[Q] Q: How to remove social networking pane from notification panel - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

I just ordered my SK4G, and after trying one out, am itching to get the bloatware off. Would it be possible to remove the FB/Twatter shortcut with Metamorph?
I am planning to run stock 2.2.1 w/SuperOneClick & CWM (until a good Cyanogen port hits), and have at least some experience dealing with franchise device bs. In-depth h4x much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, 31337 of XDA

Settings > Display > My Social Network Status
Unchecking that will get rid of the update pane in the notification panel, but you lose the pane with the toggles for wifi, bluetooth, gps, vibrate, and auto rotate.
I leave mine checked and just swap to the toggle pane when I start up the phone. It doesn't swap back to the status update pane unless you turn off the phone, so it doesn't get too annoying.

Groovy. I suppose I can wait until that little frivolity is patched along with Gingerbread, unless Cyanogen hurries up, what a weird place to put a setting like that... 0.o

Thanks, the fix worked fine. Btw I'm using Widgetsoid in place of it for customizeable settings buttons.

Samsung Epic taskbar Radio on/off buttons port to EVO??

I've been searching everywhere and see ports or attempts at the Epic launcher/touchwiz, etc. being ported. I would rather stick with Sense.
However the 4 radio on/off buttons hidden away with the task bar seems perfect and would love to see it ported to the EVO.
Is anybody working on this or have any ideas/suggestions?
Agreed! This would be so amazing… I think the best bet would be for someone to add it to CM6, as it seems more like a core OS feature than an addon.
probably wont happen, I asked about this a few months back and many devs answered with why not. for it to happen we would need to port the framework from the galaxy s phones. it can happen, but it would take a lot of work. i would love this feature too though.
Would love this also....BOUNTY anyone???
Isn't there already an app that can place a control bar in the notication area?

Your sig is obnoxiously large. Why don't you resize it?
I think what you're looking for is bar control
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Bar Control is ok. It let's you put app short cuts in control bar. What the Epic task bar does is keep the Radio on/off buttons hidden till you pull down. Something we need but hidden away, yet quickly and easily accessible!
It like receiving a notification in your pull down task bar, but it's permanent!
The market app "Notification Status" comes closest to doing the same thing. It cost .99yuan
I would to also love this function on my EVO. My wife has the Epic 4g & I love the status bar buttons. Tried some other apps, can't find anything that works as simple as the Epic4g buttons.
CyanogenMod Nightly (after build 116) has this built in. You can select what you want to have in the bar, just like for the Power Control widget (WiFi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, GPS, Sound, Brightness, Auto-Sync, Screen shut-off timer, Auto-rotate, 2G/3G (doesn't work on CDMA phones), data on/off, lockscreen on/off, airplane mode, etc.)
https://yfrog.com/0keu0p
I was looking for the same thing, best I could find was using "quick desk beta" (double tap home to bring up a screen over your current app and add whatever widgets you need to it) I have most of the curvefish widgets on it (brightness, gps, airplane, WiFi, auto rotate, etc pretty much everything but a 4g toggle)

[Q] looking for quick settings in CM7

I'm new and I've searched the threads and of the links i have found no one has answered them. So please don't flame me for not searching.
I recently rooted and have tried a few roms. I liked CoreDroid, but I recently switched to CM7 stable (7.0.3) and haven't wanted to go back. However there are 2 things that I miss from CoreDroid that I don't have.
1 - the quick settings tab under the notifications pull down. So that I can lower the media volume. Ultimately i'm looking for an easy way to mute the sound when playing games, and the other settings do not seem to work.
2 - Someone had a package for the battery icon in the status bar of CoreDroid to change the battery to the circle battery. Will that work in CM7?

#1. Check under cm settings for sound profiles. I am sure your answer is in there.
#2. NO!!! You can just got the ultimate kitchen and create a flashable add on for a circle battery an d a lot more! If you flash the other one from coredroid you will need to flash the rom over again as it will soft brick.

Both of your concerns can be addressed, here is what you need to do.
CM7 has a feature that is better than the HTC Sense quick settings tab. There is a built-in power widget in the notification bar at the top of the screen, where you can pick and choose exactly which toggles you want to go there (you will want to add the "Toggle Sound" button). To configure it, press your phone's menu button > CyanogenMod settings > Interface > Notification power widget > Widget buttons. You will see around 18 buttons that you can enable/disable. The buttons that are enabled are what will show up in the notification bar. At the bottom of this screen you can also customize the modes of some of the buttons (the sound toggle is configurable to allow you to toggle between different sound modes). Go back one screen and you'll see "Widget button order" where you can change the order of the buttons from left to right. The notification bar can hold 6 or 7 buttons before you'll have to swipe to the right to see any additional ones (I've got 9 buttons).
There is a circle battery mod for CM7 in this thread. If you primarily just want the battery only then you'll want to flash the file called CM7_stable-DHD-SmoothC.zip (you flash this in recovery mode). If you want to give CM7 more of a blue themed look in addition to the circle battery, then flash the file named CM7_stable-DHD-Blue_SmoothC.zip

Thanks guys. I've tried the settings in the power widget. It still doesn't change the media volume. Could it be a bug? If i set it to vibrate or silent neither changes the media volume.
Thanks for the circle battery post, i'll try that this weekend. I'm new to the droid, been brainwashed by apple for a long time. So far i'm not looking back.

