anyone wanna sell their 3600mah mugen? - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

anyone wanna sell it to me? lol really dont wanna pay 90 bucks for it but need juice

just out of curiousity, you don't mind that it's been used and that the capacity is probably diminished by the time someone would sell their battery to you?
I think another alternative is to scout along amazon or ebay or some decent electronic sites for sales or cheaper prices.

Or shell out just 50$ for the 1800mA? Adds about a 30% bump to capacity.

i dint know these battery diminish capacity

All batteries lose its capacity over time. that's why there are these "eneloop" batteries that claim that they hold their capacity longer and also claim that their max capacity decreases less than standard rechargeables over the same period of time.
essentially, it's just how all things degrade over time, so a 3600mah battery will go down to 3000mah in a year and keep on going down as it gets older

Official extended batterys?

I've seen a bunch of battery on eBay. But I'm worried since their mostly from China. Does anyone have experience with one of these or know of an official desire or inspire battery?

I haven't seen one yet. Those cheap batteries often are no where near the capacity they claim so steer clear for now
I bought one from eBay for $4.89. It claims to be 1600 mah. So far it hasn't given me a problem but the battery life seems to be about the same than the official one.

why pay so much for battery? i got charger at home, car, work. less then $15.
There are quite a few other 1600mAh Desire HD batteries on eBay, mostly in Hong Kong, one in Canada, for significantly less than the $103 price. That's just an insane amount of money to pay for a battery. Personally I'm happy to find one that performs as well as the stock battery and pair it with a plug-in charger so I can swap mid-day if needed. It would be killer to find a battery charger for the car too.

Well the reason people buy extended batteries are because they're away from some type of charger, or don't want to hassle with a charger all day. I am one who wants to get the maximum possible out of a device, without compromising on reprogramming things to conserve battery. I'd LOVE to see a 1600 mah battery that got good reviews, but thus far everyone says since they're made with cheap chinese cells, it's really a 1200 mah battery labeled 1600.
I do plug the phone in while in the car, but it would be nice to have a spare battery charging while on the go as well, sort of a charge it and forget it type of thing in case it's needed while out.

This auction is back down to $4.89. A lot of the time, when a retailer is out of stock of something, they'll jack up the price of the auction, rather than having to pull/repost the auction. This way they don't have to pay the fee to have it removed/readded, but no one in their *right* mind would buy one. I've seen this a lot with Inspire accessories...no one can keep anything in stock.
I ordered this one from Amazon and it is from HTC.

And if it is garbage I can use Amazon's A to Z return policy, so I am covered. I would rather try Amazon before I would use E-bay, with Amazon there is always a way to get your money back with e-bay there is not.

Extended Battery Help

We need to find out if anyone has a battery that is bigger than 1500 mah. It looks like the Optimus 2x uses the same battery so I would hope someone has a 1650 or 1800 mah out there. Let me know if a source is found. It would be nice to have an external wall charger as well.

Or maybe a dock with spare battery charger on the back to at least hold a stock battery to charge
Check on Ebay every few days. I haven't seen one yet but they make it for most phones. The batteries are thicker than the standard ones and it also comes with a different rear cover to accept the thicker battery. It is usually from China and around $15 or so.

Sometimes there are extended batteries made that are the same exact size as the stock one but have a larger capacity. For example, I bought a Seidio extended 1750mAh battery for my Droid X which was the same size as the original battery but had about 250 more mAh to it...it gave me a couple more hours on one charge. Hopefully something similar is made for the G2X!
Maybe a bunch of us should just write to seidio and ask them to start on developing one for us...

That's the nice thing about the Seidio ones. They are a legit company, and they can usually squeeze an extra 150-400 mAh out of the standard size battery. They aren't too terribly expensive, either. I am thinking for now, though, I may have to give one of those ebay ones with the separate battery charger a try....I have had good luck with ebay laptopt batteries, so....it might be worth the $20 for it.
Also, I will start spamming Seidio's twitter. Lol.

Actually, they just re-label their inferior batteries with bigger mAh numbers and make a big profit for their efforts.
No company has ever made a legitimate higher capacity OEM size battery ever.

Agreed. Seidio does make some legit extended batteries, like the 2500 and 3500 mAh one's they put out for the EVO and Droid X, etc... but the ones that are the same size as the stock battery don't hold any extra juice, they take advantage of the loop hole in the rules concerning how companies can label batteries.
Batteries have a range of mAh that they hold. Say the battery in our device has a range of 1300 to 1700 mAh, most companies will use the average and label the battery at 1500 mAh. Seidio on the other hand will label theirs on the high end of the range at 1700 mAh, which is perfectly within their right to do, but is rather deceiving to the consumer.

