How to SYNC internet bookmark with gmail/google
Anybody knows how to do this ?
My idea is that I have some internet bookmarks on my device, and I want these automatically synched with my google/gmail account.
So if I flash my Flyer and make a full wipe , I want my internet bookmarks automatically uploaded into my Flyer just like my contacts would.
Any ideas or tips ?

The 2 ways that i have done this so far are either use opera browser for everything and use the sync on that (works ok actually) or use Dolphin browser and the dolphin bookmarks to sd app to sync from gmail account (not automatic).
You would of thought with it been Android and Google they would of made it like the Google Chrome browser so that everything is synced with your account.
In your favourites of IE on your PC, make a new folder named as "HTC bookmarks"
Add in the sites you want to bookmark in this folder.. sync using HTC sync.. it will automatically put all on the phone and add from the phone to the IE..

Hey guys!
Just wondering does anybody have any of the google apps.. i would like to use gmail, calendar and other google apps.. but it wont let me download the apps.. does any one know why?
or even better if any body has the .cab files for google apps, would be much appreciated!!
thank you
indeed this would be useful, any help?
Maybe I am wrong, but as far as I know Google apps are not installed on your PDA. You access them thru your browser or thru Active Sync and your standard email account.
I get my email from gmail, sync my calender and contacts with google thru Active Sync as if I access a Exchange Server.

Google do offer some applications that you can install on your PDA. There was a gMail client that they were promoting for a while. There is also a synchronisation application that works between gmail contacts and the contacts on your phone (I am sure that you can Google these applications )
I don't think that the client was successful as other clients like Fring allow you to connect to multiple IM systems.
Try with IE mobile, it worked fine for me...
Maybe google website doesn't recognize the D2 Opera browser as a Windows Mobile browser
Hi,
is there a way to sync or transfers my Internet Explorer favorites (or google chrome).
In chrome there is a sync option but I don't know what it does.
thanks
how have you guys been syncing your Thunderbolt to your PC? I use Outlook for contacts/calendar and Chrome for a browser. This is my first android device so I am lost trying to get all this stuff on the phone. I had a windows mobile 6.5 phone prior to this and it made syncing a snap. Any tips would be appreciated.

They have a app for 39 bucks which requires 2 other apps to sync which is a rip in my thoughts .... what i did was export my contacts to a csv(windows) format file onto my desktop. From there i logged into my google account online, imported the csv file under the contacts page, and advanced. and then once the contacts were uploaded online, went into settings sync on my phone and added the gmail account there and everything was sync'd for FREE
*** For calendar appointments do the same
now u have the questions of updates, it's gonna be kinda tedious and i have NOT tried it yet but i was thinking every tyme i have a new contact or calendar item i will have to forward the individual contact as an attachement to my gmail and add to my contacts, and for the calendar appt i was thinking i can email the calendar appointment to the gmail adcount......
Googleapp sync will NOT work unless u have a GOOGLE Business account, i tried and failed :-(
Hope that helps
I tried using htsync but it locked up my pc every time.
I've recently switched browsers over to Chrome, seeing as my mobile is Android and now I've got a Transformer too.
I've set the TF's stock browser to sync with Chrome and when I go to Google in the browser, it displays my googlemail account confirming I'm logged in, same with my Chrome browser on my PC.
However, I've deleted all the pre-installed bookmarks, told it to sync with Chrome, but nothing happens! I notice it's set to sync to gmail in chrome - not googlemail - but as far as I know, it's supposed to be seamless between the two domains isn't it?
I can't see how to change my account over to gmail from googlemail to see if it IS that causing the problem either...
Any ideas please?
Thanks for any help if you can offer me some
My bookmark sync doesn't work either.
I've read elsewhere they changed db format on google's end back in July and it broke mobile bookmark sync - couls be FUD but I can't get it to sync with a brand new account let alone my primary one so it's hard to say.
Hello
I'm trying to figure out how to use the built-in web browser on my Android 4.0.3 tablet (Ainol Novo 7 Advanced II). As per the internet my Chrome bookmarks should be available on it. And I should be able to add bookmarks to my Chrome using Gmail account.
The adding bookmark feature in my tablet is only showing me Local account. And there is no way to make it show my Gmail account even though my device is synced up with my Gmail account, also in market and etc. places.
How do I make it available there?
Regards
Faraz Azhar
it will be in your Google account sync settings

I'm attaching another screenshot. The only few thins I see inside my gmail's sync settings are calendar, contacts, gmail, and the two software I recently installed Google Current and Google Chrome Beta. I checked these settings even prior to installing these two software, I couldn't see anything that would show that the default browser's bookmarks are being synced.
The only way for me to get my gmail sync folder in the bookmarks was to completely reset all the browser settings and data. (settings->application->internet-> delete cache and data). Then resync the bookmarks by going to sync+accounts in settings.
Finally the folder of my gmail account was visible in my bookmarks.
Does anyone know how to change my default bookmark storing-folder? Whenever I try to add a bookmark I have to change the folder manually to my gmail folder - quite annoying.
