Well, heck, if HTC is stumped, I don't know what anybody here could do.
I'm running win 7 home premium 64bit and I managed to get them installed, so without more detailed information from you regarding your set-up, win version, error message, etc., I don't know what to tell you.

First, give wolf_2's suggestion above a try, if you haven't yet.
Is it the latest version of HTC sync/drivers from their site that you are trying to install? Or from somewhere else?

[app]OS Easy Launcher v3--Multilanguage-Multi OS support

Welcome to OS Easy Launcher
I have developed this app initially to launch android in a simpler manner. It now supports booting multiple OS's on your Storage card. Any issues related to the stability of android or the other OS's are not related to my app but the build of the OS itself. One of my main goals of this app is to make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible for a WM app. if you see any room for improvement let me know and I will try to make it better.
For all builds of Android and Ubuntu that will work with this app go Here
Instructions:
1. download and unzip to the root of your storage card the version of android or ubuntu from above.
2. download Android Easy Launcher and install to your phone
3. Launch easy installer and launch the build type you had unzipped to the root of your Storage Card
4. Enjoy!!
Instructions for Win 95:
1. Download here
2. extract to root of your Storage Card a
3. Run Os Easy Launcher app and enjoy!
Note: when exiting Win 95 your phone will exit to landscape mode. you will manually need to change your orientation back to portrait.
If you have any suggestions let me know. also if you are having issues let me know what build your using and if your using sense build or not as well as rom so i can make this as compatible as possible.
If your a chef and want to cook this in your app feel free to do so. if you want to be notified of when i update the app for your next rom pm me and i will give you a heads up when its ready.
UPDATE:
Video of how to put android on your phone along with using the app coming soon!!! (need to charge my video camera)
Credits:
Thank you tbdawg for the code to check if the files are on the sd card.
Updated translation for German Rom version thanks to akeos2000
For this app in other languages please see post 2!
Current app version:
v3
English
German
Norwegian
Current features:
-All Launguages-
*launches desire build still will need to run CLRCAD.exe first.(im trying to fix it so you dont have to)
*launches froyo build
*launches Windows 95
*launches ubuntu
*info selection added in menu - displays a brief info on the app in a message box
*checks if file for build is located on storage card before it launches. if the file is not found it will display a message. see images for example
*now boots both CLRCAD.exe and haret.exe for certain builds requiring CLRCAD.exe to run properly.
*now able to boot multiple builds in several locations on storage card ---- Froyo located in the Android folder, Desire located on root of storage card and Ubuntu located in the Ubuntu folder (note: app does not install the folders they are located in the current zip files from the link i posted above. just unrar to storage card basically.)
German Version:
Updated translation thanks to akeos2000
Future features:
*auto update android build
*multilanguage support
Fixes:
V3
*removed standard build of android due to the newest build of Desire gives you the option to launch with sense or without.
*replaced standard build with windows 95
*updated Background image as well as icon image
*app renamed to OS Easy Launcher
V2.5
*CLRCAD.exe for both desire build and new froyo build launch before haret automatically. if the build is not found a message will appear. This does not require a reg tweak to work.
*Now you can have the new froyo Android folder, Ubuntu folder and the desire build all be located on the storage card at once this will allow you to boot whatever version you want without having to overwrite to test the newest build.
*Updated app icon in stat menu
*updated UI again
V2
*now checks if file is located on storage card before it launches.
V1.5
*ubuntu now calls to proper folder to launch
*restored second button to boot CLRCAD.exe (only needed for desire build)
ETA of next update to app:
tomorrow most likely. working on multilingual support now.
Other Languages:
I have just translated everything in the original app. should work with foreign roms. just select the language of your app and it will search your storage card in the right language structure.
note: if you see the english version updated the foreign language version will be updated to the same build and reuploaded.
Currently Supported
*German - Confirmed Fully Working
*Norwegian - Confirmed Fully Working
Dont see your language then request it. Just let me know what they call storage card in your foreign rom!!
do i have to extract anything or jst download and launch
when i down load it and do step one an error comes up and when i do step two an error comes up and saysfailed to load file/storage card /zimage
I'm going to take a simple guess here and say you do not have a single Android file on your memory card. This is a simple shortcut program to the files that you should already have on your phone's memory card.
the app currently works best with the latest disire build 2.5. I am working on updating it for other images as i just read that some say zharet.exe so that should be resolved soon. currently you need to have extracted your latest android build to the root of your storage card then install my app and launch. I will also automate step 1 so all you will need to do is launch haret. I will be trying to get a hold of the devs and see if they would not mind if i included an update feature so you can use my app to update the build to the latest released version. Sorry i did not clarify as much earlier as i was headed to the hospital and wanted to get the thing uploaded real quick.
Well i am currently trying to finish downloading some more builds for the HD2 to test with my app. I believe i will have it set as sense build, standard build, Froyo build, and Ubuntu build. Post 1 will be updated with a new link to get any build of android for the HD2. New version to be uploaded as soon as all testing is done.
App updated to v1.5 and reuploaded. let me know if you find any issues.
Strange, but my device is held after runnig android
I have try two version of android (desired and standard)
in both cases after "init panel" command in console screen isa faded and device not respond to any actions, axcluding battary removal
May be i did some thing wrong ?
I get an error no matter what when i press either launch or run button. i have the android build stored on my storage card/root folder and extracted. what am i doing wrong?
i will make a video tonight on how to. i hope it helps everyone. sorry for the short reply about to get on a plane.
stunning m8 quite slow and the camera function inc googles doesnt work at all on my hd infact its frozen a couple of times (just using standard build) but still its good to see android on my hd2.

