[Q] Porting Death Rally To Android - General Questions and Answers

I came across a game today that was an old favorite of mine. Called Death Rally, do some of you remember this game? Its playable on windows, and I think theres a port of it or a similar game for wm. Does anybody know of a game that similar for Android, Or even a remote possibility of someone porting a game like that for the android platform... probably a lot to ask I know!! Its just this game was epic back in its day and I would love to see this type of game on android, make for one really cool game. Maybe there's somebody here that can help me out?

They released Death Rally on market for free!
Though it's only available in Canada atm(LOL!?!?!)... The rest of the world get it in March....

New game request for a WM device!

If anyone out there has a friend with an iphone should know about the "apps" and a game called Ragdoll. If you havent heard of the game, it is definatly worth checking out. It is physics based, and made by Backflip Studios. It involves shooting a ragdoll out of a cannon in order to hit a target using trajectory and velocity. Sound simple, but the levels get tricky and the game is very addicting. If there is any game like that for windows mobile i would love to know. If not, i would like to challenge a developer to create one! People, check it out and let me know what you think.
This game is awesome... I hope it comes out for WM
BUMP!!!
I too have a friend with a 'why'PHONE and he has this game. It's called Ragdoll Blaster and it's great. Someone has got to port this to Win Mobile.
Why is this in the About xda Forum. This has nothing to do with the Site.

looking for some good android rpg games.. not likemob wars

i want to look for some decent android rpg games, but cant find any. i downloaded parallel kingdom, and trying zenonia... i really dont like games like mob wars etc.
any suggestions?
Assuming you aren't diehard on the idea of having to play multiplayer games on Android, my best suggestion to you is get an SNES emulator to play the classic games such as Chrono Trigger (drool) and the older Final Fantasy games.
If you are thinking about single player games, then:
Zenonia and Caligo Chaser are definitely the best ones.
There is ADOM port to Android, if you like roguelikes. I have spent A LOT of time on it - it's fantastic to slash some orcs in a bus ;-)
There are many good RPGs on NES or Gameboy and you could run them using emulators.
My apologies for raising this thread, and hello to the forum.
Brut.all, could you please point me towards this ADOM port for android? Haven't been able to find it.

I was wrong, I was playing Angband, not ADOM - sorry. Unfortunately ADOM is closed source, but its author is considering open sourcing it, so maybe it will be droidized in some future
I was afraid so... I thought that somebody had collaborated with Biskup to port ADOM to Android. Some day hopefully
Thanks anyway for your quick reply
Crusade of Destiny is an ok game reminds me of EQ for some reason. I been wanting to try dungeon hunter the screen-shots look good.
Hero of Sparta is a very fun game.
I know Hero of Sparta might not be 100 rpg, but its closest to fill that void (besides giving into the drug of choice WoW "2 months clean")
hey u guys talking about ang? well in that case im playing nethack and slash em on the droid. . . but for the controls i mapped it to my wii remote, so i don't have to rely on the virtual keyboard. can you imagine how hard it was to kick down a highly resistant door with the virtual keyboard lol i kept pressing k and then the direction of the door. let's not even talk about sinks lol. . . anyway, wii remote + nethack is the way to go if you like rpgs. i don't see anything else that resembles a playable rpg on the droid market thus far.
I just got a Droid X (first android phone, and LOVING it), and I'm looking for some games to check out. Emulators sound like a good route to try, is there somewhere they're available online? Preferably free, if possible? And can anyone recommend a good emulator available in the Market?
(S)NESoid is pretty good and also free. Pay to get the non lite version and use savestates. Unfortunately for me the SNES version is too slow and choppy on my MT3G.
Zenonia !
all the way
hope you enjoy ur Droid X
Not what you traditionally think of as RPGs, but Choice of Broadsides and Choice of the Dragon are terrific little choose-your-own-adventure type games. They've probably been the best games I've played yet on my Slide.
Wacky Toons RPG
Maybe you could check out Wacky Toons RPG. It's actually written for android and not a port from old systems.
In my opinion, here are some of the good Android RPGs:
10. Battleheart
9. Heroes of Loot
8. The Bard's Tale
7. Shadowrun Returns
6. The Forest of Doom
5. Sorcery! 2
4. 9th Dawn
3. Knights of Pen & Paper +1
2. Final Fantasy VI
1. The World Ends with You
Hope it helps!

