4g down in nyc?

In queens right now been trying to get 4g for a half now and its not coming.

Anyone? Still cant get it

Lol its working now without a battery pull.
edit: Just keeps going in and out and then goes to 1X

now im not getting a signal. Time to call big red

Can somebody help me? Phone been stuck on 3g/1x all day and will not go back to 4g. I powered it off and did a battery pull. Still no luck. Called Verizon and they dont know what to do, they said I should do a battery pull and I refuse to do that.

I'm on stock. Just don't understand why its not working

There's nothing wrong with a battery pull. It's harmless.

what the hell is going on?!

Seems like its a queens thing. I went through Manhattan and I am now in the Bronx and 4g is pumping.

i think its all of nyc im in staten island

So happy, I found this thread. I thought it was me. Been down for me off and on all day. Brooklyn and long island.

ok thanks for posting man! When we have these problems we should call Verizon so they can know we have a problem in the city....because when I called they didnt know any problems going on in the city and couldn't do nothing for me they wanted me to do a hard reset. Everything is good now I am in the bronx now 3:04 Am was out drinking lol

I spoke to someone today about slow data since January and they told me that they're moving to Network Vision towers right now (3G/4G in one tower). She said they happen to be doing NY over the weekend, specifically Queens and Brooklyn. That might be it.

Hard brick question

Alright soooo today I hard bricked my nexus s 4g on purpose jjust to see if I could unbrick. Well I managed to hard brick no boot loop or even lights turned on or anything. I plugged it in and my computer wouldn't recognize for obvious reasons and then my dad grabbed my phone to move it for a min while plugged in and I don't know what buttons he pushed but it got into download mode. But not regular download mode. It was Andy with a jackhammer and triangle...has anybody else gotten this?
(P.s. when that came up computer recognized right away and I unbricked)

Download mode is on every Android phone I've owned.
Also I wish people would stop using the word "bricked" so liberally :\

I know this. Its just the image wasn't the one that was on here before. And believe me I'm not a noob I do this all day everyday. Flash roms I'm writing a rom now. I know what I'm doing it just surprised me that the image was different than previous times I've had to force into download

What is the deal with the media scanner?

I hate the stupid media scanner. You know I boot into my rom I wanna use it, not freaking wait 20 minutes while it scans my system 20 times.... sorry just had to vent. Been a frustrating day.

Do you wanna be able to see all your pictures in the gallery? See all your music in the music players?
If so....sit back and wait cause that's what's going on. Its reading your crap so those apps know it exists.
And unless your internal sd is full and you have an old pos sdcard that's packed full too i highly doubt it takes 20 minutes.

Windows 7 doesn't have a media scanner... Just saying

Honestly I wouldn't take this thread too seriously, I just spent 4 hours customizing ics on my phone and then it locked up and wouldn't boot animation, so I spent the next 2 hours putting a kk4 rom back on and restoring, tweaking etc, and at some point booting was taking forever because of the media scanner and that was the end of my patience so I had to blow off some steam. Some days in the world of custom roms just don't go your way, but in hindsight It was worth a shot to ics as I've been dying to play with the and I didn't wanna get hassled by a Verizon employee just to check it out.

You have the worst luck with ROMs I've ever seen. Why does everything you flash break.

Not too much till recently, I haven't been stock since December of 2010. I'm taking ics with a grain of salt, they are considered experimental versions as of now anyway. Probably could of fixed if I wiped data and started over but I was running out of time and tb wasn't working right with ics so just easier to throw a kk4 rom back on. So far so good with this one

It might be time for a full wipe. With the issues you've been having I would say try the full wipe. Either that or your hardware might be starting to die a slow, painful death.

I haven't tried any games yet but I put saraum kk4 back on and installed the newest version of the corn kernal, oc'd to 1200, and ran system corporate tweaks and the phone is running great currently! Bluetooth, wifi, 3G all work great, think I might be good to go on this rom, haven't tried a game yet, as I gotta redownload the 500 meg files for each one

My infuse has passed

Well it's been fun peps. This morning i woke up to a dead phone.( didn't change anything for months) When i powered up all i would get is the samsung logo then when i tried to cwm it brought up a weird blue red and yellow recovery that used the home key as the select. When i tried to odin back to stock it wouldn't take even sitting ther for an hour:banghead:. Then when i tried to restart the procces it never powerd on again. Time for an upgrade anyway. :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer: thanks to everyone that has helped me with making this phone so cool and fun.

Headphone icon on BUT no jack plugged in.WTF

Ok, last night. i was playing a game and lost sound.. then i checked my status bar and headphone icon was on but i dont have any headphones plugged in.... when the icon is up, i have no sound at all. It acts like i have my headphones plugged in.
restarted the phone. icon gone and sound was back. Then a few minutes later icon pops back up.
So i decided to plug the headphones in and it auto dials my last call.. wtf.. but when i unplug it, it cancels the call....
I flashed a stock rom.. i even done the RUU mod we have on the general section. no luck.
anybody experience this problem??? or a fix possibly?
It turns off and on so random and how long it stays on. Software issue or hardware.

UPDATE. i checked further into the headphone jack. one prong was stuck and it wouldn't pop back out.. i rarely used this jack also.. hmmm, build quality eh... only had this phone a little over 14days. sucks..

I had this exact thing happen last night! No idea why, either. I did a couple reboots and a restore but still came back. Then it just magically stopped and hasn't happened since. Would love to know what's going on, too.

I was worried that I had water damage because shortly before I saw it happen I had an awning full of water collapse and dump on my head. I'm guessing that didn't happen to you so that's probably not it!

Hi folks, I just had this problem and I know the feels.
Now you don't have to worry, the solution is this:
Try using your radio built-in application over and over again. Doing this will make your mobile to search recursively for a headphone/headset signal. Since there is no headphone actually plugged in, your mobile will eventually detect that in fact, this is true and will exit that obnoxious headset mode.
Hope this can help you all guys.
Pd. I'm not sure if I used English wrong, if that happens to be the case: sry for bad English. Lol.
