iPad2 question - vs other tablets: USB connection to computer - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I'm trying to clarify something between Android tablets and iPad's. When you connect an Android tablet (Honeycomb 3.x) to a PC via the supplier's USB cable, you should see some device on your PC running Windows XP that would allow mass USB file transfers.
With an iPad, do you have to have iTunes in order to do file transfers between a Windows machine and the iPad? Does the iPad get natively get recognize by Windows as a mass storage device (or some equivalent) that allows you to move large movie files to it?
Dumb question, but I have no idea, and I'm not sure if others are being anti-apple or not...so just trying to get a fair comparison.

I have an ipad2, goclever i101 tab, motorola XOOM on all of this devices usb connection works great, but on goclever tablet is working and is not working.

ipod connected to winmobile as usb host

although it may be possible now but i do not know ,
1. is there any winmobile or pocket pc which can act as usb host or not.
2.will it be possible to interface and read ipod 80 gb through that interface of usb and use S2V player (read only- means i can still manage to upload to ipod via winxp if there is no app like winamp or itunes for winmobile yet).
although there might be a possibility of getting a hard drive on winmobile memory by now but usb host functions to read usb pendrive is most important to me right now ,which is why i ask it as i cannot carry laptop everywhere.
also zune might be able to connect wirelessly to winmobile but i do not have one.someone might have tried it with zune too.
concept here is to 1. be able to view videos on ipod (large storage) ,2. to be able to download songs via gprs or wifi to pocket pc or winmobile and then transfer to ipod as external drive. i know its close to impossible but usb pendrive reading or usb harddrive reading should be there ,someone must know.

[Q] Why doesn't Windows 7 detect Kindle Fire device?

I have two windows 7 computers. When I plug in the device via USB to my desktop, the desktop immediately detects the device and shows it up as a drive.
On my laptop, it is a different story. It will list the device in the Devices and Printers section of the control panel, but it will not display the Kindle Fire as a drive.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers
So far, I have tried to open the diskmgmt.msc and check if it was just an issue with drive letter assignment. That doesn't seem to be the case.
I have rebooted my laptop several times. I have tried this with every USB port on the laptop. There are 4 of them. I know my external mouse only works with three out of these four ports.
There is one difference between the laptop and the desktop. On my laptop, I have the ADB software. As far as I know the adb has been copied over and NOT INSTALLED, so it should not make any difference.
Any ideas to what could cause this to happen?
Not too familiar with the Kindle, but sounds like you need to install the drivers (and/or Kindle software) on your laptop.

Share USB connection over Wifi/Bluetooth. Possible?

Is there an app/program or is it otherwise possible to share a usb device plugged into an android phone with a desktop computer, or vice versa over wifi or bluetooth. For example plugging a DSLR into my android phone and having it show up on the desktop computer as if it were connected via usb. There would be a ton of uses for this if it is possible. It would change your phone into a sort of wireless USB port.
there is software USB Network Gate with Win and Linux versions which probably could help you, but I don't know if it will work with Android...
I had run into USB Network Gate in my search for something similar for android. Seems like a great tool. If only it were able to run on android and was a bit cheaper.
Anyone know of something like this that will run on android?

USB Tethering - Unidentified Network - No Internet Access

I am attempting to USB tether Internet access to a desktop with a fresh install of Windows 8 Pro. The process works flawlessly on my laptop, which already has WiFi Internet access and is running up-to-date Windows 8.1. There is no software or updates installed on the PC, aside from that which comes with Windows 8 Pro. Windows Defender/Firewall are disabled.
The PC does not recognize anything stored on the GS3, whether set as MTP, PTP, or neither, making it difficult to attempt transferring drivers. I have a UWF-1 wireless LAN adapter meant for Onkyo receivers, but it shows up as "UB93" with an exclamation mark in Device Manager. I've located potential drivers for the adapter, but I'm unable to transfer them from my laptop to the PC without the PC recognizing files stored on the GS3.
I have a single DVD-R I could use to transfer, but as it is the only method of transfer I have available, and I have single disc, I want to load it up with all potential fixes I can come up with before burning.
Any suggestions to get either USB tethering or the wireless LAN adapter functioning? or getting the PC to recognize files stored on the GS3?

[Q] Acer Iconia Tab A510 not recognized/detected by a pc

Good day to everyone
i have a problem with my acer iconia tab a510.
i can't seem to connect it to my laptop. be it in osx or windows 7.
in windows, there's no notification sound that warns you that it has detected
an unknown device, the sound like when you insert a flashdrive to your pc.
it's like nothing is connected in the first place.
i want to transfer some music from my laptop to it through mass storage mode.
my question is, how can i make it work? how can i connect my tab to my laptop?
do i need a special proprietary usb cord from acer? i'm using an ordinary micro usb 2.0
connector and it's just not working, by the way the shape of the connector of my charger is
different looking than most micro usb 2.0 maybe because it's a proprietary charger.
what do i need to do? buy a new proprietary usb cord? or do i need to flash a stock rom or a custom rom perhaps?
if the latter is the answer, how do i do that, if i can't access my tab's directory without connecting it to my laptop?
