This is a noob question. I pulled some apk from the new uck1 release like infoalarm and some of the live wallpapers. But when I put into system/app folder on my phone, I'm not seeing them.
I match permissions using root explorer. I'm on GR-12.
I tried installing but keep getting application not installed.
Thx in advance.

You would have to pull the mms.apk from her ROM, then transfer it to your phone. Then copy the file to system/app rename your old mms.apk first, then copy new one over. Be sure to change permissions to rw-r-r.

OK sweet ,I found a transparent mms app on these forums when I put it in the system folder I overwrite than go to use it and its still stock !

Here's some link's to some modified apps like Gmail Facebook and Market and Google+
I haven't tried all of these only the black and white transparent Facebook and Google+. But I pushed them to system/app. You might be able to flash them but I didn't try it.
If you brick your phone I'm not responsible.

Modified Apps

Hey I was wondering how are people modifing there apps pls help
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I think some use uot kitchen
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
UOT kitchen is very basic. Only mods framework.apk, tw-framework.apk and systemui.apk. All other apps you need to mod yourself. Look into apkmanager.

Agreed, for simple icon changes (appearance) you can extract the apk, edit the icons to your desire, then push them back into the apk and push or flash it. There isn't much to it.

You use adw launcher, or launcher pro to install that icon pack. For installing themes I would recomend on doing more reasearch on the treads. This has been asked many times. There are diffrent themes for diffrent Roms. You need to be rooted in order to flash custom Roms and custom themes. Please help you self and research, the forems, before asking questions.

Its ok I should just make my caption say premium search doesn't work xD Haha so I don't have to explain myself all the time :/

I know that with adw and I believe go launcher now, you can use custom images for icons. If they're regular images, you can simply unzip it and browse to them thru your launcher options.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
I use adw its easy to change icons, you can apply a whole set to a theme or long press app or folder from home screen to change icon. Very easy and quite handy
You can also use desktop visualizer....anycut or its big brother Better cut from the market.
But most launchers give you the ability to use custom icons.

After, the program asks me to choose between various options ... I selected APK HANDLER.
As soon as I click the phone locks and the task is finished ...
I do not know what else to try!
Thanks to the availability,
