I suppose SIM-unlock is a hack, so i decided to post it here. apologies if i'm mistaken.
Anyway, i was shocked to find out that SIM-unlocking voids the warranty. I know it shouldn't have surprised me that much, but it did. So now i'm left with a 3 months old phone with no warranty.
Is there a way to remove the SIM-unlock, or better put, to lock it again to a specific operator so if i ever do need some repair to be done, my service provider does not refuse my warranty?
the phone is Omnia 7. the operator i originally puchsed it from is t-mobile croatia.
The one solution to unlock your cell phone for all networks is to enter on ebay.com and buy unlock code. Just type in search field: Your phone model unlock code. After payment you should add message, during the purchasing process your phones IMEI code, which is actually on the back of your cell phone box cover. After payment they will provide you sim unlock key.

I believe i have fixed the issue about matching your contacts when you define them with country code e.g +40722123123 as well as the issue with showing the caller id for SMS.
This is a fix on an sqlite stored procedure that it us used for queries on the contacts database.
USE THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK
Backup:
Code:
./adb pull /system/lib/libsqlite.so libsqlite.so.orig
copy this file http://www.diginesis.com/android/libsqlite.so in your android SDK tools folder then run the following commands

./adb remount
./adb shell rm /system/lib/libsqlite.so
./adb push libsqlite.so /system/lib/libsqlite.so
I am not sure if it is necessary but do a restart of the device.
Please let me know if there are other cases/country codes that do not work and I will have a look into it.

I recently bought my Omnia II (winmo 6.5) replacing an older Samsung phone and trasfered through sync w/ outlook my contacts to the new phone.
Some of the contacts have country codes (e.g +357 for Cyprus) in front of them and some don't.
When i get a call from a contact, if its nework sends the number with the country code prefix (e.g. when am abroad) and the contact is stored w/o the country code, then the phone does not recocnise the contact.
Visa versa, when i recieve a local call from a contact that is stored w/ the country code prefix in my phonebook, then again the phone does not recocnise the contact.
With my old Samsung I never had such a problem...Why is there an issue with this smart phone or winmo os?
Any fixes?

I have a Samsung Galaxy with Galax0 1.6.1.
My contacts have the DDDXXXXXXXX format and when I receive or call (format is only XXXXXXXX in incoming calls) the phone doesn't recognize the related contact.

I am on HD2 with Android 2.2, and living in Lebanon.
We have the following formats for phone numbers of mobiles:
+961 3 xxxxxx
+961 70 xxxxxx
+961 71 xxxxxx
The SMS application fails to match the +961 3 numbers because the matching is done on more digits. We store numbers as 03xxxxxx and 70xxxxxx. The matching system fails to do it properly on the SMS since the sender's number arrives in international format and the last 8 digits are matched which causes a failure.
In WM, this was fixed by changing HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\CallIdMatch from 8 into 7.
Does you fix help with this? Does it work on Android 2.2?

salut am si eu problema asta pe un htc magic 32B cu android 1.6. Am rootat telefonul dar la adb remount imi da eroare iar daca vreau sa sterg sau sa copiez peste acel fisier imi zice ca e readonly(e montata partita ca readonly?) ce pot sa fac sa copiez acel fisier in /system/lib ? am incercat si cu astro file manager nu am drept de write.

am reusit sa fac backup la fisier.
am resuit si mount remount cu rw.
am reusit sal sterg da nu am reusit sal copiez. si acum daca vreau sa folosesc comandda su imi da eroare pt ca are nevoie de fisierul libsqlite.so.
mi frica sa restartez telefonul daca nu o sa mai mearga deloc?
si acum nu pot copia nicium fisierul libsqlite.so pe telefon in /system/lib/

I was tray several options (off HTC location service.... clear storage....) but not work...

Pinty, izgubi vsako upanje....
poskusil sem pri mobitelu, celo urco so na novo vnašali nastavitve... brez pomoči
bil sem na HTC servisu (Emonagram), brez uspeha, edino kar so mi rekli je da imajo na servisu še enega Toucha2 in da ima iste težave, niso vedeli za težave in so obljubili da bodo ontaktirali HTC (bomo videli)
Po moje je napaka na relaciji HTC-Windows mobile in se bodo najverjetneje delali neumni...
Upam da bomo našli rešitev

What do you mean, all the people who have the WM 6.5 terminals must throw away!
I believe that sooner or later the problem is resolved, I believe in guys that work to take forward work on the house because those HTC do not want to do more.
No i havent said that. Actually i own HTC Mega with WM 6.5 and i think its quite good. Of course its no match for Android but hey - it still offers quite good experience. But if the problem will be solved...thats another question. Let it give some time or try alternative applications

Yes ... and i tried to use the card from P500 on other phone and is working, SD Card is ok.

Thanks for reply, but i understand that LG cut the connection with KDZ and you cant make the unroot, you cant download the software. I heard about a new thing, is called Smartflash and i understand that you must have 2 objects for software ... not one like for KDZ, someone know about? :highfive:
by any chance did you make a backup of your oiginal rom before flashing? I mean you could do a basic factory restore but not sure how that would work....
or you could fry the phone completly so they don't know you were rooted witha electro magnet one friend did this to a phone that couldn't be unrooted

When I ordered my Vivo Nex S, I received a "guest account Vivo" with an account and a password .
Now, I want to sell it but the problem is that the phone says that the password is wrong. But I didn't changed the password and I can't get a new one because it's not my phone or my email.
Thus, I decided to wipe data in the reboot system. But now, when I start the phone, it says that the phone is locked and that I need the password of the account to unlock it...
I don't know what to do but I can't use my Vivo anymore ans I just want to sell it...

Impossible due to the locked bootloader oh Huawei phones. Occasionally you can pay a couple hundred pounds to unlock it on Funky Huawei, however they rarely do it.
