How to add the TTF fonts Calibri and Wingdings on my Android Tablet to use them with my email client (TouchDown for Tablet, GMail, Windows Hotmail, etc) and any of my Office (Documents to Go, Polaris, QuickOffice HD, etc)?
Help me please

It won't work in all of your apps because some of them are hard coded to use a specific font. I've done the below with Polaris to install a bunch of fonts not previously present on the device. It works well.
Any font that you want to add to the system is pretty easy though if you're rooted:
adb remount
adb push <fontfile> /system/fonts/
Done

I think I've searched the forum pretty well, but i still can't find out how to add a start menu item to my HTC Fuze (Touch pro) gmail client (which is a java app). I've seen in other threads how to set up gmail with the native email client on the phone, but i'd like ot use the actual java gmail client without having to navigate from start menu -> java -> gmail. how do i do this?
also, how do i set the client so it's signed? it always asks me for permission to access the internet when i want to refresh or send a message. how can i sign gmail so it doesnt ask this?
thanks!
first of you ned to uninstall gmail from your midlet manager and then goto its directory and then into the appdb subdir and note the LAST "suite" file (they have a number after them) and then reinstall gmail and then go back to the appdb folder and note the NEW suite file made and then make a duplicate of any lnk in the start menu and then go into its properties and change the location to this
"Storage Card\Program Files\JBed3dMod\Jbed.exe" -run s69_"
of course adjust the above path to MATCH your midlet managers location AND THE SUITE NUMBER
any problems pm me as i will probably forget i posted here
Where can I find the midlet mannager?I installed some java apps and I don't know how to access them again!

Well, most would likely has the word Java in the Start->Program. If you use cooked rom, it might be moved to other folder in Start->Program.
Great thanks! Just FYI to other readers: since gmail was the first midlet i installed (and i'm running ROMEOS latest which starts out with no midlets installed) then in the \windows\appdb folder there was only one suite file set to choose from (a bunch of files all starting with s1_). Thus, I created a link in the "\windows\start menu" folder with following line in the properties (including the quotation marks)
"\Windows\jbed.exe" -run appdb\s1_"
It worked! now when i click this item in the start menu, it brings up gmail. If only i could change the icon...
What about the signing problem? Whenever I refresh Gmail's inbox or try to send an email, it asks me if i'm okay with it being "untrusted". I've found other posts that explained how to use the native email client with Gmail, but I'd like to get the java gmail client to work without the repetitive questioning. How can we tell the phone to let the Gmail midlet do what it wants? (i know i know...i'll go read the wiki

Here's how to deal with the 'trust' issue with Gmail in Java from an article on pdaphonehome.com regarding the Opera Mini midlet. This works the same for the Gmail app.
Skipping the Connection Permission Prompt (Only applies to JBed)
One of the only negatives of using Jbed, over Jeodek, used to be that any time an application wanted to access to the Internet, Jbed would ask twice if you want to allow the action. It will also forget this permission next time you ran the application, so you would have to give permission every time you ran a Midlet that tried to access the Internet. Thanks to forum user g-funkster, a work around for this annoyance has been found!
1.) Copy the file \windows\appdb\selector.utf to your PC (make sure backup this file first in case something goes wrong!)
2.) Remove read-only attribute
3.) Open the file with a hex editor, and find the line
Code:
domain=untrusted, \
Replace the text untrusted with the text tckmax. Add space characters between the x (in tckmax) and the comma (otherwise connection warnings or a nullpointerexception error may occur). The above line may appear multiple times in the "selector.utf" file, each corresponds to a different Java Midlet you have installed in JBed.
Code:
domain=tckmax , \
If hex editing is too blackhat for you, g-funkster has created a desktop application that can do this for you automatically! You can find it here.

I used Notepad++ to edit the file and it worked perfectly.
Hi
With the amount my phone randomly formats itself lately it would be very useful for me to have a script or similar which could set-up my email accounts again. Does anyone know how to do this? I do have Mortscript but do not know how to make it do anything complicated.
Thanks

Yeah, I made a few provisioning XML files which contain all my email settings for my 3 accounts using Sashami. Register an account for the forum in the link (or otherwise obtain login credentials) and download the .cab. Install it, and open up Makisu (in the Sashami folder). Follow the wizard to create a provisioning XML file for an email account. When you're done, you should have an XML file which can be imported using tools like XDA User Customization during the initial boot (built into many cooked ROMs), Advanced Config, and Dotfred's Advanced Task Manager (though IIRC you have to rename the extension from .xml to .provxml to import with Dotfred's task manager). You can even make the XML file into a .cab by following these instructions (under "Creating the CAB File"), so you don't have to import it or change to a ROM with XDA_UC. This may seem like a lot of work right now, but you'll be grateful when you don't have to set up your email for the 70th time.
Thanks Dave. Sashimi is brilliant!
Hello!
Im not sure if this is the correct forum to ask.. basically I have the Yahoo Messenger for Android from the Marketplace. I didn't like the notification sounds so I decided to replace them via 7zip with equivalent filenames and extension then I deleted the Meta folder and signed the APK with Stericson's autosign. The APK installs correctly but I get no notification sounds when an event is received. I checked the contents again and the the MP3 files is there.
Any workaround will be greatly appreciated!
Hello
I have found a Chinese Windows Live Messenger on Applanet Market.
I translated it into English (there was a source English code inside, but in the menu there was no function to change the language)
I examined and edited the permissions too. I left the Camera and VoiceRecorder rights because without them the program also worked, but when you want to use for example "Take photo" function the program force closed.
Then I examinded this program and repaired with Privacy Blocker.
Now it works fine in my Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
There are some Chinese texts, because they are from the server communication.
Some instruction:
-Sort Contacts By Status -> Menu->Others->Sort your Contacts
(the Chinese text will disappear in case)
-Don't be afraid if you don't see your offline contacts
Menu->System Settings ->Show online contact only
This program not my creation. I just translated and edited the permission in order to be more safer.
If somebody wants to edit the APK
Download an APK tool
Run->cmd
Change directroy ex. to C:\ (if the apktool files are there)
to cmd write this line:
apktool d Messenger.apk (rename it without spaces)
The Messenger folder will appear.
Finally when you finished your programming:
apktool b Messenger
The new APK will be in the Messenger folder in dist folder.
Then you have to Sign the APK with Auto-Sign tool.
Im getting "can not allow login" message when I try to login.
Seems to work good it says there is a new version then links me here can you traslate it? http://3g.msn.cn/pc/
edit: NVM I found this but I have to figure out how to get it since I'm on verizon https://market.android.com/details?id=miyowa.android.microsoft.wlm
Using the Blackberry Z10 for a while i found that the universal file picker it is so useful and powerful. Dropbox, box, Microsoft cloud, SD card, even connected computers are all accessible within file picker, without needing extra steps.
For example I can attach an file from dropbox WITHOUT having to go the dropbox app, and hit share. Or change a picture in an app from dropbox account without leaving the current app..
Now using Nexus 5.. I would like to see an universal file picker (think about emulators, media apps, etc etc...) in near future.
Edit: I've attached a screenshot of the Blackberry 10 OS' file picker
