[Q] Is this how podcasts work on Mango? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I subscribed to a few podcasts on my phone with the Mango beta and after I listened to them I deleted them. The next day I was looking to see what was out there and noticed when I selected one I had already listened to it showed subscribe at the bottom instead of unsubscribe.
So does this mean I have to keep at least one on the phone to stay subscribed?

that is the same thing i discovered as well seems dumb but it may be a bug.have you tried sync thru zune does it unsubscribe you if you do it that way

They don't show as subscribed in Zune. One question I have is.. If I have it set at 1 will the phone auto download the next new episode? I have it set at newest 1st and of course if I delete it , it downloads the next oldest. Should have a setting by date maybe?
update:
The music/video tile didn't show update but I went into my podcasts and it showed which ones had a new one. So with only one on phone that was already played it was removed with a new one added. One downside is I have had horrible battery life the last two days. And that is with bluetooth off but wifi on.

GMail Not Auto-Refreshing/Pushing!

When I get new emails, or delete emails on my computer, the phone is NOT UPDATING/REFRESHING. This happened BEFORE AND AFTER the OTA UPDATE. I also made sure in settings that it was set to sync.
Whenever I manually refresh, the manual refresh works. So far that's the only way it works. I just came from a Vibrant and it was working fine.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sorry I do not have a solution...but I notice the same on mine
When I woke up this morning and grabbed my phone on the way out the door, I noticed I had no emails. I know that I usually get a few throughout the night/early morning (bank balances and such). When I opened the Gmail app and hit refresh...it suddenly pulled them all and had 13 unread emails...
...I noticed for the last week or so, my HD2 running Foyo 2.2 was also acting a bit wonky with email delivery as well...but because Android is not native on that device, I kind of blamed it on that fact...maybe not?
It's not just you:

I will get my GMail emails without manually refreshing, but rarely...
There's too many crumbs all over the place at google right now.

[Q] Is it normal for a delay in marketplace from Zune on pc to Windows Phone?

Last night I noticed a couple of new podcasts were showing in Zune on my laptop. Since I have Mango I figured I would download directly about an hour later. I went to marketplace on phone and the newest episode wasn't there. When I got up at 1 today I looked and it was finally there. So last night at 3 the podcast was on Zune but not phone. Since I went to bed I don't know how long of a delay it may have been. I have seen this before but just shrugged it off.

[Q] waiting online for help with DVP mango update

update: problem solved by itself. I unplugged the phone without letting zune finishes it and all the functions become available after 5 minutes. texts are back, twitter is added after several attempts.
hello everyone
I just received a push notification of the mango update the second time this month. this time the update is really available for the unlocked t-mo unit that I use on ATT. since my pc does not have enough space to backup all the files I decided to go ahead without backing up anything in advance. the update went smoothly until at the final step of the second installment. zune now is being showing "step 9 of 9 completing updates" for half an hour now. looks like the UI on my phone is mango's and all the apps I had are there. but the contacts and text messages are missing. (I cant even open the text message hub) and the people hub is not functioning properly - no contact - no facebook except the several friends I pined to start are shown on main screen. a notification on DVP says the update is complete but zune is still at the final step. should I wait for a couple more minutes or just disconnect it? is there anyway I can recover my text messages if I lose them? I had some backed up on my pc like 2 months ago.
any advice or suggestion is appreciated! I'm waiting for your help now for an hour. thanks!

Strange Email sync issue with multiple accouts using Samsung Omnia Win7 phone - HELP