What's the best RPG?

Hi everyone. Just want a bit of help really. I want a good Final Fantasy type RPG to sink my teeth into, and was wondering which you all think is the best. Every time I look on the Market I just keep getting MMO's, lol. It can be either 2D or 3D.
hey, i visit these forums everyday but i just forgot i had an account xD by the way, i know some titles.
Symphony of Eternity (JRPG)
Eve of the Genesis (JRPG)
Zenonia 1,2,3 (Action-JRPG much like 2d zeldas)
Eternal Legacy (JRPG, its the gameloft version of FF13, i think its quite boring)
these are also endless possibilities with emulators. even if you don't have an xplay, JRPGs are playable on touchscreen
i'd also like to expand the topic a little bit. I'm searching for western rpgs, as close as elder scrolls as possible. On android, there are some open world games like GTA3 or GOF2, but they are not rpgs, also there's no fantasy medieval setting. Earth and legend is kinda sucky and boring. Dungeon hunter 2 is a bad diablo/torchlight clone.
Then, there are emulators. On the psx theres diablo which is awesome and addictive, but its far from being a WRPG. There is also a jap-only version of ultima underworld but its, ya know... jap-only. On the snes there is ultima 6, might and magic 3, and eye of the beholder. The former has a strange system (can't really figure out what to do), the latter two are candidates even if they have parties and the action window is small. Haven't tried them yet. Exact same for Mazes of fate on the GBA. On the n64 there's gauntlet legends which is like diablo if i'm not mistaken. Then there's of course zelda OOT, MM and a bunch of horrible games like quest 64. The zelda titles are of course awesome but they're not what i'm looking for.
Someone has managed to get daggerfall running on andosbox. I tried and it went slow and laggy as in his video. However he pm'd me saying it can be made to run at full speed.
In the end, i'd really like suggestions, on android games and emulators alike. I hope i haven't gone off topic, just wanted to help bluescorpion and to not get clumsy with a redundant topic.

Thanks for the help man, I'll try them out. And I totally forgot about my emulators, lol. I'm gonna DL FFV and Secret of Mana.
I wish you could get the original Fallout on Android.
I've had a hell of a fun time playing Eve of Genesis. There are so many hidden items to obtain, extra bosses after the "final" boss and a lot of customization with the characters and skills.
Zenonia 3 was also a lot of fun. Very hack and slash but good for a playthrough. This game also has extra content after beating the game the first time. There is a "Hard" mode and a "Hell" mode as well.
SNES RPGs are plentiful. Don't think I need to go into the mainstream ones but if you haven't played Treasure Hunter G, find a translated ROM immediately and play it. Only released in Japan but it's an amazing game.
No problem man fallout is completely mouse driven, right? dunno if that could work for me. I also thought about GemRB for baldur's gate ecc., is it worth it? does it work on the gamepad? I think many of those games need mouse anyway.
as for JRPGs, if you take emulators into account there's a whole lot even of non-mainstream ones. On the SNES try Star Ocean, Terranigma and Illusion of Gaia, on the PSX try Persona, Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve (the first one), Chrono Cross and Wild Arms. Of course if you don't know them already.
Huh, onlive has the witcher. Can it be played on the xplay? I can't try as i'm not in uk/us. Maybe there's a way around that
You can always emulate classic PsOne RPGs like FF7 8 9 on FPSE if you're feeling
android RPGs are bad..
On my case I'm still playing Spectral Souls and its a good one for me.. Id also want to try out Generation of Chaos but buying a second pricey RPG game is too much for me right now. But hyperdevbox games speaks for itself, their games are good compared to other games which looks like it was made from RPGmaker.
Ive tried Eternal Legacy since it has nice graphics but I quit playing after a few hours since I find less action and effort of Gameloft here to actually even clone Final Fantasy. I hate that you can only select commands for the main character and just select a command profile for the other party members.. *sigh*
that's my main thoughts on the turn-based RPGs.
If Im going to play a slash-and-destroy-your-way RPG I'd definitely pick Dungeon Hunter over cartoony Zenonia series but both are good games you should get.
But right now, aside from hyperdevbox RPGs, I'd say PSOne RPGS are still best.
rpg games
there are many great rpg games on psx
Try legend of the dragoon ps1
Sent from my R800x using XDA App
I recommend Castle of Shadows.. looks pretty good, kinda interesting story and it's fun
But.. I'm not sure if it's the sort of game you are looking for.
For me, there's not a single mobile game that has the character or charm of even the worst console/PC game.

