Go to COMM MANAGER, you will see a speaker there. If the speaker is ON you're in trouble LOL, just turn it off whenever you need absolute silence . Best advice, while in school, turn off your phone and attend to class!
Strange... I'm using Gnat's 6.1 and when the keypad is locked (via holding the End Call button), the volume buttons take the phone out of standby but they don't alter the volume at all. The only key that does anything is the left soft key, aka the Unlock key when in locked mode. The volume buttons and the soft keys/home key/back key all turn the screen back on but don't function at all otherwise, until the phone is unlocked.
Are you using a different keypad lock program or something? Or are you also holding the End Call button to lock the keypad?
Mine alter the sound while the phone is locked - yes, it's bug.
I don't know how to fix that either, but I'm sure somebody on here does. Should be simple for somebody who is familiar with phone's registry.
OK . If anyone is working on it (registry fix) please post here results. By the way : in my school everyone have phones turned on, and silenced.

I don't understand what is your main issue. Is it MUTE the phone, then just turn off the sound. Edit your "silence" profile and make sure you have sounds turned off when you are in "Silence" mode. No mater where your side button points the volume to, Silence profile will determine if there will be sound or not. But you need to EDIT the profile and set it acordingly. The issue with the bottons, is something that will mostlikely be taken care of when a final WM6.1 comes out. For now, all there is are experimental test roms.
The same problem. It is still possible to adjust volume while keypad is locked
I'm still very confused by all this. I don't have this problem. I put the phone in Vibrate mode, lock my keypad, let the screen go black, then press the volume buttons. The screen comes on but the volume is unchanged, no matter how many times I press the buttons.
I understand , that the ringtones are silenced with other metods, but if I am using some kind of programs what are making noise, when in use ( for example some communicators) I know I can silence ringtones by Profiles , but I just want to find some solve for this problem, and not only me want this.
If someone is interested:
I had an issue with AEButton+ and the Device lock as the green/red buttons are not locked. As my green button turns by multiple clicking WiFi on/off and BT on/of my TouchPro kept turning WiFi/BT on/off in my pocket (if the power button was pressed so the screen is actually on but device locked) and for some reason - see below - the buttons aren't locked at all.
So here is the registry key to lock all the buttons:
Anyone who wants to act the keylock as the device lock:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\KeyLock]
"SameAsDeviceLock"=dword:00000001
Seems that it doesnt work that way either
Hey, I got my samsung galaxy s yesterday and I have a problem..When I have silence mode on with vibration it doesn't vibrate when i recieve a new sms and that really bugs me..any solutions? I've tried sound manager and it doesn't work.
Please Help Me!
/Anton
the volume buttons... on the side... can fix that for you. press the down button until you get to the "vibrate" setting... and um, press the up button to turn the ringer back on and away from the "vibrate" setting -- the more times you press the up button the louder your ringer will be and visa versa until you get to the silent mode :/
that silent mode in the notifications section is just pointless in my opinion :/
I also had this problem today at doctors office, and missed a call.
I'am new to this phone and forum, but found this works. This is just one way,
I'am sure there are others too.
From Home Screen, Select Menu, Select Settings, Select Sound & Display
Check Silent Mode to "ON"
Check Phone Vibrate to "ON" (I leave this "ON" all the time anyway)
This way you only have to toggle ON & OFF the Silent Mode, as the Vibrate
always stays "ON", unlike if you use Silent from the Notification Screen. I don't
know why.
I have a Tasker profile for car mode which disables the keyguard when plugged into a USB power source. This is for use when in the car and the phone is in landscape mode. The issue I'm having is whenever I first try to use the navigation bar or pie after unlocking, I have to first press the home button, then phone will first have to toggle back to portrait then snap back to landscape before I can use the navbar/ring/pie. If I press any button/navring/pie before pressing the home button it will do nothing. Does anyone have any idea on how to stop this? It's been a KitKat issue since I got the phone at launch. Never had this issue with ICS/JellyBean using the same profile.
Is there any way i can disable the edge panel during a phone call ? I keep hitting the mute button during calls by mistake . I tried the call sertings and no luck. Thanks.
Bump ?
Ask not what your developer can do for you, ask what YOU can do for your developer.
Is this for calls that you take on the edge?
If so you can hit the maximize button and it will open in full screen and the mute button would be in the middle of the screen.
Other then that I believe there is a setting to lock the whole screen during a call. You would have to press the power or home button to turn the screen back on.
