[Q] How to access bootloader / recovery mode? - HTC ChaCha

Hi all,
I'm new to Android and ChaCha. However I read pretty extensively about accessing bootloader / recovery mode, and still I'm not able to access it. I tried:
- Volume Down button, and then Power (hold them for up to 1 min)
- Volume Up button, and then Power (hold them for up to 1 min)
- Arrow up button, and then Power (hold them for up to 1 min)
- and even the Home button (on touch screen), and then Power (hold them for up to 1 min)
and nothing works... Any ideas? Or is my phone somehow locked (S-ON???) and that's why I can't access it?
Thanks for your help!

Settings, power, fastboot - un ticked.

Thank you.
Turned the setting off, and it worked with Volume Down button, and then Power (for around 5 sec).
I have HBOOT 1.04.0000, and S-ON
Now I'll have to find how to root it, or even how to flash it to S-OFF...

Follow daldroid's method to flash recovery.img + system.img
afterwards, your magic will be back to life...

Try to (exactly)
IF THE PHONE IS POWERED ON
1: remove the battery
2: keep BACK pressed while reinserting the battery (KEEPING BACK PRESSED)
3: wait some seconds (KEEP the keys pressed)
4: the phone should be in fastboot mode
IF THE PHONE IS POWERED OFF
1: press BACK, keep it pressed, press POWER, keep it pressed
2: wait some seconds (KEEP the keys pressed)
3: the phone should be in fastboot mode
If this is not working for you, maybe you flashed another SPL and/or another radio.
I've written a lot of posts recommending not to change the SPL because it seems 1.33.1008 or 1.33.1009 are the latest (at the time of writing) like the corresponding radios.
I don't have any image for this SPL or radio version and I don't know a method to recover from a bad SPL.
I hope your problem is not a hardware or SPL related and you'll be able to get fastboot mode.
Bye

if you cant turn of the device with the power button just press power + vol up at the same time for 3 sec
now it should turn off

Here is how I was able to get into different booting modes.

2. Power up and wait for the M sign to show up
3. Press volume down, nvFlash will display, press volume down again, RSD mode will display, press volume down again, fastboot mode will display.
4. Press volume up to select fastboot
5. Go ahead and flash the kernel that you like to restore
can you change the booting mode by pressing vol down?

thanks for your quick response..
yes,i can reboot/powerr off by power+vol UP.
but if only press power button to turn off ,nothing happens.
EDIT:-try this method and no success.
I don't know if I got something wrong up there, but since you didn't flash anything and were just playing around with vol up/down, you should not have to flash anything...
What happens if you just reset your xoom by holding vol up + power for 3 seconds and after that just wait? Imo your xoom should just boot back into android and everything should be fine...
he donĀ“t has to flash something
i am not sure if he wasnt able to turn of the device... and reboot it or something else...
the points for flashing r optional - if he wants to change the kernel or something

Try holding Vol up + PWR for 3 seconds and release, you should see the Motorola logo.
Can you tell us what happened before the xoom went off, or if you have loaded a custom ROM some time ago.

Let the battery go all the way down. Then put it on charge and try to boot-up.
Can you get into fastboot mode? If so, you should be able to reboot into your OS.

[Q] White screen and frozen buttons after downgrade

Hi Mates,
I tried to root my HTC Desire HD - but something seem to have gone wrong?!
I downloaded the Advanced Ace Hack Kit and read the effen manual guide.
Then I started the "hack-ace.cmd" as Administrator on Windows 7 x64.
I entered the key from the txt file and proceeded with selecting 1 and pressed Enter key.
Then the program told me that I needed to downgrade, so I confirmed with "y" and then it asked if I wanted to download some UUR or what it was called, so I confirmed again with "y".
After some time it asked me to reboot, but after startup I only see a white screen now, with H-BOOT-0.85.0024 - Radio-26.09.04.12_M2 - bot my vol up and vol down keys + power button on the phone does not respond now... so I see BLUE highlighted HBOOT and FASTBOOT on my screen now, but I am not able to select with VOL DOWN to go to Recovery or any other menu items, af the VOL and POWER buttons are frozed.
If I remove the battery, then I am able to press and hold down VOL DOWN and POWER together, in order to enter this menu again... but no reaction after this.
What do I do to recover my phone now, as I wanted to root it, and after that flash it with a new file?!
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Osukido

Phone Not Booting Up Properly ? Help

Normally when you boot up your phone you press the power button for 2-4 seconds But no on mine
i hold the power button of 2-4 seconds - Doesnt Boot up
i hold the power button and the LED's in the touchscreen controls flash 16 times then stop - still no boot
i hold the power button and the LED's in the touchscreen controls flash 16 times then stop i release the power button and press it again it then finally boots - Boots up
I Have tried with and without fast boot no difference
I Have Root,S-OFF,Custom Recovery And CID HTC_001
i dont mind if i have to use fast boot as quick boot (app) can boot me into boot loader recovery etc..
Hold down the POWER key until the keys flash, and let go once they stop. Hold down the volume down key, and run the appropriate RUU for your device in fastboot USB mode.

Solution : Recovery Mode Problem - Android logo lying down with a red sign.

And here am here showing how to fix the problem of recovery mode of not showing any recovery options when entering recovery mode.
You may enter recover mode with CWM or from system recovery mode by holding down vol up + vol down + lock key or in Samsung by vol up and home key or whatever yours is.
Then many people complains about not showing any options instead of Android logo lying down with a red attention sign.
It is not a problem or error basically it is locked basically what you will do to solve is :
1) Press vol up and vol down key at the same time. And hold for few seconds (this may work on most devices)
2) Simultaneously press both the vol up and down keys (try this if first didn't worked)
3) If both didn't worked try combining the both step given above and this will show you the options.
Instruction - To scroll press up and down press vol up and vol down keys respectively.
Note - Touch keys don't work in recovery mode.
