galaxy s 2 acting strangely, battery drain and randomly going into driving mode - General Questions and Answers

I got my sgs2 about a month ago and its been like a dream, battery lasts for a long time phone runs ultra smoothly no glitches and nothing weird has been happening, but these last few days its just been really weird.
1) it started randomly going into driving mode, i dont even know how to activate it or what it does, but i think its draining my battery
2)When i was watching a tv show on my phone it thought that there was an hdmi cable connected and wouldnt let me hear anything through my headphones. i exited it several times but it still though there was a cable connected. Then i went straight home and quit it from the task manager and it worked with the headphines but that might have been a coincidence.
3)When i connect the charger it takes a while to realize that its charging and sometimes stops charging and says that the battery is too hot or too cold but when i feel the phone it feels completely normal.
4)When i connect the usb cable, other than taking a while to realize that its connected to a charger it doesnt realize that its a usb so i cant transfer files with my computer which i do often
5)I pressed home before and it took me to some sort of clock which i imagine is for a dock but i have no such thing
6) Even after using the phone for a while and using several apps the android os has used 59% of my battery, when usually its the display that uses about 30 or 40%
none of these things had happened before and now they randomly started all at once, i havent downloaded any shady apps so i doubt its malware
any ideas?
thanks

Are you using a stock firmware or custom?
Have you tried resetting back to factory default?

seems like majority of your problems are linked with the micro USB port, try resetting your phone and see if that helps. This is weird though.
It happened once to me on my sgs but that was because I inserted the charging pin without realising it was wet but it went back to normal a few days later and I changed my charger.

i was also starting to think it would be a micro usb problem,
would a factory reset fix it?
if so how would i back up my apps so that i have the same apps with the same progress on them, is it even possible?
or should i just wait and see if it goes back to normal?

I am also having this issue now. I've tried a factory reset with no effect. The phone is now largely unusable. Did you get a resolution? If so, how?

im having the same problem too .. wish it's just a software issue!!

the problem solved itself after a couple of days, i took out the battery and left the phone alone for about a day and after it worked fine again, not sure if it was the time or leaving it without battery but its working normally again

I'm having this exact problem - phone switches into driving mode, then says MTP is connected - then it switcheds to a strange lock-screen I have never sen before. It's really strange. I flashed a nandroid backup from a few months back and still the problem is there. I'd flash back to stock and send it in - but I can't connect to Odin via USB because of the problem. Is there anyway to convert a Stock rom to a CWM flashable file?
I'm desperate to get this sorted.

Experiencing the same. Has anyone a proven solution for this?

My phone, sorted itself out - should I say my wife sorted it out - by mistake. What I think she done was hold down the home button, and then pressed the power off button together and held them untill the phone switched off. When my phone came back on again - she had somehow removed the -Exclamation Triangle of the kernel counter and removed the problems from this post - that I'd been experiencing for abouyt 5 months prior.
Go figure - I now have a SGS2 that works beautifully again and has also had any kernel counter and Custom Rom flashing notifications removed altogether. I wish I knew why this worked, as I'm sure their are many who would like to remove the Triangle without a jig.
The other option that seeemd to work for other people was to clean the MicroUSB port of the device with a dry, clean toothbrush - though this did nothing for my problem. Good luck -I know how frustrating it is.

