So I got to play with this phone today and all I have to say is WOW I'm so impressed.... I felt like my G2x was outdated. The screen is amazing, light weight, amazing feel, new 3.0 UI is awesome, It just feels like my old nexus one. I only got to take 2pics. can't wait until june! I took just 2 pics, I didn't get to take many as the "anonymous" person that had it didn't let me take more lol.
If your thinking of getting the G2x for tmobile... Trust me, its right around the corner... Just hold off and wait on that sensation.

I hope they upgraded the Camera and loudspeaker, the IS has the same hardware of DHD!
I can imagine that with the new resolution the wallpapers will look perfect, though not super amoled + brightness and contrast
Sense 3.0 is the main reason I preffer Sensation over SGS2 but will not take the risk to buy it before it gets Root

I got to test the sensation in uk. The screen looked amazing the sound from the videos I saw were cool. Didn't get a chance to test thorough. I'm gonna wait for proper reviews from techradar and pocketnow. If they give thumbs up then that's cool by me. By the time they get it they should have the final rom.

That's cool. No need to get people in trouble. =P Did the phone at any point seem laggy or that it couldn't handle everything you were doing on it?

Hey man, sometimes you gotta leave well enough alone.. I went flash nuts on my DX, and obviously on my TP2 (WinLame), but with my TB I have really tried to tone it back a bit. These devices are getting more and more expensive and as cool as it is to constantly customize, take advantage of new features, etc... it's still just a phone. At some point it becomes an obsession and not jumping on GB like the masses, I have every right to be glad. It was worth a share anyway, I can't possibly be alone.

Same here. With my Droid 1 I flashed once every few days. Wasted so much time trying the latest and greatest. Now with my thunderbolt I'm trying to enjoy the phone and my life instead of spending 90% of my time flashing. I can't believe the latest GB radios are bricking phones. Just amazing... That said, I did have das bamf 2.0 for a week before going back to 1.6.3. Lol. Too addicting.

I got the GB bootloop. didn't think anything of it, just quickly restored BAMF, and no problems after that.
Then I read jcase's warning and reverted to VirusROM PDQ. I miss netflix, but I believe I'll wait for a more stable option. I can't afford another phone...

I will never go back to Froyo, new lockscreen and Netflix are great reasons to stick with GB

So yesterday I went into the store to play a little with the sensation and man I'm glad I got a G2x since release date and not waited for the Sensation. It felt slow all over the place and I compared everything with my G2x.
My G2x felt super smooth while the sensation was feeling laggy and stuttery.
Quadrant scores ( Rounded numbers)
Sensation - 1900
G2x - 2400 (Running stock)
The screen was the biggest dissapointment, The screen was all washed out, and with a yellowish tint. I was hoping to see a major improvement with the higher resolution but didn't compare at all against our phone.
So overall I didn't like the Sensation over the G2x and is not even a match when It comes to speed.
I am a proud owner of the G2x.
Hopefully they start selling the G2x soon. I am pretty sure T-Mobile will be marketing the G2x much more once they release the gingerbread update.
My advise is that you go to your T-Mobile store and try them both and decide for yourself.

Thats it, best answer !! ....Several people have called this out. Go try it. If you like it...buy it. Good for you. If you don't, then good for you. Reasons for buying or not buying anything are between you and yourself.
Please feel free to not share those reasons....privacy laws and all...I'm sure you understand...

In my opinion, the G2x, right now, isn't ready for the general public. I think it is a good thing they aren't selling them again until GB comes out.
For me, the phone is a beast. I'm not afraid to root it and start ripping out crap that causes problems or flashing custom software or patches. The phone, completely stock, suffers from crappy programming.
Thats one thing that kills me about Android. I LOVE android but manufactures dig their own graves. Google should hire the CM team officially and make all phones require AOSP drivers. I mean the Nexus One still gets official updates from Google. If Google hired the CM team to work on making phones compatible with AOSP roms, then all phones could get pushed stable updates the way Google pushed updates to the Nexus phones.
See right now, manufactures have to build roms around their drivers. If all phones were made compatible to the same set of drivers then we wouldn't have this fragmentation crap.
They need to make the overlays just additional installs.

