been listening to a lot of music the past few days driving around with my tablet as my music source, (8 hours of playing and it lost 16%, and that was just the tablet!)
but every once in a while, it sounds like something changes, almost like it drop to a lower kbps rate. this is on power amp, but ive also heard it on pandora. anyone else notice this??

Volume was very low through my earphones (I've tried multiple), so I looked around the forum for similar threads. There's a LOT of threads with low volume issues. I found Voodoo Control, installed it, and configured it to output maximum levels. Google Music is at an acceptable level now where I won't put it to maximum volume, but Moboplayer sounds like I have it at ~50% when I actually have everything maxed out. It's pretty much useless to watch a movie where there is any other noise even with my in-ear phones that isolate sound.
I'm running the original Prime 1.5, not the revised kernel (no SoD issues here). So I'm getting a bit desperate here because of all the other little issues I've had to deal with this tablet... What can I do to resolve this?
I can't be the only one with this issue. Google Music's volume is more than sufficiently loud after installing Voodoo Control and maxing out everything. I originally thought my problem was limited to Moboplayer, but it's anything else besides Google Music. I've viewed my videos through Mobo, Rock, and the built-in MyNet app. I have normalized the audio stream to 100% for my videos, but even when set to "max" volume, it is nowhere near loud enough if there's any other noise in the environment.
I really want to like this tablet (and I do to some extent), but there's all these little issues with the software and some hardware that are really making me -__-
I can't say I have this issue but I can say that the sound quality sucks and even at the highest volume it is too low.
I installed Power AMP which has an equalizer with a Loud Speaker Out Pre setting which is louder than anything I have seen yet. It seems when you set your tab to this any other music player will pick it up and it is definitely louder.
Give it a try.
I have been encountering this weird bug for the past few months across many different ROMs. When I walk to and from school, I'm usually listening to podcasts through my Meelectronics SP51P earbuds. After about 5-15 minutes of walking, I notice my podcast skipping forward. Sometimes, the currently-playing podcast will even change to a completely different podcast. Less frequently, my music player will begin playing music during the freak out.
Sometimes it stops after removing my headphones and blowing into the headphone jack, though the problem will start again about half the time.
I was using Google Listen for a while and just thought the program was crap, so I purchased Pocket Casts though I still had the problem. I have no idea what could be causing this...
This has happened to me a multitude of times while working out. I have headphones plugged in and about 20-25 minutes into my workout, the music I'm listening to (either Google Music or Spotify) will lower all the way to mute on it's own for no reason. I'll try and increase the volume wither by the rocker or on the screen, but it still lowers all the way down on it's own. After a while, I can increase it a bit, but then a minute back into it, it'll slowly start to lower again on it's own. I've turned off the safe mode so that you can't listen too loud...but that doesn't do anything. I thought it might have something to do with the orientation of the screen, so I turned that off as well. At times, it'll be ok and then one random day, it's like a ghost wants to mess around with me.
Just to add a note, this all started after I've rooted my phone and I've gone through 3 different ROMs (Cyanogenmod 11, SlimRom, and Purity Rom). Is this an issue with it being rooted? When I was on stock this wasn't an issue. Anyone else having this problem?
Okay so I have been using Nvidia shield tablet for almost 5 month now.
Ive never used a custom rom so I wanted to try something new
I have used tablet without any problem except poorly slow on aosp rom
then I installed bliss rom from here and boom guess what my device is way faster and better than ever b4
but it gave me some problem which is making weird noises when I play music via power amp, Mx player pro (those two were the only ones I gave try)
It doesnt seem to happen when Im on youtube and when I listen via headphon or bluetooth device.. just only happnes when its on this devices speaker.

video 24 ~ 31 sec its the problem. on the video it just shows its just stopping, video recorder prolly didnt catch its weird sound but it has really weird sound on sounds like the speaker is being torn apart.. ? more like mechanical sound buzzing,,,
No symptoms shows on vlc but I can't use vlc to watch videos cuz of subtitle reasons..
+ vlc haa the same problem after playing video for an hour
I have the same issue, did you find a solution?
I had a similar issue on AICP rom: speakers where doing weird screeching noises in certain situations ( watching video on MXplayer, game load screens ).
It seemed to happen when the CPU reaches the low freq - they may not be enough to handle the workload.
I just used the built in KernelAuditor to set the min CPU freq to be 300.
No more screeching since then.
So I've had this phone for about 2 weeks and absolutely love it. My only issue is a bizarre one. Google Play Music acts strange. When I skip tracks, about 80% of the time it takes 4-5 seconds for the current track to stop and the next to begin. Or when I unplug my headphones, the audio will run on my speakers for about the same amount of time before stopping. That one has actually led to a bit of embarrassment on more than one occasion ( my musical tastes are... unique )
Anyone else experience this?
Old thread I know but I have had the same issue every since always. Is there a way to fix this ? Super annoying especially when your music suddenly start blasting in quiet work place.
