I know that Evo has more ram and 3D, but worse: build quality, 2D photos and ergonomics. Sensation in my country costs 1650pln while evo will be on market for 2500pln in 2 weeks. So the price difference is huge.
I think that i wont use 3d at all, but what i do is a lot of multitasking like web, gaming, video streaming, music playing, online purchases through apps, SIP and voice calls, 2g to WiFi connectivity so im affraid about lack of ram for smooth performance.. anyone can give me an advice what will be better for me?
RAM is not the reason E3D is smoother than Sensation (if it is, I don't have an E3D to compare right now). My Sensation has like 280 MB free right now (don't look in task manager, it's showing the wrong amount of RAM free). Based on what you said, I think you already decided.
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
Besides, when we get custom ROMs, there will be more free RAM (Sense 3.0 takes up a lot)
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
Nah i did not decided yet what i m going to buy, but yes im pretty close.
Thats good to know that this 130 ram free is incorrect, becouse it hurt my eyes everytime i saw it. xD
So as a sensation user can u tell me have u ever had problems with performance? As an old SGS2 user i can say i did not (its 1GB ram as we all know).

It doesn't feel like dual core. Sense 3.0 is making it slow. Are you planning to install Custom ROMs? If yes,i think you won't have problems. This and the death grip are the only problems I have (and creaking, but it's not a big deal to me)
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
nope i dont want to use custom roms, sense is what for im buying htc. Guess i should go for evo, becouse ppl saying its faster..
I have now had both - as has my wife - We started with the 3D's and loved the phones but the Sprint Data Service was god aweful in my area (even within a 30 miles radius) - I was tired of Pandora/TuneIN/etc cutting out like crazy when I was driving around town.
So we are now on Sensations on TMobile and its quick around the same area - around 5000k down and 1000k up - depending on time of day, but never goes below 1800k - I never hit near that on sprint, speedtest were normally 100-200k on sprint.
Now, the phones - The sensation is a hair slower than my 3D, but I will also say the sensation feels better in my hands - It seems so much smaller even though its only slightly smaller than the 3D. The extra 256megs on the 3D Im sure helped, but Im not sure that does a ton for speed when you have free ram to start with.
I did have about 200 more on my 3D in Quadrant scores, which is odd - but still my Sensation is around 2300 on Quandrant now with the 1.5 overclock.
I think either phone is good ... I do miss the cool 3D for pictures, but that didnt outweigh being able to use my phone for data.
I have the sensation, and can tell you it is not slow. Previously I had a MT4G running sense 3.0 and it ran fine also, same ram, different processor. What is "dual core" supposed to feel like?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I went from an Atrix (Tegra 2) to Sensation, both dualcore, although the Atrix has a full 1GB ram. The speed difference is unnoticeable. Both phones run smoothly for me, although Atrix's motoblur is a little bit more sluggish than sense 3.0. Quadrant scores on the atrix are around 2500 whereas I get around 2300 on the sensation. Day-to-Day usage the sensation feels snappier and browsing is faster too. Gaming is about the same although the tegra 2 games aren't playable on sensation unless you do some modding. I also don't notice any difference in performance with the 1GB vs 768MB. The atrix actually reserves close to 512mb RAM for webtop/laptop mode so in reality only half of the 1GB ram is used most of the time.
The amount of RAM isn't what's causing the Sensation to be sluggy, it's the bad memory management. It was fixed in an OTA update for international Sensation's.
i would buy the sensation just because its wayy better
It all depends on what you want from the phone & which service is best in your area. I chose the S4G because I take a lot of pictures & I could care less about 3D. I liked the 8mp camera and I loved my existing T-Mo service. And trust me- the sensation is NOT slow by any means. It would have been cheaper monthly to go with the Evo 3D cause I have a backup line on my mom's sprint plan, but sprint service really sucks where I live. I have a Galaxy Tab on her plan & the data is ridiculously slow & I'm lucky to get one or 2 bars in my house on a good day.
I'm obviously gonna recommend the sensation, for the reasons I mentioned & because it gets better battery life than the Evo. It seems like CDMA phones are notorious for bad battery life, almost every one I've ever had needed to be charged all the time.