Hi,
this is a strange question and a bizzare event thats occuring but i am hoping someone will be able to clear this up for me.
Basically i have had troubles with battery life on my windows 7 phone, its a samsung omnia on the orange network in the uk. This has ONLY been an issue since i upgraded to the Mango update last wednesday.
What i am finding is that my emails are syncing every 30mins or so despite being set to manual update only. I added 3 email accounts to my phone each via the windows live account addition option, i set them to each manually update only and only sync email not contacts/meetings etc... the mad thing is the main acount that is used under my people contact and the main hotmail/live account that is in use with the phone itself seems to stick at only updating when i tell it to sync (i have to click the refresh style sync button within the email screen) however the other two accounts after about 12hours start to go haywire and whilst they start out by syncing manual as soon as i have synced them manually once, after this they just update whenever they want too (every 30mins it appears)... i have tried a reset of the phone and starting from scratch but again eventually this flaw just keeps occuring! over and over, no matter how many resets i do
Its a real pain to be honest, when i first updated to mango i did link all the accounts together as there is an option to band all your accounts into the single hotmail livetile on the homescreen, i changed this option and decided against it, trouble is i cant remember if this issue happened then, im still pretty sure it did, its almost like the other two accounts have a mind of their own, is there any explanation as to what this could possible be?
I have tried to a rollback of my current firmware but it ended up bricking my phone so now it has gone in for a repair under warrenty to samsung, maybe it could have been a dodgy install of mango from day one? as my friend updated and he has the same phone yet hasnt experienced this email flaw, but then again he only has two accounts on his phone
Could it be the manual option no longer works in mango update?
many thanks for reading and hope someone can help, many thanks

Zune won't auto download subscribed podcasts

I have been subscribed to Tech News Today via the Zune software on WP7 and every weeknight at approximately 645PM EST a new episode goes live. Whether my phone is plugged in or not or on WiFi or not it never seems to get the latest episode. I've marked the episode I downloaded already played but it still doesn't download. I find I have to unsubscribe from the podcast, delete all previous episodes, restart my phone and resubscribe.
Does anyone else have this problem or know of a way to correct it?
Edit: the newest episode does not show in the marketplace list either until I reboot.

I have this same problem on my LG Quantum. I came intended to post this same question, but you beat me to it.
It looks like either no one know, or no one want to help. I am so disappointed with the Zune app.
I too am having the exact issue. Did anyone find a solution? I bought a windowsphone to use strictly as a Zune and the podcast feature is the prime reason. I already cant get wireless sync to work, so I was counting on the auto download over wifi while connected to charger.
You might have been better off looking for a second-hand Zune HD if you didn't want the phone functionality, but anyhow...
What's wrong with the WiFi sync? If that is a viable option for you, I'd focus on making it work first. Alternatively, just plug your phone into the computer every night.
I'm not saying there aren't solutions out there, but necroposting a thread from 3.5 months ago that didn't offer any solutions isn't a good sign.

Necropost, LOL.
Went phone route for three reasons. Cheaper $50 vs. $100+. Reason 2 , Bluetooth for bt playing in vehicle home etc. Reason 3 , I wanted to get my feet wet with Windows phone.
Wireless sync is a no go. I get error COODO7OA which gets no hits. Zune sw is on my htpc So I don't want to go to crazy uninstalling updating etc. So I found the OTA podcast sync feature in Mango and thought great just plug it in everynight and wake up with all my podcasts ! Unfortunately its seems to be broken. Some podcasts sync fine others require an unsubscribe, delete and reboot. Then resubscribe.
SOLVED
For those minor few that are in the same boat and find your way to this post, I believe I have found the issue.
Apparently the Zune checks as soon ass you plug in your device or sometime close to that. I believe the criteria is over 50% battery, wifi and 10.Minutes on charge.
The problem is once it checks it doesn't check again, and there is no way to force it other than delete podcast and all episodes reboot device an resubscribe.
So the real fix would be to be able to force it to look on command or different intervals.
What I am doing now is waiting to plug it in until after I know all my podcasts hit the servers. and then plug in. That has solved my issues. In the past I would plug it in at night early it would check, but some of my podcasts (Adam Carolla) didnt go live until after the check. So now I hook up in the morning and it pulls everything in just fine.
I understand this may not be ideal for everyone because you need the phone charging overnight, but I use my windowsphone as a bluetooth podcast player and its ideal.
TL;DR
Don't plug in your device until you know your podcasts are on the server and available for download.
Make sure phone is plugged in (dont need to wait 10 min)...then go to the podcast on the phone and click the unsubscribe button and then cancel, and then settings and confirm, it will recheck for more podcasts immediately.