[Q] Searched, tested, tried. Toggles in notification bar?

Ok. Looked and tried all kinds of things. I have the Droid bionic. its a great phone. for the most part, i love it. But is there any way to put some toggle switches in my notification bar? toggle notifications takes up too much space, and the all in one requires a pop up. Same for widgetsoid. had the incredible with cm7. If i could have something like power control widget right in the task bar that would be perfect. Or miui's toggle setup. is there anything i've missed?
thanks for your time.

I think it's a known gingerbread issue, no word on the Widgetsoid dev as of late... correct me if I'm wrong. I'm using quickdesk, I googled this problem and found a thread from a droidx forum that recommended the app. Just double tap home to bring up a homescreen that goes over your home screen, or any application you are on and you can put any widget or app of your choosing, it's not as easy as the notification pull down, but it's relatively fast to toggle what you need and you're not taking up screen space. Hope this helps.

Customize toggles in notification bar

Hello,
I write this post because I need some information for the personalization of my nexus5 (kitkat stock rom).
I would like to customize the toggles accessible from the notifications bar.
I need to have:
-A button that allows me to enable or disable the data network (currently enters clicking in the statistics and from there I have to click the button on / off)
-A button that allows me to make 2g/3g/4g switch (sometime if i need only use whatsapp i use edge for saving battery)
Have you any suggestions?
I know someone will chase the rabbit of the hat!
Thank you,
xSliv3r
HI
Please try
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
I use Power Toggles:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc
It works very well and you can create toggles for your Notification area or as Widgets for you homescreen.
Hi,
thanks for your answers!
I've tried this app but there isn't possibility to add nothing in quick toggles area...
With this app, minewhile, i've added the toggles in notification area...
Have you ideas?
Thanks,
xSli

I have root but don't think this is available unless you flash a custom ROM, I'm just praying for AKOP to release something...

Has anyone with Root access tried GravityBox Xposed app yet? That should do the trick but I don't know if they updated to 4.4 support yet.
the xposed framework doesn't work on 4.4 yet, sadly. The developer just ordered an N5, and is already looking at the issues, so hopefully we'll have an update soon.
you've already got a data toggle, press and hold the centre button which has the signal icon on it. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work exactly the same way, quick press into settings, long press toggle. Arse about face compared to others but it works.
I couldnt install either of those apps..kept getting error 920...awesome.
Had the phone in my hand for an hour and debating sending it back for a few reasons.i dont know why google wouldnt implement quick panel..its a basic must have for many

Im just waiting for the up to date Cyanogenmod build to be developed and released which will have fully customizable expanded quick setting tiles as standard. Its what I usually do with all my Nexus devices.

I have used the various 23 Toggle mods, battery mods etc that are available for the Note 2, S3 etc. Looking forward to these being available for the N5... but development takes time.
coming from CM on my old LG P990, this is the only thing that I'm missing ; customizable quick setting tiles.
I use old good Widgetsoid. Very customizable.

GravityBox
I'm using GravityBox and works very well. I recommend you to try it. It needs root acces.
I'm using Quicker Free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bwx.bequick2
It is similar to the QuickPanel in appearance but allows you to add and remove the settings you like. Also allows you to make more than one screen of settings.
Actually just tried out Power Toggles and like it better than Quicker Free
Just use Cataclysm rom. It's pretty much stock rom with a few added options like this
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I use extended settings haven't tried any of the other options really but it does what i need it to do and i think it meets your needs and its also free but there is a paid version with some extra features

Giving my phone to my daughter, need some help

I went ahead and went back to stock 4.1.2, rooted and trwp just in case. In any case coming from CM10, which allows me to adjust anything, this rom sucks. My main problem is the top down slide down menu with all the icons to turn on wifi, bluetooth, etc. I want to get rid of some of those and just have wifi, airplane, gps, and screen rotation, I don't need the rest but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get rid of them or adjust that bar. Any help would be appreciated. The second thing is the notification area get's filled up too quickly, especially when mails come in. I just want sms/mms notifications there and no mail notifications , an indicator of new mail on the top bar is sufficient. Thanks a bunch...
Jeff
Since you're rooted, you can get Xposed Framework to get most/all your customizations, including your toggles.
You should be able to stop individual apps from posting notifications in the app info settings. I think that came around in 4.1, hopefully Samsung/AT&T/Rogers didn't disable that for whatever reason. If I understand you correctly, though, you don't want any email notification in the shade but you still want something in the bar? Not sure how to go about that, but you can always get a launcher with an unread count that shows up on the email icon.