Help Please
Guys, I am Facing the EXACT same problem.
1.Driving mode on/off automatically
2.Showing a lockscreen which shouldn't have existed on this planet.
3.Hanging up unconditionally. Have to restart phone.
4.Sudden "mtp connections" and because of that "Media Scanner"
I own a Galaxy note just 1 month old! I was so angry that i wanted to sell this. But i couldn't adapt to any other smaller screens so, guess ill try fixing this.
1.It definitely is something related to usb port (Since i cannot charge my phone, i use an external charger)
2.Took my beloved to a samsung service centre, they said phone is waterlogged and showed me the motherboard, saying"IC MIGHT be damaged"
3.Cost for repair - $200
4.Cannot afford that. I am guessing they were bluffing cause i saw the shiniest motherboard ever
5.Please fix this, or ill be stuck with a Nokia 500 !!
6.I can, however afford changing the usb connector, anyone successful with that?
Edit: Did my homework and found out that its definitely a usb port problem. Solution:Clean the usb port. Ill try try it and get back to you ppl. Oh and about 20% of the world's population is facing the same problem.
Edit(2): SOLVED!!!
1. Turn Off phone
2. Remove battery.
3.Take a Brush with hard bristles(Toothbrush/Artist's Brush)
4.Take a pin.
5.Take your own sweet 15mins to perfectly clean the micro usb port using the brush. Nicely and Tidily, give all possible strokes to flawlessly remove any dirt in there.
4.Then take your pin(Be careful here) and gently insert it into the gap between that small metallic micro slab and the bottom part of the usb Connector and gently move it up, VERY GENTLY!!!
5.Clean the battery's charging plates using a cloth, i used my own T-Shirt.
6.Put battery in and REBOOT.
7.Clean the charging pin of the charger using the safety pin/Brush or both.
I have it on for 15mins and no problems. Removed and put the charger again and again, still no problem. After waiting for 1 week, i am able to charge it using its charger! Now lets see whether it lasts......:-/
Edit(3): So, my phone acted up again last night, with driving mode and car dock. I used the pin solution, No problem till now. its Peacefully charging. Bah! it really is annoying
Edit(4): Now, its been 24 hours since my last solution, and phone hasnt acted strange. I guess after another 12 hours ill rule out the permanent solution. Which i used.

same here
Well.. I'm having similar issue. Battery drain and random driving mode/voice search sometimes. It all started after last OTA update and rooting without changing a ROM to custom. I've clean out USB port and no result. Maybe it's time to scan system with AV or unroot device...

I had the same issues 2 weeks after i bought my galaxy s2. Took it to Samsung customer care and they replaced the micro usb port. Haven't had a single issue since.
PS: Try to dry out the port and the phone if it is a water logging issue. I used a hair drier to do that. Luckily the tab that indicates water damage hadn't changed colour.

Had same issue with my Samsung Galaxy Note - randomly going in and out of driving mode, used a dry, soft toothbrush to clean out the USB Charging port, so far so good.
Make sure to flick the bristles of the toothbrush back and forth with your thumb first as you might see a lot of dust fly off of it.
Don't use anything hard like a pin or needle as you might scratch the contacts.

Same here with my gs2... Resolved the issue using some contact spray on my micro USB port.

It's just a software problem, the reasons might be:-
1) you might have opened and closed some huge apps randomly and very rudely..
2) You are low on space on the internal MMC Card
3) Your phone might be performing the restarting apps re scheduler
Solutions:-
1)Factory Data reset will not help as the cache section might be corrupt.. neither the android 3e will help...
2) a)Use odin and download the Latest firmware package from Sammobile's Website.
b) for tutorial on flashing, go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488942.
c) Do not touch the phone after processes and restart was observed...
d) Again get into download mode and re flash the same Firmware again...
e) Restart the phone holding the HOME key, (it won't do anything by itself)
f) it will surely fix your Phone
3) Message me if any problem persists...

[Q] power down bug?

hey guys.
i just want to know if you guys can replicate a problem i found and see if the problem i have is isolated or not.
so i've been charging my phone today and noticed that when i try and power down the phone while it is charging, the phone hangs at the shutdown circle and freezes.
when i unplug the charger (wall charger), then the phone immediately turns off.
at first i thought it was because of low battery ( i ran the phone until it died).
then i thought it was because i had no wireless connection (was in building-no signal).
when there was enough juice, i shut down the phone (not charging this time) and the phone powers down.
if this has been already covered, i apologize...
sorry for the bad grammar/punctuations. im feeling lazy. lol

defective NS?
My phone powers down while plugged in just fine. I just checked for you.
It takes about 30 seconds of the spinning shutting down message, then the screen switches to the battery charge icon for a few seconds, then the screen goes black.
A quick press (don't hold) of the power button brings back the battery charge icon for another 10 seconds or so.
Thanks for the reply. What is weird is that I tried the test at my local best and their demo phone was exhibiting the same thing. Maybe I'm not letting it shut down long enough.
okay, i've powered down again while charging. stuck on power down screen.
been over 2 min.
looks like i'm replacing this today.
anyone else want to chime in on this?

