just stumbled across this. i wonder how much abuse it can stand up to.
id like to see the belt clip
i use the clip on my case and its not so great im definitely looking for a better one
From looking sure the way that closes I'd very if you dropped it the phone would come right out of the case. Doesn't look very secure too me.

I guess this is the new Phone case for drug dealer. Cases like the aluminium money cases in Miami Vice.

I love how the aluminum looks, but I would be kinda concerned about the safety of the phone.
Some customer reviews mentioned that the hinge/lock will get tangled everywhere. Like when taking the phone out of the pocket
Any one had any issues with that?
How about issues with the phone working period? Seems to me an aluminum cover for a phone would be counter productive.

No one seems to mention how horrible and inconvenient the xda case is. The xda was bad, because you had to open it to answer the phone, but the xda II is awful as it opens from the top, and when you use it not only do you have to open it, you've also got a horrible case flapping around all over the place. Lucky I'm not trying to look cool with my new phone!
No, seriously, has anyone found a better case? I want one that doesn't have to be opened to use the phone, but also protects the thing properly, as I've just had a bad experience with my old xda (apparently) getting irreparably damaged without me even noticing...
Thanks
I'm waiting for an i-Volution case from Vaja ; I had one for my XDA1 , and it was absolutely perfect !
I still use the "Rugged" Krussel case i used for my XDA. Works pretty good.

The Aluminum one is on my christmas list.
Hmm.. one you don't have to open. I like that idea.

looking cool
to be really ice cold cool.
don't have phone, pda or credit cards.
Let you manservant carry those..
Thanks for the suggestions. Wheere does the aluminium one come from?
I think I'll wait until I've finally decided I like the xda II and wouldn't rather sell it, and then I'll cut holes in the original leather case! Very distressing to find I can't turn the phone off using the red button, though...
Check this case out, makes it easy to use bluetooth.

Would the Aluminum case hinder reception? I would think so if it covers the antenna area of the XDAII/iMate
And why no lanyard loop? I added a lanyard to my XDA ant this was quite helpful in keeping me from dropping it.

I can't really tell from the pics so I was hoping somebody who might have gotten it would know whether I can keep the case on while using the physical keyboard?
There are threads in the Accessories section regarding those Otterbox thingies...

I went to the link you posted and it says there that you can use the keyboard as you normally do. The answer was in front of you the whole time.
Why would you not be able to use the keyboard?!?!?!?!

One part for the front and one for the back. Still slides open np. Otterbox cases are worth every penny, imo.

I've been using mine for about a month and a half. Its great. Love that it covers all the ports. But its slipped out of my hands numerous times. Wish it came with a holster.

fast review of this case:
good, solid design. love the inside rubber lining on the back cover.
outside material really slick, it has slipped out my hands numerous times. got some nice "wear and tear" marks because of this.
coupled with good screen protector i got a brick i can throw at someones head and knock em out.
pain in the ass to take off to use game gripper.
front cover does not feel like it will last forever as the clips are thin and crappy.

the rubber/hardcase combo from case-mate for nexus one is my gold standard for cell phone cases.
I received my Seidio Surface case on Wednesday. At first, I was really excited. The case has a nice finish and good build quality. However, yesterday I decided to take the case off to clean my phone and I saw the four corners of the phone very deeply scratched. The bezel also has some scratches.
Before someone says it's because of debris and dust that gets in the case, I am pretty sure that I cleaned the case very well and dusted if off with a can of compressed air. The scratches were definitely caused by the case.
I am deeply disappointed with Seidio and their product. This piece o junk that costs almost 40 bucks was meant to protect my device, yet it did the opposite.
EDITED: Here are the pictures:
THESE PICTURES ARE THUMBNAIL LINKS TO THE ACTUAL SIZE PICTURES. MAKE SURE YOU VIEW THIS THREAD USING A BROWSER, NOT THE XDA APP (AS IT WILL ONLY DISPLAY THE ENLARGED PIXELED THUMBNAIL)
i had mines for 2 months and no deep scratches only on the side bezel maybe 1 or 2, but that is due to me taking case on and off tryin to take out battery and messing around with it. The case looks good doesnt feel cheap or look cheap like other cases like tpu or wateva silicone cases. And i really dont care about scratches on side bezel or corner im more worry about me dropping my phone and screen getting cracked!!! i dropped my phone with the Seidio case on like 5 times and no damages at all.
sorry to hear that. I have experienced scratches by cases before, that's why I don't use hard cases anymore. THe only cases I would go for is silicone and TPU. Even with my Motrola xt720 TPU hard case, it still gave micro-scratches on the phone.
The whole point of getting a case for me was preventing scratches, since I hardly ever drop my phone. Seidio sucks.

Sure! and I bet you have a product to push, right? I have owned the sedio case for two weeks. I take it off and replace it with ease. It's not the best case for safety but it is definitely a quality product best for overall look of the device. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEM AT ALL.

What do you mean product to push? If you think I'm trying to lead people not buy Seidio, you are right. But as you mentioned, it appeared to be the best choice in the market at the moment. I'm just posting my experience as a user, if you wanna have a chance of getting your phone scratched, then go ahead and use a Seidio case. However, I feel at least obligated to share my experience and warn others in the G2x community about bad products that I have had experience with. Contrary to you who seems to be a selfish kid.
the whole point is ur saying its terrible its bad etc..., but i dont see ppl complaining about it. I guess if your a clumsy person then u shouldnt get a seidio case is that what your saying? i mean can u show us a picture. I mean if its a little scratch then i dont really care....i think ppl buy cases for 2 reason #1 Protect the phone #2 YOUR CASE MUST LOOK AWESOME!!!!!

