsy is at 100% tried the *#0228# said the battery was at 100%. Went through regular use and the battery ended up last about 12 hours. (Minus a few hours downtime for me being sleep ill give it a good 8 hours) ok cool. So after ut got down to about 20-15% i charged it again with the regular adapter. This time (with sleep time added) i got about 16 hours on the battery. Ok cool. Another regular charge, 16 hours but i charged it here and there in between. Today around 4 i decided yo fast charge it. 100% around 5 o'clock. Its now 3:16am my time and im at 29% 9 and half hours on the battery... i also noticed in the beginning on fast charge the battery died a lot faster. So i think what ill do is charge it with the regular adapter for now on unless I'm in a situation where i have no choice but to fast charge like if im at work or something. All is well now. ???
