qik video/ skype video not working right on CM7 - Thunderbolt General

with qik, i see the video, but the other end can't hear me, but can see me. with skype, it says the other person doesn't have video, but then i don't either, and audio doesn't work either.
i would post this in the cm7 forum, but so far, all 5 or so of my posts have gotten buried with no chance of a return

Are you using the hacked version of Skype? The original leaked Skype app that worked on Froyo does not work on Gingerbread. And even the newest version of Skype in the market specifically does not support the Tbolt just yet. I suspect it won't officially support it until we get Gingerbread from an OTA.
There is however a hacked Skype (version from the market) that unlocks our device in it and it supposedly does work in Gingerbread roms. I haven't tried it yet as I found Skype video to be pretty much buggy and of poor quality if not on Wifi so I don't mind waiting longer for it.

I have the newest leaked version. You're right though, i may just give up on it for the moment. I wonder why qik acts up though, everything looks good, just no sound

[Q] Skype not Working..

I have read through previous threads and I'm having an issue with Skype saying that this version dosn't run on my Thunderbolt. I recently had it running on Stock rom. I rooted and I am now running BAMF 1.6.3 with Kernel 4.4.7 .. I had the same issue on BAMF 1.6.2.
I can download the mobile version or the full version but both of them tell me that it doesn't run and that a new version with video was coming out, yet it was working on Stock. Is there something I'm missing to get this to work?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

Last I checked, the only Skype that works on the Thunderbolt is the leaked video one.

If he had it working prior to installing BAMF, wouldn't that not be true? Assuming the OP isn't lying, it must be a ROM issue. I myself am running BAMF remix 1.6.3. I haven't tried the market versions of skype, but the leaked one does work. Version 1.0.1.1025 I believe. I do have major problems with the video aspect of the leaked app. I can call out, but the app freezes and, well, just wigs the eff out when I try to video chat. I'm thinking this is a ROM issue with BAMF as people have reported good results with Skype video on stock so it wouldn't surprise me if your issue is also a BAMF one.
Skype got bought by Microsoft today...

I was never ever able to use the Skype app, even before I was rooted. When you downloaded it from the market and went to open it up, it would give you the message that it wasn't working for the TB yet but to check back later for an update.
The leaked one is the only one I have ever been able to run. Also, myself and many others are running the leaked version of Skype just fine on DasBAMF, it is not a ROM issue. The leaked version is the only one that will work with the TB.
Yea might just be a BAMF thing, but I'm not really sure. If I find the time tonight I might back everything up, return it to stock rom and see if it works again. I don't know if the video one worked, but I was using skype. I can't post in the dev forums under the update for BAMF yet as I don't have enough post.
Thanks for the responses.

Alright then. Well may I ask what version of BAMF you are on and what kernel? I am trying to figure out why video calling loses it's mind on my T-Bolt...

Hopefully Google Talk video will be on the Thunderbolt before too long. Won't need Skype anymore, assuming Microsoft ruins it.
Try using THIS VERSION. Just make sure in the applications settings your phone is set to allow installation of "unknown applications".(this is the working version w/video)
I will try that version and see how it goes... Thanks for all the assitance everyone.
Mine only does audio. I tried it on stock, and on The Perfect Storm 1.3 and 1.4, using wifi, 4g, and 3g. Same results - only audio and no video. I can actually see the video from the front facing camera before the other person picks up, but then the video cuts out as soon as they do.
Seems like no one else has this problem. IDK what else to try. Thoughts?

DID YOU TRY THE VERSION I POSTED PREVIOUSLY???? This version works even on the stock ROM as I have it running on a stock Thunderbolt un-rooted right now.
Thanks.... That version you posted works great. Apprciate all the help.
Anyone able to install the skype with video on the new leak?
+1 to the question in the previous post.
Unfortunately it doesn't currently support it...hopefully soon

You wanted Netflix? Well here you go!

I have this version (1.3) working on my Inspire 4G. No hacks needed just dl and install from SD card! http://www.multiupload.com/XTEWL8CLCZ Works for me on stock AT&T 2.3 GB rooted rom!!! All video and sound is working. This version of Netflix is the latest update for use on Android tablets but it's working on HTC Inspires too. I have tested the streaming on WiFi and on HSPDA+ and both work great. By the way this is not a hacked .apk .
Sorry, I see this was posted 5 days ago. Guess I need to use that damn search button before I post!
closing thread... not necessary, There has been an ongoing Netflix thread here

[Q] Gingerbread on TF? Wait I have an explanation.

I know it sounds crazy but I have a reason. My understanding is that Skype and HBO Go only work on Gingerbread. I was thinking about dualbooting Gingerbread and honeycomb so that I could use Skype and HBO go on demand when I want to.
Is there a Cyanogen ROM that works with the TF101?
cyanogen is not ported to the transformer. skype video will be supported in an upcoming update skype text works right now. If you are really set on gingerbread i know that some of the original transformers shipped with the development rom which i believe was either gingerbread or froyo
Edit: found it FROYO http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078840
You might be able to flash that just read through the thread

Read through it. I didn't see anywhere in there how to download this and install it as ROM. Did I miss it? Any idea how to load this?

Gingerbread and Netflix?

I just rooted my HTC Eris for the first time this week. I'm using Evervolv 2.3.5 rom. So far everything works great. Now just yesterday, Netflix released a version 1.4 for most Androids. I've just installed the Netflix app for the first time, but it will not play any videos. Has anyone else had this problem? Do I need to use a different Netflix program? The new Netflix ver 1.4 says its for Gingerbread.
Netflix is not compatible with all phones yet.
I had a heck of a time with Netflix on my Dinc. It wouldn't close properly, and then would restart once I killed it.
Hmmm, I think Neflix posted an article that they supported all Froyo and Gingerbread phones now. Maybe your ROM has something to do with it?