Since you're going to have to do a factory wipe/reset for privacy/security to exchange the phone anyways, can I suggest that before you assume the phone is bad that you perform a factory reset on it and then test again?
For all we know, you've got some rogue app that is causing the problem. I'd hate to see the NS returned as bad hardware when it might possibly just be bad software you've installed...

exactly what i plan on doing. gonna do a factory reset first.
But i think it will still happen because the demo unit at bestbuy was a clean install with no apps on there.
But i will update as soon as i restore!
thanks distorted!
wanted to add that when i shut down the phone while it was usb connected to the comp, it shut down properly and i saw your battery icon you were mentioning.
edit:
now i tried other wall plugs, usb cords and such and it all shuts down.
very weird.
It looks like it was the micro usb charger that i was using that was the problem.
I was using one that came with my blutooth charger.
I double checked all the information of the BT plug and compared with the ones that worked. the bluetooth cable was rated a .7 amps (just like the one that came with the nexus s). other cables were rated at 1 amp (which shut down the phone fine).
oi! saved me the trip to best buy.
i tested before and after factory reset.
all good except for the BT charger.
I can confirm that this is an issue. I have a spare micro-usb cable, and when I connect that to the computer, it charges fine, but the usb-debugging or usb-drive options never appear.
While it's in this state, and I go to shut down, the Power off - Shutting Down... screen will in fact freeze until the USB cable is unplugged. It does not do this with the stock usb cable.
When this "bad" cable is used with the stock wall charger, the same thing happens.
Hmmm... I wonder what can be causing this. Anyone else have this happening?
My best guess is that maybe there's something different with the pins and they are shorting/not aligned right in some cables.

that is what im thinking.
at least i know my NS isn't defective!

Screen doesn't respond when plugged in wall charger.

Yesterday I missed a call because screen didn't respond on touch, I was blaming on tithering (which by the way had rebooted phone twice today), but today I've noticed when this happens and I unplug the phone, it instantaniosly fixes the screen (and buttons as well), plugging it back in, freezes it. Was playing with it for a minute just to make sure..
Anyone experiencing anything like this?
P.S.
Installed "CPU Guage" which shows cpu load in real time in tasks bar, I can see the numbers changes but nothing above 30%, so it wasn't CPU overload
i haven't had that, until about 2 minutes ago. funny this was posted just now, i just logged in to post about it, lol. but my phone has been fine, until just now. i plugged it in and when to change it to mass storage mode and it wouldn't respond. then it was kind of weird when it started responding. it eventually worked, but took a couple of swipes.
---------- Post added at 06:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:37 PM ----------
i also notice that when unplugged, i get around 44-45 linpack, plugged in, around 35
Nope, just tested it, plugged to the wall I could answer a call normally.
it might be because of short circuit, check ur charger or charge with another charger or cable see if it happen again.
I have it too. Anytime its plugged in it will be super laggy and/or freeze.

I haven't seen this issue on the Atrix 2 yet, but both my Samsung Moment and Samsung Epic would have screen responsiveness issues while plugged in, so it is behavior I have seen in other Android devices.
I havent had this problem. When I go to bed I put my phone on the charger, wall type, and will usually mess around on the phone for a little while before setting it down for the night. Not once has it given me this problem.

I don't have this problem all the time either, it happened only twice in two days. Just now checked it again - no problem whatsoever...
Perhaps if we trace what is running and/or what was running before this happens, we could figure something out.
Today I was using pandora, sportypal (which by the way consumes 40% cpu at times, on Atrix 4G never had this problem) and then after these two apps where closed I used mobile hotspot.
On background two apps are always running: battery cyrlce and nettraffic (there are many more apps started but they seems to be inactive, like skype which doesn't log me in automatically)
Oh and it could make difference, I use ADWLauncher EX
I don't have any of these problems. Get up every morning and check missed calls, emails, texts and FB notifications all while being plugged into the charger. Had someone call me and I answered it on speaker phone to make sure I didn't have any problems receiving a call while plugged in either
No problems so far, but I am completely stock. Phone was purchased on the Nov. 11th
wow, just had it happen.
Don't have this problem either but I am completely stock also.

I don't seem to have this problem in the morning either, I notice it at about 11am - 1pm
Today I've killed every apps that was running (excluded services), but it didn't help at all. I still suspect mobile hotspot though, it doesn't work properly...client's get disconnected, then would not able obtain IP.
OEM charger and cable only
Make sure you are using ONLY the OEM charger and OEM cable to charge your phone. They provide an extra ground path not normally supplied which is needed by your capacitive touchscreen to function normally. A "normal" micro USB cable or USb charger does not provide this.

