Does anyone know how to mod this thing? Or at very least get thee google apps n market working

Attached is some picks of the internals of the tablet, if that'd help any...
I have been able to root using z4root. Figured the button combo for bootloader, but as it's booting to recovery it gives me an error in chinese and restarts, booting to OS
Sent from my HTC HERO cyanogen7 2.3.4

I got the same Kudee about a week ago in HK and I was able to rooted it with z4root too. When I keep pressing the 'home' + 'return' buttons while powering up the tablet, it go through the recovering process sucessfully without errors.
From your pics, I can't see the usual internal micro sd card slot found in other tablet so you can upgrade the internal storage. I was hoping to upgrade the rom from 2G to 8G.
Also, I was trying to dump the firmware using dd but no luck coz I still couldn't figure out the device name used under directory /dev.

[Q] Backuping a chinese brand phone

I recently bought a chinese brand phone but the stock ROM is ****ty and is full of lies.
It supposed to have android 4 on it, but I'm pretty sure it isn't. It not only looks and reacts totally different but many aps give parse errors when installing. It's pre rooted and has Antutu pre-installed. but I'm unable to update Antutu because it always keeps using the version that was preinstalled. Antutu claims this:
model: X315e
CPU: Qualcomm snapdragon MSM8660
CPU model: ARMv7 Processor rev 2 (v7l)
CPU freq: 1024.00 MHz MHz (yes... 2x MHz)
Android version: 4.0.6
Build nr: X315e DuakCore 1.5GHz 1GB RAM+1GB ROM
Kernel : Linux version 2.6.35.7 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #5 PREEMPT Tue May 19:07:25 CST 2012
I'm not sure how much of this that can be trusted, since I know the phone has less Ram that stated.
What I want to do is find out how to backup the stock ROM, and maybe find a custom ROM that works on it.
The seller clams it runs on a MTK6575, I found out that powering it up while holding down the volume up key gets it in recovery mode. But it only shows a picture to state that it can't find a recovery rom. I have to take out the battery to get back to a normal phone.
Any help here would be appriciated.
Summing up:
- How to install a recovery rom
- How can I make a decent backup of the rom
I managed to make a decent backup with a Russian program called mtkdroidtools.
That program also tells me that the processor isn't a MT6575 as claimed by the shop, but a MT6573 instead.
I kinda expecting this already, but it really bursts my bubble in hoping to get ICS on it.
Next thing I need is a recovery.img. After making a search for MT6573 I stumbled on this thread:
[AIO][TUT] ClockworkMod recovery for any MT6573/ 75/ 77
It explains how to make a clockworkMod img for MT65xx. I have been at it all day yesterday. It uses Cygwin and then either perl script or "Android Kitchen".
I've tried the perl scripts first. Unpacking was no problem, but when repacking it uses "Switch". The "switch.pm" module was removed from perl recently so it doesn't work. I tried changing the script to use other switch like functions but it keeps throwing me errors. (maybe someone with an older version of perl can get me a "Switch.pm")
Then I tried the "Android Kitchen" plugin. This one seems to run fine, and finishes without an error... but I can't find an output recovery.img anywhere.
I would contact the writer of that thread, but since I'm a noob to this forum I'm not allowed to.
So if anyone can help me with any of these issues then please do.
I'll be very grateful
I just had an epifanie, I was thinking I could just make a script without the switch in it, for now I only needed it to repack the recovery anyway.
So I hardcoded the script to only repack recovery images and that was it. everything works fine!
I would like to thank all those who were interested in helping me.
If anyone can still get me the switch.pm then please do. I can still use it.
And if anyone has a good place to start looking for roms that might work on my phone then that would be helpfull too.
Thank you XDA and thank you yuweng, I already thanked you in your thread but you deserve a second one

[Q] ZEKI TBD1083B 10" Tablet - Fully Rooting & GAPPS

FYI:

