applications menu - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hello,
They know how to sort the applications menu?
Separate by games, applications, etc.

As far as I know you can't do that. I am not sure if there is a launcher or a rom that will allow that though.

Too bad.
The LG 2X if you let it
thanks

I believe that you need a different launcher. The built-in ADW Launcher (CM7) allows you to separate your apps into catalogs.

GO launcher allows you to use folders and uninstall applications straight from the app drawer.

[Q] GR-11 App Sorting

Has anyone found a way to sort apps in GR-11?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056542
I didn't see anything addressing app sorting in the link that you posted?
Search for Touchwiz AppSorter in the market. If it says database error after you run it, just clear the TouchWiz data (gonna reset your launcher though) Drove me nuts for about 20 minutes till I figured it out lol!

I got the database error with that app. I cleared the data, it didn't fully sort the apps. It left the original first page of apps, then sorted the subsequent pages.
Is there a way to not only sort ALL apps, but to make it re-sort when you install a new app without losing you 7 screens?
Also, has anyone figured out how to choose your home screen? I only want 3 screens, but I want screen 2 to be "home" not 3.

Use a different launcher until it's fixed? GR is still in beta. And until it's out of beta expect there to be bugs.

He linked you to that thread because that's where your question should've been asked instead of making a new thread.
Go to Settings> Applications> Manage Applications>All>TwLauncher>Force Stop then Clear Data...but it will reset your home screen...you'll have to customize it again...

I just swapped over to Launcher Pro.....everything is sorted nicely now!
I went with ADW free. Works great so far. Loving GR-11.

Go Launcher EX sorts it well.
Launcher pro for the win..

The TouchWiz app sorter from the market has recently been updated to support TouchWiz 4.0. Therefore you can now use it on your GR-12 ROM without getting that database error .

Killing an app

Ok, this is my first day with this marvelous device. I installed Tweet caster, as it was my go to twitter app on my EVO. After I installed Tweet Comb and became fascinated by it, tweet caster on the xoom just doesn't carry too far.
Right now, both are giving me notifications and it's annoying, but I don't want to uninstall caster, either. Other than a reboot, what will fix this issue? Can't you simply exit an app? Do I need an app killer? I've been told app killers are unnecessary with Android, but on my EVO I use the app killer all the time.

I don't use either app, but check the settings. You should be able to turn off notifications. In settings, apps, manage apps though you can stop an app. DO NOT USE A TASK MANAGER.
I agree that task managers that automatically kill apps are no longer required by android. However, in order to close apps easily I use an app called Active Apps, since a lot of apps tend to linger in the background. Put the widget on your desktop and it will give you a running tally of how many apps are running and allow you to opt to quit one or all of them.

I don't know if this will be easier for you, but if you have to kill an app you can also find the app in the drawer and drag it onto the "i" , which will take you to the same spot as finding the app in "settings/applications/manage applications/" then finding the app.

App that hides apps?

First off I want to say that feature that shows similar threads when you start a thread is awesome.
With that said, I didn't find one on that...which is amazing as I am sure there are threads on just about everything here.....probably more than one.
Is there an app that can hide apps in any launcher? I know in several if not most launchers you have the ability but not all launchers....for instance stock....so....is there an app that can hide apps in any launcher?
Hide it pro in the market

Tablet UI missing a major feature

I often need to check dates or do quick calculations while working on my tablet. In Samsung's Touchwiz, there is a little dock that contains apps like task manager, calculator, calendar, etc.
Is this something I can activate or downloa for my tf101?

Can't you use widgets? Or do you want something that's always sitting in the notification area?
Thinking more of a button on the system bar. Like in touchwiz.

there is something on megatron rom called quick apps. i guess it is only on megatron.

[Q] Folder Apps

I hate all the App shortcuts being in a big bunch in the Apps Menu. Is there any good apps that I can use to allow me to make folders I can sort them into ?
I would like to root my Xoom and put a newer version on but I don't get all the tech speak and jarganisum now.
Thanks
Most launchers support folders, but folders are only on the home pages. I don't know of any launchers that allow you to sort your apps into folders.

Go Launcher did, but it didn't look as good on the XOOM so it went. . Was looking for a simple app.
Sent from my MZ604 using xda premium
It wouldn't be a simple app. It would have to be a launcher that supported it.
Well this one doesn't need a launcher. I tried it didn't like it. The layout was'nt what I wanted. Also it tried to be to much.
But deff no launcher needed.
''Application Folder'

For serious, I think you should the Nova Launcher, you can create "tabs" with it and organize the way you want the apps, these tabs are the "apps" and "widgets" by default, but you still can create a tab called "games" for example! Good luck.

I was going to suggest the MIUI launcher but then remembered we never got one that supports the Xoom.
