Problem creating custom wallpaper - Thunderbolt General

Hi all, I am trying to create a custom wallpaper from a png. I scaled the image to 480x800 and copied it to my SD card. When I apply it as wallpaper, I see only a small portion of the image. I am not even able to select the entire thing. Is there some voodoo to creating the wallpaper?

[Q] Remove/replace MobileOperator splash screen

I've just installed this ROM on my Orange SPV C600. However, I find the MobileOperator splash screen and shutdown screen to be rather tacky and want to replace them. The problem is that the images for both are in .png format but the image I want to replace them with is animated and hence must be in .gif form.
Is there a way to replace the screens with my animated one? I've tried looking in the registry for startup references pertaining to the MobileOperator images so that I can modify the data but can't find any.
Thanks.

[Q] Add walls to Launcher2?

Hey guys,
I loathe swiping through my gallery (lousy with hundreds of pages of album/ebook cover art) to get to my Wallpaper album, then resizing the crop as best I can, and repeating the same process next month when I want to try another wall.
What I'd like to do is just add a bunch of wallpapers to the drawable-xlarge-nodpi folder in my Launcher2.apk so they'll show up in the stock wallpaper picker.
I've selected a bunch of 1920x1408 walls and made "blahblah_small" 180x180 versions (I'd like thumbnails to show up in the picker). I tried using Zipthemer to create a CWM-installable updated Launcher2 to include these changes, but just can't seem to figure it out.
I've also tried renaming to .zip, unzipping, adding the walls, rezipping, renaming to .apk and pushing that, but Android won't install the .apk. Do I need to delete the META-INF signatures folder and figure out some way to sign the .apk? Can I sign an apk w/o the SDK?
I know Roach has that extra wallpaper in Prime (nigh version of the Asus default wall), so basically, how did he do that?
Also, the default wallpapers are in drawable-large-nodpi, the Asus default (tree scene) is in drawable-xlarge-nodpi. The xlarge-nodpi folder has no META-INF stuff, so I figured if I threw the wallpapers in there, the picker would just show them.

[Q] Wallpaper size

Hopefully someone can answer this for me.
Why is it that no matter what size I save an image as that the wallpaper setter always wants me to crop it? I just ran an image through Gimp to re-size it to fit the dimensions of the boot image for the boot image app, bit even at 255x320 the wallpaper tool wants to crop most of the image away. What size image does the darn thing want? Maybe I'm a tech-tard, but I thought I should be able to figure this out on my own.
Thanks for any help you can give me on this, it's been bugging me for a while now.
Can't remember exactly what the wallpaper size is, but I do know I could never get it to work.
Here's what I learnt off another post here.
Download Wallpaper Slide show (Birbeck) from the Market and download any size wallpaper and point the app to that folder, usually downloads. Then select wallpaper slide show under live wallpapers, have it set randomn or whatever you want.
Then you have nice pictures with no need to mess about cropping or downloading exact sizes.
You can change wallpapers on the fly just by tapping on the screen.
Thanks Xoom68,
I'll give it a try.
Try 1920 x 1408

use 540x960 image as wallpaper without cropping

android always asks me to crop the image, but i just want to use the whole thing as a non-scrollable background. how do i do it? thanks!
p.s. rom=hypernonsense
Wallpaper Wizardrii from the market. Select your picture, use non-scroll and scale options. Problem solved.
thanks, got it!