Thanks for ur answers, im going to buy sensation.
I too would recommend the sensation as i have had both. Sprint data is terrible that i definitely agree on. Your phone is only as good as its data speed what's the point in having all of this power if you can only get 400kbps download speed max in a 3G area. 4g for sprint is very spotty. I live in a 4g area and its spotty one. Minute 3G next 4g but the kicker is when you switch from 4g to 3G or vice versa you temporarily loose your data connection. With sensation in do not have the data problem as tmobile data is very snappy average about 5 mbps down and 1.5 up. U won't go wrong with tmobile.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Help deciding. If you're with Sprint then go with the 3D. Already with T-mo and have a grandfathered data plan then go with the sensation. I think the RAM difference is being overblown big time. I don't think the 3D responds faster due to it having more ram. I think it's due to the software that sprint has loaded on it, and the updates that it has pushed out. I mean, the sensation always has 120MB+ memory available, so wouldn't that be enough to handle a swipe on the home screen? The extra ram will allow the 3D to multitask a little faster/smoother but that's about it. Our Sensations are still yet to receive their first updates.
T-mobile is really bad when it comes to that.
EVO 3D has more RAM, but that doesn't matter, at least for now. There are enough free RAM all the time on the Sensation to run everything, adding more RAM alone won't improve its performance. The EVO 3D does feel a little smoother compared to the US version of the Sensation, but that's surely due to software problem which will be fixable by OTA or custom ROM. And that is only with Sense launcher. I don't notice any slowness outside Sense launcher. Right now the US version Sensation is running 1.28.xxx.x firmware, while the international version has just received an OTA to upgrade to 1.35.xxx.x. Users have reported that this OTA does make the phone run smoother.
EVO 3D has battery with bigger capacity, but EVO 3D's battery can be used in the Sensation.
EVO 3D has... well, 3D. Does that matter to you? 3D aside, EVO 3D camera is not as good as Sensation. I'm not just talking about pixel count, but color and image details. It does have a physical shutter button which is very handy though.
Basically both phones have almost identical spec, and if the spec of one phone satisfies you, the other also will. My suggestion is go to a tmobile and sprint store to play around with it. IMO, the design and build quality of the Sensation is just much superior, and that's why I got the Sensation after playing with both.
Have you actually seen the 3D on the EVO? Reminds me of those old mcdonalds hockey cards that were "holographic". Bleck.
Don't be a biatch,
If you're so into RAMs and speed buy a laptop, the sensation is already blazing fast!
That lite difference in clock power and RAM makes NO BIG difference at all!
Plus, to top it 3D is heavy, like A LOT. Where 250+ difference in MB doesn't make such a difference, a few grams in weight really makes it!! And the 3D is thicker, you won't be amazed at all by it. 3D is a new thing, now at it's present state you won't use it at all. I can't find a way in phone usage that would benefit a 3D glass or a stereoscopic camera. You have a 3D TV at home to view those 3D pictures? Is facebook in 3D?? (LOL)
The sensation is a real beauty of a phone, all of my friends were amazed by it's contures and "slim" (relatively) design..
I used to watch a lot news about upcoming phones before the sensation, but now that i got it, i care no more, i have all.that i need and not plan to buy a new one for a looooong time

I'm stumbled between these 2 device on T-Mobile.
Even though the Sensation has 768 MB ram, and the G2X has 512mb ram, from all the videos I seen on youtube, the G2X seems a lot faster than the Sensation.
From gaming point of view, which will get more support? the Geforce ULP or the Adreno?
There is already a good thread comparing the two phones.

An app called Tegra zone made by Nvidia list games designed for the Tegra 2 devices.
I think there are current about 10 games on the list. I have some games on the Xoom, and the visual quality is excellent. Not sure how much improvement you will see on a smaller screen.

I wonder if a stock HTC Sensation will run faster than a G2X.
To test it, we will need to root our phone and use app like SystemApp Remover to disable Sense, install ADW luncher on both devices and try it out.

Ja ja ja, no root no nothing just out of the box.
If you want just call HTC ,cry and tell them that Sense sucks.