I will take a picture and post here, but first I need to get a camera. By Friday it should be posted. Now, if you doubt what I'm saying, just google "seidio scratch phone" without quotes. You will be surprised in knowing that I'm not the first one to experience this. Again, I may be the first one to actually post my experience with the G2x and the Seidio case. If I know something, why not share with others?

The inner edges of the cases are curved in too much. So over time, it will cause minute scratches.
Immediate fix would be to sand it down a little.
Here's a pic of one of the corners. That mark is exactly where the cases inner edge is. So no, the OP is not making this up.

Thank you for the picture GideonX. On my phone, is much worse. The corners have been heavily scratched by the case. I will post pictures soon. I have already contacted Seidio but they have not answered yet. I was so pissed with it that I have thrown it in the trash.

I just got mine. It fits really nice and snug. I can't even see how vibration could cause marks like that. The only problem for me is that now I want a case for my case...because it looks soooo damn nice.

Check back in about two weeks. Obviously if you just got it, you aren't going to see this problem yet.
I can confirm that the case has done the same thing on my phone, but not as badly as OP. Still, I'm really bothered by it. Went back to my 4 dollar TPU case and not too happy about it.

Thanks for the heads up, I removed my case to check for scratches, but there were none. I've had the case for about 2 weeks now. To the people who have scratches, do you use vibration? That may be the problem because I rarely use vibration and I have no scratches at all

You're welcome. I'm happy that I'm able to warn people before their phones get scratched like mine did. I did have vibration on just for a couple of hours when I was in a meeting. Besides that, vibration was off the whole time.

Yes, vibration was used.

Body glove case for our phones recall!!!
They told me no one bought them. And they needed that space for the Sensation and galaxy phone.
What's up with that?

Any idea where the recall info is. Googled it. Got nothing
From WAL-MART they pulled it from shelves the only one they have is the gel case on clearance and when those are done. They are not having any case for our phones made by body glove.
I wonder why???
You can still get it other places.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Could it simply be that Wal Mart doesn't want to do business with Body Glove anymore? My local T-mobile still carries the cases.

dumbest thread title.
There 2 different cases from body glove for the G2x, you are only talking about Walmart but don't say that. Nothing was recalled, which means the factory does not want them back.
Basically you are saying a store stopped carrying a case, a store with limited shelf space, and a ton of phones to deal with.
The body glove grasp case is excellent, if you can find it.

I'm surprised the above posters think it's a POS. I have a Body Glove and I think it's the best case for our phone. Great protection without sacrificing looks. Doesn't add much bulk... Makes the g2x feel great in hand. Love the cushioned inside to prevent any scratches or nicks while the phone is in the case. It's also not hard to remove either. There's a "slot" on the bottom right of the case. Stick a quarter in and twist.... Quick, easy and no damage done while removing.
I'd recommend it

I'm surprised you DON'T think it's a POS. I bought 2 of them thinking body glove had to be the best case for the phone. It DOES however add bulk to the phone. I will agree it felt better in the hand. Not hard to remove using the "quarter" method BUT the top part of the case is flimsy and will break after a few removals. Ever accidentally drop your phone with this "best case available"? I have, the case pops off and the phone flies out and gets chewed up. The best part of this is that when I dropped my phone I was bent over and the phone was 2 feet off the ground and actually hit my foot BEFORE hitting the ground.
BAD CASE, HUGE MISTAKE PURCHASING IT. NEVER AGAIN
Ive had this case since I bought my phone and at first it was a little hard to take off. After having to pull the battery out early on the case didn't hold up very well and ended up breaking. Im on my second and its already broke but it does protect the phone very well.

There is no recall. I spoke to the store manager. They told me they pulled it off the shelf to make for cases of newer phones they carry.
The first person I spoke to was a regular employee and I see now he did not know what was going on.

I'm with you on this case, I have one as well and it has to one of the best cases I've used and I like how once you get it on its kinda difficult to get off not unless you use the slot like truplay mentioned, it comforts me that if I drop my phone the case won't pop off like a lot of 2 piece cases do.
I recommend it as well

there are 3 Body Glove cases
The two piece sold everywhere include T-Mobile
The Grasp which is a high grade TPU with some silicon fused to it somehow.
And the Silicon one you are saying at Staple.
All three exist on Ebay, and the Silicon is different than the grasp.
The Grasp has the diagonal lines which is an easy way to identify. It sell for like 8 bucks new on ebay last time I looked.
Has anyone seen this case, owns it, or has a similar case for any of their devices. Just looking for some general things, such as your thoughts on it, protection, design, price point, etc. It seems from looking at similar models that there is a rubber fitted inner sole with the hard exterior placed over the top. Looks aesthetically pleasing, just curious about functionality. I was going to go with an Otterbox, but they aren't in stores yet and it seems I can pick this up at various best buys in my state in stock. Thanks for your time

Didn't get a response here, but went down to best buy to take a look. It isn't that great in the protection department and there is no rubber under piece that surrounds the phone as I originally thought. It sure looks NICE though!! Really gives the s4 that high end look to go with it specs. A little pricey at $50 for what you get, but I couldn't walk out without it

Let me ask you, since you say there is no rubber (or similar) material underneath, do you worry/forsee any scratching issues?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
It fits like a glove. There is no wiggle for a scratch to come into play. It could be a worry when dropping though. Time will tell on that one, but hopefully we can avoid that first drop for a while haha *fingers crossed*. I couldn't wait a week for the otter box to hit stores and wanted a case right away. Love the style, but as I said the durability is yet to be determined. I do have 14 day return if I change my mind and go with otter box though. The defender would be the same price and with a lot more protection
