After I flashed a custom ROM the Browse didn't sync the bookmarks.
Whith stock was fine working.
anybody can help
You should always manually backup your book marks anyway, even on my house pc i have it backed up sevral times on diffrent drives!
I hope you used a back program for the other rom!
The problem is not that i lost my bookmarks because i use the coustom rom.
i want to sync the bookmarks from crome over the cloud direct to the browser.
i'm having the same problem running prime 1.5, here's what i see in logcat:
D/SyncManager( 169): failed sync operation ***@gmail.com (com.google), com.android.browser, LOCAL, earliestRunTime 6351479, SyncResult: stats [ numIoExceptions: 1 numEntries: 1809]
today the tf sync some bookmarks, 5 of 100 i hope in the next days ore houres i get more. Did someone know if the issue is from google server ore from tf self.
Same issue without custom ROM.
Hello all,
I have a B60K that I can't seem to get the stock browser to sync bookmarks with. This was on the 3.1 that came with the TF along with the one from earlier today (Kernel 2.6.36.3-00011-g3eb19ec).
It worked fine on my old B50K (also stock, just with the previous 3.1 update).
I have tried Resetting the browser to default a few times along with deleting the account and setting it up so that I am only syncing the browser on the TF and only syncing bookmarks in Chrome.
An odd thing is that now the B50K TF will no longer sync. I had reset it to factory but not returned it yet. If I boot it up and just setup what is needed to sync the browser it doesn't work.
Below are a couple of messages I that helped me find this post.
Any assistance with the sync would be great. That being said, I would also be happy if anyone could point me in the right direction for just importing the bookmarks as a temp work around.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

I am stock 3.1 with latest OTA. The bookmark sync stopped working about a week ago, not long after installing Google+
I get about 50 bookmarks, starting fom the last ones, then sync fails.
Would love to know if anyone has fixed this.

I am getting the exact same thing on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 running rooted-but-otherwise-stock 3.1. I have tried deleting the account but that didn't help. Local problem (client) or problem on Google's side? Any known fix yet?
I am having this problem too today. US TF with latest OTA, unrooted. Looks like a server problem.
Workaround is to export your chrome bookmark into Dropbox.

Thank you and where should I put the bookmarks.
I am also not sure what to do once I get a bookmark folder onto the TF. While Dropbox will make it easier to keep them synced, it doesn't actually help those of us that are looking for a method of importing them into the stock browser.
Is the idea that it is just an html file that we call up with one long list of bookmarks?
In the interim, you could try chromemarks, it will at least extract all your synced bookmarks into the app, and you can launch from there. The dev noted that Google made changes to their db structure which required a fix on July 12. That's right around when my sync started to fail.
I haven't found a way to import into the stock browser. Looking forward to seeing this fixed.

Thanks mike5065. I tried chromemarks. Now I do have my Chrome bookmarks on the TF. That said, I need the full chromemarks version to integrate them into the stock browser.
Does anyone have any ideas for a free method to import bookmarks into the stock browser?

Don't buy the full version of chromemarks it can't integrate bookmarks to the tf browser.

Thanks for saving me (and it sounds like some others) some money. Does anyone have any other ideas?
hello all, and just wanted to share a bit of info I saw on the web--can't remember where. It seems Google changed the way it handles chrome bookmarks and sync sometime about a week ago, and that's why we can no longer sync. Hopefully an update will come that fixes it.
Wow, I just figured out some interesting things that might help clarify troubleshooting and apps for this issue for others as well.
There is a distinct difference between Chrome Bookmarks and Google Bookmarks. Further, they are not compatible. In fact if you want to import Chrome Bookmarks into Google Bookmarks you have to either do it via Firefox or a Delicious Bookmarks account. At any rate, Google Bookmarks seem to work fine syncing with HC right now. It is just the Chrome Bookmarks that are having an issue.
Here is a Google forum entry where they seem to be tracking a current issue with Chrome Bookmarks not syncing:
http://www.google.com/support/forum...ae&hl=en&fid=27043147d44d99ae0004a85d5169dc33
It may be a good idea if we start posting to that forum in order to (maybe) speed up any fix. It may add more urgency to the issue if Google realizes that the scope of the impact is greater then they thought.
Hope this is helpful to some.
Oh, on a quick side note, does anyone know if there is a name for the Honeycomb stock browser? Googling "Honeycomb stock browser" for this issue doesn't seem to help narrow down the search. It would be nice if I knew the name.
Thanks.
A bit update: if you go to settings->accounts & sync->manage accounts, click the up-right corner sync icon, you might notice the same thing as mine: all other sync are updated with the current time except the "sync browser".
The strange thing on mine is that part of the bookmarks are synced, but not all.
looks like it might be fixed, my bookmarks started magically syncing again today

No such luck for me. I did get two empty folders to show up, but nothing else. Are you sure you got all of your bookmarks? Can you check HC account settings to see if the browser has really finished syncing?
Thanks.