I think you have misunderstood me, I was not complaining about Sense or lack of root. I was just point out a fair way to test the speed of both devices, which requires rooting our phone.
This is my 1st HTC android device, I'm currently enjoying the Sense overlay, and don't think it "sucks".
The fair is two units out of the box.

I had the g2x for two weeks and that thing was noticeably faster than the sensation running sense or adw without root/vanilla android. But the battery life was terrible on the g2x and I prefer the screen, form factor, and camera on the sensation.
I am actually surprised how nice sense is compared to the last time I used it. Big fan if they can get some of the slowness out of it.
Either way both phones are sweet.
I owned the G2X before the Sensation and was disappointed. The battery life was terrible and I had problems syncing it with my car's BT. I think the fact that T-Mobile is still "out of stock" of the G2X on their website speaks volumes about the phone. It has issues.
I have no complaints about the Sensation.
I'll let you know tomorrow when my Sensation arrives. The G2x is a very fast phone, it's just chalk full of odd bugs that in the end, were driving me nuts. I'll put them head to head and see which one I like the most.
I own both, and because of the data issues I'd say the g2x. The Sensation has a better feel and look imo. Audio is better on the g2x.
I think once the bootloader is unlocked on the sensation, it'll be a beast.

I also own both and the sensation wins with me hands down. I hate the g2x a total waste of my money so far I have no complaints with my sensation I am using adw so I don't have to fool around with sense but I do miss the contacts/dialer app of vanilla android
I had the g2x and sent it back. Non of the Rome are particularly special. The screen is really nice, but the phone has bugs. I prefer the button layout on sensation, though its not stellar sensation at least has a notification led, and g2x GPS doesn't work. Like, at all.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk
G2x was way faster. fastest android phone i've ever used. I didn't even think android was capable of being that speedy.
like someone else said, with the g2x i had to manually connect the bluetooth everytime i turned on the car.
Sensation connects immediately and hasn't given me any bluetooth hiccups. Only phone i've owned i can say that about.
I love sense, but i hate the overall slowness of the phone. Might be sense, or screen, or whatever, but g2x was blazing for me. sensation..... usable. not fast, and the lag isn't terrible but enough to notice.
The feel/form factor of the sensation is awesome. Feels like a true successor to the Nexus One. Unlike the Nexus S.
Hopefully once the sensation is rooted someone will make a ROM that makes it speedy while retaining Sense.
I dunno about this battery life thing though. Unplugged it (sensation) around 1230. It's 955 and power saver came on. I keep the screen brightness all the way down, all radios on except gps, gmail on push, yahoo/fb/twitter on refresh every 2 hours (update on screen unlock too).
The last Nexus one i had (ironically with the sense 3.0 rom), i unplugged it on a friday evening, monday morning it was around 30%. same radio/app setup as the sensation.
Oh, and for some reason the sense keyboard works much better than swype.
I was willing to trust LG with buying a phone (I use it for business also), and that was my biggest mistake.
The phone looks like someone just threw together a phone, without spending much time on testing. It has SO MANY issues that come right out of stock, that is unforgivable.
Ive had plenty of phones, and the only phone that was worst than the LG was the G1 - only because it was the first phone with android.
I just got the HTC and I must say im impressed with it, so far it seems really stable. Plus it feels better, it looks better and it acts better.
Forget about the LG, nobody should get that phone, because LG might think that their phone was a success, and they might make another one.
You are better off getting the MyTouch 4g instead of the G2x, but if you are wondering between the Sensation and the G2x - deff. get the Sensation.
I will be getting the Sensation on the 15th and I am currently using the G2X. After I play around with the Sensation, I will decide which one I am giving to my wife. I was one of the lucky ones who got a G2X with absolutely NO bugs and a great battery. There's no doubt that the G2X is faster and snappier than the Sensation so it all comes down to form. Hold both of them and see which one you like better. Also ask yourself if you want Sense or Vanilla. In my opinion the Sensation looks better but the G2X providing you get one with no bugs, performs better.

The only phone I would call a country mile over the G2X would be the SGSII because it both looks better and performs better than the G2X. The Sensation only looks better.