I have a charger by my bed, a charger in my work van, a charger at my desk at work and a charger on my pc....of all those, only the one by my bed is the oem charger and the oem cord, my phone works perfectly on all of them.
Ok, it has nothing to do with the type of charger, it even happens when connected to PC as storage or charge only. Changing cables also have no affect.
Me too

I had this happen A LOT! Happened almost always with one particular charger, rarely happened when hooked up to computer USB port. Never happened in car using Griffin iPad car charger.
This was one of the frustrating things about the phone for me. Just sold, and have Galaxy Note on the way.
Hey people I have this similar issue... was searching xda for anything like this but seems this is the only place there is some issue like this happening...
I have a Galaxy S2 Running Cyanogen7 ...
Now here's what IV noticed... on stock charger I have no issues at all... nor when plugged into the PC... just today it happened and I was using a iPhone charger with a OEM Samsung USB cable... it was charging fine but the screen just wouldn't respond... as soon as unplugged would be fine... so... I'm thinking it's this charger maybe giving too much power to the phone... as my stock charger is 750ma while the iPhone one is 1A... that's the farthest IV been able to think... :s

I've owned this phone for roughly 36 hours. I noticed last night (which is the first night owning the phone) that when the phone is charging, it doesn't seem to acknowledge my finger touching the screen. Since the phone was new, the only apps downloaded at the time were:
Lets Golf 2
Angry Birds
Tiny Bee Demo and,
AVG Anti-Virus
Things to note:
I did download the 3 games before the anti-virus program, so the possibility of a virus is there, but not likely.
I also didn't delete any apps or change any major settings that might cause the problem.
One other odd thing I noticed, I was in the middle of a text when I plugged in the charger, and that somehow made it insert a letter. I thought it was odd so I made sure it wasn't me touching the screen and tried it again, and it typed two other random numbers.
I hope this helps somebody somewhere find the fix to this problem... :cool
Edit: I have an Atrix 2

#1 if you are downloading trusted apps, you don't need an anti-virus
#2 uninstall the anti-virus because you don't need it and it's a system resource hog

[Q] [i9023] Water damage - USB won't connect to PC.

Hi there,
My Nexus S (i9023) phone recently fell into a water bucket and I immediately pulled it out.
Not much damage was done to it except of one thing: after I put it in a bag of rice like stated on the internet for overnight, and then plugged it in again to the charger, it seems like something was different.
When I plug the phone to the AC power - phone DOES charge, but nothing else happens.
It doesn't turn on screen and informs "charging", and doesn't have the "charge when phone is off" option anymore. Instead it would just turn the phone on.
Also, when connecting the phone to the computer nothing happens, it's just charging the phone! can't mount USB anymore
I took the phone to a lab which handles these cases. They replaced the USB port and cleaned all the corrosion. They said it's fixed now, and indeed the USB port is new.
But then after coming back home it's still the same.
I'm sick of being dependant on other people and would like to fix it myself.
Any clue which part of my phone was fried? Where can I get it?
Thanks!
-zeek
Are u rooted?
Try a different ROM. Maybe one ur ur backups.
If it still does connect then it has to be the ROM assuming ur computer has the proper drivers still.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S 4G
Thanks!
Thank you!!!
Problem solved after I loaded one of my backups.
Any explanation to that? even when the phone was turned off it couldn't charge it in off mode and now it can.
How come it's a software issue?
Thanks!
I can only guess that ur ROMs kernel had a "fast charge" option. If so this doesn't allow computer connection. How it got switched to that option... who knows .... maybe the sudden power surge.
If not that, then ... strange things happen when a phone get wet.. the sudden power surge could have changed the power output causing CPU adjustments... who knows.
I'm just happy it worked for u.
I'd recalibrate ur battery asap.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S 4G
Hi, the same thing happened to me, only it wasn't a bucket, it was a pool, and changing the ROM didn't work (I've flashed at least three different ROMs since then, kind of hard when the USB port doesn't work but eh, what can you do).
Also, it's on a Gio, not a Nexus S, but the principle should still be the same, yes?