I want all the folders supported in Dolphin, not just 500 bookmarks that aren't in folders.
I am also trying to sync my chrome contacts.
I stumbled upon this and am also having trouble finding a way to do that easily. Or at all as a matter of fact.
you may want to look at "google bookmarks assister2" its a free app that will sync you google bookmarks. Now it doesn't sync them with a browser app it will show the bookmarks in that application and you can launch them from there and it does give folders so it isn't to bad. I had some trouble getting it to sync correctly but after I did it worked pretty nice. Hope this helped good luck.
anyone found anything to do this? if i had all my bookmarks i could seriously use my tablet as a laptop/desktop replacement.
google bookmarks != chrome bookmarks (which are still synced to the cloud... there must be a way of syncing)
It would be really nice to sync the bookmarks from Chrome with the Android browser. Will look in the market..

Have you tried Xmarks? It's not free (you have to pay a $1/m subscription fee to get the Android app to let you login. see: http://buy.xmarks.com/premium.php), but it will automatically sync your bookmarks to Android, as well as between computers and browsers, and it stores them all online.

thats isnt the same thing as what we are talking about. We are talking about syncing 50+ bookmarks at times. with chrome to phone you would have to send each one then bookmark each one. That could take a while

I can vouch for this. It synced every app that was in the specified folder rather fast. I definitely needed this.
ChromeMarks (Lite/free - if you're satisfied with 1 way sync => PC to phone)
thank you for the help
I just tried PhoneMarks. I setup it up to sync with the default android browser, then went into dolphin HD\bookmarks to SD to sync from android browser to google bookmarks, then synced google bookmarks to dolphin. long story short, my chrome bookmarks are finally on my phone. thanks for the tip.
I'd love to try chromemarks, but I fear giving that many permissions to an app, that should be a stock feature. :/
I'm sure in time I'll just do it.
questions:
does it sync folders as well?
and does it just show up in the browser bookmarks, or do you have to click the app icon or whatever?
Phonemarks moves the bookmarks to recently visited on Samsung phones. Melt.
If you do however, go into most visited and untap the yellow favs star then click it again it'll add it to favourites.
Can't believe google didn't had that damn feature on last 2.x updates..! PhoneMarks, what would be the danger to use it exactly..?
Hi, today I install 3.2 Rom and tiamat 2.0.0 kernel and I have problems with sync of browser bookmarks... I can´t do it to work.
I sync with PC and Macbook pro without problems with chrome but I can´t sync my Xoom...
I read another forums and there is a lot of people with the same problem.
Can someone help us?.
Tnx
Chrome bookmark sync doesn't work with Android devices. Your best bet is to use "Chrome to Phone" and push the bookmarks that you want to your Xoom.
i know its broke for me in 3.2... 3.1 and 3.01 worked fine.

Can´t download Chrome to phone from market because they say is not compatible with Xoom...
Having the same problem here. Worked fine before.
add me to the list, 3.2 stock. Never used chrome on pc only on xoom. But I have the same sync issue.
Same problem with bookmark sync. Rooted 3.2.
No customer rom or kernel.
Same Sh**
Same thing here ...
I've tried to post everywhere, but nobody seems to know anything about this.
I've gone back to 3.1 with full wipe, but the sync problem stays
seems to me something gone really wrong on the Google side of the equation ..
same also here, fine on 3.1, not working for gmail account (main acccount) on 3.2 with tiamat 2.0
Thought is sunk with apps account as a test, but now nothing is syncing.
Yep will sync with a google apps account quickly, but not my main google account and one I use for appstore etc.
Also when "sycing" with my main gmail/google account, it won't save bookmarks either - it says saved to bookmarks but bookmarks within the browser is empty "there are no bookmarks"
Already deleted from google dasboard and then resynced from the pc, but i still only get about 100 of the 338 bookmarks i have to sunc to android. I've now waited for two days for them to fully sync. Any tips?

