I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times but I can't find anything on it.
Is there any possible way to receive a notification without pausing the music?
I switched from iPhone when this phone released and my iPhone would lower the music for a notification rather pause it.
I was wondering if there was any way to do this with the infuse?
Its pretty annoying having it pause every time I receive a text.
Someone helpppp <3

This might sound so stupid but is there a way to make it not pause your music for a notification? The Sidekick LX would play it over the music which loved. Thanks!

I know if you put it on vibrate it won't stop playing the music, but if you want the sound I don't know.
I am playing mp3s from SD card through the google music app (not streaming disabled) and the music will stop after each song. As soon as I hit the power button the next song will begin.
It really bothers the hell out of me. Any ideas? It is bone stock rom.

Have you updated the app? it went away after the app update
Nope. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same effect.
I install power amp and it seems to be working.
Do you have juice defender or another batter saving app?
I have the same problem, but for me ots just sometimes. But it does bug me, having to hit next after the each songs.

I gave up on the google music widget. I just use power amp. It works 100%.
I am not using any battery saving programs. Bone stock.
I have the same problem with Amazon MP3. The stock player works fine and just downloaded Poweramp to try that one.

I was having the same problem too then realized that shuffle was turned on by default and causes that for some reason. As soon as I turned shuffle off it played all tracks like it's supposed to.

Wow that sucks but good to know. I always use shuffle. I will have to try it without shuffle.
I've been diggin on Poweramp anyway and that works great on shuffle.

Yeah it sucks. I don't use shuffle. I was really annoyed with it not playing the next track especially since I was listening to it in the car. When I looked through everything on the app I realized that shuffle was on even though I didn't select it, turned it off and everything went back to normal.

Hey I was wondering if there any roms that can play the notification tone and the music at the same time when the headphones are connected like the iPhone. I noticed that when you are listening to music and you get a message the music stops to play the notification tone and then the music starts back up. Is there any way to make it play both at the same time? For example when you get a notification and are listening to music, the music can dim a little and the notification tone can play and then the music can get to its normal volume again?

How do I stop the music from pausing when a notification comes in?
I don't want to mute notifications. With my HTC Evo, it would reduce the volume on the music, but keep playing it.
Is there a system setting for this?

When you listen to music just put your phone on vibrate, you still feel the notification but it doesn't mute the music. I use Spotify so I know this works.

Thanks for the tip. This will work when I'm using it at work. But at home, I have my surround sound system connected to the phone via bluetooth. So I have Spotify playing on the surround speakers and it's annoying for it to interrupt the music - but I still need to hear the notification when I'm in another room.
Any ideas?
I have never used spotify, but this may work. If you have tasker, you can probably make a profile for when you connect to your bluetooth, and make a task which will put your phone on vibrate, but allow you to create a custom notification sound play using a different audio stream (like alarm or media) Some of choices for audio stream should allow you to hear the notification without it pausing spotify.

Thanks. Wish I could try it out before buying. There's no other way?
Late to the party here. Wtf is with the last post date? 1970? Anyways.. *edit, now the date displays correctly. ****in' tapatalk!
Have you tried an app called "sound about" in the play store? Check it out and see if it does what you need.
Ok... So... I use poweramp and viper audio in case it makes a difference.
When listening to music and receiving a text my phone used to quickly mute for a split second.
Now my phone has started playing the message tone over the music
Any ideas why it's randomly changed what it does?

Have you made any changes to your phone leading up to the change?
Nope, unless an app updated making the difference?

Completely stock GPM user here. My volume gets temporarily lowered while the notification sound plays.
Maybe its a power amp feature that was patched in?

Maybe? Cus I've always used poweramp. So maybe an update changed it

I haven't used PowerAmp in a while, but I believe there is a toggle for what to do when a notification plays (pause, lower volume, or do nothing).