Truthfully, I would have to agree with you on that. I'm not feeling the love for many of the mobile games. Maybe I'm just old, I dunno. Although I do like plenty of newer PC RPGs. **cough Skyrim** But that is a different animal all together. The Zenonia series deserves a good score though, it's a good action RPG. Also, Pocket Legends seems good enough to be a totally free MMO. Neither of those are really like Final Fantasy though. Run all the PSOne Final Fantasy games though PSXPeria and/or FPSE and you'll be in heaven. I'm playing through Final Fantasy Tactics right now. I'm also after the dozens of PSOne RPGs that I never got too, such as Xenogears, Grandia and Chrono Cross. Google something like Top PSX RPGs and you'll find tons of top 10 type lists with lots of RPGs.
Use GameBoid to emulate Golden Sun and its sequel.
Final fantasy tactics, front mission 3,

You won't find a single mobile phone game at sixty dollars either. I'm afraid good story telling, scripting and so on has its price and it will never get cheaper, it's not like graphical power which has catch-up economies and gets cheaper to use with time.
I agree with logs, your comparing 2 diffrent genres, mobile games are cheap to make and cheap to buy, console games have massive budgets and hundreds maybe thousands of people involved in the development, where as mobile games would be lucky to have a team of 10 programmers.

If you're looking for something that's actually console-quality, go for Spectral Souls and Generation of Chaos.
Kind of unfair listing those since they are actually full-on console ports, but hey... they're in unplayable condition on PSP, so Android's pretty much their only real releases. I'll let you know right now that, if you can leap over that psychological "Holy ****, that's $15 for a goddamn phone game!" barrier, you'll have found the games that don't 'feel' like mobile phone RPGs.
Honestly, I don't mind the mobile phone RPGs either. Symphony of the Eternity, Alphadia and Eve of the Genesis have brought me something I've been wanting for a while... some Final Fantasy-like games from their 2D prime that have a new, fresh feel.
yeah, i forgot about Spectral Souls, but i've never been into strategy RPGs, i thought he didn't want that stuff.
Hey TLR, i sent you a pm on youtube about open world WRPGs, could you give it a look when you have time? It can also add a bit to the discussion here

[request] glider classic port

Do you guys remember the classic game called "Glider" that was available on mid 1980's to late 1990's apple computers. Well the creator of that game has redone the game with the classic levels an made it available for all apple products. I was wondering if there is any way someone can port that to our android devices. It would be greatly appreciated and im sure many people here would love the game.
Bump anybody...??

[Q] Does anyone know a app for android like this?

There was this game I used to play on IOS called Reign Of Swords, it was taken down a few years ago and I don't know why. But man, this game was great, does anyone know any type of game app for android that's like this?
Here's a image of it; http://wirelessmedia.ign.com/wireless/image/article/916/916728/reign-int_1223334140.jpg
It was a strategy turned based rpg god I loved this game.
And here's a review so you can see what it's about
http://www.ign.com/articles/2008/10/06/reign-of-swords-review
