Hi Photon community,
please find attached a patch to the sensor library.
i tested it on my phone, schlund too, it seems to works well.
if some of you can test it, can you send us feedback if it works better than before?
installation is simple:
unzip install.rar, copy folder "install" to your SDcard root, boot android:
library shall be installed.
this shall fix two issues.
the g-sensor will be fixed soon.
edit: LED keybd fixed, attachement updated.
Thanks! Is this from mahimahi device?
Update:
unzip install.rar, copy folder "update" to your SDcard root, boot android
Thanks Mr r0bin
the sensor worked well, but the light keys not worked
thanks for ur time
I tried and see light keys are always on
after the second attempt,This happened : power button no longer works, seems to be frozen,Press Volume + and power together not working i will need to remove the battery
now I tried a third time and I do not have that problem to freeze, power button works as before.
question: is it normal that after androd booted disappear folder "update" ?
Proximity working perfect, but light sensor I think not, also keypad led not working!
Update:
Ufff sorry, light sensor is perfect also!
Thanks robin&schlund!
now some feedback:
keypad light is working, but just with a lil issue, when screen light goes half off keypad lights are still 100% on(hope you get what i mean)
and also when u click the power button keypad lights are 100% on,and on WM is less.
and one more thing..when they are not touched they need to be half off so we can preserve battery
thanks for your feedback!
yes, LED are not working yet, it needs to be fixed.

There are two update folders after extraction. Copy and paste only the second folder (which also happens to be labelled "update" folder) to your SDCard\ root directory!

Maybe this belongs in the development area but...
The evo3d got a notification led wich i like...what about if we can make the capacitive button led's blink or something when we have a mail and sms...
Maybe more guys have this idea but well....tell me if its possible and a good idea
It is probably possible and I think developers will have a hand on it if they havent yet.
It will be eventually supported.
this idea is awesome. i think it is possible

Glad someone's liking it
This would be a nice to have for sure. If can light up those "buttons" to use for notification, it will be great.
This is already done with O2X, so it is definitely on the way for us
My previous phone was GalaxyS which had no led aswell.
I used a programmed called NoLed on the Galaxy. Installed on Optimus 3d and seems to work fine.

It doesnt support the capacitive button led's.
Sorry i was only suggesting this as a temporary alternative until further developments.
I really like this idea!
But is it possible to expand on it further?
Since there's 4 capacitive buttons on the phone, are we able to make them blink individually?
For example... home button blinks when we have a missed call, menu button blinks when we have a message, back button blinks when we have an email, and etc?
Noled seems to be working fine for me...

Unfortunately not. As the app page states, AMOLED uses no power displaying a fully black pixel so displaying alerts on the screen takes very little power.
Now as the O3D has an old fashioned LCD, it consumes potentially a ton of power just to turn the screen on at all, because it has to light the whole screen just to start. Plus, it uses the MOST power displaying black (least displaying all white), so it would need the opposite behaviour.
[UPDATE]
Ah I see you can make the screen blink, I didn't notice that at first. Might actually be useful then.
i've tested it with the developer of the LG notification app. it seems, that the files which have to be used are'nt writeable. so without root it won't work
perhaps we should send tons of mails to LG, that they make it possible.

Hi guys,
I've modified Martin Börjesson's app and now it works on ROOTed O3D and I'll upload it soon.
To-do:
1) fading doesn't work
2) change of brightness doesn't work
What will never work
1) separate LEDs - I don't think there's a way to control each of them, only all 4 LEDs

Hi
I have a problem with downloading app
Cane you upload to other server
Megaupload or rapid
Thankyou
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA App
I`ve been looking everywhere to find a solution but didn`t found one. To be more precise, both sensors (proximity and light) work occasionally, sometimes they work just fine and then suddenly stop working.
I`m using Andro Sensor to check the sensors and there is "Waiting for event" message for both light and proximity.
I don`t think it`s a hardware problem as they were working when bought the phone and they still work occasionally. My phone is rooted and i`m on latest ARHD now with Sebastian kernel.Maybe someone knows how to fix this as it`s very annoying (automatic brightness and capacitive backlights not working because of this as well).Any help would be much appreciated.
Had that problem to,
After a lot off searching i found this.
Enter the line in your build.prop at the botten
ro.mot.buttonlight.timeout=0
Then reboot 2x
Worked for me.

