Now that we have had our phones for a few weeks is anyone else out there amazed at how good the coverage is on the new 4G network. Coming from Sprint with the EVO I am just amazed. Been two 3 different 4G cities in 3 states and have been impressed everywhere. Anyone else?

man i wish i were in a 4g area. sadly, i only have 3g here in northwest indiana but chicago has 4g so i am hoping that 4g will be here within the end of the year.
how does 3g compare to 4g for you?

There's the understatement of the year.

I travel between NY and Philadelphia for work on weekly bases and basically have nonstop 4G coverage.
the entire east coast of FL is blanketed with 4g and working there way west
unfortunately my house is in the grey area
its honestly the biggest cell phone revolution since 3G lol... its really incredible.
I had 4G for about 10 minutes yesterday morning, then they turned it off. I was pissed. Guess they were testing. I hope that means they're going to light it up soon.
I was only pulling about 4.5-6.5 Mb/s.

It will be that way for 4 weeks or so, thats what they did here. They will up the speeds also after they load test etc. After that period of time they just leave it on

Lol I live in the heart of Boston downtown to be precise and there's 4g everywhere here. Am very impress but I feel like when ever my phone drops 4g for whatever reason 3g seems so slow now. But some time I have to force the phone to 3g just conserve battery that's a damn shame Verizon because 4g is amazing. But Verizon still have to optimize the yell out of it beside the battery drain some time it hangs before starting to download data or load a page, got embarrass trying to show off to a friend. But no problem with 4g here wow you guys without 4g are definitely missing out but at least you got the unlimited 4g plan before it they change it.

Same situation here.... :/
,
I am right in the city of chicago but outside downtown. I had sprint and the evo and their 4g was seriously terrible. Could only get a poor connection when the phone was balanced on the window ledge with the window open. The 4g would not go through the newer vinyl windows. I also could never get a signal inside most other buildings. I could literally only get it reliably when I was totally out in the open (even outside my house at ground level I could not get a connection). So, wimax on sprint's frequency sucks. I paid my $140 etf and switched to verizon where I pay $10 less per month f*** sprint.
verizon LTE 4g coverage is just amazing. Im on it right now in an interior room of my apartment nowhere near a window. I get 4g everywhere I go, I am never nervous about the connection dropping. This is how a network should function. Sprint is just awful and i will never use them again in my life. I would seriously get a land line before I got sprint wireless again. Verizon is so impressive to me.

I was excited to see the 4G icon, so I called Verizon to confirm that it is permanent and not just a test. So far, been getting amazing speeds. 7 mbps down, 2 mbps up.

mine popped up at 6 i went in the gym with gym and when i started working out i had 4g. ran speedtest and got 19m that could be dangerous
I was waiting for it to kick in today. But Verizon surprised me with the turn on a day early. Woot. Loving the speed boost for sure.
Im glad my fellow Ohians are catching up to the west of me
Well it is great to hear that 4g is finally avail to different company besides tmobile in the miami valley i hope you guys enjoy but hey once you blow up your contract with data overages and need an out come c me for cricket
What areas of Dayton at you getting the hookup? My parents live in Germantown so I highly doubt I'll get anything when visiting but I'm curious to know if it's just the city limits or surrounding areas as well. I live in Columbus but can get 4G at work in Dublin/Hilliard too.

I was in Troy/Piqua yesterday. Sorry no yummy 4G lovin' up that far. Ironically, the wife and I both had to restart our phones when we came back to Dayton before they would resume 4G service. Hopefully the next bug fix will resolve that.
I'm in the Cincinnati Hamilton area, had 4g since day 1. Glad to see Dayton join [email protected] dexter, I have an extra t- bolt laying around I been wanting to try to flash to cricket. If you dont mind getting ahold of me for a how to that would be great, if not that's cool to.

you only get 1x internet on cricket if you flash over a thunderbolt. Not really worth it. It will be almost useless.

1x and 3g are currently working in hawaii. I already called technical support. They have no reports of any current outages or planned maintenance. I did get a lot of calls from friends with lte phone calling me to confirm if mines were out as well.
I will report back when it is up and running. (I need to get netflix back up to watch my season of Chobits)
Lte is back up and everything is alright in the world.

Nope, it's limited by coverage area, but I know what you mean. Speedy speedy!

Yea, I hate to champion one corrupt corporation over another, but I'd much rather be on at&t's network since the fall-back network is still leaps and bounds faster than Verizon's fall-back network (and they have had a number of outages on their LTE network this year so far). Fortunately I live in San Antonio so I have access to 3 major carriers' LTE networks.
That said, at&t can piss off with their restrictive policies. I only hate Verizon slightly more.
But my God 25mbs is amazing if could offer that every where I pay tom more I just wish my wifi that fast

I get LTE for AT&T in weird places here. I live in Oklahoma and get LTE of course in the bigger areas but sometimes LTE 4g in like small towns kind of cool but kind of weird.
You think 25Mbps is fast, check my sig...
Lol yeah. I just came back from Anaheim. Hot damn. 16 Mbps. But speed test used up 30 MB of data... I'm now being charged $30 for using 204.6 MB of data. >_>

4G is awesome, and dont know how I could go back. The other day I got 58.66 download and 20.79 upload in the far west suburbs of Chicago!
cool man. I got the thunderbolt when it first came out & had to wait nearly a year for 4g.
saw someone on craigslist was selling a gs3 & offered to trade him both my razr & rezound phones for it. he ended up taking just the razr + $60 in trade(still have my rezound).
hopefully this phone is awesome(unlike that horrid galaxy nexus) ;D
I got 4G everywhere except my house... It's a deadzone in my house only. My driveway however.. Great coverage

I pre ordered my galaxy s3 AFTER the deadline to keep unlimited data but for some weird reason I still have unlimited data? Which is also why I pretty much tether every day and download torrents on my phone on the fly when I'm not near my laptop.

Great News Good 4U Rock On Dude.:victory:
I'm on east coast just starting to get 4G now. Before
this had to drive 30 miles or more to see 4G. Funny all
this while VZ is announcing 4G now available in place's like
Mud Barf,Missouri pop.64 , Foggy Valley Arkansas pop. 4.5.:cyclops:
Can't figure why it's taking so long to finish their home state.
But That's Just My Opinion. I Could Be Wrong.....
I remember first seeing the 4g on my charge here in Albuquerque. It was about 2 am, by morning it was gone, guess they where just testing. A couple weeks after that it turned back on, and stayed.

Sounds like me and T-Mobile. I tried T-Mo a couple of years back and I found a dead zone around my house, unlike you, it extended about 2 blocks to the west, north and south and about 1/2 block to the east.
I've never understood dead spots, I'm right in the middle of a triangle of T-Mo antennas and I suspect that may relate to the dead spot?
My sister's house in California is a dead spot for VZW! She has a GREAT Sprint signal but her house is in a direct line to a Sprint tower with a VZW tower right in line behind it, I have to believe that the Sprint tower somehow blocks the VZW signal? I only have to move 50 yards away to get a VERY strong VZW signal.
Anyone have any explanation as to how one tower can block another or why being in the center of a 3 tower triangle can kill a signal?
I just ass-U-me it's voodoo!
I have 4G at the university I attend and my house just got 4G last week. Holy crap!

I thought about a range extender at my house, but I'm not shelling out a few hundred for that ****. I can use WiFi at my house. Plus I'm military and move all the time. By this time next year I'll be in Rota Spain and it won't matter then because there is no VZW