There is no range. All the OEM batteries I've tested were within 3% of their tagged rating.
Regarding Seidio, there is no explanation as to why their "same size & higher capacity" batteries consistently deliver less power than an OEM battery.
But don't let me stop anyone from buying their snake oil.
Regarding Mugen, that first link shows a disassembled 3000mAh battery that contained 2 1200mAh cells. I call it fraud, plain and simple. They all do it, I've proved it.
i just ended up getting this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000N63AC6 . i have a body glove case and they're a pain to snap off everytime i want to replace my battery while at work. for me, this is much easier.

Just installed that app on my Vibrant and it also says 1200 mah. Don't believe it.
The battery capacity (mah) can only be measured by a complete charge/discharge cycle under calibrated and measured conditions. An app snapshot like this can't accurately report total battery capacity. The app may be able to do such a measurement, haven't played with it enough yet, but there's no way for it to do it immediately.
is there any tool (i mean not an app) to check the battery capacity? the accurate one?

what rom are you on when you have 5 days duration ?
It's great if you want your battery to last days without charge but terrible if you want a nice sleak phone due to the fact that the 3200amh batteries add extra thickness to the phone which really makes it look ugly in my opinion. Mugen power batteries are really good though they are expensive. I'd be weary about buying from eBay because although they may be cheaper, a lot of the times they're not the capacity stated and have bad quality lithium ions that simply don't hold a charge!
Can I buy it in Ukraine? Somebody know?
I have a 3000mAh battery, but the only way I can get a full charge is with an external charger.
Then I can get between 3-4days from 1 charge.

There are certainly no end of "hi-capacity" batteries being sold on e-bay, but they are all fake. At best they have a similar capacity to the stock battery. If they are selling for $1-3, well that's OK I guess. But then watch out for the charging circuitry, because they will be cutting corners.
I would only buy a HTC branded replacement battery, or the Mugen - for the guarantee of quality, since I expect a battery to perform for 1 year with constant use.
Search the accessories thread for "battery" and "Mugen", you'll see what I mean
I bought an extra battery at dealextreme, a chinese website with free shipping to almost the whole world.
According to my own experience i haven't seen people mentioning a great difference between a stock and, let's say a 1500 mAh battery. Or am i wrong? i mean, with my current battery (more than an year old now) i'm getting 3 days of standby time with little use and with moderate use i get around 1-2 days (mostly 1 day) with moderate to heavy use when using internet...which is, i mean pretty much like any other smartphone out in the market.

That certainly doesn't coincide with my experience. I manage connections via Juice Defender (theoretically it provides me with 1.96x battery life...), with push email - but browsing, the odd game and a few phone calls means I just about get to night time to re-charge. As soon as the screen is on, the power drain is significant (tweaked auto-brightness).
My phone is just over a year old - the original battery was beginning to lose power noticeably, so I got a Mugen battery (the only brand of replacement batteries you should trust), which provides 1500mAh. I can definitely see a big difference vs the old, tired, OEM battery.
Mugen Battery has pretty good reviews and they are a reputed company too.

There is a whole topic explaining many options about this matter.
Check the topic about sensation battery. Or look at my guide at my signature.
It's in Greek, but you will have the concept from the photos.
The phone is working great all these months and also Wi-Fi is back to normal with other antenna.
Powered by my IceCold 8.6.1 DHD
In terms of affordability, there are at least 2 other options, instead of getting an additional battery/making a Sensation one fit in the HD:
1) an external power pack. Get a good one like NewTrent off Amazon, 5000mAh should cost you in the region of €25. Advantage - for the size of the phone, you can carry over 3x the original battery charge (and only connect it when needed, so it's not bulky 100% of the time). They even do 11000mAh packs, but they get proportionally bigger and that is about 8x the stock battery.
2) get a powerskin, currently on offer for about $20 I think on powerskin.com. Doubles capacity, can be taken off, but bulky when being used. On the plus side, it does double as a case.
I've got a 5000mAh external power pack, does the job fine, and I only take it with me/slip in into a bag if I'm going out all day on my bike (recording tracks etc) or into the countryside.
As an additional benefit, you don't need to power down when you connect either of these options, so it's more convenient than swapping a battery.
Chinese batteries are not good. The best ones are, the ones that are expensive. And you'll never have for HTC Desire HD batteries with real 1600, 1800 2450 mamp.
Try Mugen batteries, and test one from them. Others says that are ok.