EVO 3D is a gimmick phone, how often will you use 3D? My brother has one and I played with his over the weekend and it's simply not my taste. The Sensation is a much sexier device as far as appearance goes, we all know that they have the same specs other than the camera. I say stick with the Sensation.
I have both devices sitting on fornt of me now. My 3VO will be going back tomorrow, but not due to the phone. Here in Tampa...Sprint is completely garbage. I cannot even check for facebook updates in under 5 minutes, and i get a buffer for pandora. Now device vs device, the 3VO is faster and more fluid, the OS is coded much better than the sensation. Once root is fully available for both devices i think it will be a toss up. 3VO 3D is not gimmiky at all to me, its pretty freaking awesome. If i could have the 3VO on any network but Sprint....i would have it.

really hard to say since it's your device...
if you like the whole 3D thing then there you go.
Sensation in the other hand is better looking device, 8mp camera that is capable of recording vids in 1080p, and reportedly have better battery life(according to Phonedog).
768 or 1gb... android OS, I don't think it would matter much. look at G2x.
only reason I think the Evo feels snappier is perhaps HTC optimized the Sense 3.0 abit... plus less bloatware.
both nice device though.

Sorry for the double post
The 1 GB of ram is definitely used, my sensation runs down on RAM quite frequently. I notice they did a better job of tweaking min free and such on the 3d, and less of it's RAM is being held for system processes.
I played with one at a Best Buy this morning. I had my Sensation with me to compare. They are a lot alike . I must say the Evo3D does seem snappier or quicker and perhaps a little smoother. However I was not impressed with the 3D aspects of the phone. They both felt identical in my hands. I will stay with the Sensation, at least for a few more days until nearing the end of my remorse period.

which set should I go for, should i buy HTC sensation or wait for EVO 3D???

Since Evo 3D is coming out on Rogers pretty soon, I would suggest waiting until you can man-handle a live demo unit at the store and see if you like the overall quality of the phone. On the other hand, the sensation from bell isn't gonna go anywhere any time soon so if you're patient, I would suggest playing with both at the store and see which one you like best. In terms of spec both are almost alike. Build materials, however, are contrasted by aluminum vs rubber/plastic.
imo:
Do you care for 3D camera+screen on a phone?
if not I would go for the sensation.
**Although I am not sure about this but I heard from various sources phones from Rogers will work on Fido without sim-unlock? so you could potentially save on the cost of unlocking though they are pretty cheap to unlock ($15+/-)
if you are into tweaking, flashing, etc, go for the Evo 3D
=> Most things we can use sa far for the Sensation (temp root, overclock) came first for the evo 3d and were ported, or already compatible, for the Sensation.
Look at the forum here, there's less development here as on Evo3d, even if both have a locked bootloader. Devs and chefs are not on the Sensation...........
If you are not into big tweaking, or can wait for a few days/week until everything is ported for the Sensation after the Evo3d, and if browsing the internet and photos/video are important for you, go on the Sensation: qHD screen, great 8MP photos and full HD video.
Id say go for the sensation. The 3d gimmick in my opinion is not worth the extra cash, especially on small screens. The battery life already sucks with dual core so imagine how bad battery life would be on a 3d screen.

I would go for the Sensation. You're not gaining much by waiting for the EVO 3D. You won't regret getting the Sensation at all.
spec wise there pretty similar minus ram increase in Evo 3D.
Go check one out look at some reviews and such, its whether or not you want 3D on your phone or what carrier offers you the better monthly price.
3D on a phone in this day n age is kind of dumb. Rapes battery and viewing range is severely limited, and unless you have a 3D TV, 3D computer monitor, etc. you wont really benefit from it greatly. Cool idea tho..
Evo 3d, easy.
My sister has a Evo 3D and to be honest the Sensation blows it away build quality wise. It just feels that much more premium in your hands and is nice and thin. Sensation also records in 1080P and Evo 3D only records in 720P. The Evo does have more RAM but I have not noticed any slowdown on my Sensation whatsoever so I'm a happy camper. Plus once we get S-Off...custom ROMs will make this thing fly even faster

perfectly right
so differences are:
Sensation: qHD screen (only WVGA for Evo3D. A real plus for web browsing!), 1080p recording (in .3gp, this format sucks), better design. Can heat up, but less than the Evo3D it seems.
Evo3D: 3D display (that will kill battery, but you don't have to always use it!) more RAM, more devs working on it (every tweak and hack of the Sensation was made for the Evo first), less "death grip" for wifi and bluetooth than the Sensation
Ram doesn't really matter, as said above, it would matter if Sensation could get low ram, but it doesn't happen.
I have a Sensation, but would go for an Evo 3D I guess (or a galaxyS2...)