I am making a video to show how to setup your storage card for andriod and using the app. i will have this up in the next day just need a charge on my camera as it is completely dead. Please remember any issues with android is not due to this app but due to the build of android. The devs have done an amazing job to get us to this point in such a fast time but its really only in the stages to playing with and not really functional for daily use.

HELP,HELP!!
Hi,
I followed Yr installation instructions to the letter...The moment i launched version 1.5...& chose the standard android build...my screen went blank...though it was normal but after a few minutes nothing...I then rebooted & now none of my apps want to run except the standard apps that come with the phone...
When reboot now notification pos up saying cant run-PocketNotify!
Manilla-2.5.19211619.0
ROM-1.66.421.1 (76641)wwe
Radio-15.30.50.07U
I tried to reinstall apps just says unsuccessful!
check ur date as i noticed when u return from android to wm it gets messed up. the app only lauches the exe for you and does not touch anything else. it does not even access anything from internal memory only the storage card. i think the issues are related to the android builds themselves as i lost the htc volume skin after running haret from my storage card without my app on the phone so thats why i lean towards it being build related. but do check all ur settings.
got it working 1st try. nice work my friend. if i werent so damn broke i would donate, even if your not asking.
cheers

Whats the function of signing apk's?
Do android phone need sign apps too?
i thought only symbian requires signed apps since u'll get cert error if it isnt signed..
I dont have problem installing apk files on android b4
I'll bet other would have the same question

The Android OS will not install or run unsigned code.
If you create or modify any APK it will need to be signed before it can be installed.
If you publish to the Android Market, your APKs need to be signed to verify that they are indeed yours.
I'm assuming all the apps you have installed have previously been signed. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to use them.

Linux port is under development.

[ROM] Androot-N7p-rom for Nextbook 7 Premium

Welcome to Androot-N7p-ROM for the NextBook 7 Premium *ONLY.
I decided to change up some of the apps and generalize the rom in terms of its boot-animation screen. It runs on LauncherPro (just choose it as the "always"/default upon first instance of it. The Launcher that comes with the device isn't so great, but I left it there just in case.
It's based on the first known rooted ROM for this device: 'DocHoppy's ROM'. Credit for most of this ROM goes to him and to 'Wendal' for his toolset for packing the ROM (into cramfs) for the Nextbook 7 Premium device.
As such, it is a beta/ work-in-progress.
Androot-N7p-ROM v0.2
[ 146 MB ]
download here
Instructions:
*WARNING: FLASHING THIS DEVICE WILL ERASE YOUR DATA AND APPS!!!!*
Rename file to update.img
copy file to root of SD card.
Follow on screen prompt asking if you want to run update image.
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for bricked devices.
Here's my changes..
removed:
-youtube player <- the real youtube app is better
-explorer <- redundant
-slide me app market <- redundant now that Google's Market is installed
-quick search box <- Google Search widget is better IMO
kept/added:
-Market <- the real Google one
-root explorer - an alternative & capable file explorer
-astro file manager <- we all know it well
-quickpic 1.5.2 - a much lighter & more efficient photo organizer/viewer
-3D gallery <- some love it, some hate it
-brightness level 1.0.0 - quicker brightness changes
-ConnectBot 1.6.2 <- for those that need a SSH tool
-Officesuite full <- may as well keep it
-Titanium Backup 4.6.7 <- has some very handy tools aside from backups
-LauncherPro 0.8.6 <- may be old, but it's smooth and capable
-superuser <- because this rom is rooted
-has some of the Google Apps (go ahead and add as you see fit)
-has a custom boot animation.