Nexus S shows charging on the lockscreen when disconnected from charger

Hello folks,
I have a Nexus S running Stock 4.0.4 and it shows charging on the lockscreen along with the charging battery icon even after hours of being disconnected from the wall charger.
If i check under the about phone tab in settings and check under phone status, it shows discharging.
I tried wiping the battery stats and reverted to official stock ROM again after wiping everything completely from adb.
I tried moving to different versions of Android OS, namely 2.3 and 4.1.1, and it shows the same thing.
Sometimes, when i power off and power on the phone, this goes off. But when i connect th phone to the laptop, the mount SD card immediately comes up, but the phones starts charging only after a couple of seconds. And then it still shows as charging even after removing.
It looks to he hardware issue...any ideas???
clean the micro usb port with a tooth brush that should help some i have a ns that does this, it works and charges fine
I had that happen quite a bit a few months back. I haven't had it happen since switching to CM9 though. Pretty sure its just a visual bug. Reboot makes it go away.
Let me try both the things...let me clean it and comletely wipe the phone and install CM9 just to check if it works better..
One more thing....if i remove the battery and connect it after a couple of minutes. Without me powering it on, the screen wakes up and shows the charging animation even if i haven't connected to any charger.
I think you got a defective USB port..mines was like that too before...the only way is to send it back to samsung
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
Unless its completely different from what happened to me... its NOT defective! Mine has COMPLETELY stopped doing this behavior since being on CM9...
you shouldnt need to send it in, the phone still charges and discharges the same it maybe is some reporting bug or error or something, more than a few nexus s has had this and still work fine

also i think it has something to do with my micro USB port...as when i start the transfer of files from my laptop to phone, it stops for a sec and starts again..
Hello All...i fixed the issue....i guess i was using different microUSB chargers all the time...
i noticed that the metal slab inside the microUSB slot was very close to the bottom...so i took a needle and pushed it properly towards the top...now the metal slab is exactly in the middle...and the charging crazy stopped immediately...
make sure u do it when the phone is off and the battery removed...
i figured where's the harm in doing this as Note 2 is releasing shortly
jokes apart..please bend it slowly towards the top and the issue is resolved.
Hi mate, try another kernel.

I did that...i went to stock gingerbread...then stock ICS and then to stock JB....ofcourse wiping everything through adb along the way....tried CM9 RC2 too..
the thing is even when the phone is switched off...the screen wakes up immediately and shows the charging animation...when its unplugged...
Battery charging animation even after disconnecting the charger (SOLVED)

Thanks...This tricked work for me too on my S2 this morning....I think I did not had the charger removed properly and the animation went crazy... I thought kernel related problem (I had tried TWRP version of Sammy Apolo 4.14 on freshly flashed ROM) and flashed compatible Philz kernel but did not work...I also did a dirty flash of my ROM but to no success....I switched off the phone but even when switched off, the charging animation came and went and when I tried to reboot the phone, I couldn't...So I even tried removing battery for about 5 minutes and placed it back, it finally booted but with animation still going bang bang.... and I then I went crazy...I have read about the toothbrush cleaning trick but before doing so I looked at the usb port but was not much sure what to do.. I thought it had bent a bit but after I saw your post, I immediately took out a needle and bent it slowly in upward direction and that was done ...However, I forgot to take off my battery before doing so but guys, its always safe to take it out to avoid any problems..... :good:
So the moral, please take care while using your usb port....

P6810 suddenly won't turn on

Anyone come across this? I put it on standby last night after reading a bit of my book on it, and it had around 50% power remaining. This morning, it was totally unresponsive; pressing the power button does nothing at all. I've charged it for 12 hours in the meantime.
I've done the following all with and without the power attached:
- Pressed and held power for 15 seconds through to a minute
- Pressed and held volume up with power to attempt to get into recovery for up to a minute
- Pressed and held volume down with powerfor up to a minute
- Pressed and held power while touching screen (read that one off another forum)
I guess potentially it could be on and in a crashed state and unresponsive to the power, so maybe in a weeks time when it runs out of juice, I'll be able to charge it and power it back up, but in the meantime, I'd welcome suggestions.
A few weeks ago I updated it to the official ICS build that was released, but did the update myself rather than using KIES, as KIES didn't even recognise my Tab's firmware original version. It's been absolutely fine before the update, and since. I only mention it because I've read about the Samsung build of ICS being prone to self bricking itself, but I couldn't determine what the symptoms of this vulnerability were.
Thanks for any help offered,
Will
did you try connecting USB cable and plugging it into your PC? did u get any activity? can ADB recognize your tab?
I think your tab just ran out of juice and the battery's protection circuit has kicked in. Try taking it to an electronic shop and plugging in different chargers preferably one with an output more than 2.1 amps to kickstart the charging. Plug it in and wait till the charging animation starts.