ZEKI
Model Number: TBD1083B
Android version: 4.1.1
Kernel version: 3.0.8
Build number: 20130117
On the back panel
FC QWK109R-TBD1083B
FID : BN
=====================
Already downloaded gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip to my PC.
Would like to fully root it and install such as SU, Avast, ClockWorkMod aka ROM Manager (For backups and restores), and ADAWAY
My other tablet is the original Nook Color running CM7 so I'm familiar with flashing ROM's and GAPPS.
My main beef with this tablet is booting into recovery is not all that easy using the Power & Volume route. Is it hold down the power and volume keys at the very same time or is it press and hold down the volume key during boot? Whatever I try it either does noting at all and stays off or fully boots home.
It's my thinking I can rename gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip to update.zip and go the Settings - About tablet - System updates route. To fully get System Updates checks to automatically work I need to have a microSD card installed YES?
The one main program I've already installed and need running with root access is AVast. I can't get the Firewall section running otherwise. Posts I've read claims it's already fully rooted from the factory.
Use the same method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207394
I have the tbd1083b and I have crystal root installed but I can't get the recovery screen to recognize the zip file. I've tried a few different ways including direct connect to PC through USB mass storage and downloaded to SD. Also I've downloaded the Google play store apk and it won't open. I have Google frame work on tab that came stock. Its hard to find info on this thing so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

[Q] JXD P1000 Android 4.1 - Any root method ?

Hello Xda team!
I post my first message to go with the purchase of my first Android tablet!
I have been tempted by a JXD P1000 with the following characteristics:
-Cortex A9 2x1.2GHZ
-Capacitif led screen IPS 1024x600 1080p
-Android 4.1 Jelly bean
-Internal memory 8 Go
-External memory 32 Go
-1 Go RAM
-Wifi B/G/N
-Bluetooth
-Front and rear camera 0.3 and 2mpxl
-3G
-GSM
-GPS
I have chosen to read books and to replace my old phone with something new.
However, I come with a lot of questions!
I like to customize what I have, and the first thing I want is to remove embedded applications origins.
I read on the internet "you must have root access", but I have not found a tutorial on google for this new tablet.
I'm pretty novice but I know fend me, which way I must choose for root this unknown tablet?
In advance thank you very much, and have a day!
(Sorry for my approximate English, I'm french)
Hello,
You can find more informations on this tablet here : h ttp://w ww.jxd.hk/products.asp?id=632&selectclassid=009008 (remove spaces)
Thanks in advance,
root for JXD P1000
I have posted about my JXD P1000s at GSM phone arena forum. Google it as I'm not allowed to post a direct link here. I rooted my JXD P100s but this might work on your JXD P1000. My post at GSM forum will direct you back here at xda developers for the rooting tool I used called Vroot version 1.6-updates to 1.7 when you install it, which successfully rooted the P1000s and enabled me to delete all installed programs I didn't need. You will need to connect JXD to computer, the rooting tool installed drivers for me in windows XP which are needed to connect the phone to the computer, look at other posts here regarding that if you need to. I kept the stock factory ROM since everything works fine with it. Note at JXD's website there are two different downloadable versions of the factory ROM for the two JXD "phablets" we are discussing here in case you need it, the P1000 and the P1000s are not the same and need different firmware if you need to re-install that. I did not need to re-install a new ROM or the original factory ROM, just rooted. I could find nothing else that rooted the JXD, this method might be only thing that works on yours also and I tried everything I could find. Good luck, the improvement on mine is definitely noticeable, if only that it gave me more usable phone memory by deleting the factory installed Chinese apps I couldn't use. Yours has more memory so this might not be an issue 512K for P1000 vs. only 256K for the P1000s is noticeable. the P1000 has built-in GPS and 3G, the P1000s only 2G and no GPS and a nicer finish IMO. The OS are supposedly the same, Jellybean Android 4.1 Hope this helps.

Nobis 9" Internet Tablet (Model NB09) - Custom ROMs?

Hello,
I've had this Chinese knock-off tablet running Android 4.1.1 for a few years now. I haven't really used it, since it doesn't have enough installation space, even though it says there is over 5 GB of space. However, I was able to root it the other day using the KingoRoot tool, and change the install location to my SD card using a terminal emulator. I would like to also add a custom ROM to my tablet, to allow for added customization, but I have found very few resources online covering this tablet. Are there any compatible ROMs from other devices that could work on this device? I apologize if this a bit of a newbie question, as I am relatively new to Android modding/rooting.

MediaTek T906 Tablet(Made in China!!)

