HP Touchpad & TigerDirect - WebOS Software and Hacking General

Just a heads up for any that are looking to buy a Touchpad. Stay clear of Tigerdirect. I am having an all around terrible experience with my order. My first and last purchase from Tigerdirect.

Sorry to hear you're having such troubles with TigerDirect, I've ordered many parts for my computers or whoever I'm building for and have never had any issues.

Same here. The few issues I have had they settled quickly and fairly.

Is Amazon sold out?
On a side note, if you're still in Flagstaff, my gtab shipped from Amazon in Arizona, so you could get one fast, even with slow shipping options.
Had it shipped to Yuma and arrived next day for me.
I was looking for a used one but ill check it out. Thanks

Need find the way to change to Android!
is there any possibility of getting honeycomb to run over webOS or in place of it? If that's possible, I'd be all over that.
hell even if android couldn't be ported over, it's still a great deal to watch movies on and browse the web with flash
Craigslist is the best list

No. Craigslist would be people buying for 99/150 16/32 GB units and trying to sell them for 200/250, just like eBay.

This is exactly what is happening, funny you said that. Just went on craigslist and people are overpricing, but you can still buy it. Best Buy is selling it now also, and RadioShack might!
i just purchased one from the hp small business website.

How much is a dock really worth?

I'm really itching to get a dock, but from what I've read is a tablet + dock shouldn't be more than $150. Problem is I was thinking of trying to trade an iPod 3rd Gen for one. I've no clue of the value of the iPod or what gb it is though.

Check eBay and local prices.
The tablet with dock is going for $250+ on eBay, consistantly, not $150+ - check the prices and perhaps use a price-tracker app. You might get a better deal on Craigslist since people often use that to try to make a quick sale.

Checked Craigslist but I live in Mississippi and can't find a dock even in surrounding states for some reason. I've got a tablet, bought it last year on sale so I don't need that. I read a few posts saying $150, guess they were wrong as I'm seeing non working tabs for $100
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
Usually you can get the dock refurbished from stores around 90-120$... but all the stores seem to be out of stock now.
Alright I guess I'll see if I can sell this iPod at a pawnshop and see if they'll give me enough for a dock.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
You should be able to get just the dock for about $99, I think.

I wish this forum still had a marketplace. I literally haven't used my dock in 3 or 4 months (I just charge it up once in a while to keep the battery healthy). It's in good shape and I even still have the box.
I guess what I'm getting at is pm me if you are interested in possibly buying from another xda member.

Phone Buying/Selling Sites

since xda marketplace has been closed, i have had a hard time finding another forum site to buy phones.
what do u guys use?
(not including craigslist)
What is wrong with craigslist? I have bought, sold, and traded many phones locally through cl.

eBay n locally for me mercadlibre
I bought this phone on eBay. Great dude, phone perfect. Just make sure you're covered and that there are no omissions or anything in the listing.
Craigslist is okay, but it's a little bit more complicated to not get burned and you're best looking for advice pertaining to your carrier.
There are also some phone market sites, but I've never used them.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
eBay is a great option. You have to be very patient and wait for the right deals. Don't overpay. Do some research to understand what the used price is for the phone you're looking for.

TF300 repared or buy the ME301

I have the TF300 already but the screen is shattered and I'm not brave enough to replace it myself. I went to a local shop the guy said he would charge me 75.00 plus parts. I was looking around trying to price the parts and stumbled upon the ME301 for 235. I see they're pretty much the same except for the screen based upon reviews but I thought I'd ask people that have used both. Is it work it to replace the screen or just get the net one?

You could even find the tf700 for that cheap.
Didn't they have more I/O issues and WiFi connectivity is spotty.