Had the same problem while on holidays. Once the battery goes below a certain level, you won't be able to charge it through USB any more. Instead you need to use the wall charger.
I think it's bad enough that the 7.7 doesn't have a micro USB port, but things like that are just stupid and Samsung made a big mistake here. It don't think it's the same with the newer tablets though. It's also not possible to just buy cables or chargers for this strange Samsung port, so when you forget your wall charger at home at some point you won't be able to use your tablet any more.
As long as you charge with the USB cable early enough, you can avoid it though.
A few months ago I experienced the same thing, the Tab just wouldn't turn on anymore.
I tried all there is without any luck.
Contacted amazon and they replaced it with a new one in less than 48 hours.
So far not Problems with the new device.
I have the P6800 and this morning I took it off charge. Put it into standby and only used it for about 20 mins then left in standby all day. It had about 95% remaining when I did so.
Picked it up this evening and the lower left area of the screen was warm and it would not switch on. Didn't think of the ADB idea but will try this next time but I had to reset it and when it powered on tonight after the reset, it was down to 15%. Within about 2 mins of checking stuff it was down to 3%.
Something is running when it is in standby but as I can't switch it on I can't check with BetterBatteryStats or CPUState to know what is wrong.
It does this every day. I am tempted to do a factory reset and reinstall only limited software.
Dave...
I see this thread is a little old but this has just happened to my P6810 too. A pity nobody reported back what the end result was.
My device had at least 95% battery last night but today I can't get it to respond at all, I've tried the wall charger and still nothing.
Anything else someone could suggest for me?
Edit. I tried getting anything from it connected to my PC but it couldn't find a device there. However I then tried it on the wall charger again and now get a blue battery icon, quite big, with a five step animation indicating that it is charging.
No idea how it went flat as the battery on this lasts a long time assuming the screen isn't on. When it boots properly I'll have a look at what the most recent apps I installed were as it has only done this once. Before this it has been perfect for the three weeks I've had it.

This is the infamous Sleep-Of-Death issue that is randomly experienced by myself and other users here, usually happens when WiFi bugs out due to weak signal

hhmmm, interesting.
I was having trouble with wifi just before this happened. Both my GS2 and this have been claiming to connect to my wifi but aren't actually getting an IP address from it.
I can't remember if it was last night or the night before but I manually set an IP address, the signal strength is fine as my abode isn't very big.
After it has recharged I'll have a poke and see what I can find, thanks for the reply.
So my device seems to be working fine again. It had gone SO flat that the date and time were incorrect!
After I could power it on I had a look at Better Battery Stats and nothing looked wrong so I have no idea what happened. None of the apps I'd installed the day before it played up had long wakelocks and weren't running when I turned it off.
For reference they were:
My Tracks
MyTrails
Google Earth
AndSMB
I'd turned both of the GPS tracking devices off before I turned it off for the night.
It hasn't played up since but it hasn't been long so I'll see what happens.
Yeah, the sleep of death is incredibly annoying. Honestly, the GTab 7.7 is a **** device. Samsung made way too many mistakes and won't do anything to fix it.
A similar thing happens to me every once in awhile. The way i check to make sure everything alright is to see if it boots into download mode. I just leave it plugged in for a couple hours and it eventually comes back on.

this is why my 7.7 is the last tablet/phone from Samsung i'll never trust them they are just bombarding the market with new devices and leaving the old ones to dust
^thats what I thought too but that gs4 is really tempting. I've heard worse about HTC in that regard anyways so that why I'm not going with the one.
Finally.. i bought Sony xperia Z.
I'll sell my galaxy tab 7.7. I.m very disappointed with samsung.

Unbelievable! ... this trick still works ... thank you very much for you help ...
^^ yo, this 'trickle charge' trick did NOT work on my (long) dead P6800... any other suggestions??
Quite strange because my Samsung GT-P6800 tablet was fully charged, it went completely blank dark as if it was off. To my amazement, SMS keeps dropping and calls kept coming in. Yet it is still as blank as though the tab was off. I pressed the power button and the volume up bottom for it to reboot. It rebooted without the screen coming up. It has been blank for two days now. What could be the cause? And what possible solution can be given?
