So I recently rooted my HTC Desire and installed Leedroid. Everything seemed fine, until I installed Launcher Pro. For some reason the animation when entering the app tray is very laggy, and sometimes when exiting the tray as well. I also noticed that the progress bar in the market doesn't work when downloading an app. So I decided to try a different ROM. Next I tried Gingerburst, but the same things happened. With Gingerburst I also had a problem with WiFi disconnecting the whole time.
Anyway my question is: Does anyone else experience these problems or know how to fix 'em. I know they're small thing (except for the WiFi), but still . Or can someone recommend a ROM for me to try next. There are so many I don't want to try them all.
Thanks
Hello, I have worked wit leedroid ROMS with no problems at all. Did you click on wipe data before installing the rom?.

I used Oxygen on my desire.
If you ask me it's the best rom for the desire.
Very slim and clean, just the basics and then you install what you want.
I did a wipe in recovery before flashing the rom yes. What was weird was that I had exactly the same problems in two different roms. I think I'll try again doing something different (don't know what yet)

So I tried Oxygen ROM... very good! Everything works fine now BUT... I kind of miss Sense. At least some of the apps that came with it. Not a fan of the Sense launcher. But apart from that it's all good!
Can anyone recommend a ROM with Sense that's any good though?

Hi,
I am a noob to customised rom.
Virtuous Unity 1.27 is my first room and it is a good rom with most of the apps that I see forumers are expecting.
I am just wondering if there are more apps make the phone robust.
Thank you in advance.
Warmest Regards,
Max
I installed the CRT effect, is useless, but is nice to see.
You might want to tell us where to get it?
Can't find it in the market, nor on the Virtuous website...

Go to menu - settings - application - manage applications, you can see the remove applications and use it.
Do any of you guys have a problem editing the list of locations in the weather app on this ROM?
I installed it last night, everything works great but I can't update the weather app with multiple locations.
Also - how do you guys find battery life with this ROM and is there anything that we can do to improve it?
Battery life is pretty good, and the update for 1.29.0 just arrived so maybe you could update to the latest version.
Did you guys notice that the Voice Search is no longer working after flashing 1.27.0? or is it just my phone? COme to think of it, I didn't check if it was working before I flashed my phone.
maybe you should read the change log first...it helps a lot to know what you'll get after rom flashing..
Yes did realize that voice search is not working, not fixed at 1.29.0 yet...

I'll try, performing a backup right now just to be safe.
Will give you an update once i've checked if everything works.
Edit: I've installed it and everything seems to work,
everything still looks right and the windows animations are neat (not entirely my taste though).
Don't know if there might be anything wrong with in the long run though, so don't just rely on me.
Hey Guys!
Any help will do!
Installed Voidu S 1.1a ROM on my DS, works perfectly, smooth transitions etc.. BUT!!!
When I tried to install any app from new android market it says:
"Error Downloading <app-name>. There is insufficient space on the device."
Tried to reflash twice already!!! The same problem...
Tried to unmount SD and install then... no luck
Clearing Apps Cache won't help
Clean install with formated mSD....
Anyone with similar problem???
BTW, Virtuous Unity 2.37 ROM market works just fine!!! Flashed and tried!

Been running v1.1a myself since this afternoon when it was released, no such problems here, in fact just loaded market picket random app, download, installed and ran it to test theory.
Have you tried de-installing market and then re-installing.
Sorry.
No problems here.
If you want, try downgrading to the old market. I have a zip for it.
It is much faster and more reliable than 3.0 market.

Still nothing guys....
Downgraded to Old market, tried to download but it won't even give me an error this time, just turns off the download.
... Thanks for the effort. I am out of ideas!
Will try tomorrow... going to bed!!!