RAM dose matter a lot if your computer had 312MB of RAM and u added 200MB and made it 512MB you would see a nice difference. And yes the Evo 3D has over 200MB more RAM. Just putting the truth in the air to kill the lies.

I like the idea of having more RAM but the Evo is god ugly with those dual camera's. I wouldn't br caught dead using one.

Hi all I'm in need of a new phone. I want to stick with android and I have it down to either the Samsung Galaxy S 2, the HTC sensation or the HTC evo 3D. In order of importance I'm looking for :
1- Battery life... I need the phone to last all day through emailing, texting and phone calls with Bluetooth. I have the Samsung captivate right now and I charge it 2 or 3 times a day and have tried almost every Rom put there to try and improve battery life.
2- ability to flash roms although I think they're all pretty easy
3- built quality
4- camera quality
As far as performance I'm guessing they're all great considering they're dual core.
Input is welcome. Thanks
I would like to write HTC sensation, but if you want better life of battery you should choose SGS2
SGS2 is good, HTC not too good!

Wouldn't you want to decide which carrier to use first?
I will unlock and use on Rogers. The EVO 3D will be a Rogers phone out in 2 weeks.

I have heard from peeps with the EVO 3D that the battery life isn't anything spectacular. On par with the EVO 4G which means it is just "OK".
Does Rogers have any kind of tryout policy like some others? I know on Sprint you have 30-40 days to try the phone and return for different one if you don't like it. This is what I would do. All good phones and there is good/bad with each.
Yes Rogers has a tryout for 30 minute talk time and I think 14 days. The evo is from Rogers so I might try that. The galaxy s2 and the sensation are from bell so I would have to unlock them which means I couldn't return them.

Seeing that you're a Samsung user now, maybe you'd like to try out HTC. But the SGS has one thing over HTC phones: a sort of internal SD card that handles data like Data2SD--without needing to root or flash anything. That, plus longer battery life should make SGS II the winner. (it pains me to say that, being an HTC fanboy)
Easy choice. I don't care about 3D on a cellphone. To me it's a gimmick. Plus Sprint does not offer their lame 4G in San Diego while TMobile offers their HSPA+. Therefore I would go with the Sensation. It averaged 6.5 Mbps down and 1.75 upload using SpeedTest. I can live with that.

^Sounds like you know nothing and just want to shoot down Sprint, which has nothing to do with the OP's question. Hmmm...
Anyways.
I love my E3D, but if you're looking for battery life I'd say SGSII. AS far as build quality goes, the Sensation and E3D have a FANTASTIC build quality, especially the Sensation. The Sensation also looks the best out of the three as well if you ask me. The dedicated camera button and high(er) quality screen on the E3D make it good as well, and also the available RAM on the E3D sets it apart. Once it gets rooted the development will wayyyy take off for the E3D too. All the phones have their benefits and downsides though, like the fact that the E3D can't do 1080p recording. The SAMOLED+ screen on the SGSII is spectacular too, but unfortunately it isn't qHD res like the Sensation and EVO 3D.
What it really comes down to is what fits your needs within a phone but they're all solid phones to me.
I've handled all three as well, so I'm not just throwing **** out there.
SGSII