Good Evening All(or whatever time it may be there),
I'm new to XDA and Rooting, etc. etc. I purchased a MediaTek T906 Tablet(Made in China!!). After I received it and charged it, the first thing noticed it wasn't allowing some apps to download and install. Keep in mind this is suppose to be Android 9 and 512Gig 8Gig ram device.
Below is what MTK Droid Tool v2.5.3 says about it(and yes I Root it, am fully aware that it voids warranty):
Hardware : MT6582 (MT6797 is Fake!)
Model : T906
Build number : T906_vEN52S2_TB_20191205
Build date UTC : 20191205-085910
Android v : 9.0
Baseband v: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V54, 2018/01/02 15:01
Kernel v : 3.4.67 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.7 (GCC) ) #1 SMP Thu Dec 5 16:56:01 CST 2019
Too root(successfully)it I used KingoRoot and Got SuperUser Status/Privileges. I did a lot of reading on root and other root apps(to be used in conjunction with). Long story short, I'm trying to get a specific app to download to this tablet and am not sure how to go about it. I did the dump data/cache thing in Play Store and Google Play Services and reboot. Didn't work. Did all the steps before I root the device. I even used Root Essentials Editor to mod the device name and manufacturer, that didn't work. And the time zone is set to right time zone. So, I'm making this post asking for some guidance and/or help on what I can do? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
I am in the same situation as the previous poster with the same Version, Kernel, Baseband, Build and my experience with this should be considered at a beginner's level. In researching this and came across a post that indicated that the tablet is not actually Android 9.0 but suspected to be KitKat. Please, if anyone knows how I could get this setup with Android Oreo, I would be grateful.
Hi guys,
just got the tablet too, it also seems to me it has this config:
- MT6582
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB Storage
- 1280 * 800, 7.19" display
- Android 4.4
Not sure what options there are, but I hope there are some newer Android builds that would work on this?
I'm following
So far....
I have been successful in rooting my device and hope to find a ROM that will move it up to a level that will allow KODI -Leia to be installed. I will let you know what my findings are. I'm just afraid as I don't want to brick the device.
Hi guys . Same problem. But. Works to me. Go in accounts remove account. then try loggin again.
uncheck all boxes. Unynchronize the two options in the account. Agenda and contacts. Deselect the check options. If it doesn't work restart and turn off the wifi. then rewire. Do it again. good luck
A brother in distress
I've got the exact same issue with my T906 Mediatek. I downloaded the Root app (Thanks!) and kept trying to get the things to load and run. I'm specifically having the issue with Alexa app. I can find it but I get that the app isn't compatible. It runs on my Samsung phone that's running A9.0. It keeps saying the app is already installed, yet it isn't . I went into the Play Store and Play Services apps and deleted the updates and caches as suggested on YouTube. No difference. I'm sort of at a "What Now!?" POINT.
Any help would be appreciated.
Be safe out there and for goodness sake, wear your masks until this crap is beat.
The REAL OldGeezer
you can't upgrade generic android devices until version 9. Android 9 seperates the drivers with the treble abstraction layer allowing you keep the drivers and upgrade the rest. The T906 has android 5.11. If you run CM lite scan you will see a huge Opera beta file that is always 3 times your storage. This is how they fake the RAM and ROM sizes. If you take off the back and look at the board you will ussually see printed on the board 1GB ram 16GB rom. They have also faked the CPU by using the ROM for the upspec version with better camera, screen resolution and CPU which uses the same drivers. Thus these are also falsely reported. Sadly Google no longer supports android 5 for things like Google sheets so your apps will soon stop upgrading. I love this machine because the screen size makes it cheap for 50 USD
Help to get ROM image to restore same model
I have the same model but when trying to get root access managed to brick it. I have got SP Flash working and managed to get some T906 firmware on it so I get the Mediatek logo and battery charging symbol on screen however the boot options i.e. Fastboot etc just gives an error message when selecting any of them.
I've got a development background but new to Android and scatter files but is it possible for anyone on this thread with the exact same model to help get back to a working system? I assume there is a way to back it all up using SP Flash ?
hi everyone are in the same problem boot error !!!
how to solve it I have tried in all ways but I find myself as soon as I turn it on boot error !!!! you can not even go into recovery?
Help!!!
These manufacturers need to be found and dealt with cause they are robbing customers. They are giving fake specifications. They need to be sued asap.
I got a Mediatek tablet and try put it in recovery mode and now I got black screen with blue bar with SIM and Chinese Characters. Any way to fix it
Hali!

Hello guys.
I have a different problem with my T906. It works fine and it is fast and reliable but I had problems downloading apps from the Google Play Store. When I checked it said that the Device is not certified under the Play Protect Certification. I remembered that it came without the Google Play app and I installed from another APK store (apkmirror.com) and it installed without issues. I've tried to download another Google Play app but can't find the correct match for my version and OS (64-bit - Android 8.1).
Any help will be truly appreciated.
I've just created a dump of this tablet with flash tool, maybe you can try to revive yours
