Hi All,
I have an O2 XDA 2i using the newest version of the ROM off o2.co.uk's website and I am having problems with TomTom 5.21
Every time I get a voice instruction it will then lose the GPS signal for up to 2 seconds afterwards. (Annoying if you are driving in an area you don't know that well (hence using GPS...) and you don't know for instance exactly which the 3rd turn off a roundabout is as the road isnt clear)
Also periodically (approx once every 30 to 45 mins but sometimes more often) the whole phone will just freeze, no buttons not even the power button works and I have to reset the phone. Obviously not easy whilst driving around.
I am using a Holux CR-100 GPS car mount,
ROM Versions are as follows:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio version: 1.00.00
Protocol version: 1337.39
ExtROM version: 1.11.169 WWE
TomTom reports the following on it's "Show Version" screen:
PocketPC device
App version 5.210 (5430)
Free RAM: 31.8 mb
GPS driver v1.20
Map: 'Great-Britain-Map' v562
Language: English UK
If there is any other information which might help please let me know. Hope that perhaps someone can help me???
Thanks in advance

hi what you need is a faster sd card it is a known fact the the xda2i has speed issues ,we seem to have come to some agreement that the transcend 80x card is the best around ,well it was for me ever since i have bought it my lockups have decreased by about 98%
Also you have the known-to-be-buggy .169 ext ROM AND the very basic radio stack ver 1.00
You would be much better flashing the ExtROm to .162 (either with the O2 stuff or without) and the latest (& more stable) Radio stack 1.04
There are other posts on this in the forums with all the links )
here's a link to a modded rom like I used:
ftp://xda:[email protected] XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04.rar
if you want the different flavours, just ftp into the site & pick the one you want, either with or without the O2 bloatware stuff, the ftp username is xda, pwd xda.
It's easy to do: I took mine from the exact flavour you have to .162 & radio 1.04 & it;s much more stable now, no TT 5.21 probs at all and better BT support as well 8)
Joe
hope this helps
Morning,
Thanks for your help - I downgraded the ROM and upgraded the Radio stack and TomTom still crashed. Must be the SD card - will be nipping down Maplin at lunch and buying a high speed SD card - hopefully sort out the remaining problems.
Interesting observation... since doing the above mentioned upgrade the power light flashes green even when the phone is switched to flight mode - is this usual?
Cheers
G
Actually looking at Device Info, it's not downgraded the ExtROM, but it has upgraded the Radio:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio version: 1.04.00
Protocol version: 1337.39
ExtROM version: 1.11.169 WWE
I used the modified ROM that you had linked in your post - did I do something wrong?
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone! First post in here, 3 month owner of a Treo750. I expect to hang around here for a long while, really interesting stuff going on around here. Hope I can learn a trick or two.
I have a Treo 750, unbranded and unlocked I believe. I'm in Costa Rica and all cellphones here are unlocked. I want to upgrade to WM6 and I've read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334100 and http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Cheetah_Upgrade.
I'm just wondering a couple of things before making a move. First I wasn't able to upgrade using the update from the palm support site since the language in my phone is in spanish, (at least that was the error message I got). Here is the info I have from my phone:
Software Version: TREO750-1.16RWS
Hardware Version: A
Serial Number: PRGU08B7H087
Phone Number: my phone number
Firmware Version: 1.27.0b.03
IMEI: *****************
SA NO: 10017102
*If there is any information I shouldn't post just pm me and I'll edit it.
Now, a couple of questions:
-What is the SA No?
-Am I able to update to WM6? If it's in English way better! If so, just follow the instructions in those links?
-What about the info in my cell? I can just copy some docs from work from my SD card to my PC, but what about my contacts? That's something I would rather not have to redo. I know they are synced back automatically but this leads to my other question:
-Could there be any problem if I have WM5 right now, and the next sync happens with WM6?
