Is the speaker volume VERY low or is it just my phone? I have youtube videos turned all the way up, notifications turned all the way up, etc., and it's still not that loud.
^^^Agreed, I noticed this as well. Its not a big issue, though.

Good to know it's not just my phone then. I can live with it.
Me too. I was thinking out was just my phone.
There is already a post about this FYI.....Go to: Settings>Call>Enable "Hearing Aids"
This will help tremendously. Enjoy.
at even the highest setting, its low on my phone. but what i've found out is that the speaker is capable of a very loud sound, but is locked by the software for the highest it can go. what i am talking about is , like for google navigation, turn the volume to the highest setting, and you can see that voice guidance is extremely loud. but for all other things on the phone, its low. so a custom rom would have to increase this setting for everything to be loud, not just voice guidance on google navigation.
It's definitely not a good speaker, but check out an app called Equalizer to boost your levels.
Try volume+ from the market.
I've not got a sensation but I have increased the volume of my lg o2x hugely.

Unfortunately volume+ crashes on the Sensation.
So strange you are all claiming speaker quality is bad. Mine it's great. Very loud and clear/crisp.. Music, videos, calls. Everything. Especially with the SRS enhancement checked.

Where do I check SRS enhancement?

SRS is great on the HTC apps but doesn't affect Sirius or other media apps.
Well even my youtube videos and speaker phone conversations are loud and crisp on the speaker. No problems with low volume here.

For listening to music on my bt headset I use the equalizer in poweramp to boost the volume, works well for me. For voice calls I find the volume and sound quality to be amazing.

I have nothing about enabling hearing aids, or is this just a joke?
Id like to know why my phones speaker is louder than when I plug external speakers in. This isn't too clever seen as the volume also seens very low on mine. :/

Hi, yes equalizer seems to help with the speaker by cranking everything up. Still nothing like the results you can get from volume plus.
On the plus side the speaker seems to be better than previous htc devices. I have always been put off by the poor speaker. Motorola speakers I have to have below max!
I will email volume+ developer and see if he or she will update.

Yes, it currently doesn't work on the Sensation and I'm not entirely sure why. I'm currently looking into why it force closes and will then release a bug fix.
Thanks.

Maybe its just me but today when i answered a call I had a really hard time hearing what the other person was saying. I put the in-call volume all the way to the max but still it was very low. Is there specific reason its doing this? Have you guys had this problem before?

Does ICS have any adjustments to the volume of the speaker phone or headset volume? The Sensation has always had weak volume.

I had the same problem to, tried all things nothing helped, then someone told me about an app called volume+ must be rooted to work the best.....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TEST.android.lvh&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5URVNULmFuZHJvaWQubHZoIl0.
I got the paid app after I tried it out, more settings.
Not sure I want to root my phone yet. I know its easy to do. Just kind of waiting of ics to see if it makes it better. Wondering if anyone with ics already has seen a change.

Hi, I intalled Equalizer EQ from the market, set in the sittings "automatic" and increased the equalizer. That improved the volume a lot.

Thanks I will give that shot

You don't have to root with volume +, just to use the in call settings you must have root.... you can use either of the two apps which work fine....

On the contrary i need one to lower the volume, because my in-call and speaker volumes are way too loud.

Why you would need an hack for that?
Bump. Speaker volume is too low, have difficulty hearing with the ceiling fan on!

I'd much rather have the headphone jack output volume increased by 3dB
Speaker volume being too loud is okay. But not the in call volume, because even when I turn down the volume all the way down people close to my proximity can hear everything.
So its more of a privacy issue for me rather than an inconvenience.

I've had a hard time hearing people on the handset speaker. I've maxed the in call volume and still cannot hear loud enough. I just recently flashed CM10...is there a mod or setting I can change to increase handset speaker/in call volume?
