[Q] [repost] Android on Windows mobile. Any help? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

A couple of queries. I read in the forums that I could install Android on Windows Mobile.
My make is similar to HKC G1000 / TechFaith Cynthia 850 - a Dual Sim Windows Mobile.
I read about the dual boot software Gen.Y DualBOOT - here thread ID - 623792
But I am not able to understand how to get an Android build for my mobile and how to install it on my Windows Mobile.
Any direction in this regard would be highly appreciated.
Secondly if any one is familiar with a good ROM build for Windows Mobile 6 or Windows Mobile 6.5 for the said model.
I researched further into Android on Windows Mobile and see that there is Wing Linux for OMAP 850 (the same chipset that runs this mobile)
Are there any Android builds readily available for this mobile?
I tried installing Wing Linux via Micro SD Card, and half way through the screen hangs up and nothing happens
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Dual boot Windows Mobile and Android on Kaiser/TyTN II?

Is it possible to dual boot Windows Mobile and Android if I installed two ROM's on my Kaiser/TyTN II? Like we do with OS on PC's ?
In other words you want a GRUB or something like that to where you can choose to boot WM or Android correct? And no you can't flash two ROMs
No, you have to boot WM, then boot Android from that.
Please use one of the two Kaiser android discussion threads in future.

Android installation in a mobile

s it possible to install Android in a normal mobile phone?
I have Sony Ericsson Naite which has only key pad interface (No touch). I would like to install Android in my phone for experimenting with it. It will be great if its possible to dual boot Android with Symbian .
Do we need any other special hardware to install operating system in a mobile phone? Will Android work on a key-pad mobile?
Any pointer/suggestion is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I hate to say it, but there's no way of getting Android onto the SE Naite, as it's not a smart phone, as well as the fact that there is no way of customising the ROM, not to mention there is no non-touchscreen Android, unless you count the alpha builds.
As far as I know, the only SE phone that can do a dual boot is the Xperia X1, which can dual boot Android and Windows Mobile.
Sorry mate, you're out of luck there.

[Q] Question regarding OS.

Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum. I have an HTC p3400i. An old model. But I dont know about its OS and details. It shows windows mobile 95 when I connect it with my PC. And when I start the mobile display shows ONBL 1.17.0000, SPL 1.17.0000, GSM 2.79.0000 and OS 1.17.0.0. I want to know what are these specifications? what is the OS. and other details of it. And whether the OS can be upgraded and how? And what other upgradations can be done? When I start windows update it shows failure. Thanks in advance.

According to HTC's spec page for it, you're running windows mobile 5.0

Win CE 7 on Windows Phone devices

Is it possible to port Windows Embedded 7
(CE7) on Windows phone 7 and even Windows
mobile 6 devices?
If Windows phone 7 core is based on ce7 so
the BSPs should be usable for CE 7.
Sorry if my question seems stupid.
It won't work as the Bootloader is not open. As soon as it is completely cracked we should be able to install CE7, but then again: the Drivers would be missing. Also Phone 7 is not based off CE7, CE7 was released after Phone 7, which is still based on CE6.x
Well, HTC bootloaders are open (at least up to a specific version) and you could probably build a ROM that would work. I'm not aware of any current efforts to do so, though.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
but only the ones covered by HSPL / RSPL and most devices that were updated to mango via zune are on 4.x or 5.x which are closed again - correct me if I am right

You said that it isn't possible to use of older version of CE drivers on newer ones?
It isn't possible to port CE7 on windows mobile 6.x devices?
If no, how WP7 ported on HD2?
ask cotulla , he did run ce7 on hd2 , there are even pic's videos from.
the problem is that you would need to build your own ce7 build for the phone and that isn't that easy to do.

hd2 was a test phone for wp7 so it isn't ported to that phone it was simply build by MS/htc to run wp7 (build 6***)
after that dft dumped that early build and rebuild it with the latest os build's
that is way the camera and touchscreen arn't that good on hd2 (htc just didn't make good drivers for it )
all drivers for hd2 are still old build drivers from that test build and they didn't got updated by MS/HTC.
Moved to WP7 Q&A
No Questions in the development section please.
Take it easy