Agree 100%. Why you think the Nexus One forums are still booming

It's wierd I read of all these problems all I have is slight screen bleeding in the corners and I would've never recognized if I didn't read about it I love this phone my wife has a sidekick 4g and it feels way out dated to this phone never had a reboot or any thing so patently waiting for gingerbread

Yeah, agreed. I have both. One goes back. I switched to the beast again today. Handed them both to my girlfriend, seeking her opinion. After 15 minutes she chose the G2x. You are right its a beast.

Good choice brotha, I effin love my g2x it seems to amaze me everyday......they should rename this phone the hulk smash....cuz it definitly smashes the competition and is a straight beast!!!

Amen boys...this is my favorite android phone to date and I've had most ....love the sense clock but want nothing to do with sense ever again. Vanilla = real android experience .....we should come up with a clan name for the users that never turned their backs on this beast...what y'all think?

Check out GO Weather, its a widget set that includes a click that can be skinned to look just like HTC.

No offense, there is no app that would make me buy a phone. The Beast is the beast because of how it feels and what it does. Sense or an unlocked bootloader are not part of it... For me.??

My first post .... ) ..I don't know what all the fuss is about. I've had the G2X since day 1 and can honestly say it is the best android phone I have ever used. I switched from the Samsung galaxy which honestly led me to hate android. Switching from Samsung to this beast has changed my mind completely. I love everything about this phone. At first I was getting the random reboots but that hasn't happened in over a month. I can honestly say.. this phone is simply incredible.

I know, I'm looking at my G2x right now and is just gorgeous. This beweled screen and shinny screen, the metal, around the sides. I just don't like to put this phone down lol.

That was a week ago:
"So after 2replacements and still having issue with a screen bleeding and random reboots tmo kinda force me to get sensation" - from my post Goodbye G2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1243966
But i wasnt rly happy with that, so called TMO saying i would like to get my G2x back.
Thay said they cannot do it 'cause that exchange was FINAL.
So i said if it was final that means my sensation its a new phone and i can return in 30 days or so and this is what i wanna do. And also in this case my new contract is no longer valid so i can terminate my line w/o early termination fee.
And voila!!! tommorow i will have my new G2x!!!!

Just realized G2x is my only Love

Was the Sensation that bad? I thinking of trading my G2x for a Sensation.

I've thought about switching to the Sensation, but my G2x is perfect as-is.

Sensation has alot more development and alot friendlier knowledgeable people. Not speaking of anyone in particular here but we have some real dicks in some of our threads who think they and their thread are holier than thou! Roommate has a sensation and I'm more than happy when I have to post and talk on their forum. Unlike ours lol.

Well i wouldnt buy a phone because of the forum
For me g2x is much more better for customize at least. its faster and finally i love it and thats a most important thing im back with G2x

besides i didnt make this post to convince anyone that g2x is better than sensation.
just wanted to share that im happy to be back with g2x, thats all

Im glad to read this post. I just ordered 3 g2x's and im switching from sprint. Love my evo but sprints data speeds in phoenix are horrible so I switched. Will be getting my g2x's monday

My MT4G took a dump, keeps dropping data on every Radio/Rom i use.
Wi-Fi is really weak on this phone you got to admit.
Called Tmobile told them i was fed up, since i've had about 5 replacements other replacements where because of the SH screen (washed out). and told them if they can send me a replacement but to make sure they didnt send one with a washed out screen. and They said they will send me a Brand New MT4G Slide.

Well I always grab my aunts mt4gs when she visit to her dislike lol and I did some test the mt4gs is really fast on the double shot rom and the ui is perfect for the phone great multi tasking

All i can say is BUTTER SMOOTH...
if you think the Glacier was smooth, This thing is hella smooth even with all the bloat Tmobile has on it. A lot smoother than any other phone i've had for sure. I think im just gonna keep this one as is, without rooting or anything.
Guess i just got tired of flashing every other day.