Having tested each phone, first the sensation for a week and then the SGS2 I would recommend the SGS2.
The sensation has a nicer ui by far. Sense 3.0 has a lot of bells and whistles that just make using it so nice. But after using the SGS2 i feel the great ui is a bit of a mask for weaker hardware. Albeit a very beautifully crafted mask that I would commend them on.
The SGS2 does have better use but for heavy usage the SGS you'll be recharging at 8pm vs the sensation at 6pm. It's not earth shatteringly different. I found out of the box the SGS2 was set up to conserve batteries more than the sensation (quicker screen timeouts, lower screen brightness, etc) however the sensation can be adjusted to narrow the gap.
In terms of screen quality the higher resolution on the sensation get's blown away by the better quality of picture on the SGS2, i constantly have people commenting on how nice my screen looks [Super AMOLED plus >>> qHD]
In the end i'd summarize it as the Sensation wins the out of the box Software contest but the SGS2 wins the hardware contest.
FWIW: You can change software but you can't replace hardware.
just my opinion/review
Thanks for all the input. Bought the Galaxy S2. Rooted, unlocked with the martket galaxy s unlocker and have been using the villain rom for the last 24hrs. Very smooth so far and absolutely no FC's or any issues. Battery life on day 1 has been pretty good after surfing, texting, some light games and 2 hours talk time over bluetooth, gmail, exchange mail etc. I have 45% left after 14hrs which is way better than previous phones.
The phone does feel very "plasticy" compared to the Galaxy S which had a nice solid feel and that metal back cover and even compared to some of the other phones I've had the last little while (X10, Desire Z, Droid2 Global, etc.), it is very light though, oh and the screen is fantastic!
SGS2 for my future. Dualcore & super amoled support 64GB.
Also very thin, I really like this phone.

While I was out walking the dog today, my Nexus One slipped from my hand and landed on the asphalt. The screen didn't take too kindly to that, and now I'm looking for a new phone. I'm on T-Mobile, and have had a G1 and Nexus One. I use Cyanogenmod as a daily driver, and have read about HTC releasing an unlockable bootloader, etc, so that all sounds fine, but I was asking about general build quality. How do you like it? Would you recommend it to someone coming from a Nexus One? How would it stack up against the G2X in your books?
Thanks for your responses.
Well I believe that if you're with Tmobile, you can't go wrong with the sensation 4G. It is arguably their best phone. The build quality is excellent and there isn't a sexier phone out on the market right now. It's a very capable phone, very fast ( not as fast as the G2x cause the G2x is running vanilla android) but it's still fast and when the devs make custom ROMs for this bad boy, we will get the true potential of this phone. Like Goku transforming into a super saiyan!
I have both the G2X and the Sensation. I will tell you that the only things the G2X has over the Sensation is a faster UI when phones are kept stock settings, its display has better contrast and, well, that's about it....
I use my Sensation much more because of the bigger display with higher resolution. It puts more content on the screen and text looks super clear/crisp. Apps and web browsing is faster in the Sensation than the G2X. Google maps takes a while to load as you scroll on the G2X but the Sensation loads maps instantely. The two games I play religiously look better on my Sensation and also run smoother. The camera is better and the video recorder is miles better. It also records in stereo sound instead of mono like the G2X.
On to the good part. Once you push Sense aside and load ADW or LP, the phones UI flies. It becomes as fast, if not faster than the G2X. In the end, Sense is giving it a laggy feel since HTC forgot to optimize it. That is why I'm not using Sense but like I said. A custom launcher will make this phone the fastest you have ever used.
The only thing I would change is the WiFi signal strength. Its not bad but I've had better. Good luck.

Thanks a lot. Your post was very informative. Looks like I'll be getting the sensation, because, like you said, the hardware is awesome, but sense is the limiting factor. I'll be getting CM7 on there as soon as nightly builds start. Thanks again
I just got the Sensation yesterday and I've had the G2x since day one and the Sensation is a better experience. I immediately installed ADW, rooted and froze Sense. The Sensation is so much smoother. I really like the G2x, but I love the Sensation.

I'm from the Galaxy S and I do think Sensation is a good choice.
Htc has certainly put a lot of work in its first dual-core phone.Although nowadays some software problems are seen but it's just htc's style. The hardware of this phone is rather good.
I got s-off yesterday and has started to try custom roms recently. It's great to be available to such interesting event again.
The Sensation, aside from Sense, will feel the most like the Nexus One physically. The G2x will look most like to Nexus One when you are actually using it. I would buy the Sensation. The LG is a faster device overall, no excuses, but it is not a significant speed difference and it is easy to choose the higher resolution screen and significantly better battery life of the Sensation.