Can't help, but I'd like to know how you are syncing any bookmarks from Chrome on a PC to your EeePad, I have sync configured on my PC using the same Google account as on my EeePad, but I don't see any way to pull the bookmarks down.
What's the config ?
Does anybody else expediences the problem sync problem? Mines fixed automatically on 2011 Aug 18 and on 2011 Sep 18 it stopped working again. Google dashboard shows chrome info. Logcat says something like this:
Code:
I/BookmarksSync( 265): Sync failed due to soft error: While parsing a protocol message, the input ended unexpectedly in the middle of a field. This could mean either than the input has been truncated or that an embedded message misreported its own length.
D/SyncManager( 137): failed sync operation [email protected] (com.google), com.android.browser, SERVER, earliestRunTime 4439211, SyncResult: stats [ numIoExceptions: 1]
BTW there is an open issue on this at code.google
does anyone else still suffer this problem? My bookmarks haven't synced since 30th August. Anyone have a way to force a sync?

Browser -> Settings -> General -> Syn -> Sync with Google Chrome.
It will ask what you want it to do with any existing bookmarks on the tablet. I have used it since September and it works GREAT. I did have an issue at one point but was easily able to resolve it sufficiently.
So nice being able to sync bookmarks
I have been using chromemarks..
Out of all the ways at this stage it has been the most reliable for me..
I have over 3500 bookmarks and it has been keeping them synced nicely..
Was using firefox for a while but seems to have lost the ball a little..
The only complaint, I got with chromemarks is that to get to a bookmark deep in there you have to keep going
back to the top of the directory tree then work your way down into the sub-directries
The joys of research..

My bookmarks have never completely synced on the transformer. It seems to only have problems with the bookmarks that I have in folders and subfolders, all others seem ok. This has been like this since day one and even when it says it has synced them, some in my folders are still not there.
I'm pretty sure Asus knows about some of these sync problems because there has been updates for bookmarks in the last two updates, but nothing I have tried or Asus has done has fixed this. It would be nice to have it work correctly someday Cheers.
I cant sync any of my bookmarks. I get the following.
"sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be back shortly."
This came after i updated the tf to 3.2.1. It was working fine in 3.1 and 3.2.

I still have the problem, even after flashing a custom ROM!
Hi there, the other day i decided to (after a fair bit of reading) root my Wildfire that i have had for the last year with no problems. I have decided to go with the DK_Custom_Froyo v 4.6.2.
After doing so i set about putting some programs back on and getting rid of some of the standard bloatware, such as you tube, adobe reader, pico, rss reader etc.
I have found that my calendar cannot/will not sync with my googlemail account. I have data linked with navigation and google maps, where my starred places can be synced.
I am trying to look into the source of the problem but seen as its taken me over a year to have the bottle to root my phone im not that technically gifted when it comes to phones. (i'll quite happily strip down a car and rebuild it) A couple of the symptoms are:
1. When i add a event there is no calendar to add to then when i click save, it opens a box stating that its 'loading calendars' but would do that all day if i left it.
2. When i goto settings>accounts and sync>google, and try to manually sync the sync com.andriod.calendar, i get a message stating that 'sync is currently experiencing. It will be back shortly'
Everything else syncs such as the weather and facebook.
I like the calendar as i've got used to using it and the layout but obviously i'd rather have a working calendar where i can sync all my appointments and birthdays.
Is the problem with the custom rom?
Any Help or advise on this problem is greatly appreciated.
anyone? Still having problems
Good morning to all,
I'm writing here to solve am annoying problem I'm currently facing.
I have a Huawei G510 with AOSP MOD ROM, android 4.1.1.
I prefer using the stock browser as chrome is somehow slow on this device.
Everything went fine till two weeks ago
I started noting that some bookmarks I created on chrome with my notebook were not synced.
This is what I did:
- reset chrome sync from google dashboard and log in back to chrome on notebook, than sync bookmarks and everything else encrypting only password
- delete data from stock browser
- open stock browser, log again with my google account
- check if browser sync is active
- remove and readd google account
- sync everything again
The situation now is that in the stock browser I have only local bookmarks and not even one single bookmarks from my account.
I also tried chrome and it syncs everything so it's fine.
Does anyone have any clue?
Thanks a lot!
Any help?
The same thing happened to my Kindle Fire HD with CM ROM.
Why don't u try any other browser. Stock browser is not always the best option.
Thanks for tour reply!
Currently I have Chrome and it syncs bookmarks as wanted, but it's way too slow on my huawei.
I have also CM browser: it's fast and light but it syncs only importing from chrome!
So I can't find a solution...
I believe nobody has a solution to this...