Known Issue:
Apps2sd reports SU Binary out of date. Attemps to update this via superuser fails due to cramfs file system.
It's not perfect, but it does work well and I run it as my daily driver on my N7P.
Please give feedback or suggestions! I trust the pro devs could easily help me out with the little things!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410862 (dochoppy's rom)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1190990 (rooting talk? )
Since I'm new to modifying/cooking ROMs, here's my
Questions I have for the devs that cook ROMs all the time...
(lol)
Where do I edit the items that show in 'settings > about' in the device?
How do I change the default shortcuts that LauncherPro puts on the dock?
How do I change what icons are default on the home screen?
Where do I put custom wallpapers as part of the rom?
How do I modify Android UI colours?
Can the dialer be removes without losing "contacts"?
How do I create a shortcut to "contacts" without the phone/dialer?
(more to come I'm sure)
Hello, first of all, thanks for your work!
I am having trouble loading this rom. it says there's an invalid image file in my sd card and if I want to delete.
Now, I don't know if my tablet is a never or older version of what you guys have...
Next7p
2.3.1
kernel: 2.6.32.27
build: v2.0.7.....
my serial is also different from alot..it starts with YF0511
any help or tips?
In Dochoppy's original rom/post he mentions that the device will need to have a serial number starting with YF1011. That stands the same for this rom, as it's derived from his.
Having an invalid update.img firmware file could be due to a number of things, but the one I have here works on my device.
I wish I had more of an answer, but by all means try out the tools for repacking the rom.
So after messing around compiling a ROM, I forgot to add a launcher, and now I am stuck in a bootloop. After the girl in the dress is there for awhile, I get a black screen, then reboot. Anyone now how to fix this? I have been searching Google, but can not find anything yet.
Any help would be great!

I had mine half dead for a short bit until i found i could go into a low level bootloader mode and recover it. I am working on getting a the tool/images i used to recover mine uploaded and such.
Download and extract n7p_rescue_kit.zip
Reboot device using paper clip then quickly press and hold reset until you get black screen with usb plugged in
When windows wants driver give it the respective folder for your os (32bit or 64bit) from Drivers folder from the download
Run RK29update.exe if it says "Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb" on bottom you are good but if it shows "No Found RKAndroid rock usb" repeat last step.
Either flash all of the default selected items or do just system (since bootloop is in system)
Hope this helps
P.S. If you pack then unpack your custom one you can flash JUST system using the tool but be sure to use the offsets that are pre-loaded.
use a pin to push the reset button on the back to break out of the boot loop.
If after this your rom still bootloops, try putting a different update.img rom to flash, on to the sd card. Then boot into safe mode by holding all 4 front buttons after boot. the update should be found and installed after that.
Thanks!
I registered just to thank DocHoppy for all his efforts. I have a Nextbook Premium 7 I got for Christmas from Hastings, which fell into the YF09111XXXX batch. I used Wendal Chen's RK29xxImageTools_v2.1 to unpack the firmware upgrade from the nextbookusa site. I then put the Google apks, SuperUser, Rootexplorer, and re-packed it with a custom bootanimation. Because of my serial # I couldn't use DocHoppy rom without getting that "Invalid Update" error, but using their firmware seems to work.
My next goal is to find a way to get the "Accounts & Sync" into the settings! One of my apps is getting an "Error 42" which is an Android Market authentication error... however, other apps have worked without any problems so it's difficult to tell if that's the issue I'm having.

Not sure if this rom will work for you, just guessing by your serial number. If it is to work changing between roms on these tablets is very easy. Just download the image onto the root of your sdcard, rename it update.zip (not update.zip.zip) your tablet will recognize it as an update and ask if you want to proceed. If you say yes then follow the prompts and your in business!