Agreed with everyone above. The Sensation is a freaking good phone, and opening up to a lot of possibilities. The only shame is the lack of optimisation for Sense 3 : it's pretty laggy, and doesn't run as smooth as it could.
But if you try to install a custom senseless rom, you'll find it's amazingly fast.
I had the G2X, ended up with a sensation. I love the device, and agree with most of what people have said before me. Here are my biggest gripes though:
-Touch screen can be quite finicky and laggy. This is off and on and I really hope it's software related.
-Gaming and other very intensive activities can eat up to 1% battery life a minute, which is quite sucky, even for heavy use. Light-moderate usr results in pretty solid battery, life, however, lasting at least a day. Basically don't use it for multimedia or navigating unless it's plugged in (which kinda ruins the point IMO)
-The WiFi is honestly quite terrible. The signal is below average, it often drops randomly unless you have full bars, cases cut a bit of the signal, and if you put a hand on the back top of the device, as you would normally in landscape mode, it kills up to 30db (sometimes more) of signal, often killing it entirely if you don't have a very strong signal.
-There are a couple minor annoyances regarding keyboards, text input, and such. Not a huge deal but still faulty.
Still, it's a great device, and I think it will get quite amazing after custom roms if you can stand the sub-par WiFi. And who knows, maybe HTC can release some sort of new back cover that helps WiFi. (We can dream haha)
Personally i think the sensation is a way to quickly sell phones before the xmas period when HTC release yet another new phone. The Sensations spec is nothing special, its so similar to the Desire HD its unreal with the additional cpu, camera and screen. The weight of the sensation is extremely heavy compared to say the galaxy s2. if you dont already have a DHD i would say its a nice phone to have but for the sake of a few months would you not wait for the xmas models?
Or failing that drift over to the dark side and buy a samsung which is similar price yet better spec
From someone coming from a Blackberry, I love my new Sensation. It's got a great screen, and like a previous poster said, extremely snappy after loading up a custom launcher. I found that Launcher Pro has given me the best results. I would buy from Costco and try out the phone for 30 days or so. They don't have a restocking fee.
In my opinion, the Sensation is a great phone! Coming from a problematic G2x, the sensation is a better phone overall. Not trying to bash the G2x, but the couple phones that I had were just bad lol. The only bad thing I could say about the sensation is the WiFi issue....which disconnects 1-3times per day, which isn't a deal breaker for me to get a new phone.
Again, not trying to bash or flame phones, just stating my personal thoughts and experiences. So yeah, is highly recommend the sensation

I disagree. I upgraded to this from the DHD because this phone ticked the boxes where i felt the DHD was lacking. Higher res screen, front facing camera and a better size in the hand.

I am pleased with this phone and fully .. i have S-OFF,and leeDROID rom,for now its working oke,its stable and fast.. and i like this screen I can not scratch it
i love my sensation i have a g2x too but the bigger screen is better but the g2x screen is brighter the wifi signal is stronger on the sensation and more clear when on wifi calling. games run smoother on g2x and speaker phone is better but the sensation looks like a nexus one and feels like it to so sensation all the way. i hate that silver strip on the back of the g2x it gets scratch eze thats my 2cents of both phones
I'm loving my Sensation, it's a lot faster than my HTC Desire was and can do a whole lot more. And now that we have S-OFF it's even better running a custom ROM and can only get better in time.
Lets face it. The sensation is a poor design. Put wifi on and put your hand over the top and watch the bars drop. What high end phone does that ****. When your writing sideways ons text with wifi on the wifi drops signal. Its horrid. Want to piss on this phone in front of htc. Garbage seriously thinking about getting rid of it!!!!!! Sorry just pissed at my phone today. Lol

Let's not be stereotypical and assume that ALL sensations have horrid WiFi connections. I understand your dissatisfaction cuz I had WiFi issues too on my first sensation but no issues on my second one, luckily.
Hope your phone works better for you homie