Using Voidu S 1.1a ROM with stock kernel and market is working fine. Just d/l and installed a data monitor.
During the day tried several ROMs:
- CoreDroid Desire S GB 2.3.3 V1.3
- Desires S Android 2.3.5 Sense 3.0 v1.2
- Virtuous Unity 2.37 Sense 3.0
- Doubleshot S v1.2
.... and now trying to install BeatMod v2.5 Flyer Sense
Android market works perfectly in all of them!!!!
... after that I will again re-flash to Voidu S 1.1a and see if it works!
thanks everyone!
It's a mystery!
Mysteriously after 5 re-flashes Voidu S seems to work now, market loads and downloads apps with no error.
Don't know how this happened, so don't ask!
Case closed!

Very glad to hear it as it's a great ROM, I'd suspect it had nothing to do with you or the ROM and more likely something out of your control like Google that was at fault....yer...blame them!

I would not be so hasty my friend.... Yes this problem is solved, but another sprang up. ((
Now if I download more than one app AT ONCE from market the system/phone just hangs/freezes and nothing happens... after that reboot by pulling out the battery...
That is very unpleasant....
Will go for Virtuous Unity for now... This one is very RAW. Need to wait!

It was not doing such things on my stock rom!!! so what's the real problem here!!!
Going for virtuous unity and will check if it works there!!!!
Though, could it be stock kernel I wonder??
I know that battery pulling is bad, have no time to install Android SDK (that is what needed for that, right?)...

You don't need to install A SDK just extract the files in my sig, takes two minutes.... And you'll regreat not spending those two minutes if you were to fry your device.
It could be related to the version of the market that you're using.

Thank you! Will take that into consideration! However, I have several questions:
Do those recommentations apply for stock rom with S-ON as well?
If I brick my phone by installing apps from the market, will I retain my warranty?
Otherwise it sucks knowing that you can brick your phone simply by using market!

Yes, the recommendations apply to everyone, with the specific eMMC chip type.
Warranty would cover fix.
Yes you're right though it does suck.

Download miui/adw launcher from the market. Probably the closest your gonna get without flashing actual Rom.

I am looking for a battery life near to the normal tuned roms battery life.
I don't think you'll be happy with an imitation launcher if you really want the MIUI look. I'd say stick with real MIUI, it gets better and better each week.

After flashing custom ROMs, device software isn't really the same as stock. Thus, although your device is identified as a Sensation, it is not on the default phone software. This causes problems (compatibility issues).. Unfortunately, this error cannot be fixed & in my opinion, cannot be fixed unless you go back to your stock software. On Sense 4.0 ROMs based on the Ville leaked RUU, I must say that you are actually using another phone's base. This is obvious to create problems.

I'm not really sure. Changing ROMs is the only solutions but nothing can be 100% perfect if you're using custom ROMs because there are a lot of inconsistencies.
try couple of fixes....delete the data of the app and then uninstall it ..then reinstall it again...if it still causing the issue
then go to recovery and do fix permissions..it takes some time...but helps a lot
EDIT: kgs1992 im afraid the solution you posting is too far fetched...these kind of things happen..when some permission issues happen..most of the times clearing data and fixing permissions in recovery will do ..also Elegancia is complete stock like..its bit themed that's all

I'm having an issue with finding the proper rom for my HTC One S. Until now, I've used TrickDroid, but I have issues with my phone restarting randomly when on calls after a month of use or so.
I'm looking for a new STABLE rom that is made to use on this handset, but am having issues finding ones designed for the T-Mobile One S. I used the search button on XDA to see if I could find an answer, but there didn't seem to be any results specific to my issue. Can any of you recommend a specific ROM that works well. I'm not a power user, and root so that I can use SetCPU to save battery life for the most part. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hm trickdroid is (usually) a stable rom.
if you arent a power user, just install the latest ruu for your device/carrier. should be stablest rom for you.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Not sure if it's my TWRP that's corrupted and now allowing proper rom installs, or if it's something else. It has me stumped. I've loaded Cyanogenmod 10.x and Trickdroid on it in the past, but now it's not letting me load either (as of yesterday). I'm giving it another go today, but if it doesn't work, I would have to believe that it's a corrupted recovery that needs fixed.
With that said, is there a way to update your recovery without having an OS loaded on the handset?