Just go this to day and was plesantly suprised to find this rooted rom. Just wanted toy let you know that my S/N is YF12112xxxx and this rom work prefect for me (so far) Thanks for all the work you guys have done here. Also is there anyway to over clock the processor in out tabs?
Thanks for the comments thus far!
I would like to overclock this thing too, but that might be further down the road, as priority is on getting a different file-system for the /system volume.
Version 0.4 is coming next.
FYI:
There will be a larger span of time between updates on this particular rom for the N7p, because I will be using more stable conjumbles of things from other roms for this device. This rom is more of a remix or derivative than an entirely different rom.
Again thanks for all the hard work. I have a few requests. first since we cant change the Adhoc ( using wifi from another android device) on the fly with out RW access can you please add the ability to connect to adhoc wifi in the next build? Also i love google currents app but we cant use is on our device because we don't have map's installed. can that be added as well?

Most of the N7P roms out there now have Market installed and working. Why not just install these apps yourself?
I only suggest so because for the time being, the device is limited to its minimal capacity for apps without full-on apps2SD. Besides, for a tablet like this, you want to keep the system apps to a minimum and de-bloated for performance whenever possible.

[ROM] JXD S7100B ZCR v1_5 + setting [update 16 may]

this rom is only for S7100B
S7100B Zip's Custom Rom 1.5
the philosophy that underlies this first rom (do not expect miracles) is this:
If Android is not at 100% open, with the modifications of the house JXD, it is certainly less
for that cause this rom came WITHOUT any frills, so that the user choose what to have or not have on your console since the emu (not upgradeable) to app (not removable)
v1.5 changelog
-add theme faenza
-add advance task killer
-add my backup of vtl launcher settings
here is the v1.0 changes:
Based on the last official rom for JXD s7100b
- Removed ALL emulators series (since they could not raise it to update)
- Removed all serial applications to be added jxd (because there people who do not use FB Skype etc.)
- Removed serial launcher (really crappy)
-VTL.Launcher 1.6.5-added info link (ADW launcher launcher based on tablet-oriented
-FileManagerHD-added as a manager (much higher than 2 managers istallabili Series)
-Added superuser.apk
Changed clock font
changhed menu font
and that's it for now ..
The next thing I want to add (2.0) have a different boot animation, add a simple task killer, the theme for whiteware adw (if it works on VTL) default background, and another music video player
and then study how to make a backup of the settings of the launcher so who installs from scratch and restore my rom does not have to configure the home
A special thanks goes to SNESFAN and its forum: http://forum.openhandhelds.net/
Bitrider I create a custom rom for the first Android console,
to the reference point of android modding XDA
Android and the whole community
My community reference point for italian open source console users
www.OPENCONSOLE.it
BRIEF-Up Guide
1) get yourself a micro sd and put the files ZCR1.zip
2) make a backup of everything you need to save, (the new rom is really skinny)
3) Introduce the sd in the console
4) turn on the console by holding the keys POWER + MENU(the last button on the right of the 3 keys Android)
5) Wait and you will find in "bootloader)
6) Optional: make wipe of data/user
7) go to apply update from sd and start pressing the start / select
8) navigate and select ZCR1.zip and start the process
9) if all goes well should start installing the custom rom
10) when the process is finished you reboot system
you will come round to set up a launcher!
do not fear the next version will provide a backup of the settings in order to have everything already set
download: http://filesmelt.com/dl/ZCR1.zip
edit 16 may:
there is the 1.5 vers + my vtl launcher setting
download 1.5+ setting: http://www.openconsole.it/download/ZCR1_5s7100b.zip
extract on your sd card
follow the past guide
then go on vtl setting and restore setting
Thanks !

Thank you and a question
First, I want to thank you for the ZCR 1.5 custom rom. It has really been great to have an alternate to the stock firmware. I've been trying to determine how to build my own custom rom for the JXD S7100B, but appear to be missing a step somewhere.
I've constructed a ROM and created the .zip image and then attempted to sign it with signapk.jar with the typical android testkeys. However, every time I attempt to update from sdcard zip file in the recovery menu, I'm greeted with an E:signature not verified error. I've tried to create my own certificates using OpenSSL and sign with those, I've compared the ZCR 1.5 custom rom to the latest firmware update from JXD, I've even tried to simply resign the ZCR1_5.zip image with the testkeys. All attempts have failed. I've scoured the internets for as much information as I can find and I can't see any difference between what I am doing and what I am reading. I've tried executing the signapk.jar under 32-bit XP and under 64-bit Windows 7 just on the off chance that there was a precision discrepancy between the two versions of java.
I'm at a loss and would like to know if you would consider outlining the process you use to sign the .zipped image? Do you use jarsign or signapk or some other tool? Are you signing with something other than the testkey certs?
Thanks,
jkgamer

In this project u have to implement the dll as described in the How-To after u have finished this step, u can place the UI elements as described in this post. (U have also the ability to redesign all elements! If u need the bindings and behaviors let me know, i dun have them public atm. bu i'll send u my raw files if needed.)
Hope i could help u. If need help to implement this dll or my other, just let me know!

