[Q] Curiosity question? - HTC Sensation

Hey guys I have a few quick questions and just would like to hear your opinions.
Right now what is the most developed phone that is dual core and has somewhat similar specs to the sensation?
Do you believe the sensation once s off and unlocked bootloader happens will surpase the answer to the previous answer?

IIRC it would have to be the G2x.
Personally I prefer the sensation over the G2x just cause of looks and just overall I feel like development will bloom since the 3vo 3d and sensation are identicle so if someone made Rom for the other it would be easy to port it to the other. My 2 cents

unlocked htc sensation?

quick question i am on at&t right now but i want to get new phone and i am thinking about getting htc sensation unlocked..will it work for at&t the way its working for t mobile..like connection, battery, faster or etc...if not then i will get htc desire hd....reply quick will be buying in next few hours....
It will work but you wont have 3g or 4g. You will be stuck on edge which kinda sucks. Everything else is the same.
If you really want the sensation, its an amazing phone, try getting it from bell canada because itsbon the same bands as att. Hope this helps.

Bad move that's an old phone. Sensation is a dual core at 1.2Ghz imo you should of gotten the sensation.

not nessessarily. There is no doubt the sensation is a superior phone in all possible aspects but having a phone that is stuck on edge in this times sucks.
Getting the bell sensation is an option but importing is going to cost quite a lot more than the desire HD.
Whycdont you try the galaxy s2 it actually runs like it has a dual core proccessor, nice design and is made of good quality. I had a sensation and within 3 hours it crapped out on me. Also don't forget that amoled screen. Sorry for my bad spelling in a rush.

I had a SG2 it crapped out on me never again will I get a cheaply made Apple wanna touchwiz phone agian. They deserved to get sued lol.j/k.

just because you had a bad experience with the device, it does not mean the device is crap. People need to stop generalizing because it does no body good. Now I bet there are enough threads here about sensation vs sammy g 2 and about how the sensation is crap or how its the greatest phone in the world. It is not what this thread is about and this thread could pretty much be closed.
However I would like to say that I am very happy with my sensation. Design is to me better than the SG2 and I prefer QHD to a AMOLED with fewer pixels. It is however all preference and both phones are great. The OP ended up with the desire HD which is also a great phone
the reason i didn't bought htc sensation its because i don't want to stuck with edge...thats why i bought htc desire hd...and i don't like samsung phones because they look cheap....
sensation rocks

[Q] couldn't find a sensation xe forum so i'm guessing that i can ask about it here

I currently have the DHD, and I was kind off interested in the sensation XE as a possible upgrade, finance is not an issue, but i was really discouraged after reading about the sensation's ''Death grip'' issue.... I have looked around on the internet but couldn't find any suffiecient responses regarding that issue....
1.do you guys know if the death grip probs are still being reported by sensation XE users???
2. if no, do you recommend me upgrading my DHD to XE??
**motives for upgrade== better specs, better battery life i.e more movies, more **games etc. , better music experience, and last but not least to possibly get **the new version of android and htc sense
p.s plz feel free to recommend any other device for a possible upgrade (excluding Galaxy s2 )
Ive just upgraded from the DHD to the XE and i couldnt be happier! I havent noticed any issues with a 'death grip' at all.
Dual core is smooth and havent had any lag, beats sounds amazing (although i know they have a runnymede port on dhd anyway), the headphones are pretty good and phone feels the usual HTC quality. The thing i noticed the most is the better screen resolution, and as it has gorilla glass, there's no need for a screen protector!
All in all a very decent upgrade and id have no hesitation in recommending it!
Just wait off there are better phones coming out soon

If you live by that policy, you would never buy a new phone. Or a new PC. Or a new car ......
I've had no issues with death grip on my Sensation. Couldn't be happier that I made the right choice.
thank you guyz for the responses.....it really helps
And this members opinion I'd learn to ignore. Just for future reference .

G2x to HTC Sensation

Hey guys I'm looking to get the HTC Sensation, But I need to know a few things. Is the rom development good? Especially towards ICS? What accessories should I buy that I need? And is it worth getting rid of my g2x for it? Thanks!

I'd say the sensation is a step up but I'm not exactly a non bias party tho.
There are currently no roms containing ics. There is a major alpha Rom under development.
Make sure to get yourself a case and maybe an mhl adaptor. Some nice headphones wouldn't be a bad idea either
Currently the arhd roms for sense 3.0 and 3.5 are very well built and do wonders for efficiency and performance. It just depends what your looking for in a Rom

OK thank you! The big reason is that I personally think a 4 inch screen is too small for me. Don't get me wrong I love stock Android but I always need to change my phones customization that's why I love sense. And I love the build quality of HTC phones. And the g2x's Rom development is dead. Basically.

ya i agree about the build quality and the sense being a top selling point. i love the sensation and with it being one of the few devices getting ICS first (at least as of now) the development should be going strong for at least 6 monthsd from now.
That is a long time in android years lol

i have both phones and have the sensation as my daily. while i like the sensation slightly more i must say the sense is what keeps me. i hated sense until i really started to use it and im now hooked. i also think though that the g2x has a much sharper and nicer screen.
performance wise i have tested both side to side and the only thing the lg wins in testing over the sensation is neocore (nvidia processors). 78.9fps to 60fps. however linpack and quadrant the sensation takes the cake.
generic testing i know. but it does help to some degree.