Thank you very much for this, I've been looking forward for WM6 for some time now. BTW, since I'm not native English speaker, if you find any grammatical or spelling error just let me know, ok?
Helpp to change language
I give my TREO 750v with software 1.12-VFF to a friend of mine because he knows how to update to WM6, and he did, the problem he updated to French WM6, and I dont understand nothing about French, Is there a way to change to English? or I need to install another WM6 upgrade in English, and if so how I do?
I really need your help, and I know I was a dump because of these but I really need step by step guidance on how to solve this matter.
Thanks
J.J.
am a new memeber here and had put a small querry on 710 for help.guess since it was a generic question as to how to start/where to start-most info is avl in various threads--however my problem is am new to the world of winmo and am not able to comprehend properly(pardon my ignorance pl!!).have purchased a vodafone vda v (aka htc s710 if i am not mistaken),unlocked with wm6 standard.Dear Sir you write a lot of posts here and bail out qutie a few troubled souls, hence asking for some help myself
1. can i upgrade to winmo6.5 straight away or does that jeopardise my warranty??would love to upgrade!. if yes how to go about it??my present config as displayed on phone is
wm 6.0 standard ce os 5.2.1236(build17741.0.2.1),
radio version4.1.13.38_02.84.90, rom version1.17.162.3
2. when i try to do windows update it doesnt and volume is pretty low???
3. i connected to my laptop which is win7 same detected it via winmo device centre.
4. the user guide that came in box was in german(i cant read german) hence downloaded an english version from net.phone is otherwise working fine-so is wi fi ,but want to tweak the same for better performance.
I would greatly appreciate if you help a novice like me to get going on this phone. Thanks a ton in advance.
When I type in the registration keys I'm told they're incorrect. Most of the apps I'm trying to instal are the same ones I had on my previous phone the Tilt 2 so I know I have the keys right. One issue that perhaps might be causing this, is there being no where to fill in the owner's information for the phone. All I can do to identify myself as the owner of this phone is to fill out the contact card in the phonebook. If this indeed is the cause of my problems how do I remedy it? Here's the info on my HD2 if it will help. Model Number HTC HD2 T8585 OS Version 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82) Mania Version 2.5.19211019.0 ROM Version 1.66.405.2 (76641)WWE ROM Date 01/11/10 Thanks to anyone willing to try or is able to assist me.
Change
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner]
"Hide"=dword:00000000
"Group"=dword:00000000
Reboot. Fill up Owner Info.
Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum and I have hesitated for a long time before I signed up. The reason for my hesitation: I didn't want to start off crying for help. Nevertheless here I am. After about a week of searching this forum and www I thought what the heck. That is the purpose of a forum, to share knowledge.
I am a (German) retiree living for many years in El Salvador, I’m old but because of my curiosity I feel quite comfortable with modern technology. I have installed and configured Garmin Mobile XT (which I found on the web while looking for answers) and it works perfectly.
I just got a Samsung SGH-i637, non-touch-screen, in the US known as Jack (internet wisdom) and distributed by AT&T and with a specific keyboard layout (AT&T button).
I want to use voice commands.
Every lead I found refers to that particular AT&T button to activate voice commands.
Because my phone is not from AT&T, it does not have this button. It has the Windows Live Messenger button instead which, surprise surprise, takes me to Windows Live Messenger.
Some people said to look in Start-Settings-System. No such thing in my phone either. (or is it hidden?)
Just as I have surfed the net for days I have done the same of all the menus in my phone.
Specifications of my Samsung SGH-i637:
OS: Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard CE OS 5.2.20293 (Build 20293.1.3.10)
Radio Version: i637WMIH1
RIL Version: 2.002
How to activate Voice Commands?
Now my questions:
How to access that option?
Does WIN Mobile 6.1 support that option?
Do I have to upgrade to WIN Mobile 6.5?
Is an upgrade recommended? (Pros/Cons)
I really hope that some merciful soul can take this burden off my shoulders before my days run out .
