Sorry, but you are looking for something that is not here.
Do you know where can i find it?
Not working with my chinese device
tried and failed with it.....any solution ?????
I checked few more posts about wpa_supplicant. It looks like the generic or posted files works on some device models. May be It depends on device configuration as well. wpa_config is associated file which may also need some change relavant to the wpa_supplicant or need modification for specific device models.
I am dont understand the code fully. I hope someone will sort it out
it's working on samsung galaxy s and many htc phones with
2.1 / 2.2 / 2.2.1 ( some 2.3.3 also if )
Hi.
I've just set up an Ad-Hoc network so I can use the connection in the kitchen, and whilst my PC finds it fine, but my HTC Sensation won't even detect the network.
Apparently this is a problem with Android?
Is there anyway to enable the ability for Android to detect Ad-Hoc networks on the HTC Sensation.
Have the same questions. Searching the net for a couple of hours doesn't give me any answer please help

Hey, best way I have found to use my Sensation in an AdHoc network is to create the AdHoc network via your phone. As long as you have root access, install Barnacle WiFi Tether and run that. It will give you an AdHoc network discoverable by your laptop

Enable Ad-hoc WiFi network for Sense Roms ( Working 100% )

this Problem occures because Android filters the ad-hoc networks from wifi search results , means Android discovers them , but not showing them to you !!!!!!!!!
there is a patch for Desire HD that i used on my Incredible 2 ( working 100% ) called ( DHD_Adhoc_Support.zip ) link in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386601&highlight=AdHoc+Enable+Networking
there is another one for sensation called ( Ad-hoc Sensation-Ad-hoc.zip ) . i don't remember from wher i downloaded it . i don't have sensation phone to try it , but i am sure it will work . Update link http://www.multiupload.com/A6AGJVX7A0
this patch will replace your original file in your Rom , so do a nand before you try
All sense Roms i tested have problems with wifi ???
there is a small yet powerful Software Called Connectify Pro that does three things :
Acts like an actual hardware Router ( Not software networking )
toggle wifi with a single click for either ad-hoc or hotspot
automatically does all complicated configurations for all types of network to fit with your firewall and windows
And more , i can't do without it
hope that would help , Please hit thanks if you found it useful for you
Enjoy

Thanks for your explanation. Unfortunately the patch for DHD does not work on ICS. Do you have another link for Ad-hoc Sensation-Ad-hoc.zip cause the one you gave is no longer available. And I found other links but also not available.
Do you know if the Ad-hoc Sensation-Ad-hoc.zip work under ICS ?
Thank you
I had exactly the same problem and after many hours of testing and failures i manages to find a solution that gives me what I want, connect my HTC Sensation 4g with my Ubuntu's 12.04 ad-hoc network!!! (I thing it can work with other platforms too)
Since i have posted the solution to another thread i will give you the link of the thread.
Look at post #6

Hope this is helpful
Thanks

Sensation-Ad-Hoc.zip - Edit: I don't know if this will work or not, I was just able to find it and rehost it. If it works please let me know.

Thanks for your link, I found it already but not working totally for ICS. Here have a tuto I made for be able to connect an ad-hoc network with a Sensationhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559265 So far this method worked 100% for me but restrict your connect at only one ad-hoc network.
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
Hi,
First post, please gimme a break if I miss one the rules.
I just picked up a xoom 2 wifi yesterday, which I rooted in order to get support for ad-hoc wireless connections by replacing /system/bin/wpa_supplicant, as detailed e.g. here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754961
I used the 0.6.10 version, but adb logcat shows
Code:
E/wpa_supplicant (940): Unsupported driver 'tiwlan0'.
and I, being a n00b, did not backup the original version, so I'd like to ask two things
- Has anyone succeeded in using ad-hoc on the XOOM 2 ?
- Can anyone provide an original/stock /system/bin/wpa_supplicant ?
Thanks for any help!
I haven't tried this before but here is the stock file which you have requested:
http://db.tt/AkilIRzX
This works, thank you very much.
Try using the supplicant from our old Tiamat rom builds. I'm pretty sure it was patched for adhoc for bcm4329 drivers.
Can I place a link to my guide how to enable adhoc on XOOM2?
Let me know if it is out of XDA procedures.
I just got adhoc workin. See as follows
xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-2-development/16732-xoom2-adhoc-mode-enable.html
Hi all!
I'm trying to connect to the tor network with my SGR.
I was reading something about this in xda, but for the SGR didnĀ“t find anything.
In the orbot official page, ( https://www.torproject.org/docs/android.html.en ) sais that with this app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.torproject.android ) we can get access to the tor network.
We need a rooted phone, and a rom (in the page names the CyanogenMod rom ) that supports iptables.
Well, now I'm running the lastest version of Adam's CM 10.1 (4.2.2) and the app works (it says that I get connection to the tor network) But the router to this network fails. I can't use any internet connection.
I try to find something in other XDA forums (in SII forum there is something... but I didn't find my error, and nothing about it) but I only find that in Jelly roms, is needed a fix for work. I try it, but not working....
My question is. Is there anyone using this app? And if someone knows about it... please can help me?
Thanks to everybody!!
(sorry for my english...)
I used Orbot on GB and it worked like a charm. Just like SSHTunnel did. Since ICS, SSHTunnel is broken (I was sad to see this and had to find out how MAC address changing works. ), even in CM. Maybe this issue is related to that.
Thanks Adam for your answer.
With Orbot App I can use whatsapp and the Orweb browser only. But all other apps can't use the tor network.
Probably Adam you're right about the ICS problem with tunneling is rellated with this problema
Thanks!!!
Hi guys. i love Jelly Bean 4.2.2. Jenkings build is the best 4.2.2 ROM out there for our O1, but one of the things that i complain about is that jenkings build does not support ad-hoc wifi networks. I downloaded programs to use a Virtual Wifi Network on my computer (i have windows 8) but it does not work properly because my WiFi card are not fully suported for this feature. So i can't have a stable wifi network. But WiFi ad-hoc works just well.
My question is: is there a way to add wifi ad-hoc support to jenkings build?

OK after a whole afternoon of research, i found an app that enables wifi ad-hoc support on our O1. i test it on evoking 1.9 beta but i believe it should work on any other jb roms (maybe on stock GB-FROYO? )
UPDATE: it does not work on Jenkings JB T_T
Moderators: i don't know if this app is a paid-app. i found it on a russian forum. its name is WiFi ad-hoc enabler (also i couldn't find it on play store)
