[Q] Chrome to Phone - Not compatible with Desire S - HTC Desire S

Hi guys,
Looked at the Market and found out that Chrome to Phone is not compatible with the Desire S
Am I the only one getting this problem and is there a workaround?
Thank you

Has worked fine for me from day one with the Desire S. Try unistalling from both phone and Chrome, then install again.
Mike.

Works perfectly - you need it installed on both on your phone as an extension on your PC

What I meant was that android market website says my phone is incompatible and won't let me install.
Worked around by getting an apk from somewhere else.
Anyway thanks for all your help!

That is odd. Not an issue with my Desire S.

No problems at all with this thing, too

It's not the phone actually, it's the country (click the small plus icon). I had the same thing, just some bull**** for "lesser" countries. Search the apk on XDA, that's how I got it and it works fine.

Help: Wonky Android market

I have 3 android devices: htc dream (g1), htc desire hd and the viewsonic g tablet.
I've been using the latter two as day to day devices while the former is just an old phone. Yesterday, (against my better judgement), I rooted my old g1 and installed gingerbread. I ran the android market on it and shortly after, all my apps listed under «my apps» disappeared from the market on my desire hd and g1 tablet. Now the page just shows my purchased apps and tells mè I have nothing installed on my devices.
The web market works just fine. What the heck is going on?
Sorry if there was a similar post, I searched but couldn't find it. If you could point me in the right direction for a fix, it will be much appreciated

Google Earth

Anyone able to install Google Earth on the sensation yet? Searched for it on market place and while it's there, once I chose it, it wont see my device and won't let me install it.
If I browse from my phone I can't even see it.
Does that mean its not supported or summit else ?
I have it on mine
Works just fine

Have you tried to open the market on your phone, then menu, settings and allow all applications? I got it and works fine... otherwise you can find it directly on the market place : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.earth&feature=search_result
Depends which region you are in and which market and if the regiuonal market supports that particular device/ROM. I cannot get it from the market here in Singapore on the Sensation but do have it on the Flyer.

Am I the only one who has problems with Google Earth?
I mean, using normal view is ok even with ground elevation, but if I switch on 3D buildings the app becomes slower than a snail on a turtle. Of course Sense restarts when I exit.
This sure isn't a cpu issue since this happens both with stock [email protected] and [email protected] Judging from the fact that the app itself eats up almost 100-200mb or RAM (with buldings off and on respectively) it sure is a memory issue. Anything else I could try?
At least I found an easy way to clear ram when I need it or when Sense starts restarting itself! I experienced multiple restarts a while ago, free ram was always below 80mb with nothing running. So I just opened the app, browsed around the map with buildings off, and then closed it through task manager.
I'm at 180-150mb now and it hasn't dropped since
Google earth is on play store and it works great

[Q] Market.android.com won't see my device

Hey guys,
I'm having a few issues. I just reflashed InsertCoin 3.4.5 and then upgraded to 3.4.6. I set everything up and the market app on my sensation works just fine. But when I want to install a bunch of apps I usually use market.android.com. Before my most recent reflash, everything worked fine. The only difference is that I use 2-step authentication now ever since my Nexus S got stolen. Can't be too safe.
Anyway, market.android.com won't see my Sensation.
Any ideas?
-Matthew
Ya use the market app or go on your computer and add them to your downloads from there

.....
Does anyone have the solution for this? I'm having the same problem...
Maybe its because the market isn't recognised the ics, this happens a few times and is usually solved just by waiting.

I've got same problem, plus hundreds of games and apps has disappeared from play store, using see arc s, apps I've got installed no longer compatible, tech support told me to do a factory reset, no way, if that doesn't work how will I install all my apps again, 2.3.4 gingerbread, doomkernel v 22
That seems like a mess...
Lets give it a fresh start, which firmware version/rom/kernel are you on?

Delete your Google account from accounts & sync.
Reboot to recovery, wipe Cache +dalvik.
Reboot.
Add your Google account.
Enable the option "Keep this device backed up with my Google account" to automatically restore missing apps.
Do this, and it should be fine.

no longer a major concern with the new google play.
personally, I find it a lot easier to pick what to reinstall from the website via a desktop.
this is the response i got from Google play support, Thanks for following up and for providing those additional details about the issue you're experiencing on Google Play. In reviewing the information you've provided as well as our records, it appears that this issue is related to the fact that you're not using the authorized ROM that came with your device - using any ROM besides the factory default may cause the device to have limited functionality and may cause unexpected behavior with the Google Play Store app. Unfortunately, we won't be able to troubleshoot this issue further because the issue appears to be unique to the way your device is configured, and we can't recreate the issue with our devices here. To resolve the issue, I recommend using the authorized Android operating system provided by your manufacturer that can be obtained from their website or your carrier.

StarWars Angry Birds not available ?

It doesn't appear in Google Play, if I check the web version of play store it says its not compatible with my phone (Vodafone UK HTC Desire S).
Is this Vodafone, Revio or Google blocking it ? I'm pretty sure it will work fine from what I've seen online where it works on lower end phones ok

Its still not available on Vodafone UK in play store app or via web. Via web I sign in, find app but it says its not compatible with my device. Same on my friends custom rom unbranded Desire S.
How can other people be getting it officially ?
Are you using a custom Rom, if you are, check your build.prop file /system/build.prop, there may be a entry in there that's the issue

those of you who couldn't download star wars from play store as it shows "incompatible", consider upgrade to 4.1 or higher. At least that worked for me.
was using CM7.2 and couldn't download it. No i'm on CM10. downloads and works fine.
I had problems downloading some apps from the google play when i was using gingerbread. Im now using a miui jellybean rom and i can download the same apps i couldnt before.
