just a quick question..SKTools read out system idle at 98% and i was wondering if thats bad...like will it run down the battery> and my other question is, i txt for the past 3 hours and my battery is down 80% idk if thats normal as well, u guys got any suggestions? thanks
you should reset your phone ( a simple soft reset will do ) and you should look up battery saving tips , for instance downloading a backlight changing software so you can easily turn down the backlight . ive found that putting it as low as i can stand makes my battery last 4x as long .
can anybody confirm this? after only having the update for a short period of time and only using it for about a minute i feel like it may be draining the battery. when checking my battery use, it showed gesture search as 50%+ of my battery usage. i dont even have the new flip sensor thing enabled either.
Same thing happened on my phone. I had to use Task Killer to stop it from running.
Yes same thing here.
Yes, same here, but I don't think it's actually draining it. Because my battery doesn't percentage doesn't go down faster than normal. Hopefully they fix it soon because now I don't know what actually uses my battery
yeah, i cant tell if its actually draining either. i didnt really feel like testing it much though, i decided to just roll back the update untill the next update.
Noticed the same thing. 84% battery usage and I have used it maybe four times today. Gonna uninstall until further notice unless someone finds a solution.
Gesture search settings gives an option to disable double-flip feature. It's the new flip feature which eats all the battery. Disable it and you should be fine i guess. It even warns you while enabling flip.

Mine was disabled already.
What is "plugin sample" under partial wake usage? It kept my phone awake for 26m under the sensor...
Good question. It seems to be destroying my battery. Some investigation is definitely needed.
I think this deserved a bump.... still no answer as to what it is, and its definitely a battery killer.
I'm having the same issue... I usually can squeak out 2 days on a charge during the week since I'm mainly on Wi-Fi, but today my battery died at work after only 11 hours off the charger. Number one killer was "Plugin Sample" which used 56%. Thats absurd. I DL'ed a task manager to see what was up, but I didnt see anything out of the ordinary.
My wife's phone has the same problem...can't seem to find the fix for it. I rooted her phone to the same rom/kernel as mine and it's still there draining the battery.
Angry Birds
Out of curiosity, do all of you have Angry Birds installed, and played it recently? [this does apply to the thread]
I just discovered this problem today. I don't have Angry Birds and never have, so it's probably not that. I did notice that the process was labeled as android.process.acore when I first opened the battery use list, then quickly changed to plugin sample.
I've seen something called .acore force quit before, maybe on my old G1 or maybe on this phone. It seemed to require a reloading of the home screen icons.
Does anyone else on this thread use Launcher Pro?
Same Problem Here!!!!!
Could someone PLEASE help those of us with this problem!?!?
i use Launcher Pro and have plugin sample on my phone.
i cant stop or uninstall the item and it also has some hardcore permissions, which is why im searching here looking for what its used for.
Just a thought, would it be the plugin option on the browser? I read somewhere that to save battery you should change that setting from the default "always" to "on demand."
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App

This app has one function that I know of:
It clears your missed calls notification.
Found it by accident after I removed trust in LBE Privacy Guard for a bunch of random apps and noticed my missed calls stopped dismissing.
Found this app in the logs being constantly denied access.
I cannot find an indication of screen on time in either Usage or History under my power menu. Is it not there, or am I just blind? I've also checked the "Display & gestures" without luck.
Screen time has always been my major indication of battery life, so I'm having a hard time evaluating my new phone without it. Can anyone help?
Thank you.

Try a 3rd party app like GSAM Battery Monitor.
So it's really not there? I really thought I was just missing something. It's ridiculous that the information is not available through the stock rom.
Thanks for the reply, I'll check out the app, but it seems like there's got to be a way to get the stock system to show that info? Maybe there's a mod of the settings.db to enable it?
Anyone know?
Yeah, I have no idea why HTC would not include the "Screen" section for Battery Usage

Hell, I don't know why they didn't just use the real Android settings/power/etc screens, and just theme them with Sense.

Isn't it in settings under / power ? nevermind I see what your talking about.
Yeah that irritated the heck out of me too when I first noticed it. And since KitKat you can't use apps to monitor battery statistics without root and an Xposed module. Now I just betterbatterystats and EnableBatteryStatsPermission xposed module and I can see my screen on time, kernel wakelocks, and everything else. Works for me.
Hello folks!
Ive been studying my friend's camera godzilla and noticed one thing - the upper part of the phone really heats up on usage. Even on apps like whatsapp, messaging, viber, etc. So I wondered. Why? Simple apps, that have no 3D rendering should not heat up the cpu much. So I started testing. The phone started to heat up when you typed a lot. Hmm maybe the cause is a lot of data sending/recieving via the GSM module, and its heating up? Nope, turned out, it was not GSM..
So, how the idea got to me...
I was watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfkkShYcbUM and got amazed: so much information is being processed when you type a single letter: the CPU has not only to search the entire dictionary to try to predict, it also has to to constantly change the size of each key, so that even if you miss the letter, you will type correctly anyway ( if you dont watch the above vid, you won't understand what im talking about) .
So I thought: " maybe that's the activity that heats up the CPU so much? Searching/predicting/learning ? " Why dont I turn it off?
Seemes I was wright, after turning it off the phone does not heat up anymore on simple apps, like chatting, texting, typing web addresses and so on. And if the phone doesn't heat up - that means battery is being saved.
-> The SOLUTION is to go to Settings-Keyboard settings and turn OFF all the auto predicts, swypes etc. Yes it may hurt usability ( but for me it
feels better when the phone doesn't correct my words)
So that's just words, you would say, how about numbers?
I tested this theory on L1020, on L1320, on L920 and on L620. All gave me double battery lifetime on messaging. The test was being held on WP8.1 developer preview latest update ( came on 16.05.14 or so) , in Group Chat ( microsoft's messenger in People Hub). L 1320 gave me 8 hours of chatting on Auto brightness, being on 3G ( full signal ) after disabling keyboard's "smart" technologies. The phone did not heat up, lasted twice longer ( yep, this is ugly, I have L1320, which is supposed to give like 10 hours of "screen on" and it held like 4 hours on simple chatter ).
-------------------------------
Try it, if it helps to save battery and your hands ( Lumias can get pretty hot eww ), tell others!
P.S. : I dont know if anyone has posted this before. And if I posted it in the right forum. I'm just happy as a little kid- finding this workaround to solve batt. problems.
Ive noticed the same issue regarding the top of the phone heating up. Your theory is worth trying out. Ill get back to you soon after testing.
Thank you for your Thread.
But the most annoying thing is the drain on standby. I'm actual always at about ~10% over night.
Tried so many things but nothing helps I miss the 1% from my S3 days
yeah tried it and nother happens
