THIS app might help, when the media server feature of the PS3 is activated in network settings.
Try Skifta
I don't think anyone can stream movies out of ps3. Looks like you guys are talking about streaming movies to the ps3

I read in a german forum, that you need the PS3-Mediaserver running on a PC (Windows, Linux or Mac).
Yes but that will let you only stream movies to ps3 from pc or, to transformer from PC but NOT from ps3 to transformer. As i understand that was the question.

I'm running rooted 2.2 on captivate. I've tried to play videos off my phone through all share on my ps3 to no avail.
It won't play the videos i've taken with my phone (mp4) and it won't play downloaded movies (avi).
So my question is what format does the video have to be in to work, or is there something else i'm misssing?
anyone have an idea?
bumpity bump
Have similar problem playing some videos so I just mounted the phone instead to my ps3, about the games no idea.

Hi
I'm currently using a windows media centre PC to watch films and listen to music etc on my TV. Its on it's last legs and I was thinking of trying to replace it with some kind of android setup. other than Google TV has any one had an android box plugged into their TV to use for watching movies and Netflix etc? I'd like to be able to control it from my android phone or tablet as well as with a keyboard and mouse.
thanks
steve

I use an mk802 hdmi stick but it gets hot after three or four hours, there is also the upcoming console called ouya which is $99 and will make a good media centre as the xmbc media app was announced for it today.

Maybe the upcoming Ouya (which is mainly meant to be an Android-based gaming console) would be a good fit for this?
EDIT: Beaten!
Thanks guys. I was just looking at the ouya. It looks very interesting. I'm tempted to donate on kickstarter. Do you know if we will have access to Google play with this or do you think it will be restricted to a ouya market much the same as the amazon kindle? Mind you it's rooted out of the box so I can imagine it won't be long until someone had cm10 running on it
Thanks

There's the Nexus Q, but it's very expensive and only streams media. There are some Android TV boxes with USB and SD input. They're not perfect as they mostly run Froyo/Gingerbread and stretch them out to the TV, meaning apps like Netflix would run the mobile version which would be pretty low resolution, but there are some ICS ones now. They seem good, and affordable, some come with motion remotes to work as the mouse, others with an actual mouse.
Just search for 'Android TV Box'.

Maybe the raspberry-pi is a good choice. Wifi version with hdmi port.

The raspberry-pi is an interesting idea. I'm a little worried it will be under powered though. I like the spec on the upcoming ouya. Just a shame it doesn't have google play access out the box.
thanks

Is it possible to connect ps3 to our infinity? (Trough HDMI?)
Hell no!! I wish but its impossible because the infinity doesnt support HDMI IN, just OUT
Is it possible to transfer movies from the Infinity to the PS3 and vice versa?

Only if the infinity were formatted as a fat32 drive, and you had the same file structure that the ps3 does. basically not worth the hassle. you could get a micro sd/usb converter and just transfer stuff that way. Of course this is assuming the infinity recognizes fat 32 file structure.
You can stream movies from the infinity to your ps3.

BubbleUPnP, connect to the PS3 DLNA, click video, play with your favorite player. Easy as pie. It's a safe bet that Android can play back anything a PS3 is willing to serve up.

I bought a PS3 control TTX Tech brand, but I could not configure it, my computer does not detect it, my question is whether it is possible to use it with my INFINITY or can only used with the PS3

How does it connect? Special PS3 wireless thing, or bluetooth?

Alright, from the attached picture it seems like this controller uses RF to transmit to that dongle, so using the bluetooth method of connection isn't an option. Really I can't think of a direct way to do this. Perhaps if you have a port adapter for your tablet to make it into a standard USB 2.0 there could be a way to make it work, but without the exact details of your tablet and more info on the controller, that can't even be attempted.

Yes. The PS3 uses Bluetooth to connect controllers. That one uses RF which the PS3 doesn't have built in.

I believe the Sixasis app in the Play Store states that a lot of knock off controllers wrong work. If you don't hand an official PS3 controller, it's all worth the $60 to buy one!! I use my PS3 controllers with my phones and tablets. I've got one controller that I use solely with my Note 2, as I have a GameKlip mounted on the controller. Another controller I use with my Infinity and '13 N7 FHD. I use the Sixasis pairing tool program that I have installed on my laptop to switch between my Infinity and N7 FHD. Occasionally I'll use my OTG dock that I bought for my Note 2 to switch the controller to my N7 FHD. Even better when using the HDMI port on the Infinity and hooking it up to my 55" Sony LED TV! Dead Trigger is probably my favorite, but I've also bought all of the GTA games on the Play Store, and they're all great as well!! Android gaming is sooooo much better with a PS3 controller!!! Especially when hooked to my TV! Friends will walk in and think I'm playing on my PS3 or XBOX 360, and are always shocked when I first tell them that I'm playing through my tablet
I highly recommend buying a HDMI to micro HDMI cable, as well as an official controller!! I'm sure Asus will continue to put a micro HDMI cable in their future tablets, so the cable a good investment! The Asus Infinity successor definitely has the micro HDMI port on it.
Off topic, but I can't wait for the New Infinity! It's gonna be a beast with the Tegra 4 and all of its other specs!!!

PS3 controller
You dont need an special app! Play an game with the PS3 controller via USB and enable the Bluetooth. After 10 minutes you can find the controller in Bluetooth settings. Connect the controller via Bluetooth and now you can play without USB kable.
Sorry for my english
Were can you find the cheapest controller that works online do any off brands work or does it have to be a Sony one?

In the six-axis app description I believe it says using any controller other than the original Sony controller will not work and the control mapping will start messing up and won't work correctly so yes you do need the original controller. You could also try using MOGA controllers if that's what you prefer but I don't think it works with the six-axis app