To all other, who comes here as an "End-User", if u want to test my Multi-Explorer [BETA] just let me know, via PM or simply post here.
Currently it includes the complete MVVM - described in the OP + an Windows, FTP (currently NO SFTP) and an Joomla! (The Joomla! plugin u need is also written by me in PHP (J!1.5.x - 2.5.x are Supported)) - Explorer plugin.
Just a quick question!
Does this need AndroidCtrl.dll as well?

How about a pre-compiled installer for everyone to use? Make it pop up under "Computer" tab in windows would make it perfect and seamless to use. It could laso be used by total noobs.
Please reply with a quote or mention.

Hey there,
THX for that idea! But, just atm. i dun know what u mean exactly with "...Make it pop up under "Computer" tab in windows..." - This is no C, C+ or C++ DLL, so i think it can't work native with the Windows API. Coz it's only .NET.
-
For this idea, i think, i have to rewrite the whole thing as CLR dll. - If not, i would be really happy if u can wise me the right direction!

Well, my idea was to make the device appear in here
Or you could maybe somehow do some hooks to the MTP on the device or to the driver itself to appear under computer on the screenshot. Like you can choose intrnal or external memory in MTP, but you can't see any of the files from the root directory ATM, and there COULD be a way to see a root directory the same way.
Maybe changing MTP mountpoints or something? I'm not really sure how does even the MTP works now, but that's the first thing that came into my mind about it.
Maybe another tab on the left side bar in the computer window on the screenshot with that root directory of the device?
Let me know if you would need any help. I'd be happy to help you on this
I'm out of thanks button clicks today, but I'll make sure tou thank you later

Hey there,
the idea is really great! But, we have there many issues... 1st) MTP works native so far more bad as good... Also we have (as described in the link and it's links) to reassemble the "MTP" dll our selves and we also have to patch it. - My thoughts about this problem. - That's why i try to get the MTP working via the "Windows-Management API" (!Still working on it, but not primary!)
About the MTP "hooking" or even "mountpoint switching", this is a really awesome idea! I never thought about it on this way! T H X ! - If we can get this working it will be awesome, also we dun need in this case a "Self-Coded" Explorer. Coz windows opens us all doors! - But, we have another problem, if someone try to find a device connected via MTP in an .NET environment it's (i think) impossible to enumerate the device(s). Coz, at this point we need a working MTP API which is currently not really available.
- If i get the MTP via "Windows - Management API" to work i'll let u know! -
PS: THX for u offer to help me! - i'm sure, i'll come back to it!
Regards,
Sebastian
@k1ll3r8e
I'm not entirely sure what do you mean by .NET enviroment.
As for that mountpoint hooking xposed could be a good idea of trying this out. There's anotehr problem if that would work via MTP since root is in EXT* format and that's not really readable by the PC. If you would base it on ADB then you would need modified ADBD library for that on stock roms or adb push won't work. Just a heads up on that.
If you would ever get this to work I'm sure that every android power user would be very grateful as it's a whole another level.
Good luck!
PS. Please mention me anytime you get something new or you would need any help

Hey there,
about the .NET environment, i mean devs/coder which uses C# or VB (both are .NET languages). And with this langs we have the problem, that we need in any case at 1st a working MTP interface for .NET, so that we can enumerate the connected devices and later their contents. But this is currently a big problem. Sure there where (i dun know it 100%) a few C+ or C++ MTP dll's around, but, without documentation, it's i think, nearly impossible to write an interface for such an dll.
So i'll try it with the Windows-Management API . - Currently i can enumerate my device via WMI but not it's content... I'll work on it for sure!
EDIT:
Here are a few links which helped me a lot to understand how WMI works.

I'll definitely try to dig this deeper later on. I don't see why should we support .NET enviroment. It's still going to work under windows, doesnt it? I haven't used anything that's in .NET for my device so far. (or I have no idea I did, but I doubt it)