I'm not trying to say the sensation screen sucks. As a matter of fact the resolution is greater than the the one on the g2x. However I must say that the screen seems richer and sharper on the g2x. Just my 2 cents...

I have both the G2X and the Sensation and I like the Sensation better. The G2X seems faster and benchmarks faster, but both are fast enough and the bigger screen on the Sensation is my main reason..
I also have a Tmobile Galaxy S2 but I actually do not use it anymore and switched back to the Sensation because the S2 is too big, it is hard to use with one hand and a pain to carry around..
All 3 have custom roms on them and whichever gets a stable ICS first will be my new daily use phone...
the s2 looks amazing and has amazing specs. seeing as you have all three phones is it hands down the best for performance outta the 3? also i love the screen but i think 4.3 is about the biggest id need.
Yea okay I'm definitely switching because the g2x has a nvidia processor and there is no way there going to give the drivers out. So no ICS for the g2x until the official release.

Which used GSM Android to buy for max $250

Hi Guys,
Which Android phone would you advice me with a budget of maximum €200 ($250)? I'm willing to buy something used.
Mainly I need good and stable WiFi Tethering (Hotspot, not peer-to-peer access point).
Second thing is the speed - I'm upgrading from a HTC Hero, which even after rooting with VillainROM isn't really the fastest...
HTC Desire? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Edit: sorry wrong section, moved question to here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26891627#post26891627
For used phone i think Galaxy S i9000. i have this phone and a very very good device
Thanks for your answer.
Actually, the Galaxy S Advance still fits my budget, so I guess it would be a much better choice than the S i9000?
I'm looking for a 3.7" or 4.0" phone (I'd like it to be usable with one hand) so that leaves me with rather limited choices. I have also found the Xperia Sola, but it seems that it isn't very popular here on xda, and I have read it has browsing problems...
Other than that, the Galaxy Ace 2 seems very interesting.
What would you advice? Or are there any other phones worth considering?
Buy the HTC explorer or Samsung GT-5360 there both good phones.

I can only suggest that what ever you get, make sure it's HTC!

I used to have a Desire Z (the one with the hardware keyboard) but it started feeling too slow because of lack of sheer CPU horsepower.
I managed to snag a used HTC Sensation 4G for about $250 and I absolutely love it. There are lots of great ICS ROMs for it (outside of any official ICS releases). With newer phones coming out, you should be able to pick up a used one within your budget.
Good luck!
HTC sensations are going for around 250 in my area.

..if you can, go for the HTC Sensation...otherwise Samasung Galaxy S
Thanks so much for the answers
I was looking at these phones, I think I might stretch my budget, but the Sensation is 4.3"... My original goal was to be able to use the phone in one hand, but maybe I'm exaggerating?
Last time I went to a store here I found that the Xperia Sola (3.7") was OK to use with one hand. The Galaxy S Advance (4.0") felt quite large already, but was also possible. There wasn't anything 4.3", but the One X (4.7") felt totally impossible.
If I were to go for the Samsung, is a Galaxy S really preferred over a dual-core 1,0GHz Galaxy S Advance??? Or is it to be expected that there won't be much development for the S Advance?
And about the Sensation - I see there is the Sensation 4G with a 1,2GHz CPU and the XE with a 1,5GHz. I assume the latter would be of preference?
Get the LG g2x
HTC sensation XE. Great phone.

The Sensation XE has a faster CPU (not THAT noticeable) but it does have Beats Audio, which the regular 4G doesn't have.
Of course, if Beats Audio is important to you and you can get a 4G for cheap, do it and just root your device and install a custom ROM onto it. There are lots of them and some of them have Beats built in.
Moto photon 4g, amazing phone

Honestly. I thought 4' was the perfect size. Then I got the sensation and omg. No lies its the perfect size screen. 4.3 is what they should leave em at. I have a epic 4g touch and jesus christ its too big for my hands.

Why?
The folks from the Atrix forum claim that CM9 is usable on daily basis, and the videos of it on youtube look really good (very smooth)
I am actually considering a SGS2 now, because they have dropped in price second hand considerably (I can get a used SGS2 for the price of a new Atrix here), but I'm still not really convinced I'll get used to the size of it...

I've had the atrix and honestly. Idk what the deal is about Motorola but the atrix just isn't smooth. Its not slow, no not at all but I mean it studders on every little action. I don't know how to explain it, its like its not optimized for the hardware.

[Q] Sensation vs Nexus i9250

Hi,
I've a question regarding the HTC Sensation. I'm a proud HTC Sensation owner but i got an offer from a friend that he would like to experience a different phone and he has the Nexus i9250. Now is my question: What would be the better phone?
I know it sounds silly to start a topic about it in the HTC Sensation forums but still i want to ask a most open-minded opinion on what would be better.
Thanks in regards,
Marlo
take the gnex. its more open, got a bigger screen and its the fastest way to get OTA updates
Well I owned the sensation and am too looking for a gnex. The step up is definitely worth it, faster, bigger and better screen, lighter.... And forementioned OTA