You have to have root and es fileExplorer.
Set system to rw and goto system/build.prop
Open with text editor and ad the line at the bottem of the text.

It was working partially (only proximity, not capacitive lights) after two restarts but it`s not working anymore.I have re-flashed the ROM and repeated the process but no response from both sensors.

Sorry to here that,i am suffering the same torture.
Still no solution for this problem then...
Tried booting in totaal dark ?
Worked till next boot for me..(after reset)
Suffering the same problem, tried to solve it via the method in build.prop but nothing has changed
Does anyone have afix for this issue yet? I am suffering from the same problem running the 3.33 firmware and Cyanogenmod 9.1 final.
Hi everyone,
I found a great app that can blink LED when you get whatsapp/sms/incoming call notifications. Link is below. It works fine, is very much customizable. however it does cause force close once in 2 days or so. The dev might not support this project further, can anyone fix the fcs if possible?
Also, the whatsapp function does not support devices like xperia arc. Is it fixable?
Thanks, enjoy

I have a P8 Max also. Light manager didn't work with it, but Light Flow does. Use that instead.
Ok thank you, I will try it, but I will miss the "Do not disturb" setting" in light manager.
I have to use this built-in function in Emui but it's disturbing, as the phone vibrate when disabling it in the morning. Would there be a way to silence it?
Thank you

I believe light flow functions in the exact same ways. It has a lot of options built in. Play around with the settings.
On my european Mate 9 light manager works without problems.
I have a common problem in all ROMs I'm installing . whenever I answer a call or dial a call my screen goes off as if proximity sensor is activated and doesn't turn on even when I take it away from my ear or press my power button. Screen doesn't turn on at all during call.
Phone remains fine for a day or two after I wipe cache etc from recovery but again the problem starts. This happens in all custom roms and also in rooted stock ROM. My device is XT 1055.
Kindly suggest any solution as it causes lot of inconvenience.

Your device is a Moto X (1st generation/2013 )? A quick Google search would tell you this is a Proximity Sensor issue, it is device specific whether anything can be done or not, so you might want to check your device's group.

I too did proximity sensor calibration but it worked only for few times. But the only solution that's working is whenever screen goes blank I rub with my finger on proximity sensor area for 3-4 times as if like cleaning it. Immediately the screen lights up. This is the solution am doing since past few times and its working consistently.

Yes u can disable the proximity sensor.....
Procedure:
1. The device need to be rooted
2. Install the xposed module
3. After installing search for sensor Disabler apk in xposed module
4. Install sensor Disabler and open the app and select the proximity sensor.
5. Select the value of proximity sensor to Maximum level and save it
6. Do the reboot
This whole procedure will disable ur proximity sensor ie ur screen will no go blank on any call.
Note : Xposed installer for nougat ROM is in development phase ...
Do it ur own risk I'm not responsible for any harm.
All the best :good::laugh:

To my knowledge it is not there... U can Google it bro
As I'm also facing this problem...
Some info about xposed....
Xposed is not compatible with Nougat, the truth is it may never be a viable option again due to security changes in Android. The developers have said that Xposed is on it's last legs, the changes in Android and the security are becoming impossible to work around. Remember last year at this time, the developers of Xposed had mostly given up and thrown in the towel and said Xposed was dead with Marshmallow, but they got lucky and found a work around just before completely giving up. They have not as yet found such a exploit to make it work, and if they do it will only be temporary as the next version of Android will probably close it again. They may get it to work with Nougat, or maybe not, either way best bet is to learn to live without it, because it will be gone before too long.

hi buddy i have a solution for this hope this will be helpful............
i have flashed the cm 12.1 yesterday on my moto g3 and since yesterday i didn't faced the problem of screen going off on call .....
this conclude that rom is somewhere responsible for screen off during call on some phones( my opinion )
you can try this if u want:fingers-crossed:
