Did you try removing the battery and then putting it back in. Then powering it on.
What had you just done to/with your phone before you restarted?
If you have rooted just boot into recovery wit power button and up volume button

tried flashing kindacrapmods onto cleanrom 3.0. I selected odexed instead of deodexed which has now caused my phone to freeze in boot animation screen. pull battery and try to manually get into recovery but it just freezes into animation screen again. please help!
Are you holding vol up + home while powering on to get into recovery? If you are trying to get recovery you shouldnt be making it as far as a boot animation.
If boot animation is loading then you are not accessing bootloader menu option. Try the above suggestion but hold power for a longer time period... Let us know if that works

hmmm pulled battery for a long time and it seemed to let me into recovery. I think I got it under control now. thank you!
Came back to my phone this afternoon and it was restarting. Put it down to let it boot, and 5 minutes later, it was still booting. Then I noticed that it was in a boot loop. Tried pulling the battery and putting it back in, then holding the power and volume up to get to recovery, but it will not go into recovery mode. Need some suggestions. Has android 2.3.6 I believe, nothing special.

Just took the Lollipop OTA update from stock 4.4.2. Upon completion my phone rebooted and is stuck on the LG boot logo. I tried entering download mode (holding volume up button and plugging phone into computer) but my phone doesn't enter it. Attempting to power off the phone doesn't work either, since the phone just powers off for a second and turns back on to the boot logo. I tried factory reset (power + volume down) and after proceeding with the reset the phone is still stuck on boot logo. What should I do?

You can power off if you hold power button longer. wait till logo appears, and still hold, till it gone away second time, and hold even a little longer.
Turns off but still stuck at logo when turned on

After i flashed the Lollipop firmware, it looked like the phone got stuck with LG logo but i gave it good 5 to 6 minutes and all was fine. The phone just needed to breathe a little.
Hi guys,
So my buddy rooted my phone for me and had me on lollipop. Somehow I connected my phone to my friends samsung fast charger and my phone updated normally, and now my phone is stuck at the verizon loading screen on my phone. I can't open the fast boot with the hard commands, (Volume down and holding power button). The only thing I can do is do the soft reboot with the volume up and power button. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would be fine with doing a clean reset or even going back to stock I really just need my phone to be working.

When you do volume up and power you need to time it right to switch to holding vol down in order to enter boot loader. If you wait for the battery to die you can also boot into boot loader by holding vol down when you connect it to the charger and it gets enough of a charge to boot.

So whats the exact combination? You hold down power button and volume up and then switch to volume down when the screen goes black? Thanks for the help.

Yeah it does take a little practice. I've had a lot of practice at it now I seem to have that problem most often when trying to change boot animations, it will get stuck at the Verizon boot image and after about 5 minutes of waiting I end up doing this.
I have an OG Pixel which is stuck in a boot loop. I can get it into the boot loader by holding down power and volume down, but that doesn't get me very far. If I select recover mode, it shows me the Google splash screen like it's booting up, but then just powers off. The splash screen comes back on as it powers up, but it just repeats this endlessly over and over. Any suggestions on how I can get into recovery mode and reflash it? Am I right thinking that would help?
